4QTL analysis for ascorbic acid content in strawberry fruit reveals a complex genetic architecture and association with GDP-L-galactose phosphorylase显示文摘Strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa)fruits are an excellent source of L-ascorbic acid(AsA),a powerful antioxidant for plants and humans.Identifying the genetic components underlying AsA accumulation is crucial for enhancing strawberry nutritional quality.Here,we unravel the genetic architecture of AsA accumulation using an F1 population derived from parental lines‘Candonga’and‘Senga Sengana’,adapted to distinct Southern and Northern European areas.To account for environmental effects,the F1 and parental lines were grown and phenotyped in five locations across Europe(France,Germany,Italy,Poland and Spain).Fruit AsA content displayed normal distribution typical of quantitative traits and ranged five-fold,with significant differences among genotypes and environments.AsA content in each country and the average in all of them was used in combination with 6,974 markers for quantitative trait locus(QTL)analysis.Environmentally stable QTLs for AsA content were detected in linkage group(LG)3A,LG 5A,LG 5B,LG 6B and LG 7C.Candidate genes were identified within stable QTL intervals and expression analysis in lines with contrasting AsA content suggested that GDP-L-Galactose Phosphorylase FaGGP(3A),and the chloroplast-located AsA transporter gene FaPHT4;4(7C)might be the underlying genetic factors for QTLs on LG 3A and 7C,respectively.We show that recessive alleles of FaGGP(3A)inherited from both parental lines increase fruit AsA content.Furthermore,expression of FaGGP(3A)was two-fold higher in lines with high AsA.Markers here identified represent a useful resource for efficient selection of new strawberry cultivars with increased AsA content.Pilar Muñoz Cristina Castillejo JoséAntonio Gómez Luis Miranda Silke Lesemann Klaus Olbricht Aurélie Petit Philippe Chartier Annika Haugeneder Johanna Trinkl Luca Mazzoni Agnieszka Masny Edward Zurawicz Freya Maria Rosemarie Ziegler Björn Usadel Wilfried Schwab Béatrice Denoyes Bruno Mezzetti Sonia Osorio JoséFSánchez-Sevilla Iraida Amaya 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,3:1

10A visual analytics workflow for probabilistic modeling显示文摘Probabilistic programming is a powerful means for formally specifying machine learning models.The inference engine of a probabilistic programming environment can be used for serving complex queries on these models.Most of the current research in probabilistic programming is dedicated to the design and implementation of highly efficient inference engines.Much less research aims at making the power of these inference engines accessible to non-expert users.Probabilistic programming means writing code.Yet many potential users from promising application areas such as the social sciences lack programming skills.This prompted recent efforts in synthesizing probabilistic programs directly from data.However,working with synthesized programs still requires the user to read,understand,and write some code,for instance,when invoking the inference engine for answering queries.Here,we present an interactive visual approach to synthesizing and querying probabilistic programs that does not require the user to read or write code.Julien Klaus Mark Blacher Andreas Goral Philipp Lucas Joachim Giesen 2023Visual Informatics2023,7,2:0
11Systemic Risks: A Homomorphic Approach on the Basis of Complexity Science显示文摘Although the notion of systemic risk gained prominence with respect to financial systems, it is a generic term that refers to risks of increasing importance in many domains—risks that cannot be tackled by conventional techniques of risk management and governance. We build on a domain-overarching definition of systemic risks by highlighting crucial properties that distinguish them from conventional risks and plain disasters. References to typical examples from various domains are included. Common features of systemic risks in different domains—such as the role of agents and emergence phenomena, tipping and cascading, parameters indicating instability, and historicity—turn out to be more than noncommittal empirical observations. Rather these features can be related to fundamental theory for relatively simple and well-understood systems in physics and chemistry. 13Numerical Modeling of Turbulent Melt Flow in a Continuous Casting Mold Affected by an Electromagnetic Brake显示文摘The current work combines numerical and experimental investigations based on a small-scale mockup using the eutectic alloy GaInSn.The jet flow discharging from the submerged entry nozzle was exposed perpendicularly to a DC magnetic field across the entire wide face of the mold.Numerical calculations were performed by using the commercial package CFX with an implemented RANS-SST turbulence model.The anisotropic properties of the MHD turbulence were taken into account by specific modifications of the turbulence model.The comparison between our numerical calculations and the experimental results shows a very well agreement.In particular,the modified RANS-SST turbulence model is capable to reconstruct the peculiar phenomenon of the excitation of non-steady,non-isotropic large-scale flow perturbations caused by the application of the DC magnetic field.Another important finding of our study is the feature that the electrical boundary conditions,namely the wall conductivity ratio,have a great impact on the mold flow subjected to an external magnetic field.MIAO Xin-cheng Timmel Klaus Lucas Dirk REN Zhong-ming Eckert Sven Gerbeth Gunter 2012Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2012,19,S2:0
