2Groundwater hydrochemistry and isotope geochemistry in the Turpan Basin, northwestern China显示文摘The Turpan Basin is located in the arid zone of northwestern China and is a typical closed inland basin surrounded by high mountains. It is one of the most arid regions in the world and, as a result, the groundwater in this area is very important for both domestic and agricultural uses. In the present study, the relationships of major elements(K+, Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+, HCO3-, SO42- and Cl-) and environmental isotopes(δ18O, δ2H and T) in groundwater were analyzed to investigate the evolution of the regional hydrochemistry within the Turpan Basin. The hydrochemistry results demonstrate that groundwater with high total dissolved solids(TDS) concentration is dominated by sodium chloride(Na-Cl) and sodium sulfate(Na-SO4) type water, whereas that with low TDS concentration(typically from near mountain areas) is dominated by calcium bicarbonate(Ca-HCO3) type water. The evolution of groundwater hydrochemistry within the Turpan Basin is a result of calcium carbonate precipitation, evaporation concentration, cation exchange and dissolution of evaporites(i.e. halite, mirabilite and gypsum). Furthermore, evaporite dissolution associated with irrigation practice plays a key role in the groundwater salinization, especially in the central part of the basin. Environmental isotopes reveal that the groundwater is recharged by precipitation in the mountain areas and fast vertical infiltration of irrigation return flow. In the southern sub-basin the shallow groundwater and the deep groundwater is separated at a depth of about 40 m, with substantial differences in terms of hydrochemical and isotopic characteristics. 3Origin of Tafoni in the Late Cretaceous Aeolian Sandstones,Danxiashan UNESCO Global Geopark,South China显示文摘Tafoni occur generally in granular rocks around the world, but their origin remains controversial. In this study,the roles of lithology, micro–climate, and organism in tafoni development are investigated in the Danxiashan UNESCO Global Geopark of South China. The Jinshiyan Temple and Luyitang sites along the Jinjiang River are chosen to conduct tafoni morphometry, bedrock petrography, and micro–climate analyses. The research methods used in this study include field observations and measurements, Voronoi diagrams, polarizing microscopic and scanning electron microscopic(SEM)image analysis, and meteorological detection. The tafoni are mostly 2–10 cm in length and elliptical in shape. The Late Cretaceous Jinshiyan sandstones are characterized by a grain–to–grain contact fabric and moderate sorting with a high proportion of soluble grains and cements. The Voronoi diagrams developed through the Arc GIS software are largely consistent with the tafoni openings. Moreover, owing to exposure to solar insolation, the external temperature values are higher than the internal ones, while the external relative humidity values are lower than the internal ones. Therefore, the permeable Jinshiyan sandstones are fundamental for tafoni development, while the abundant moisture from the Jinjiang River and frequent rains is favorable for salt weathering in tandem with biological activities. 4Enhanced mechanical properties and degradation rate of Mg-Ni-Y alloy by introducing LPSO phase for degradable fracturing ball applications显示文摘In this work,as-cast Mg-Ni-Y alloys were proposed to develop a feasible material for fracturing balls,and their mechanical performance and corrosion behavior were systematically investigated.Long period stacking order(LPSO)phase was firstly introduced to improve both the mechanical properties and degradation rate of magnesium alloys.With the increase of LPSO phase,the compressive strength was improved significantly,while the elongation of the alloys decreased owing to the relatively brittle nature of LPSO phase.Due to the higher corrosion potential of LPSO phase,the LPSO phase can accelerate the corrosion process by providing more micro-couples.However,the LPSO phase would serve as the corrosion barrier between the corrosion medium and the matrix when the contents of LPSO phase are too high in Mg92.5Ni3Y4.5 and Mg87.5Ni5Y7.5 alloys.As-cast Mg97.5Ni1Y1.5 alloy with satisfactory mechanical properties and rapid degradation rate was successfully developed,exhibiting a high degradation rate of 6675 mm/a(93℃)in 3 wt.%KCl solution and a favorable ultimate compressive strength of 410 MPa.The degradation rate of Mg97.5Ni1Y1.5 alloy is 2-5 times of the current commercial magnesium alloy fracturing materials.Jingfeng Wang Shiqing Gao Xiuying Liu Xing Peng Kui Wang Shijie Liu Weiyan Jiang Shengfeng Guo Fusheng Pan 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,1:13
5Superhydrophobic modification of ceramic membranes for vacuum membrane distillation显示文摘The hydrophobically modi fied ceramic membranes have great potential for energy-ef ficient membrane distillation.In this work,flat-sheet ceramic membranes with a superhydrophobic surface were fabricated by grafting 1H,1H,2H,2H-per fluorooctyltrichlorosilane or 1H,1H,2H,2H-per fluorodecyltriethoxysilane and followed by ultraviolet irradiation.The surface water contact angle was improved from 46° of original ceramic membrane to 159°,which exhibited a stable and excellent superhydrophobic effect.The modi fied membranes showed a high flux of 27.28 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1) and simultaneously maintained an excellent retention rate of 99.99%,when used in vacuum membrane distillation process for treatment of a 1 wt% NaCl(75 °C) aqueous solution.These results suggested that superhydrophobic modi fication of ceramic surface is a facile and cost-effective way to achieve higher membrane distillation performance.The superhydrophobically-modi fied ceramic membrane with an excellent desalination capacity would show considerable potential in practical membrane distillation utilizations.Yanhui Yang Qianqian Liu Haizhi Wang Fusheng Ding Guoshan Jin Chunxi Li Hong Meng 2017Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2017,25,10:9
6Clarifying the roles of grain boundary and grain orientation on the corrosion and discharge processes of α-Mg based Mg-Li alloys for primary Mg-air batteries显示文摘The corrosion behavior at open circuit potential(OCP)and discharge properties under applied anodic currents of twoα-Mg based Mg-Li alloys,i.e.,LAZ131 and LAZ531,with different microstructural features for primary Mg-air batteries are investigated.The results show that the grain boundaries contribute equally to the corrosion and discharge processes,which are attacked preferentially than the grain interiors and accelerate the dissolution processes ofα-Mg based Mg-Li alloys.The(10-10)/(11-20)orientated grains are attacked preferentially than the(0002)orientated grains on the corrosion and discharge process.The increased corrosion rate and improved discharge properties are attributed to the refinement of grain size,decreased content of(0002)orientated grains and increased content of(10-10)/(11-20)orientated grains.Of those,the LAZ531 alloy possesses high and steady discharge voltage at small discharge current density for long time,with the values of 1.4801 V at 2.5 mA cm^(-2)and 1.3742 V at 10 mA cm^(-2).Huabao Yang Liang Wu Bin Jiang Wenjun Liu Jiangfeng Song Guangsheng Huang Dingfei Zhang Fusheng Pan 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,3:9
7High temperature formability of graphene nanoplatelets-AZ31 composites fabricated by stir-casting method显示文摘Outstanding mechanical properties of graphene nanoplatelets(GNPs)make them ideal reinforcement for mass production of composites.In this research,the composites were fabricated by stir-casting method.GNPs were added in 1.5 and 3.0 wt.%into Mg–3wt.%Al–1wt.%Zn(AZ31)magnesium alloy.As cast ingots were preheated for one hour and extruded at 350℃ with extrusion ratio of 5.2:1.As extruded AZ31-GNPs composites were micro-structurally characterized with X-ray diffraction,optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy.Vickers microhardness of synthesized materials was investigated both in parallel and perpendicular to extrusion directions.Room temperature mechanical testing revealed that with increasing GNP’s content,tensile fracture strain was remarkably increased without significant compromise in tensile strength.Furthermore,as extruded AZ31-3GNPs composites were subjected to tensile testing at temperatures ranging from 75℃ to 300℃ with initial strain rate of 2×10^(−3)s^(−1) to evaluate high temperature formability of composite.It was found that like CNTs,GNPs also have the potential to sustain tensile strength at high temperatures.Muhammad Rashad Fusheng Pan Yanglu Liu Xianhua Chen Han Lin Rongjian Pan Muhammad Asif Jia She 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,4:9
8Effects of long-term fertilization with different substitution ratios of organic fertilizer on paddy soil显示文摘In recent years,the abuse of chemical fertilizers has caused numerous environmental problems,such as soil acidification and compaction.Replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can effectively alleviate these problems.However,the effects of alternative organic fertilizers remain unclear.To explore the effects of organic fertilizer substitution on rice yield and paddy soil physicochemical properties and bacterial community structure,we conducted a 5-year experiment using different proportions of organic fertilizer substitution in a double-cropping rice field in Jiangxi,China.Our results showed that replacing chemical fertilizers with organic fertilizers can reduce soil acidification,increase soil organic matter content,nutrient contents,and enzyme activities,improve soil physicochemical properties and microbial community,and enhance soil metabolism.Appropriate organic substitution also had positive effects on rice production.These findings enhance our understanding of the effects of different alternative organic fertilization methods and have important theoretical significance for the promotion of the use of organic fertilizers in the future.Weifeng SONG Aiping SHU Jiai LIU Wenchong SHI Mingcong LI Wenxue ZHANG Zuzhang LI Guangrong LIU Fusheng YUAN Shuxin ZHANG Zengbing LIU Zheng GAO 2022Pedosphere2022,32,4:7

10Polymorphisms of chemokine receptors and its ligand alleles influencing genetic suscepti-bity to HIV-1 infection in eight ethnic groups in Chinese mainland显示文摘Limited genetic information is available concerning the polymorphisms of HIV-1 resistant genes in indigenous Chinese populations. The aim of this study is to identify the allelic frequencies of the chemokine and chemokine receptor genes in the Chinese mainland. Genomic DNA samples extracted from whole blood of 2318 subjects were analyzed by using PCR or PCR/restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) assays, and further confirmed by direct DNA sequencing. Higher frequencies of mutant CCR2-64I (19.15%-28.79%) and SDF1-3’A (19.10% -29.86%) alleles were found in subjects of 8 ethnic groups in the Chinese mainland. In contrast, the △32 mutation in CCRS gene occurs at a very low frequency (0.0016, n=1287) in Han population. A relatively high frequency of CCR5-wt/△32 heterozygotes was observed in Uygurian and Mongolian populations. No A32 mutation allele was detected in Tibetan and other 4 ethnic groups in Yunnan Province. 11Microstructure and mechanical behavior of the Mg-Mn-Ce magnesium alloy sheets显示文摘The microstructural evolution and mechanical behavior of Mg-Mn-Ce magnesium alloy were investigated in the present study.Mg alloy was prepared with metal model casting method and subsequently hot extruded at 703 K with the reduction ratio of 101:1.The grains were dynamically recrystallized after the extrusion process.Moreover,the(0002)pole figure of Mg-Mn-Ce alloy developed a splitting of pronounced basal texture.The mechanical properties were different due to different angles between c-axis and loading direction(0°,45°and 90°)in the tensile tests.This significantly induces an asymmetry in the yield behavior.The Mg-Mn-Ce alloy exhibits a classical dimple structure as a result of slip accumulation and ductile tear.Qingshan Yang Bin Jiang Xin Li Hanwu Dong Wenjun Liu Fusheng Pan 2014Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,1:6
12Variation of temporal and spatial patterns of NO_2 in Beijing using OMI and mobile DOAS显示文摘Control policies such as 'odd-and-even license plate rule' were implemented by the Chinese government to restrict traffic and suspend factory production in Beijing and neighboring cities during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. We use ozone monitoring instrument(OMI), mobile differential optical absorption spectroscopy(DOAS), and multi-axis differential optical absorption spectroscopy(MAX-DOAS) to measure the variation of the spatial and temporal patterns of NO2 column densities from October 24, 2014 to November 22, 2014. It is found that the NO2 column densities during the episode of control policies are significantly lower than those during other periods, and the emission flux of NO2 calculated by mobile DOAS is also lower than the results from other periods. Some daily low NO2 column densities occur with the northwest wind direction. We then compare the relationship between OMI and mobile DOAS NO2 column density observations, and the results of mobile DOAS are approximately 2.7 times larger than the OMI values. The largest discrepancy occurs in the northern part of Beijing city. In other parts, the two instruments have a better correlation coefficient(R2) of 0.61. 13Clinical characteristics and changes in living quality of patients with radiation encephalopathy induced by radiation therapy for treating nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND: Radiation encephalopathy (RE) caused by radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma severely influences patients' quality of life (QOL). The factors, which influence such patients' QOL, have not been confirmed. OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical and imageological characteristics of patients with radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma-induced RE and the changes in QOL, and analyze QOL influencing factors. DESIGN: Retrospective case analysis. SETTING: Department of Neurology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University. PARTICIPANTS: Eighty-nine inpatients or outpatients with RE induced by radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma admitted to Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and Department of Neurology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University from March 1994 to August 2004 were involved in this experiment. They all met the diagnosis criteria of RE from MERRITT'S neurology (10th edition). Thirty-three involved patients were randomly chosen as RE group. Another 34 concurrent inpatients or outpatients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma who received radiation therapy but without RE were chosen as control group. Informed consents of detected items were obtained from all the involved subjects. METHODS: ① Patients were evaluated when they were followed up. The World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire abbreviated version (WHOQOL-BREF) was used for on-the-spot evaluation. High points of WHOQOL-BREF indicated better QOL. The Late Effects on Normal Tissues - Subjective, Objective, Management and Analytic (LENT-SOMA) scale for evaluating radiation injury was used to evaluate headache and neurologic disorder of patients with RE induced by radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The evaluation was graded into 5 degrees. High degrees indicted severer clinical symptoms. ② Disease latency (i.e. time interval from symptoms and body signs appearing or radiation therapy ending to onset), initial symptoms, common symptoms, imageological characteristics, QOL and other related factors of patients were recorded. ③ Statistical management was carried out with SPSS 10.0 software. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: QOL and clinical characteristics of patients with RE induced by radiation therapy of nasopharyngeal carcinoma as well as QOL influencing factors. RESULTS: All the involved subjects participated in the final analysis. ① Disease latency of patients with RE ranged from 0 to 24 years, and 95% confidence interval was 0 to 15 years. There were significant differences in amount of invaded cases between 6 months after one radiation therapy and 6 months after two or more radiation therapies (χ2=36.76,P < 0.01). ② The common initial symptom of patients with RE was glossopharyngeal paralysis (33 cases, 37%). ③ The first 3 common symptoms of patients with RE were glossopharyngeal paralysis (52 cases, 58%), limb inertia and sensory disorder (25 cases, 28%) and headache (25 cases, 28%).④Imageology of patients with RE was characterized by long T1 and T2 signal shadow on magnetic resonance. ⑤Total scores of health, of daily life and of social relationship, measured with WHOQOL-BREF, of patients in RE group were significantly lower than those in the control group, respectively [(2.06±0.86)points vs. (2.59±0.66)points; (2.45±0.75)points vs. (2.91±0.75)points; (51.67±15.24) points vs. (59.22±13.03)points, P < 0.05]. Patients undergoing two or more radiation therapies were inferior to those undergoing one radiation therapy in total scores of health, and of daily life, scores of physiology, and of psychology (P < 0.05). ⑥Glossopharyngeal paralysis was negatively correlated with scores of psychology, total scores of daily life and of health in WHOQOL-BREF (P < 0.05); Head was negatively correlated with scores of psychology in WHOQOL-BREF (P < 0.05); Neurologic deficit wasnegatively correlated with scores of psychology, and total scores of health in WHOQOL-BREF (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: ①The latency of RE of patients undergoing two or more radiation therapies is remarkably shortened, and QOL is decreased, but there is no difference in QOL between two genders. ② Brain edema is common in imageology of RE after radiation therapy. 14A novel approach to melt purification of magnesium alloys显示文摘A novel low-cost method for melt purification of magnesium alloys,the melt self-purifying technology(MSPT),has been developed successfully based on a low temperature melt treatment(LTMT)without adding any fluxes.The iron solubility in the molten liquid of magnesium and its alloys,and the settlement velocity of iron particles were calculated.It is shown that the low temperature melt treatment is an effective method to decrease the impurity Fe content in magnesium and its alloys.Without any additions,the Fe content in the AZ31 alloy was reduced to 15 ppm from the initial 65 ppm,and the Fe content in the AZ61 melt was decreased to 20 ppm from the initial 150 ppm after the low temperature melt treatment.The results also showed that the Fe content in AM60 and AM50 dropped to 15 and 18 ppm,respectively,from the initial 150 ppm after the low temperature melt treatment.For ZK 60,the Fe content in the melt down to less than 5 ppm was achieved.After the low temperature melt treatment,the Si content in the above alloys was also decreased obviously.Fusheng Pan Xianhua Chen Tao Yan Tingting Liu Jianjun Mao Wei Luo Qin Wang Jian Peng Aitao Tang Bin Jiang 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,1:5
15Influence of carbon on the giant magnetocaloric effect of LaFe_11.7Si_1.3显示文摘The influences of carbon on phase formation, Curie temperature, and magnetic entropy change of the NaZn13-type LaFe11.7Si1.3 were investigated. Seven carbon-containing alloys, LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx with x = 0, 0.03, 0.06, 0.10, 0.20, 0.30, and 0.50, respectively, were prepared for this investigation. Experimental results show that addition of a small amount of carbon in LaFe11.7Si1.3 is favorable for the formation of the NaZn13-type structure of LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx. The lattice constant increases with C addition and x increases in the alloy because of the introduction of C as interstitial atoms. The Cu- rie temperature of LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx increases from 194 K to 225 K as x increases from 0 to 0.5. Large magnetic entropy changes were observed in these carbon-containing alloys LaFe11.7Si1.3Cx because of their first-order structural/magnetic transition. The maximum magnetic entropy change of 27.5 J?kg?1?K?1 at 202 K for the 0-1.56 T magnetic field change was observed in the alloy with x = 0.06. 16An improved neural network model for prediction of mechanical properties of magnesium alloys显示文摘An improved neural network model was developed for prediction of mechanical properties in the de-sign and development of new types of magnesium alloys by refining the types of input variables and using a more reasonable algorithm. The results showed that the improved model apparently decreased the prediction errors, and raised the accuracy of the prediction results. Better preprocessing parame-ters were found to be [0.15, 0.90] for the tensile strength, [0.1, 0.9] for the yield strength, and [0.15, 0.90] for the elongation. When the above parameters were used, the relativity for predicition of strength was bigger than 0.95. 17Primary investigation of the pollution status of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in water and soil of Xuanwei and Fuyuan,Yunnan Province,China显示文摘Lung cancer incidence in Xuanwei and Fuyuan is extremely high. The air pollution, especially indoor airborne PAHs generated by burning smoky coals, has been considered as the most probable reason. The air pollution may affect drinking water and soil through dry and wet deposition. In this study, the concentrations of PAHs in water and soil samples from Xuanwei and Fuyuan were monitored to investigate the influence of atmospheric PAHs pollution on water and soil. No obvious PAHs pollution in water was found in these two areas, indicating that airborne PAHs have no apparent effect on the drinking water (well water). The smoky coal combustion from household and industry, such as the activities related to power plants, coking plants and chemical industries, is responsible for the soil PAHs pollution in these two areas. 18Preparation, structure and properties of Mg/Al laminated metal composites fabricated by roll-bonding, a review显示文摘Laminated metal composites(LMCs) are a unique composite material and have great application prospects in automobiles, ships, aircraft,and other manufacturing industries. As lightweight materials, the Mg/Al LMCs are expected to combine the advantages of both Mg and Al alloys to broaden their application prospects. Roll-bonding is the most popular process for the fabrication of Mg/Al LMCs due to high production efficiency and good product quality stability. The roll-bonding process involves the deformation of the substrates and the formation of the interfacial diffusion layer. The latter will directly determine the interface bonding strength of Mg/Al LMCs. Bonding strength is very sensitive to the thickness of the reaction layer in the diffusion layer. When the thickness of the reaction layer exceeds 5 μm, the bonding strength decreases sharply. Therefore, controlling the thickness of the reaction layer is very important for the design of rolling parameters.The latest research also showed that the addition of intermediate layer metal and the construction of three-dimensional interfaces can further improve the interface bonding strength. How to apply these methods to roll-bonding is the focus of future research. Recently, a new rolling technique, corrugated roll/plat roll rolling+flat roll/flat roll rolling has been developed to fabricate Mg/Al LMCs. It can effectively promote the deformation of the hard layer and generate a wavy interface, resulting in the enhancement of the bonding quality and rolling quality.In the current review, the effects of rolling parameters and subsequent annealing on the interface structure of Mg/Al LMCs were elaborated in detail. The application of some special rolling techniques in the preparation of Mg/Al LMCs was also summarized. The latest research results on the relationship between interface structure and mechanical properties of Mg/Al LMCs were reviewed. 19Influences of alternate partial root-zone irrigation and urea rate on water-and nitrogen-use efficiencies in tomato显示文摘Traditional water and fertilizer inputs are often much higher than the actual demands of tomato,which causes a reduction in water-and fertilizer-use efficiencies.To investigate the advantage of alternate partial root-zone irrigation(AI)on water-and nitrogen(N)-use efficiencies of tomato modified by water and N management,taking conventional irrigation(CI)as the control,the effects of AI on root morphology and activity,fruit yield and water and N use efficiency were studied using pot experiments.There were four combinations of irrigation levels and growing stages of tomato for AI,i.e.AI_(1)(high water(W_(H))from blooming to harvest stage(BHS)),AI_(2)(W_(H)from blooming to fruit setting stage(BFS)and low water(W_(L))at the harvest stage(HS)),AI_(3)(W_(L)at BFS and W_(H)at HS)and AI_(4)(W_(L)at BHS)at three urea rates,i.e.low urea rate(NL),middle urea rate(N_(M))and high urea rate(N_(H))in the form of urea.Irrigation quotas for W_(H)and W_(L)in AI at BFS or HS were 80%and 60%of that in CI,respectively.Compared to CI,AI decreased water consumption by 16.0%-33.1%and increased water use efficiency of yield(WUE_(y))and dry mass(WUE_(d))by 6.7%-11.9%and 10.2%-15.9%,respectively.AI_(1)did not decline yield,total N uptake(TNU)and N use efficiency(NUE)significantly.Compared to NL,N_(M)enhanced tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 28.5%,35.3%,22.6%and 16.3%,respectively.Compared to CINL,AI_(1)N_(M)reduced water consumption by 12.5%,but increased tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 35.5%,58.4%,54.4%and 53.7%,respectively.Therefore,AI_(1)can improve water use efficiency and total N uptake of tomato simultaneously at medium urea rate.Liu Xiaogang Li Fusheng Zhang Fucang Cai Huanjie Yang Qiliang 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6:4
