1Study on Volatile Oil Components and Total Anti-oxidation Capacity and Simulated SOD Activity of Leaves from Michelia chapensis and M. fovelata显示文摘The volatile oils from leaves of Michelia chapensis Dandy and M. foveolata Merr.ex Dandy were isolated by organic solvent extraction and their components were analyzed and quantified by GC/MS. Then, the total anti-oxidation capacity and simulated SOD activity were tested. Forty-four compounds in M. chapensis were identified and the main constituents are aromatic (11.057%), ester (5.041%) and terpenoid compounds (19.772%). Fifty-two compounds in M. foveolata were identified, and their main constituents are aromatic (21.293%), alcohol (17.403%), alkene (6.909%), ester (5.657%) and alkane compounds (5.134%). The results showed that the two oils have strong anti-oxidation capacity and simulated SOD activity. The total anti-oxidation capacities were the highest when the volatile oil from M. foveolata was diluted by 50 times and that from M.chapensis by 100 times. The simulated SOD activity of volatile oil from M. chapensis was higher than that from M. foveolata, and CuZn-SODs in the two oils held 73%-74% of the total SOD. 8A nomogram-based immune-serum scoring system predicts overall survival in patients with lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Objective:The immunoscore,which is used to quantify immune infiltrates,has greater relative prognostic value than tumor,node,and metastasis(TNM)stage and might serve as a new system for classification of colorectal cancer.However,a comparable immunoscore for predicting lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)prognosis is currently lacking.Methods:We analyzed the expression of 18 immune features by immunohistochemistry in 171 specimens.The relationship of immune marker expression and clinicopathologic factors to the overall survival(OS)was analyzed with the Kaplan-Meier method.A nomogram was developed by using the optimal features selected by least absolute shrinkage and selection operator(LASSO)regression in the training cohort(n=111)and evaluated in the validation cohort(n=60).Results:The indicators integrated in the nomogram were TNM stage,neuron-specific enolase,carcino-embryonic antigen,CD8 center of tumor(CT),CD8 invasive margin(IM),Fox P3 CT,and CD45 ROCT.The calibration curve showed prominent agreement between the observed 2-and 5-year OS and that predicted by the nomogram.To simplify the nomogram,we developed a new immune-serum scoring system(I-SSS)based on the points awarded for each factor in the nomogram.Our I-SSS was able to stratify same-stage patients into different risk subgroups.The combination of I-SSS and TNM stage had better prognostic value than the TNM stage alone.Conclusions:Our new I-SSS can accurately and individually predict LUAD prognosis and may be used to supplement prognostication based on the TNM stage.Qiujuan Huang Tongyuan Qu Lisha Qi Changxu Liu Yuhong Guo Qianru Guo Guangning Li Yalei Wang Wenshuai Zhang Wei Zhao Danyang Ren Leina Sun Shengguang Wang Bin Meng Baocun Sun Bin Zhang Wenjuan Ma Wenfeng Cao 2021Cancer Biology & Medicine2021,18,2:0
9A melatonin-based targetable fluorescent probe for screening of tumor cells and real-time imaging of glutathione fluctuations in tumor cells显示文摘Glutathione(GSH)is a key maintainer of cellular redox balance and plays an important role in many physiological effects.For example,GSH has been widely implicated in cancer initiation,progression and metastasis.Moreover,the concentrations of GSH in tumor cells can influence drug resistance.Given the serious harmfulness of cancer and the important roles of GSH in cancer,it has great significance to devel-opment probes for screening of tumor cells and real-time monitoring of GSH fluctuations in tumor cells.However,no targetable probe for reversible imaging of GSH in tumor cells has been reported.Herein,we constructed a melatonin-based targetable and reversible fluorescent probe(GR-MT)for screening of tumor cells and real-time imaging of GSH fluctuations in tumor cells.The probe uses coumarin as the skeleton,Michael addition reaction as the reaction mechanism,and melatonin as the targeted groups of tumor cells.The experimental results demonstrate this probe has many advantages including high selec-tivity,satisfactory sensitivity,excellent reversible ability,rapid reaction speed,and outstanding targetabil-ity of tumor cells.Therefore,this study provides a promising tool for tumor cells screening and real-time detection of GSH fluctuations in specific tumor cells.Xiwei Li Caiyun Liu Na Gao Wenlong Sheng Baocun Zhu 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,5:0
10Multidisciplinary team for the diagnosis and treatment of 2cases of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor显示文摘Extragonadal primary yolk sac tumor of the intestinal tract origin is exceedingly rare. Through a multiple disciplinary team, the diagnosis and treatment of primary intestinal yolk sac tumor were further defined. We report 2 such cases with detailed histologic and immunohistochemical analysis. The two patients were a 7-year-old girl and a 29-year-old woman. Both of them preoperatively had an elevated serum alpha fetoprotein(AFP) level(≥ 1,210 ng/mL). The tumors are located in the intestine and imaging examination indicated the rectum as the primary site. Grossly the mass was grey-white and crisp texture. Microscopic examination featured reticular, microcystic, macrocystic, papillary, solid, and some glandular patterns. Immunohistochemically,tumor cells of both cases were positive for SALL4, AFP, pan-cytokeratin(AE1/AE3), and glypican-3. Simultaneously, a stain for EMA, OCT4, CD30, HCG, vimentin and CK20 were negative in all 2 neoplasms.
