1Recent advances in biosynthesis of bioactive compounds in traditional Chinese medicinal plants显示文摘Plants synthesize and accumulate large amount of specialized(or secondary) metabolites also known as natural products, which provide a rich source for modern pharmacy. In China, plants have been used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. Recent development of molecular biology, genomics and functional genomics as well as high-throughput analytical chemical technologies has greatly promoted the research on medicinal plants. In this article, we review recent advances in the elucidation of biosynthesis of specialized metabolites in medicinal plants,including phenylpropanoids, terpenoids and alkaloids. These natural products may share a common upstream pathway to form a limited numbers of common precursors, but are characteristic in distinct modifications leading to highly variable structures. Although this review is focused on traditional Chinese medicine, other plants with a great medicinal interest or potential are also discussed. 3Acupuncture treatment of lung-spleen Qi deficiency in stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a randomized, open-label, controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture that reinforces the spleen to strengthen the lung in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:This was a randomized,open-controlled trial in which the acupuncturist and the participants were not blinded,but the outcome evalu-ators and data analysts were blinded.One-hundred-and-two patients with stable COPD were randomly divided into two groups in a 1∶1 ratio.The acupuncture group received 30-minute sessions of acupuncture therapy at the same acupoints three times weekly for 6 weeks in addition to routine conventional Western Medicine treatment;the control group received routine conventional Western Medicine treatment alone.The primary outcome was the Borg scale score,which was assessed immediately after the 6-minute walk test.The secondary outcomes were the 6-minute walk distance,lung function,and oxygen saturation.Measurements were obtained at baseline and after 6 weeks of treatment.RESULTS:After 6 weeks of treatment,the Borg scale score in the acupuncture group was significantly better than that in the control group(2.02±0.71 versus 5.01±0.34,P<0.05).Furthermore,the post-treatment improvements in the 6-minute walk distance,lung function,and oxygen saturation were significantly greater in the acupuncture group than in the control group,showing that the acupuncture group had better exercise tolerance.CONCLUSION:The findings suggest that acupuncture that aims to reinforce the spleen to strengthen the lung is a safe and effective adjuvant therapy that effectively improves the exercise capacity of patients with stable COPD.Li Yu Xiong Chan Zeng Yan Wei Hua Zhuang Guangtong Zhao Lihong Li Chenyi Li Lin Qin Erqi Chen Xiaoqin Fu Juanjuan 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,6:13

5Reversing the imbalance in bone homeostasis via sustained release of SIRT-1 agonist to promote bone healing under osteoporotic condition显示文摘The imbalance of bone homeostasis is the root cause of osteoporosis.However current therapeutic approaches mainly focus on either anabolic or catabolic pathways,which often fail to turn the imbalanced bone metabolism around.Herein we reported that a SIRT-1 agonist mediated molecular therapeutic strategy to reverse the imbalance in bone homeostasis by simultaneously regulating osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis via locally sustained release of SRT2104 from mineral coated acellular matrix microparticles.Immobilization of SRT2104 on mineral coating(MAM/SRT)harnessing their electrostatic interactions resulted in sustained release of SIRT-1 agonist for over 30 days.MAM/SRT not only enhanced osteogenic differentiation and mineralization,but also attenuated the formation and function of excessive osteoclasts via integrating multiple vital upstream signals(β-catenin,FoxOs,Runx2,NFATc1,etc.)in vitro.Osteoporosis animal model also validated that it accelerated osteoporotic bone healing and improved osseointegration of the surrounding bone.Overall,our work proposes a promising strategy to treat osteoporotic bone defects by reversing the imbalance in bone homeostasis using designated small molecule drug delivery systems.Wei Zhang Xingzhi Zhou Weiduo Hou Erman Chen Chenyi Ye Mo Chen Qian Lu Xiaohua Yu Weixu Li 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,1:2
6Multifunctional succinate additive for flexible perovskite solar cells with more than 23%power-conversion efficiency显示文摘Flexible perovskite solar cells(FPSCs)have emerged as power sources in versatile applications owing to their high-efficiency characteristics,excellent flexibility,and relatively lowcost.Nevertheless,undesired strain in perovskite films greatly impacts the power-conversion efficiency(PCE)and stability of PSCs,particularly in FPSCs.Herein,a novel multifunctional organic salt,methylammonium succinate,which can alleviate strain and reinforce grain boundaries,was incorporated into the perovskite film,leading to relaxed microstrain and a lower defect concentration.As a result,a PCE of 25.4%for rigid PSCs and a record PCE of 23.6%(certified 22.5%)for FPSCs have been achieved.In addition,the corresponding FPSCs exhibited excellent bending durability,maintaining85%of their initial efficiency after bending at a 6 mm radius for 10000 cycles.Minghao Li Junjie Zhou Liguo Tan Hang Li Yue Liu Chaofan Jiang Yiran Ye Liming Ding Wolfgang Tress Chenyi Yi 2022The Innovation2022,3,6:2

10Drain-engineered carbon-nanotube-film field-effect transistors with high performance and ultra-low current leakage显示文摘A small bandgap and light carrier effective mass(mo)lead to obv ous ambipolar transport behavior in carbon nanotube(CNT)fild-effect transistors(FE Ts),including a high off-state current and severe degradation of the subthreshold swing(SS)with increasing drain bias voltage.We demonstrate a drain-engineered method to cope with this common problem in CNT-film FETs with a sub-μum channel length,i.e.,suppressing the ambipolar behavion while maintaining high on-state performance by adopting a feedback gate(FBG)structure to extend the drain region from the CNT/metal contact to the proximate CNT channels to suppress the tunneling current.Sub-400-nm-channel-length FETs with a FBG structure statistially present a high on/off ratio of up to 10*and a sub-200 mV/dec SS under a high drain bias of up to-2 V whle maintaining a high on-state current of 0.2 mA/μm or a peak transconductance of 0.2 mS/um.By lowering the supply voltage to 1.5 V,FBG CNT-fim FETs can meet the requirement of standard-pertormance ultra large scale integrated circuits(ULSICs).Therefore,the introduction of the drain engineering structure enables applications of CNT-film-based FETs in ULSICs and could also be widely extended to other small-bandgap semiconductor-based FETs for an improvement in their off-state property.Lijun Liu Chenyi Zhao Li Ding Lianmao Peng Zhiyong Zhang 2020Nano Research2020,13,7:1

13Training deep convolution network with synthetic data for architectural morphological prototype classification显示文摘The use of architectural morphological analysis and generative design is an important strategy to interpret current designs and to propose novel ones.Conventional morphological features are defined based on qualitative descriptions or manually selected indicators,which include subjective bias,thus limiting generalizability.The lack of public architectural morphological datasets also leads to setbacks in data-driven morphological analysis.This study proposed a new method for generating topology-based synthetic data via a rule-based system and for encoding morphological information to promote morphological classification via deep learning.A deep convolution network,LeNet,which was modified in the output layer,was trained with synthetic data,including five spatial prototypes(central,linear,radial,cluster,and grid).The performance of the proposed method was validated on 40 practical architectural layouts.Compared to the ground truth,the proposed method provided an encouraging accuracy of 97.5%(39/40).Interestingly,the most possible mistakes of the LeNet were also understandable according to the architects intuitive perception.The proposed method considered the statistical and overall characteristics of the training samples.This work demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness of the deep learning network trained with synthetic architectural patterns for morphological classification in practical architectural layouts.The findings of this work could serve as a basis for further morpho-topology studies and other social,building energy,and building structure studies related to spatial morphology.Chenyi Cai Biao Li 2021Frontiers of Architectural Research2021,10,2:1

17Unravelling the essential difference between TiO_(x) and AlO_(x) interface layers on Ta_(3)N_(5) photoanode for photoelectrochemical water oxidation显示文摘Tantalum nitride(Ta_(3)N_(5))is a very promising photoanode material due to its narrow band gap(2.1 eV)and suitable band alignment for solar water splitting.However,it suffers from severe photocorrosion during water oxidation.In this work,it was found that surface passivation by AlO_(x) and TiO_(x) layers results in dramatically different PEC performance of Ta_(3)N_(5) photoanode for water oxidation.The mechanism study indicates that the negative charges on AlO_(x) can generate additional field to promote separation of photogenerated charges,while the positive charges on TiO_(x) layer show the opposite effect.As a result,the Ta_(3)N_(5) based photoanode modified with AlO_(x) layer gives a high photocurrent of 12.5 mA cm^(-2) for 24 h at 1.23 V versus the reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE).Dynamic analysis implies that the hole extraction and transfer are significantly improved by the modification with the AlO_(x) layer.This work reveals the importance of the charges on surface passivation layer in interface engineering of photoelectrodes.Yongle Zhao Huichen Xie Wenwen Shi Hong Wang Chenyi Shao Can Li 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,1:0

19Crystallization and Orientation Modulation Enable Highly Efficient Doctor-Bladed Perovskite Solar Cells显示文摘With the rapid rise in perovskite solar cells(PSCs)performance,it is imperative to develop scalable fabrication techniques to accelerate potential commercialization.However,the power conversion efficiencies(PCEs)of PSCs fabricated via scalable two-step sequential deposition lag far behind the state-of-the-art spin-coated ones.Herein,the additive methylammonium chloride(MACl)is introduced to modulate the crystallization and orientation of a two-step sequential doctorbladed perovskite film in ambient conditions.MACl can significantly improve perovskite film quality and increase grain size and crystallinity,thus decreasing trap density and suppressing nonradiative recombination.Meanwhile,MACl also promotes the preferred face-up orientation of the(100)plane of perovskite film,which is more conducive to the transport and collection of carriers,thereby significantly improving the fill factor.As a result,a champion PCE of 23.14%and excellent longterm stability are achieved for PSCs based on the structure of ITO/SnO_(2)/FA_(1-x)MA_xPb(I_(1-y)Br_y)_3/Spiro-OMeTAD/Ag.The superior PCEs of 21.20%and 17.54%are achieved for 1.03 cm~2 PSC and 10.93 cm~2 mini-module,respectively.These results represent substantial progress in large-scale two-step sequential deposition of high-performance PSCs for practical applications.Jianhui Chang Erming Feng Hengyue Li Yang Ding Caoyu Long Yuanji Gao Yingguo Yang Chenyi Yi Zijian Zheng Junliang Yang 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,10:0
20Double Layer Composite Electrode Strategy for Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells with Excellent Reverse-Bias Stability显示文摘Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have become the represent-atives of next generation of photovoltaics;nevertheless,their stability is insufficient for large scale deployment,particularly the reverse bias stability.Here,we propose a transparent conducting oxide(TCO)and low-cost metal composite electrode to improve the stability of PSCs without sacrificing the efficiency.The TCO can block ion migrations and chemical reactions between the metal and perovskite,while the metal greatly enhances the conductivity of the composite electrode.As a result,composite electrode-PSCs achieved a power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 23.7%(certified 23.2%)and exhibited excellent stability,maintaining 95%of the initial PCE when applying a reverse bias of 4.0 V for 60 s and over 92%of the initial PCE after 1000 h continuous light soaking.This composite electrode strategy can be extended to different combinations of TCOs and metals.It opens a new avenue for improving the stability of PSCs.Chaofan Jiang Junjie Zhou Hang Li Liguo Tan Minghao Li Wolfgang Tress Liming Ding Michael Grätzel Chenyi Yi 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,1:0
