| 1 | Simultaneous mineralization of CO_2 and recovery of soluble potassium using earth-abundant potassium feldspar显示文摘CO2 capture and storage(CCS) is an important strategy in combatting anthropogenic climate change.However,commercial application of the CCS technique is currently hampered by its high energy expenditure and costs.To overcome this issue,CO2 capture and utilization(CCU) is a promising CO2 disposal method.We,for the first time,developed a promising method to mineralize CO2 using earth-abundant potassium feldspar in order to effectively reduce CO2 emissions.Our experiments demonstrate that,after adding calcium chloride hexahydrate as an additive,the K-feldspar can be transformed to Ca-silicates at 800 C,which can easily mineralize CO2 to form stable calcium carbonate and recover soluble potassium.The conversion of this process reached 84.7%.With further study,the pretreatment temperature can be reduced to 250 C using hydrothermal method by adding the solution of triethanolamine(TEA).The highest conversion can be reached 40.1%.The process of simultaneous mineralization of CO2 and recovery of soluble potassium can be easily implemented in practice and may provide an economically feasible way to tackle global anthropogenic climate change. | XIE HePing WANG YuFei JU Yang LIANG Bin ZHU JiaHua ZHANG Ru XIE LingZhi LIU Tao ZHOU XiangGe ZENG HongMei LI Chun LU HouFang | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,1: | 16 |
| 2 | Scientific and Engineering Progress in CO_2 Minerali zation Using Industrial Waste and Natural Minerals显示文摘The issues of reducing CO_2 levels in the atmo-sphere, sustainably utilizing natural mineral resources,and dealing with indus trial waste offer challenging opportunities for sustainable development in energy and the environment. The latest advances in CO_2 mineralization technology involving natural minerals and industrial waste are summarized in this paper, with great emphasis on the advancement of fundamental science, economic evaluation, and engineering applications. We discuss several lead-ing large-scale CO_2 mineralization methodologies from a techn ical and engineering-science perspective. For each technology option, we give an overview of the technical parameters, reaction pathway, reactivity, procedural scheme, and laboratorial and pilot devices. Furthermore, we present a discussion of each technology based on experimental results and the literature. | 3 | Progress in monitoring high-temperature damage to rice through satellite and ground-based optical remote sensing显示文摘The occurrence of rice high-temperature damage (HTD) has increased with global warming. Cultivation of rice is seriously affected by the HTD in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, which directly affects food security in this region and in the whole of China. It is important to monitor and assess crop HTD using satellite remote sensing information. This paper reviews the recent development of monitoring rice HTD using optical remote sensing information. It includes the use of optical remote sensing information to obtain the regional spatial distribution of high temperatures, mixed-surface temperature retrieval for rice fields based on mixed decomposition information, the development of field and thermal infrared testing and modeling, and the satellite/ground-based remote sensing coupled method for monitoring rice HTD. | 4 | The diurnal and seasonal characteristics of urban heat island variation in Beijing city and surrounding areas and impact factors based on remote sensing satellite data显示文摘Based on the land surface temperature (LST), the land cover classification map,vegetation coverage, and surface evapotranspiration derived from EOS-MODIS satellite data, and by the use of GIS spatial analytic technique and multivariate statistical analysis method, the urban heat island (UHI) spatial distribution of the diurnal and seasonal variabilities and its driving forces are studied in Beijing city and surrounding areas in 2001. The relationships among UHI distribution and landcover categories, topographic factor, vegetation greenness, and surface evapotranspiration are analyzed. The results indicate that: (i) The significant UHI occur in Beijing city areas in the four seasons due to high heat capacity and multi-reflection of compression building, as well as with special topographic features of its three sides surrounded by mountains,especially in the summer. The UHI spatial distribution is corresponding with the urban geometry structure profile. The LST difference is approximately 4-6℃ between Beijing city and suburb areas, comparatively is 8- 10℃ between Beijing city area and outer suburb area in northwestern regions. (ii) The UHI distribution and intensity in daytime are different from nighttime in Beijing city area, the nighttime UHI is obvious. However, in the daytime, the significant UHI mainly appears in the summer, the autumn takes second place, and the UHI in the winter and the spring seem not obvious. The surface evapotranspiration in suburb areas is larger than that in urban areas in the summer, and high latent heat exchange is evident, which leads to LST difference between city area and suburb area. | 7 | Observation of efficient population of the red-emitting state from the green state by non-multiphonon relaxation in the Er31–Yb31 system显示文摘The rare earth Er^(3+) and Yb^(3+) codoped system is the most attractive for showcasing energy transfer upconversion.This system can generate green and red emissions from Er^(3+) under infrared excitation of the sensitizer Yb^(3+).It is well known that the red-emitting state can be populated from the upper green-emitting state.The contribution of multiphonon relaxation to this population is generally considered important at low excitation densities.Here,we demonstrate for the first time the importance of a previously proposed but neglected mechanism described as a cross relaxation energy transfer from Er^(3+) to Yb^(3+),followed by an energy back transfer within the same Er^(3+)–Yb^(3+) pair.A luminescence spectroscopy study of cubic Y_(2)O_(3):Er^(3+),Yb^(3+) indicates that this mechanism can be more efficient than multiphonon relaxation,and it can even make a major contribution to the red upconversion.The study also revealed that the energy transfers involved in this mechanism take place only in the nearest Er^(3+)–Yb^(3+) pairs,and thus,it is fast and efficient at low excitation densities.Our results enable a better understanding of upconversion processes and properties in the Er^(3+)–Yb^(3+) system. | Jiahua Zhang Zhendong Hao Jing Li Xia Zhang Yongshi Luo Guohui Pan | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 8 |

| 9 | Enhanced dewaterability of waste activated sludge by UV assisted ZVI-PDS oxidation显示文摘Ultraviolet(UV)assisted zero-valent iron(ZVI)-activated sodium persulfate(PDS)oxidation(UV-ZVI-PDS)was used to treat waste activated sludge(WAS)in this study.The dewaterability performance and mechanism of WAS dewatering were analyzed.The results showed that UV-ZVI-PDS can obtain better sludge dewatering performance in a wide pH range(2.0-8.0).When the molar ratio of ZVI/PDS was 0.6,UV was 254nm,PDS dosage was 200 mg/g TS(total solid),pH was 6.54,reaction time was 20 min,the CST(capillary suction time)and SRF(specific resistance to filtration)were decreased by 64.0%and 78.2%,respectively.The molar ratio of ZVI/PDS used in this paper is much lower than that of literatures,and the contents of total Fe and Fe^(2+) in sludge supernatant remained at a low level,as 3.7 mg/L and 0.0 mg/L.The analysis of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS),scanning electron microscope(SEM)and particle size distribution showed that the EPS could be effectively destroyed by UV-ZVI-PDS,the sludge flocs broken down into smaller particles,cracks and holes appeared,and then the bound water was released.At the same time,the highly hydrophilic tightly bound-EPS(TB-EPS)were converted into loosely bound EPS(LB-EPS)and soluble EPS(S-EPS).During sludge pretreated by UV-ZVI-PDS,positively charged ions,such as Fe^(2+),Fe^(3+) and H^(+),produced in the reaction system could reduce the electronegativity of sludge surface,promote sludge particles aggregation,and then enhanced the sludge dewaterability. | Yanping Zhang Tiantian Li Jiayu Tian Huichun Zhang Fen Li Jiahua Pei | 2022 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,3: | 7 |
| 10 | Molar-Tooth Structure from the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation in Lingyuan,Yanshan Region,North China,and Geological Implications显示文摘Although its origin has not yet reached a consensus so far,MTS(Molar-Tooth Structure) has been documented for more than 100 years.Current study reports a discovery of MTS from the Mesoproterozoic Wumishan Formation,Lingyuan,Yanshan Region,North China,and the features and geological implications of MTS are further discussed.Here,straitigraphic horizons of MTS's occurrences show that it was mainly located within the top part of the Wumishan Formation,i.e.,limestone unit.Four kinds of morphology of MTS,i.e.,fine fusiform,debris,ribbon,ptigmatic and nodular(irregular),were recognized and thought to be highly related to the sedimentary environments and facies.Geochemistry of MTS including oxides,trace elements and C,O and Sr isotopes indicates that the horizons of MTS-bearing is of higher Sr/Ba and Ca/Mg ratios,lower positive δ13C and highly negative δ18O values than the adjacent stratigraphic levels of rare MTS.Lithology,morphology and geochemistry of MTS in the Wumishan Formation suggest that MTS occurs mainly in shallow subtidal near the storm wave base,which is typically characterized by warm temperature,oversaturated calcium carbonate seawater and high organic productivity.Furthermore,occasional enrichment of algae bacteria here is more favorable for the calcification of calcium oozes and catalytic for MTS.C isotope composition of the Wumishan Formation and MTS of this study is well correlated with that of the Mesoproterozoic Belt Supergroup,North America and Riphean,Siberia,suggesting that MTS acts as a sedimentary record responding to global changes and is a perfect indicator in Precambrian stratigraphic correlation worldwide. | KUANG Hongwei LIU Yongqing PENG Nan LUO Shunshe LI Jiahua CEN Chao CHEN Mingpei | 2012 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,1: | 7 |

It is characterized by more complex structures of the neural arches in the dorsal vertebrae than those in Omeisaurus, but less complex than those of Euhelopus; the dorsal vertebra bears 9 laminae, forming three cavities on the lateral surface of the neural arch; the dorsal vertebral neural spines with dorsoventrally-oriented cavities are similar to those of Omeisaurus and Patagosaurus. Yuanmousaurus is more primitive than Euhelopus, but more derived than Omeisaurus. | 12 | Retrospective analysis of interventional treatment of hepatic metastasis from gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors显示文摘Objective: To analyze the angiography appearance of liver metastases from gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors(GEP-NETs),and evaluate the clinical efficacy and prognostic factors of interventional treatment for hepatic metastases.Methods: Fifty GEP-NETs patients with hepatic metastases were treated from January 2012 to December 2016,and received transarterial embolization(TAE) in the hepatic tumor or hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy(HAIC).All patients received 179 times of the intervention therapy in total.Results: Blood supplies were identified in the 50 cases with angiography,which showed that 35 cases had abundant vessels,while 15 cases had poor blood supply.Twenty-two cases were found either collateral blood supply,or portal vein invasion or arterial-portal vein fistula.The best curative efficacy was complete remission(CR)in 4 cases,partial remission(PR) in 28 cases and stable disease(SD) in 18 cases during the process of treatment.The angiography(P=0.047) and the frequency of intervention(P=0.037) showed significantly statistical difference with Kaplan-Meier analysis.The Cox analysis showed that more than 3 times of interventional therapy was an independent prognostic factor.Conclusions: Interventional treatment is safe and effective for GEP-NETs,and is beneficial to patients with main hepatic metastases after endocrine therapy. | Peng Liu Xu Zhu Jie Li Ming Lu Jiahua Leng Ying Li Jiangyuan Yu | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 4 |

| 14 | Rationale for the use of multifunctional drugs as neuroprotective agents for glaucoma显示文摘Glaucoma, the leading cause globally of irreversible blindness, is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by progressive retinal ganglion cell death. To date, no drug has been shown to prevent the retinal ganglion cell loss associated with glaucoma. Multiple mechanisms lead to ganglion cell death in glaucoma, suggesting that a neuroprotectant that has a single mode of action, like memantine, would have a limited positive effect at slowing down ganglion cell death. Conversely, simultaneously targeting several factors may be the best therapeutic approach to improve outcomes. Multifunctional drugs are fast gaining acceptance as a strategy for the treatment of complex disor-ders of the central nervous system, such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other progressive neurodegenerative diseases. | 16 | Tuning charge density of chimeric antigen receptor optimizes tonic signaling and CAR-T cell fitness显示文摘Tonic signaling of chimeric antigen receptor(CAR),i.e.,the spontaneous CAR activation in the absence of tumor antigen stimulation,is considered to be a pivotal event controlling CAR-T efficacy.However,the molecular mechanism underlying the spontaneous CAR signals remains elusive.Here,we unveil that positively charged patches(PCPs)on the surface of the CAR antigenbinding domain mediate CAR clustering and result in CAR tonic signaling.For CARs with high tonic signaling(e.g.,GD2.CAR and CSPG4.CAR),reducing PCPs on CARs or boosting ionic strength in the culture medium during ex vivo CAR-T cell expansion minimizes spontaneous CAR activation and alleviates CAR-T cell exhaustion.In contrast,introducing PCPs into the CAR with weak tonic signaling,such as CD19.CAR,results in improved in vivo persistence and superior antitumor function.These results demonstrate that CAR tonic signaling is induced and maintained by PCP-mediated CAR clustering.Notably,the mutations we generated to alter the PCPs maintain the antigen-binding affinity and specificity of the CAR.Therefore,our findings suggest that the rational tuning of PCPs to optimize tonic signaling and in vivo fitness of CAR-T cells is a promising design strategy for the nextgeneration CAR. | Jian Chen Shizhen Qiu Wentao Li Kun Wang Yu Zhang Han Yang Baichuan Liu Guangfei Li Li Li Min Chen Junjie Lan Jiahua Niu Peijie He Lei Cheng Gaofeng Fan Xin Liu Xianmin Song Chenqi Xu Haitao Wu Haopeng Wang | 2023 | Cell Research2023,33,5: | 2 |

| 18 | An Efficient Priority-Driven Congestion Control Algorithm for Data Center Networks显示文摘With the emerging diverse applications in data centers,the demands on quality of service in data centers also become diverse,such as high throughput of elephant flows and low latency of deadline-sensitive flows.However,traditional TCPs are ill-suited to such situations and always result in the inefficiency(e.g.missing the flow deadline,inevitable throughput collapse)of data transfers.This further degrades the user-perceived quality of service(QoS)in data centers.To reduce the flow completion time of mice and deadline-sensitive flows along with promoting the throughput of elephant flows,an efficient and deadline-aware priority-driven congestion control(PCC)protocol,which grants mice and deadline-sensitive flows the highest priority,is proposed in this paper.Specifically,PCC computes the priority of different flows according to the size of transmitted data,the remaining data volume,and the flows’deadline.Then PCC adjusts the congestion window according to the flow priority and the degree of network congestion.Furthermore,switches in data centers control the input/output of packets based on the flow priority and the queue length.Different from existing TCPs,to speed up the data transfers of mice and deadline-sensitive flows,PCC provides an effective method to compute and encode the flow priority explicitly.According to the flow priority,switches can manage packets efficiently and ensure the data transfers of high priority flows through a weighted priority scheduling with minor modification.The experimental results prove that PCC can improve the data transfer performance of mice and deadline-sensitive flows while guaranting the throughput of elephant flows. | Jiahua Zhu Xianliang Jiang Yan Yu Guang Jin Haiming Chen Xiaohui Li Long Qu | 2020 | China Communications2020,17,6: | 2 |
| 19 | Clinical Benefit of Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor-Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors Plus Radiotherapy for Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor-Mutated Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Retrospective Analysis on Real World Data显示文摘Objective: To investigate the benefit of epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors( TKIs)with radiotherapy in patients with EGFR mutation-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer( NSCLC),compared with TKIs alone.Methods: A total of 103 patients with stage Ⅳ EGFR-mutated NSCLC treated from February 2015 to May 2017 at Sichuan Cancer Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Fifty patients were treated with EGFR-TKIs( gefitinib or erlotinib) plus radiotherapy( the TKI +RT group) and 53 patients received EGFR-TKIs alone( the TKI group). Tumor response,survival and toxicities were compared between the two groups. Results: Median follow-up time was 11. 7 months( 2. 8-36. 3 months). The overall response rate( ORR) and disease control rate( DCR) in the TKI + RT group vs the TKI group were 62% vs 37. 7%( P = 0. 014) and 88% vs 75. 5%( P =0. 101),respectively.
