2A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif 1(ADAMTS1) expression increases in acute aortic dissection显示文摘Acute aortic dissection(AAD) is a life-threatening cardiovascular disease caused by progressive medial degeneration of the aortic wall. A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 1(ADAMTS1) is a recently identified extracellular metalloproteinase participating in the development of vascular disease, such as atherosclerosis. In the present study, we found that ADAMTS1 was significantly elevated in blood samples from AAD patients compared with patients with acute myocardial infarction and healthy volunteers. Based on these findings, we established an AAD model by infusing angiotensin II in older mice. AAD was successfully developed in aorta tissues, with an incidence of 42% after 14 days in the angiotensin II group. Macrophage and neutrophil infiltration was observed in the media of the aorta, and ADAMTS1 overexpression was found in the aorta by Western blot and immunohistochemistry. Double immunofluorescence staining showed the expression of ADAMTS1 in macrophages and neutrophils. Consistent with the upregulation of ADAMTS1 in aortic dissection tissues, versican(a proteoglycan substrate of ADAMTS1) was degraded significantly more in these tissues than in control aortic tissues. These data suggest that the increased expression of ADAMTS1 protein in macrophages and neutrophils that infiltrated aortic tissues may promote the progression of AAD by degrading versican.Yanxiang Gao Wenjing Wu Changan Yu Fangming Zhong Geng Li Wei Kong Jingang Zheng 2016Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,1:8
32D titanium carbide(MXene) electrodes with lower-F surface for high performance lithium-ion batteries显示文摘MXene has shown distinctive advantages as anode materials of lithium-ion batteries. However, local surface chemistry, which was confirmed that can block ion transfer and limit redox reaction, has a significant effect on electrochemical performance. Herein, annealing MXene under hydrogen was employed for removing-F and turning-OH to-O terminations. We demonstrate that it improves the kinetics of Li-ion transport between the electrolyte and electrode. As a result, a lower interfacial charge transfer impedance was obtained. The electrochemical measurement exhibited that a nearly 2-fold increase of specific capacity was achieved for the annealed MXene.Ming Lu Haojie Li Wenjuan Han Junnan Chen Wen Shi Jiaheng Wang Xiang-Min Meng Jingang Qi Haibo Li Bingsen Zhang Wei Zhang Weitao Zheng 2019Journal of Energy Chemistry2019,28,4:8
4Pore Structure Regulation of Carboxyethylated Microfibrillated Cellulose Films显示文摘Carboxyethylation is a recent chemical pretreatment for preparation of microfibrillated cellulose(MFC).The carboxyethylated MFC film prepared by coating method has compact structure and high mechanical properties. In order to expand its application, three approaches including using organic solvents, different drying methods and cationic additives, have been adopted in this paper to enrich and regulate the pore structure of MFC film. The results show that all the approaches can improve the pore structure but decrease the mechanical properties of MFC film. When organic solvents such as ethanol, isopropanol and n-butanol were used to replace the water in MFC suspension or pre-dried MFC film, the pore structure of films were increased.Additionally, the film obtained by freeze-drying or air-drying after freezing in liquid nitrogen or freezer has high porosity but poor strength. The best drying process is to rewet dry MFC film, freeze in liquid nitrogen and then freeze-dry.Moreover,the addition of cationic polyelectrolytes or alkene ketone dimer(AKD)in MFC suspension can also significantly increase the film's porosity.Through the above approaches, the porosity of carboxyethylated MFC film can be regulated between 20% and 90%.Meican Li Jinghuan Chen Jingang Liu Zehong Xu Yanqun Su Ruijuan Zhang Yanfen Du 2020Paper And Biomaterials2020,5,2:5

6Copy number and zygosity determination of transgenic rapeseed by droplet digital PCR显示文摘Establishing an accurate and rapid method for copy number and zygosity determination can accelerate genetic engineering research process. In this study, droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), an emerging DNA absolute quantification technology, was used to identify single-copy homozygous transgenic lines from a batch of T0 transgenic rapeseed harboring 11 exogenous elements. Copy number of exogenous gene was evaluated in T0 generation based on calculated ratio between transgene and reference CruA gene, single-copy transformants were selected for selfing followed by subsequent zygosity analysis. Single-copy homozygous transgenic plants were successfully screened out in T1 generation by ddPCR.Segregation analysis with T2 seedlings verified that identification results of ddPCR were accurate and reliable. This study provides a novel rapid and accurate method for copy number and zygosity determination in transgenic rapeseed which overcomes disadvantages of traditional Southern analysis and recently developed real-time quantitative method.Yuhua Wu Jun Li Xiaying Li Jingang Liang Yunjing Li Xinhua Zeng Gang Wu 2017Oil Crop Science2017,2,2:4
7ADAMTS-7 promotes vascular smooth muscle cells proliferation in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) proliferation and migration are pivotal for the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis and post-angioplasty restenosis. We have recently reported that a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-7(ADAMTS-7), a novel metalloproteinase, contributes directly to neointima formation by mediating VSMC migration. However, whether ADAMTS-7 affects VSMC proliferation remains unclear. In this study, we found that luminal adenoviral delivery of ADAMTS-7 aggravated intimal hyperplasia 7 d after injury, paralleled by an increased percentage of PCNA-positive cells in both intima and media. In contrast, perivascular administration of ADAMTS-7 si RNA, but not scrambled si RNA to injured arteries attenuated intimal thickening at day 7, paralleled with reduced intimal VSMC replication, without alteration of VSMC proliferation in the media. In accordance, [3H]-thymidine incorporation assay in primary cultured rat VSMCs revealed an enhanced replication rate(by 61%) upon ADAMTS-7 overexpression and retarded proliferation(by 23%) upon ADAMTS-7 si RNA administration. Our data demonstrates that ADAMTS-7 promotes VSMC proliferation both in vitro and in vivo. ADAMTS-7 may therefore serve as a novel therapeutic target for atherosclerosis and post-angioplasty restenosis.ZHANG Lu YU Fang WANG Li ZHENG JinGang DU YaoYao HUANG YaQian LIU Bo WANG Xian KONG Wei 2015Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,7:4
8Electrical tree degradation in high-voltage cable insulation:progress and challenges显示文摘High-voltage direct current(HVDC)and high-voltage alternating current(HVAC)cables are the most important equipment for high-voltage,large-capacity and long-distance power transmission.Electrical tree is a pre-breakdown phenomenon leading to failure of insulation materials, and it is the major issue that threatens the safe and stable operation of HVDC and HVAC cable systems. This study summarises and analyses the achievements in the research of electrical tree for HVDC and HVAC cables. The initiation mechanisms of the electrical tree, including Maxwell electro-mechanical stress, charge injection-extraction,charge trapping and electroluminescence theories, are elaborated for fully understanding the electrical degradation process in insulation materials. Then, the influences of the high electric field, high temperature and mechanical stress on electrical tree behaviours are discussed, and the relationship between charge transport and the electrical tree is analysed and illustrated. The suppression methods of the electrical tree are put forward by introducing inorganic and organic additives into insulation materials, and the suppression mechanisms are presented from the viewpoints of the structure-property and microscale-macroscale relationships.Recently, the electrical tree research studies are focused on the high-precision of initiation models,high-dependence of multi-physical fields and high-efficiency of suppression methods. The achievements provide theoretical support for improving the electrical performance of insulation materials, while it is a practical problem to explore their application feasibility in HVDC and HVAC cable.Jingang Su Boxue Du Jin Li Zhonglei Li 2020High Voltage2020,5,4:3
9Preparation and Characterization of Cellulose Nanofibril-Waterborne Polyurethane Composite Films显示文摘To improve the performance of polyurethane films, small amounts of cellulose nanofibrils(CNF)were physically blended with a waterborne polyurethane(WPU)emulsion, and then CNF/WPU composite films were prepared by cast-coating and drying. The particle size of the emulsions and the chemical structure, micromorphology, thermal stability, mechanical properties, and water resistance of the composite films were characterized using a Malvern laser particle size analyzer,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),thermogravimetric analysis(TGA),an electronic strength machine, water contact angle analysis(WCA),and water absorption tests, respectively. The results showed that at a low CNF content of 0.3 wt%,the particle size of the WPU emulsion and chemical structure of the film did not change significantly. In addition, the tensile strength of the composite film increased by up to 108%compared to the neat WPU film, and the thermal stability and water resistance were slightly improved. The addition of CNF greatly enhanced the tensile strength while maintaining the other original properties of the WPU film, which may greatly improve the service life and tear resistance of commercial coatings in the future.Xinqi Li Jinghuan Chen Jingang Liu Qi Chen 2023Paper And Biomaterials2023,8,1:3
10Eco-friendly PVA/Kaolin Clay Coating for Barrier Paper显示文摘The resistance of wood-fiber paper to water, grease, and water vapor is usually attained by immersing the base paper in hydrophobic oil, laminating with a plastic or metal film, or the application of a barrier coating. Oil impregnation and the addition of films may make the paper difficult to recycle or persistent in the environment owing to their strong binding force and nondegradability. Environmental concerns have attracted worldwide attention to eco-friendly barrier coatings. In this study, degradable polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) and kaolin clay pigment were used to prepare coatings that were applied to a base paper. By measuring the barrier properties of the coated paper, including the water absorptiveness(Cobb60 value), Hercules sizing degree, oil resistance(Kit rating), and water vapor transmission rate(WVTR), an optimal coating formulation and process were proposed. To examine the barrier mechanism of the PVA/kaolin clay coating, we characterized the coating microstructures using a scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and a mercury porosimeter. The results showed that the Cobb60 value and water vapor transmission rate of the coated paper decreased by 61.4% and 98.6%, respectively, compared with the base paper, for a pre-coating weight of 0.98 g/m^2 and a top-coating weight of about 3.23 g/m^2. Furthermore, the Hercules sizing degree rose by a factor of 337.2, while the oil resistance(Kit rating) increased from 0 to 12. The optimum drying temperature for a wet coating layer was found to be 170℃, and the optimum weight ratio of PVA to kaolin clay in the coating was determined to be 50∶50. It was assumed that the PVA/kaolin clay coating improved the smoothness of the paper considerably and decreased the pore size by filling the pores on the paper surface and forming an even film, thus enhancing the paper barrier performance. The coated paper also exhibited good repulpability.YanFen Du JinGang Liu JiaFu Wang YanQun Su HongCai Li BiSong wang RuiJuan Zhang 2017Paper And Biomaterials2017,2,2:3

13Vehicle's fuel consumption of car-following models显示文摘Many car-following models with their own merits have been proposed to explore various traffic problems, but researchers have rarely used vehicle's performance to evaluate them.In this paper,we study each vehicle's fuel consumption of the optimal velocity model, full velocity difference model, full velocity and acceleration difference model and the car-following model with consideration of the traffic interruption probability under two traffic situations, respectively. The numerical results show that the car-following model with consideration of traffic interruption probability can reduce vehicle's fuel consumption in the two studied traffic situations and thus improve the vehicle's fuel economy.TANG TieQiao LI JinGang WANG YunPeng YU GuiZhen 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,5:2
14Light-driven single-cell rotational adhesion frequency assay显示文摘The interaction between cell surface receptors and extracellular ligands is highly related to many physiological processes in living systems. Many techniques have been developed to measure the ligand-receptor binding kinetics at the single-cell level. However, few techniques can measure the physiologically relevant shear binding affinity over a single cell in the clinical environment. Here,we develop a new optical technique, termed single-cell rotational adhesion frequency assay(scRAFA),that mimics in vivo cell adhesion to achieve label-free determination of both homogeneous and heterogeneous binding kinetics of targeted cells at the subcellular level. Moreover, the scRAFA is also applicable to analyze the binding affinities on a single cell in native human biofluids. With its superior performance and general applicability,scRAFA is expected to find applications in study of the spatial organization of cell surface receptors and diagnosis of infectious diseases.Yaoran Liu Hongru Ding Jingang Li Xin Lou Mingcheng Yang Yuebing Zheng 2022eLight2022,2,1:2

16Mechanism of improving skin barrier function in a mouse model of atopic dermatitis using Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction and its disassembled formula显示文摘Objective: To reveal the mechanism of Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction and its disassembled formula for improving the skin barrier function in a mouse model of atopic dermatitis(AD).Methods: Sixty specific-pathogen free male BALB/c mice were randomly divided into the control group, model group, whole formula group(WF), exterior-releasing formula group(ERF), interior-clearing formula group(ICF), and positive control group(PC). A mouse model of AD was established using the semiantigen 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene induction method. The lesion scores, transepidermal water loss and p H, and skin histopathology of mice in each group were observed. The expressions of filaggrin, loricrin, and involucrin were detected by the streptavidin peroxidase immunohistochemical method and western blotting, and their mRNA expressions were detected by quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Results: Mice in the WF, ERF, ICF, and PC groups showed reduced skin lesion performance, improved histopathology, decreased skin lesion score, transepidermal water loss and pH, and upregulated expressions of proteins including filaggrin, loricrin, and involucrin, and their mRNAs. The most obvious regulatory effect was observed in the WF group, followed by the ICF, ERF, and PC groups, accordingly. Conclusions: Mahuang Lianqiao Chixiaodou decoction and its disassembled formula can improve the skin barrier function in a mouse model of AD by upregulating filaggrin, loricrin, and involucrin, and their mRNA expressions, and the most optimal effect was noted in the WF group, followed by the ICF and ERF groups, which suggests that the effect of clearing heat and resolving dampness in improving the skin barrier function of AD is more obvious and is one of the key treatments for AD.Jingang Liu Yan Sun Huimin Yuan Yuda Li Jing Feng Yushan Gao Yang Tang Shujing Zhang Hang Wang Fengjie Zheng 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,4:2
17Enrichment of Cd^(2+) from water with a calcium alginate hydrogel filtration membrane显示文摘A new method was developed for effective enrichment of Cd2+ ions from water with a calcium alginate(CaAlg) hydrogel filtration membrane. First, the CaAlg hydrogel filtration membrane was prepared without a pore-forming agent. This membrane was used to remove Cd^(2+) via ion exchange with Ca^(2+), and the Cd^(2+) was preserved in the CaAlg hydrogel. Then, the CaAlg hydrogel containing Cd^(2+) was soaked in a sodium citrate solution, and the hydrogel was fully dissolved. The removal rate of the CaAlg filtration membrane reached almost 100% within 120 min when the Cd^(2+) concentration was under 1 mg/L. Factors affecting the removal rate were investigated, such as NaAlg concentration, operating pressure, operating time and the initial concentration of Cd^(2+). The effects of initial Cd^(2+) concentration, pressure and filtration time on the enrichment factor were also investigated. The results show that the enrichment factor reached 87.3 when the pressure was 0.18 MPa and the filtration time was 240 min. Different enrichment factors could be achieved by adjusting the operating pressure and filtration time.ZHAO YuJie ZHAO KongYin LI Ye LIU Liang ZHANG XinXin LI JinGang CHEN Min WANG XiaoLei 2018Science China(Technological Sciences)2018,61,3:2
18Biologically inspired silk fibroin grafted polyacrylonitrile filtration membrane prepared in ZnCl_2 aqueous solution显示文摘In this study, biologically inspired silk fibroin grafted polyacrylonitrile(SF-g-PAN) filtration membrane was prepared using ZnCl_2 aqueous solution as solvent, avoiding the use of organic solvents. Phase inversion occurred when Zn^(2+)and Cl-ions gradually diffused into water, creating a well-connected ion channel network and the SF-g-PAN filtration membrane was obtained. The membranes were observed by SEM and 3D ultra-depth microscope. The hydrophilic property, pore size distribution and dye rejection of the membrane were investigated. Results showed that the membrane has no finger hole formation because ZnCl_2 aqueous solution has a lower curing rate parameter compared with organic solvents. SF-gPAN membrane possessed good anti-fouling properties and pH sensitivity. The pore size distribution of the SF-g-PAN membrane was 0.25–1.04 nm. The rejection of direct yellow 27(Mw = 662.6) and amaranth(Mw = 604.5) was 96.51% and 30.63%, with the flux of 72.32 L m^(-2) h^(-1) and 73.83 L m^(-2) h^(-1) respectively at0.1 MPa. The SF-g-PAN membrane has a wide range of applications prospect in fine separation, dye desalination, waste water treatment and biomedical fields.Jingang Li Shuwen Li Xiaohui Wang Fan Fan Kongyin Zhao Junfu Wei Linhua Zhang Dunwan Zhu 2019Chinese Chemical Letters2019,30,1:2
19Cartilage oligomeric matrix protein is an endogenous β-arrestin-2-selective allosteric modulator of AT1 receptor counteracting vascular injury显示文摘Compelling evidence has revealed that biased activation of G protein-coupled receptor(GPCR)signaling, including angiotensin II(AngII)receptor type 1(AT1)signaling,plays pivotal roles in vascular homeostasis and injury, but whether a clinically relevant endogenous biased antagonism of AT1 signaling exists under physiological and pathophysiological conditions has not been clearly elucidated. Here,we show that an extracellular matrix protein, cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP),acts as an endogenous allosteric biased modulator of the AT1 receptor and its deficiency is clinically associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm(AAA)development.COMP directly interacts with the extracellular N-terminus of the AT1 via its EGF domain and inhibits AT1-β-arrestin-2 signaling, but not Gq or Gi signaling,in a selective manner through allosteric regulation of AT1 intracellular conformational states.COMP deficiency results in activation of AT1a-β-arrestin-2 signaling and subsequent exclusive AAA formation in response to AngII infusion.AAAs in COMP–/–or ApoE–/–mice are rescued by AT1a orβ-arrestin-2 deficiency,or the application of a peptidomimetic mimicking the AT1-binding motif of COMP.Explorations of the endogenous biased antagonism of AT1 receptor or other GPCRs may reveal novel therapeutic strategies for cardiovascular diseases.Yi Fu Yaqian Huang Zhao Yang Yufei Chen Jingang Zheng Chenfeng Mao Zhiqing Li Zhixin Liu Bing Yu Tuoyi Li Meili Wang Chanjuan Xu Yiwei Zhou Guizhen Zhao Yiting Jia Wei Guo Xin Jia Tao Zhang Li Li Ziyi Liu Shengchao Guo Mingliang Ma Heng Zhang Bo Liu Junbao Du Wengong Wang Chaoshu Tang Pei Gao Qingbo Xu Xian Wang Jianfeng Liu Jinpeng Sun Wei Kong 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:2
20Preparation of Ultrafine Starch Particle and its Application in Paper Coating显示文摘Despite its biodegradability, adequate cohesive strength and comparatively low cost, the use of cooked starch as a paper coating binder is limited due to its high viscosity and serious negative impact on the gloss. Starch-based bio-latex with size in the nanometer or sub-micrometer range has been developed recently to overcome these shortcomings. In this study, ultrafine starch particle(UFSP) was prepared by mechanical milling using a DYNO mill in combination with light chemical pretreatment. Model coating colors containing different dosages of UFSP were applied to base paper and the properties of the coated papers were evaluated. The results showed that the UFSP was disc-shaped with a median particle diameter of 167 nm. Water retention capacity of the coating colors was improved considerably with the addition of UFSP, i.e., the water retention value decreased by nearly 40% when styrene-butadiene latex was replaced by UFSP at a dosage of 3 pph(per hundred parts of pigment). The high shear rate viscosities of the coating colors containing no more than 2 pph of USFP were similar to that of the control coating color at shear strain rate higher than 2000 s^(-1). The properties and performances of the coated papers were comparable to the control coated paper with single synthesized latex binder. The gloss and the print gloss of paper samples with or without USFP were 59.7% and 58.2%, 79.0% and 78.8%, respectively. Surface strength of paper samples with or without USFP were 0.96 and 0.90 m/s, respectively, while the ink absorptivity values were 34% and 33%. This study demonstrates a promising approach to obtain submicrometer sized starch for paper coating.JinGang Liu JiaFu Wang YanFen Du BiSong Wang HongCai Li YanQun Su JingHuan Chen 2017Paper And Biomaterials2017,2,1:2
