1Influence of microwave treatment under a hydrogen or methane atmosphere on the flotability of the macerals in Shenfu coals显示文摘The modification of Shenfu coals by a microwave treatment carried out under a hydrogen or a methane atmosphere, and the subsequent maceral separation by flotation, are described in this paper. The surface contact angle and the Zeta potential of the coal macerals were measured both with and without the treat- ment. The results show that the surface wettability of SFF (Shenfu Fusain) and SFV (Shenfu Vitrain) can be changed by the microwave treatment. An increase in the difference in surface wettability of SFF and SFV causes in a subsequent increase in the enrichment of inertinite and vitrinite. 2Towards a universal organogelator:A general mixing approach to fabricate various organic compounds into organogels显示文摘Low-molecular-weight organogels(LMOG) have been attracting a surge interest in fabricating soft materials.Although the finding of the gelator molecules has been developed from serendipity to objective design,the achievement of the gelator molecules still needs good design and tedious organic synthesis.In this paper,we proposed a simple and general mixing approach to get the organogel for nearly all the organic compounds and even soluble nanoparticles without any modification.We have designed a universal gelator molecule,which forms organogels with more than 40 kinds of organic solvents from aploar to polar solvents.More interestingly,when other organic compounds or even nanomaterials,which are soluble in certain organic solvents,are mixed with this gelator molecule,they can form organogels no matter whether the individual compounds could form organogel or not.This method is applicable to nearly all kinds of soluble organic compounds and opens an efficient and universal way to fabricate gel materials.DUAN PengFei LI YuanGang JIANG Jian WANG TianYu LIU MingHua 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,7:5
3Exosomes rewire the cartilage microenvironment in osteoarthritis:from intercellular communication to therapeutic strategies显示文摘Osteoarthritis(OA)is a prevalent degenerative joint disease characterized by cartilage loss and accounts for a major source of pain and disability worldwide.However,effective strategies for cartilage repair are lacking,and patients with advanced OA usually need joint replacement.Better comprehending OA pathogenesis may lead to transformative therapeutics.Recently studies have reported that exosomes act as a new means of cell-to-cell communication by delivering multiple bioactive molecules to create a particular microenvironment that tunes cartilage behavior.Specifically,exosome cargos,such as noncoding RNAs(ncRNAs)and proteins,play a crucial role in OA progression by regulating the proliferation,apoptosis,autophagy,and inflammatory response of joint cells,rendering them promising candidates for OA monitoring and treatment.This review systematically summarizes the current insight regarding the biogenesis and function of exosomes and their potential as therapeutic tools targeting cell-to-cell communication in OA,suggesting new realms to improve OA management.Yuangang Wu Jiao Li Yi Zeng Wenchen Pu Xiaoyu Mu Kaibo Sun Yong Peng Bin Shen 2022International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,3:4
4The epigallocatechin gallate derivative Y_6 reverses drug resistance mediated by the ABCB1 transporter both in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Previously, we reported that Y_6, a new epigallocatechin gallate derivative, is efficacious in reversing doxorubicin(DOX)–mediated resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7404/DOX cells. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of Y_6 in reversing drug resistance both in vitro and in vivo by determining its effect on the adenosine triphosphate-binding cassette protein B1 transporter(ABCB1 or P-glycoprotein, P-gp). Our results showed that Y_6 significantly sensitized cells overexpressing the ABCB1 transporter to anticancer drugs that are ABCB1 substrates. Y_6 significantly stimulated the adenosine triphosphatase activity of ABCB1. Furthermore, Y_6 exhibited a higher docking score as compared with epigallocatechin gallate inside the transmembrane domain of ABCB1. In addition, in the nude mousetumor xenograft model, Y_6(110 mg/kg, intragastric administration), in combination with doxorubicin(2 mg/kg, intraperitoneal injection), significantly inhibited the growth of BEL-7404/DOX cell xenograft tumors, compared to equivalent epigallocatechin gallate. 17Eight-year trajectories of malalignment progression in symptomatic knee osteoarthritis显示文摘Background: Although various therapies have been developed to treat malalignment in osteoarthritic knees, the pattern of malalignment progression is still unclear. This study aimed to identify homogeneous subgroups with distinct trajectories of malalignment progression in subjects with symptomatic knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and to determine corresponding risk factors.Methods: Eight-year follow-up (from 2004 to 2012) data on 1252 participants with symptomatic KOA from the Osteoarthritis Initiative were included. Varus/valgus angle progression was characterized by group-based trajectory models. Time-varying covariates were introduced into the model to investigate how they affected trajectories. Multinomial logistic regression for trajectory group membership was applied to ascertain risk factors.Results: Five subgroups were identified. Participants in the varus worsening trajectory (n = 166) or valgus worsening trajectory (n = 118) proceeded to worsen malalignment over time. The neutral trajectory (n = 378), varus stable trajectory (n = 328), and valgus stable trajectory (n = 262) maintained close to the initial varus/valgus angle over 8 years. Higher baseline Kellgren and Lawrence grade (odds ratio [OR] = 4.35,P < 0.001 for varus;OR= 3.85,P < 0.001 for valgus) and 'severe' baseline malalignment (OR = 13.57,P < 0.001 for varus;OR = 23.04,P < 0.001 for valgus) were risk factors for worsening trajectories. The cutoff point of the baseline varus/valgus angle to discriminate between stable or worsening trajectory was -4.5° for varus and 3.6° for valgus.Conclusions: This study identified the malalignment progression pattern - minor malalignment (-4.5° to +3.6°) tends to remain stable, while major baseline malalignment is likely to progress. 20Tunable optical topological transitions of plasmon polaritons in WTe_(2) van der Waals films显示文摘Naturally existing in-plane hyperbolic polaritons and the associated optical topological transitions,which avoid the nano-structuring to achieve hyperbolicity,can outperform their counterparts in artificial metasurfaces.Such plasmon polaritons are rare,but experimentally revealed recently in WTe_(2)van der Waals thin films.Different from phonon polaritons,hyperbolic plasmon polaritons originate from the interplay of free carrier Drude response and interband transitions,which promise good intrinsic tunability.However,tunable in-plane hyperbolic plasmon polariton and its optical topological transition of the isofrequency contours to the elliptic topology in a natural material have not been realized.Here we demonstrate the tuning of the optical topological transition through Mo doping and temperature.The optical topological transition energy is tuned over a wide range,with frequencies ranging from 429 cm^(−1)(23.3 microns)for pure WTe_(2)to 270 cm^(−1)(37.0 microns)at the 50%Mo-doping level at 10 K.Moreover,the temperature-induced blueshift of the optical topological transition energy is also revealed,enabling active and reversible tuning.Surprisingly,the localized surface plasmon resonance in skew ribbons shows unusual polarization dependence,accurately manifesting its topology,which renders a reliable means to track the topology with far-field techniques.Our results open an avenue for reconfigurable photonic devices capable of plasmon polariton steering,such as canaling,focusing,and routing,and pave the way for low-symmetry plasmonic nanophotonics based on anisotropic natural materials.Yuangang Xie Chong Wang Fucong Fei Yuqi Li Qiaoxia Xing Shenyang Huang Yuchen Lei Jiasheng Zhang Lei Mu Yaomin Dai Fengqi Song Hugen Yan 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,9:0
