2Trabecular-like Ti-6Al-4V scaffolds for orthopedic: fabrication by selective laser melting and in vitro biocompatibility显示文摘Porous metal scaffolds play an important role in the orthopedic field, due to their wide applications in prostheses implantation. Some previous studies showed that the scaffolds with trabecular bone structure reconstructed via computed tomography had satisfactory biocompatibility. However, the reverse modeling scaffolds were inflexible for customized design. Therefore, a top-down designing biomimetic bone scaffold with favorable mechanical performances and cytocompatibility is urgently demanded for orthopedic implants. An emerging additive manufacturing technique, selective laser melting, was employed to fabricate the trabecular-like porous Ti-6Al-4 V scaffolds with varying irregularities(0.05-0.5) and porosities(48.83%–74.28%) designed through a novel Voronoi-Tessellation based method. Micro-computed tomography and scanning electron microscopy were used to characterize the scaffolds’ morphology.Quasi-static compression tests were performed to evaluate the scaffolds’ mechanical properties. The MG63 cells culture in vitro experiments, including adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation, were conducted to study the cytocompatibility of scaffolds. Compressive tests of scaffolds revealed an apparent elastic modulus range of 1.93–5.24 GPa and an ultimate strength ranging within 44.9–237.5 MPa, which were influenced by irregularity and porosity, and improved by heat treatment. Furthermore, the in vitro assay suggested that the original surface of the SLM-fabricated scaffolds was favorable for osteoblasts adhesion and migration because of micro scale pores and ravines. The trabecular-like porous scaffolds with full irregularity and higher porosity exhibited enhanced cells proliferation and osteoblast differentiation at earlier time, due to their preferable combination of small and large pores with various shapes. 3Preparation and characterization of nanostructured Al_2O_3-13wt.%TiO_2 ceramic coatings by plasma spraying显示文摘Nanostructured and conventional Al2O3-13wt.%TiO2 ceramic coatings were prepared by plasma spraying with nanostructured agglomerated and conventional powders, respectively. The microstructure and microhardness of the coatings were investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and microhardness measurement. Meanwhile, the friction and wear behaviors were analyzed and compared using a ball-on-disk tribometer. The results show that the conventional coating has lamellar stacking characteristic and has some pores. However, the nanostructured coating shows a bimodal microstructure, which is composed of both fully melted regions and partially melted regions. According to the microstructural difference, the partially melted regions can be divided into liquid-phase sintered regions (a three-dimensional net or skeleton-like structure: Al2O3-rich submicron particles embedded in the TiO2-rich matrix) and solid-phase sintered regions (remained nanoparticles). The microstructural characteristics of the liquid-phase sintered region are formed due to the selective melting of TiO2 nanoparticles during plasma spraying. On the other hand, the TiO2 and Al2O3 nanoparticles of the solid-phase sintered regions are all unmelted during plasma spraying. 4Real-Time Implementation for Reduced-Complexity LDPC Decoder in Satellite Communication显示文摘In this paper,it has proposed a realtime implementation of low-density paritycheck(LDPC) decoder with less complexity used for satellite communication on FPGA platform.By adopting a(2048.4096)irregular quasi-cyclic(QC) LDPC code,the proposed partly parallel decoding structure balances the complexity between the check node unit(CNU) and the variable node unit(VNU) based on min-sum(MS) algorithm,thereby achieving less Slice resources and superior clock performance.Moreover,as a lookup table(LUT) is utilized in this paper to search the node message stored in timeshare memory unit,it is simple to reuse and save large amount of storage resources.The implementation results on Xilinx FPGA chip illustrate that,compared with conventional structure,the proposed scheme can achieve at last 28.6%and 8%cost reduction in RAM and Slice respectively.The clock frequency is also increased to 280 MHz without decoding performance deterioration and convergence speed reduction.WANG Yongqing LIU Donglei SUN Lida WU Siliang 2014China Communications2014,11,12:4
5Unusual dinosaur trackway preservation as clues to paleo-landscape and behavior from the Lower Cretaceous Luohe Formation,Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘Poorly preserved tracks have limited ichnotaxonomic or biotaxon utility,but may reveal useful information about the paleoenvironment,behavior and track taphonomy.Eight mostly parallel to sub parallel trackway segments(T1–T8)were registered on a truncation surface in the Lower Cretaceous Luohe Formation of Shaanxi Province.These attest to the passage of several bipeds,probably all theropods,in a paleo-contour-parallel,south-north direction in an arid setting.Quality of preservation in these trackways is poor,but notably superior in two additional trackways(T9–T10)on a foreset surface.Trackway T9 indicates a didactyl trackmaker,probably a deinonychosaurian,heading north to south.This is the 13th report of deinonychosaurian tracks from the Lower Cretaceous of China.If any or all the eight south-north oriented trackway segments represent continuations of other segments in the same trackways,the total number of individual trackmakers heading in this direction may have been as lowas three.Although the trackway pattern and sedimentological evidence could indicate a physically controlled pathway influencing the direction taken by these trackmakers,the possibility that the trackways also represented small social or gregarious group cannot be ruled out.Lida Xing Martin G.Lockley Yongzhong Tang Hendrik Klein W.Scott Persons IV Miaoyan Wang Xingwen Li Hao Wu 2021Geoscience Frontiers2021,12,2:2
6Review on the corrosion-promotion activity of graphene and its inhibition显示文摘Graphene films(GFs) and graphene-reinforced nanocomposite coatings(GNCs) have received unprecedented attention for corrosion protection because graphene possesses a remarkable chemical inertness and is completely impermeable to aggressive chemicals. However, the high electric conductivity and positive potential of graphene make graphene-based metal protectors tend to exhibit an undesirable high corrosion-promotion activity(CPA), which is widely known as the phenomenon that graphene connecting with metal accelerates the corrosion of metal substrate by inducing micro-galvanic corrosion at the defect sites of GFs or GNCs in aggressive environments. Therefore, inhibiting the CPA of graphene is currently a key focus for the application of graphene in the field of corrosion protection. 9Braincase Anatomy of the Basal Theropod Sinosaurus from the Early Jurassic of China显示文摘The neuroanatomy of the mid-sized theropod Sinosaurus triassicus from the Lower Jurassic Lufeng Formation, Lufeng Basin in Yunnan Province, China was studied using X-ray computed tomography. The braincase is characterized by a large supraoccipital knob that is capped by a posterior projection of the parietal and two external foramina for the caudal middle cerebral vein, which is completely enclosed by the supraoccipital. The basicranium has well defined, short basipterygoid processes that project ventral to the basal tubera. The basisphenoid is expanded, projects posteroventrally, and is pierced by four pneumatic recesses. The endocranial morphology resembles that observed in other basal theropods—in particular some allosauroids—and has a strongly marked pontine flexure and a large dorsal expansion. The inner ear morphology is also similar to that observed in other basal theropods, with slender semicircular canals.
