| 3 | Impact of seasonal water-level fluctuations on autumn vegetation in Poyang Lake wetland,China显示文摘Water level fluctuations (WLF) are natural patterns that are necessary for the survival of various plants,and WLF guarantee both the productivity and the biodiversity of wetlands.However,the underlying mechanisms of how changes in vegetation are linked to seasonal WLF remain unclear.Using vegetation and hydrological data from 1989 to 2009,we identified the key seasonal fluctuations and their impacts on vegetation in the Poyang Lake wetland by utilizing a tree-based hierarchical model.According to our results: 1) WLF in summer had significant impacts on both sedges and reeds.The severe summer floods promoted the expansion of sedges,while they inhibited the expansion of reeds;2) WLF in autumn also greatly impacted sedges,while reeds were severely affected in spring.Specifically,we found that low water levels in autumn led to the expansion of sedges,and low water levels in spring led to the expansion of reeds.The results were well corroborated through comparisons of the vegetation distribution patterns over the last two decades (i.e.,the 1990s and 2000s),which may shed light on corresponding water resource and wetland management. | Xue DAI Rongrong WAN Guishan YANG Xiaolong WANG Ligang XU Yanyan LI Bing LI | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,2: | 3 |

| 5 | Energy hub-based optimal planning for integrated energy systems considering part-load characteristics and synergistic effect of equipment显示文摘Integrated energy systems(lESs)represent a promising energy supply model within the energy internet.However,multi-energy flow coupling in the optimal configuration of IES results in a series of simplifications in the preliminary planning,affecting the cost,efficiency,and environmental performance of IES.A novel optimal planning method that considers the part-load characteristics and spatio-temporal synergistic effects of IES components is proposed to enable a rational design of the structure and size of IES.An extended energy hub model is introduced based on the“node of energy hub”concept by decomposing the IES into different types of energy equipment.Subsequently,a planning method is applied as a two-level optimization framework-the upper level is used to identify the type and size of the component,while the bottom level is used to optimize the operation strategy based on a typical day analysis method.The planning problem is solved using a two-stage evolutionary algorithm,combing the multiple-mutations adaptive genetic algorithm with an interior point optimization solver,to minimize the lifetime cost of the IES.Finally,the feasibility of the proposed planning method is demonstrated using a case study.The life cycle costs of the IES with and without consideration of the part-load characteristics of the components were$4.26 million and$4.15 million,respectively,in the case study.Moreover,ignoring the variation in component characteristics in the design stage resulted in an additional 11.57%expenditure due to an energy efficiency reduction under the off-design conditions. | Chengzhou Li Yongping Yang Zhuo Wang Ningling Wang Ligang Wang Zhiping Yang | 2021 | Global Energy Interconnection2021,4,2: | 3 |
| 6 | Hetero MOF-on-MOF-derived carbon nanotube interconnected nitrogen-doped carbon-encapsulated FeNi/FeF2 for efficient oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Heterostructures derived from metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)with multicomponent synergism are significant in the energy conversion and catalysis reactions.Herein,we demonstrated such an efficient catalyst with the structure of self-catalyzed nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube interconnected FeNi/FeF2 derived from hetero-zeolite imidazolate frameworks 8(ZIF-8)on Fe2Ni MIL(MIL represents Materials of Institut Lavoisier)for oxygen evolution reaction.The obtained catalyst showed efficient synergism of the multicomponents,high polarity,more active sites exposure,increased intrinsic activity,and improved conductivity and stability by a carbon interconnected and confined structure as revealed by the spectroscopic analysis and electrochemical measurements.It required an overpotential of only ca.240mV(no iR correction)to reach the current density of 10mAcm^(−2) in a KOH solution when loaded on an inert glass carbon electrode,much better than similar kinds of catalysts.The improved catalytic performance can be well correlated to the structural transformation step by step from different MOFs to their derivatives by subsequent carbonation and fluorination.Because of the above-mentioned structural advantages,good catalysis performance of high activity and stability,faster catalytic kinetics,and facile active phase formation were observed compared to those of other similar materials.This work offers a new platform of derivatives from hetero MOF-on-MOF for catalysis reactions. | Yang Zhou Hui Liu Xiaocong Gu Xiang Wu Ligang Feng | 2022 | Carbon Energy2022,4,5: | 2 |

| 9 | Cobalt diselenide (001) surface with short-range Co-Co interaction triggering high-performance electrocatalytic oxygen evolution显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction (OER) still suffers from the bottleneck in electrocatalytic water splitting. Herein, in virtue of volcano plots drawn by theoretical calculation, the (001) facet was screened as the superb facet of orthorhombic CoSe_(2) for OER. Afterwards, CoSe_(2)(001) nanosheets were synthesized and the exposure ratio of (001) facet is controllable with thermodynamics methods effectively. The single-facet CoSe2(001) delivered an overpotential as low as 240 mV at 10 mA·cm^(−2) in 1 M KOH, which outperformed the bulk (380 mV) as well as other CoSe_(2)-base OER catalysts reported before. Especially, a shorter Co-Co path was observed in CoSe_(2)(001) by X-ray absorption spectroscopy. Further density functional theory (DFT) studies revealed that the reversible compression on the shorter Co-Co path could regulate the electronic structure of active sites during the OER process, and thus the energy barrier of the rate-determining step was reduced by 0.15 eV. | 19 | Discretizing Laplace–Beltrami Operator from Differential Quantities显示文摘The Laplace–Beltrami operator(LBO)is the fundamental geometric object associated with manifold surfaces and has been widely used in various tasks in geometric processing.By understanding that the LBO can be computed by differential quantities,we propose an approach for discretizing the LBO on manifolds by estimating differential quantities.For a point on the manifold,we first fit a quadratic surface to this point and its neighborhood by minimizing the least-square energy function.Then we compute the first-and second-order differential quantities by the approximated quadratic surface.Finally the discrete LBO at this point is computed from the estimated differential quantities and thus the Laplacian matrix over the discrete manifold is constructed.Our approach has several advantages:it is simple and efficient and insensitive to noise and boundaries.Experimental results have shown that our approach performs better than most of the current approaches.We also propose a feature-aware scheme for modifying the Laplacian matrix.The modified Laplacian matrix can be used in other feature preserving geometric processing applications. | Ruimin Wang Zhouwang Yang Ligang Liu Qing Chen | 2013 | Communications in Mathematics and Statistics2013,1,3: | 1 |
| 20 | Pay-it-forward gonorrhea and chlamydia testing among men who have sex with men in China:a study protocol for a three-arm cluster randomized controlled trial显示文摘Background:Gonorrhea and chlamydia testing rates are poor among Chinese men who have sex with men(MSM).A quasi-experimental study suggested that a pay-it-forward strategy increased dual gonorrhea/chlamydia testing among MSM.Pay-it-forward offers an individual a gift(e.g.,a free test)and then asks the same person if they would like to give a gift to another person.This article reports the protocol of a randomized controlled trial to evaluate dual gonorrhea/chlamydia test uptake and other outcomes among MSM in three arms-a pay-it-forward arm,a pay-what-you-want arm,and a standard of care arm.Methods:Three hundred MSM will be recruited at three HIV testing sites in Guangzhou and Beijing.Testing sites include two hospital-based MSM sexually transmitted diseases clinics and one MSM community-based organization.Eligible participants will be born biologically male,aged 16 years or older,reporting previous anal sex with another man,having never participated in the pay-it-forward program,without previous gonorrhea and chlamydia testing in the past 12 months,and residing in China.Following a cluster randomized design,every cluster of ten participants will be randomly allocated into one of three arms:(1)a pay-it-forward arm in which men are offered free gonorrhea and chlamydia testing and then asked whether they would like to donate('pay it forward')toward testing for future testers;(2)a pay-what-you-want arm in which men are offered free testing and told to decide how much to pay after receiving the test;(3)a standard of care arm in which men can pay the full price for dual gonorrhoea and chlamydia testing.The primary outcome is dual gonorrhoea/chlamydia testing as verified by administrative records.Secondary outcomes include incremental cost per test,incremental cost per diagnosis,community connectedness,and social cohesion.Primary outcome will be calculated for each arm using intention-to-treat and compared using one-sided 95%confidence intervals with a margin of 20%increase defined as superiority.Discussion:This study will examine the pay-it-forward strategy in comparison to the standard of care in improving test uptake for gonorrhea and chlamydia.We will leverage the cluster randomized controlled trial to provide scientific evidence on the potential effect of pay-it-forward.Findings from this study will shed light on novel intervention methods for increasing preventive health service utilization and innovate ways to finance it among communities.Trial registration:ClinicalTrials.gov,NCT03741725.Registered on 12 November 2018. | Tiange P.Zhang Fan Yang Weiming Tang Marcus Alexander Laura Forastiere Navin Kumar Katherine Li Fei Zou Ligang Yang Guodong Mi Yehua Wang Wenting Huang Amy Lee Weizan Zhu Peter Vickerman Dan Wu Bin Yang Nicholas A.Christakis Joseph D.Tucker | 2019 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2019,8,4: | 1 |
