| 1 | Mechanism of Kinect-based virtual reality training for motor functional recovery of upper limbs after subacute stroke显示文摘The Kinect-based virtual reality system for the Xbox 360 enables users to control and interact with the game console without the need to touch a game controller,and provides rehabilitation training for stroke patients with lower limb dysfunctions.However,the underlying mechanism remains unclear.In this study,18 healthy subjects and five patients after subacute stroke were included.The five patients were scanned using functional MRI prior to training,3 weeks after training and at a12-week follow-up,and then compared with healthy subjects.The Fugl-Meyer Assessment and Wolf Motor Function Test scores of the hemiplegic upper limbs of stroke patients were significantly increased 3 weeks after training and at the 12-week follow-up.Functional MRI results showed that contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex was activated after Kinect-based virtual reality training in the stroke patients compared with the healthy subjects.Contralateral primary sensorimotor cortex,the bilateral supplementary motor area and the ipsilateral cerebellum were also activated during hand-clenching in all 18 healthy subjects.Our findings indicate that Kinect-based virtual reality training could promote the recovery of upper limb motor function in subacute stroke patients,and brain reorganization by Kinect-based virtual reality training may be linked to the contralateral sensorimotor cortex. | Xiao Bao Yurong Mao Qiang Lin Yunhai Qiu Shaozhen Chen Le Li Ryan S.Cates Shufeng Zhou Dongfeng Huang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013，8，31： | 15 |

| 3 | Experimental Studies of Melanin Associated Antigen and Its Relationship with Sympathetic Ophthalmia and Vogt-Kayanagi-Harada Syndrome显示文摘Purpose: To discuss the relationship of Bovine Melanin-Associated Antigen (BMAA) to Sympathetic Ophthalmia (SO) and Vogt-Kayanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome.Methods:BMAA was isolated and purified from bovine iris and ciliary body and MTT method was used to measure the peripheral lymphocyte reactions of SO and VKH syndrome patients to BMAA. 15 cases of SO were included in the SO group with 11 males and 4 females. The average age was 37.5, ranging from 23 to 56 years; 15 patients with VKH syndrome were included in the VHK group with 7 males and 8 females. Their average age was 37.2 years, ranging from 24 to 69 years; 20 normal individuals without ocular and systemic autoimmune diseases were included in the control group.These included 9 males and 11 females, aging from 14 to 28 with an average of 23.8 years.Results: The OD values of each group were as follows: SO controls 0.327+0.032; SO+ BMAA 0.490+0.758; SO+PHA 0.5310+0.918; VKH controls 0.328+0.503; VKH+BMAA 0.430 +0.530; VKH +PHA 0.328 +0.484;Normal controls 0.304 +0.267; Normal +BMAA 0.343+0.326; Normal+PHA 0.477+0.598. The average OD values of peripheral lymphocytes to BMAA stimulation in SO patients and normal controls were 0.490 and 0.343 respectively. The difference was statistically significant, P< 0.001; The average OD values of peripheral lymphocytes to BMAA stimulation in SO and VKH syndrome patients were 0.470 and 0.430 respectively. | 5 | Comparison of Trans-scleral Fixation of PMMA and Foldable Intraocular Lens in Children显示文摘Purpose: To observe the difference of the effects of PMMA and foldable intraocular lenses (IOLs) trans-sclerally fixed in pediatric eyes.
Methods: Thirty-two children (43 eyes) who had undergone trans-scleral fixation of IOL were retrospected, of whom 5 children were implanted PMMA IOL in both eyes, 6children were implanted PMMA IOL in one eye and foldable IOL in the other eye, 12children were implanted foldable IOL in one eye and 9 chilrden were implanted PMMA IOL in one eye. Mean age was 5.3 years ( range 2.5 ~ 12 years ). Twelve children had traumatic cataract and the others congenital cataract before lens extraction.
Results: Foldable group (18 eyes ): Mean follow-up was 12.1 months. Visual acuity (VA): compared with the best corrected VA before IOL fixation, postoperative best corrected VA improved in 16 eyes, remained unchanged in 2 eyes. In 14 eyes, one or two stitches were needed to seal the incision. Complications: Severe anterior chamber reaction was seen in 3 eyes. Intraocular bleeding was found in 3 eyes. IOL decentration was detected in 1 eye. Iris capture of IOL was seen in one eye. PMMA group (25 eyes ):Mean follow-up was 20.3 months. Visual acuity (VA): compared with the best corrected VA before IOL fixation, postoperative best corrected VA improved in 19 eyes,remained unchanged in 5 eyes and got worse in one eye. In 24 eyes, one to three stitches were needed to seal the incision. Complications: Severe anterior chamber reaction was seen in 5 eyes. Intraocular bleeding was found in 4 eyes. IOL decentration was seen in one eye. Iris capture of IOL was seen in 3 eyes. Intraocular pressure elevated in one eye.
Conclusion: Our study shows that trans-scleral fixation of IOL is a safe procedure in pediatric eyes. Foldable IOL showed similar effect compared with PMMA IOL in pediatric trans-scleral fixation. | 6 | Non-trans-scleral Suture Fixation of Posterior Chamber Intraocular Lenses in the Absence of Posterior Capsular Support显示文摘Purpose: To develop a new technique for fixation of posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) in the absence of posterior capsule support.Materials and Methods: We performed non-trans-scleral fixation of intraocular lenses on 24 cases (24 eyes) without posterior capsule support. Two scleral flaps with limbal incisions and two peripheral iridectomies were made at 1 o' clock and 7 o' clock positions respectively. A suture-leading needle was used to lead the prolene suture from the limbal incision and iridectomy on one side through the iridectomy and limbal incision on the other side. Intraocular lens (IOL) was then fixed in the ciliary sulcus. Results: After a mean follow-up of 6. 6 months (range from 3 to 14 months), corrected visual acuity of 16 cases (16 eyes,66. 7% ) got 0.5 or better. Postoperative complications included discoria (4 eyes) , surface membrane formation ( 1 eye ), choroidal detachment (1 eye) and tilt of IOL (1 eyes),but all were not severe. | 7 | Transcriptome analysis of CD4^(+)T cells from HIV-infected individuals receiving ART with LLV revealed novel transcription factors regulating HIV-1 promoter activity显示文摘Some HIV-infected individuals receiving ART develop low-level viremia(LLV),with a plasma viral load of 50-1000 copies/mL.Persistent low-level viremia is associated with subsequent virologic failure.The peripheral blood CD4^(+)T cell pool is a source of LLV.However,the intrinsic characteristics of CD4^(+)T cells in LLV which may contribute to low-level viremia are largely unknown.We analyzed the transcriptome profiling of peripheral blood CD4^(+)T cells from healthy controls(HC)and HIV-infected patients receiving ART with either virologic sup-pression(VS)or LLV.To identify pathways potentially responding to increasing viral loads from HC to VS and to LLV,KEGG pathways of differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were acquired by comparing VS with HC(VS-HC group)and LLV with VS(LLV-VS group),and overlapped pathways were analyzed.Characterization of DEGs in key overlapping pathways showed that CD4^(+)T cells in LLV expressed higher levels of Th1 signature transcription factors(TBX21),toll-like receptors(TLR-4,-6,-7 and-8),anti-HIV entry chemokines(CCL3 and CCL4),and anti-IL-1βfactors(ILRN and IL1R2)compared to VS.Our results also indicated activation of the NF-κB and TNF signaling pathways that could promote HIV-1 transcription.Finally,we evaluated the effects of 4 and 17 tran-scription factors that were upregulated in the VS-HC and LLV-VS groups,respectively,on HIV-1 promoter activity.Functional studies revealed that CXXC5 significantly increased,while SOX5 markedly suppressed HIV-1 tran-scription.In summary,we found that CD4^(+)T cells in LLV displayed a distinct mRNA profiling compared to that in VS,which promoted HIV-1 replication and r+eactivation of viral latency and may eventually contribute to virologic failure in patients with persistent LLV.CXXC5 and SOX5 may serve as targets for the development of latency-reversing agents. | Jingliang Chen Yaozu He Huolin Zhong Fengyu Hu Yonghong Li Yeyang Zhang Xia Zhang Weiyin Lin Quanmin Li Feilong Xu Shaozhen Chen Hui Zhang Weiping Cai Linghua Li | 2023 | Virologica Sinica2023，38，3： | 0 |
