12018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents显示文摘Syncope belongs to the transient loss of consciousness(TLOC), characterized by a rapid onset, short duration, and spontaneous complete recovery. It is common in children and adolescents, accounting for 1% to 2% of emergency department visits.Recurrent syncope can seriously affect children's physical and mental health, learning ability and quality of life and sometimes cardiac syncope even poses a risk of sudden death. The present guideline for the diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was developed for guiding a better clinical management of pediatric syncope. Based on the globally recent development and the evidence-based data in China, 2018 Chinese Pediatric Cardiology Society(CPCS) guideline for diagnosis and treatment of syncope in children and adolescents was jointly prepared by the Pediatric Cardiology Society, Chinese Pediatric Society, Chinese Medical Association(CMA)/Committee on Pediatric Syncope, Pediatricians Branch, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Committee on Pediatric Cardiology, Chinese College of Cardiovascular Physicians, Chinese Medical Doctor Association(CMDA)/Pediatric Cardiology Society, Beijing Pediatric Society, Beijing Medical Association(BMA). 2Multimorbidity patterns and association with mortality in 0.5 million Chinese adults显示文摘Background:Few studies have assessed the relationship between multimorbidity patterns and mortality risk in the Chinese population.We aimed to identify multimorbidity patterns and examined the associations of multimorbidity patterns and the number of chronic diseases with the risk of mortality among Chinese middle-aged and older adults.Methods:We used data from the China Kadoorie Biobank and included 512,723 participants aged 30 to 79 years.Multimorbidity was defined as the presence of two or more of the 15 chronic diseases collected by self-report or physical examination at baseline.Multimorbidity patterns were identified using hierarchical cluster analysis.Cox regression was used to estimate the associations of multimorbidity patterns and the number of chronic diseases with all-cause and cause-specific mortality.Results:Overall,15.8%of participants had multimorbidity.The prevalence of multimorbidity increased with age and was higher in urban than rural participants.Four multimorbidity patterns were identified,including cardiometabolic multimorbidity(diabetes,coronary heart disease,stroke,and hypertension),respiratory multimorbidity(tuberculosis,asthma,and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease),gastrointestinal and hepatorenal multimorbidity(gallstone disease,chronic kidney disease,cirrhosis,peptic ulcer,and cancer),and mental and arthritis multimorbidity(neurasthenia,psychiatric disorder,and rheumatoid arthritis).During a median of 10.8 years of follow-up,49,371 deaths occurred.Compared with participants without multimorbidity,cardiometabolic multimorbidity(hazard ratios[HR]=2.20,95%confidence intervals[CI]:2.14-2.26)and respiratory multimorbidity(HR=2.13,95%CI:1.97-2.31)demonstrated relatively higher risks of mortality,followed by gastrointestinal and hepatorenal multimorbidity(HR=1.33,95%CI:1.22-1.46).The mortality risk increased by 36%(HR=1.36,95%CI:1.35-1.37)with every additional disease.Conclusion:Cardiometabolic multimorbidity and respiratory multimorbidity posed the highest threat on mortality risk and deserved particular attention in Chinese adults.Junning Fan Zhijia Sun Canqing Yu Yu Guo Pei Pei Ling Yang Yiping Chen Huaidong Du Dianjianyi Sun Yuanjie Pang Jun Zhang Simon Gilbert Daniel Avery Junshi Chen Zhengming Chen Jun Lyu Liming Li On Behalf of the China Kadoorie Biobank Collaborative Group 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,6:17
3Grape Seed Proanthocyanidin Extract Alleviates Arsenic-induced Oxidative Reproductive Toxicity in Male Mice显示文摘Objective To determine the ability of grape seed proanthocyanidin extract(GSPE) in alleviating arsenic-induced reproductive toxicity. Methods Sixty male Kunming mice received the following treatments by gavage: normal saline solution(control); arsenic trioxide(ATO; 4 mg/kg); GSPE(400 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(100 mg/kg); ATO+GSPE(200 mg/kg) and ATO+GSPE(400 mg/kg). Thereafter, the mice were sacrificed and weighed, and the testis was examined for pathological changes. Nuclear factor(erythroid-derived 2)-like 2(Nrf2), heme oxygenase 1(HO1), glutathione S-transferase(GST), NAD(P)H dehydrogenase, and quinone 1(NQO1) expression in the testis was detected by real-time PCR. Superoxide dismutase(SOD), glutathione(GSH), total antioxidative capability(T-AOC), malondialdehyde(MDA), 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine(8-OHd G), and reproductive indexes were analyzed. Results ATO-treated mice showed a significantly decreased sperm count and testis somatic index and activity levels of SOD, GSH, and T-AOC than control group. Compared to the ATO-treated group, ATO +GSPE group showed recovery of the measured parameters. Mice treated with ATO+high-dose GSPE showed the highest level of m RNA expression of Nrf2, HO, NQO1, and GST. 4Concurrent stenoses: A common etiology of stroke in Asians显示文摘Atherosclerosis of cerebral vessels is a common cause of stroke. Racial differences in the distribution of cerebrovascular occlusive disease are well documented.Extracranial stenosis is more common in Caucasians,while intracranial stenosis is more common in Asians,Hispanics and African-Americans. Concurrent atherosclerosis of extracranial and intracranial vessels is common in Asians. The incidence of concurrent stenoses ranges from 10% to 48% in patients with symptomatic cerebrovascular disease. The long-term prognosis of these patients is poor and they are at high risk of further vascular events or death. 5A Quantitative Evaluation of Shale Gas Content in Different Occurrence States of the Longmaxi Formation: A New Insight from Well JY-A in the Fuling Shale Gas Field,Sichuan Basin显示文摘Comprehensive quantitative evaluation of shale gas content and the controlling factors in different occurrence states is of great significance for accurately assessing gas-bearing capacity and providing effective well-production strategies. A total of 122 core samples from well JY-A in the Fuling shale gas field were studied to reveal the characteristics of S_1 l shale,15 of which were selected to further predict the shale gas content in different occurrence states, which are dependent on geological factors in the thermal evolution process. Geological parameters were researched by a number of laboratory programs, and the factors influential in controlling shale gas content were extracted by both PCA and GRA methods and prediction models were confirmed by the BE method using SPSS software. Results reveal that the adsorbed gas content is mainly controlled by TOC, Ro, SSA, PD and pyrite content, and the free gas content is mainly controlled by S_2, quartz content, gas saturation and formation pressure for S_1 l in well JY-A. Three methods, including the on-site gas desorption method, the empirical formula method, and the multiple regression analysis method were used in combination to evaluate the shale gas capacity of well JY-A, all of which show that the overall shale gas content of well JY-A is in the range of 2.0–5.0 m^3/t and that the free gas ratio is about 50%, lower than that of well JY-1. 6Mitochondria-targeted antioxidant peptide SS-31 mediates neuroprotection in a rat experimental glaucoma model显示文摘To investigate the neuroprotective effects of the mitochondria-targeted antioxidant Szeto-Schiller peptide 31 (SS-31) in a rat experimental glaucoma model, SS-31 was intraperitoneally (IP) injected into Sprague-Dawley rats, followed by intracameral injection of polystyrene microspheres to induce elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). After 6 weeks, electroretinography (ERG) and flash visual-evoked potentials (F-VEPs) were recorded to assess retinal function. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed on retinal cross-sections to measure ganglion cell complex (GCC) thickness. Apoptotic retinal cells were assessed by TUNEL staining. Brn3a-positive retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) were counted in retinal flat mounts via immunofluorescence. The retinal total SOD, SOD2, and MDA expression levels were assessed in retinal tissue homogenates. The cyt c, Baxz and Bcl-2 protein levels in rat retinas were detected by western blot analysis. Bax and Bcl-2 expressions were also evaluated using immunohistochemistry in paraffinized sections. Our results showed that the rats that received microsphere injection developed elevated IOP. SS-31 ameliorated the reductions in the a- and b-wave amplitudes on ERG and the F-VEP amplitude in glaucomatous eyes. GCC thickness was preserved, TUNEL-positive cells were decreased in the retina, and Brn3a-positive RGCs were in creased in the SS-31-treated glaucoma group compared with those in the non-treated glaucoma group. SS-31 significantly reduced MDA levels and increased SOD2 levels after glaucoma induction. Significant suppression of cyt c release, upregulation of Bcl-2, and downregulation of Bax were observed following SS-31 administration. 10Thermal behavior analysis of a pouch type Li[Ni0.7Co0.15Mn0.15]O2-based lithium-ion battery显示文摘Since lithium-ion battery with high energy density is the key component for next-generation electrical vehicles,a full understanding of its thermal behaviors at different discharge rates is quite important for the design and thermal management of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)pack/module.In this work,a 25 Ah pouch type Li[Ni_(0.7)Co_(0.15)Mn_(0.15)]O_2/graphite LIBs with specific energy of200 Wh kg^(-1)were designed to investigate their thermal behaviors,including temperature distribution,heat generation rate,heat capacity and heat transfer coefficient with environment.Results show that the temperature increment of the charged pouch batteries strongly depends on the discharge rate and depth of discharge.The heat generation rate is mainly influenced by the irreversible heat effect,while the reversible heat is important at all discharge rates and contributes much to the middle evolution of the temperature during discharge,especially at low rate.Subsequently,a prediction model with lumped parameters was used to estimate the temperature evolution at different discharge rates of LIBs.The predicted results match well with the experimental results at all discharge rates.Therefore,the thermal model is suitable to predict the average temperature for the large-scale batteries under normal operating conditions.Feng-Ling Yun Ling Tang Wen-Cheng Li Wei-Ren Jin Jing Pang Shi-Gang Lu 2016Rare Metals2016,35,4:5
11Preparation and characterization of monodisperse spherical particles of X-ray nano-phosphors based on Gd_2O_2S:Tb显示文摘Monodisperse spherical Gd2O2S:Tb nanoparticles have been prepared using an improved homogeneous precipitation method combined with solid-gas sulfuration technology. The effects of Tb3+-doped concentration on luminescent intensity and color purity of samples were investigated, and the optimal Tb3+-doped concentration was determined. 13Genome-wide analysis identified 17 new loci influencing intraocular pressure in Chinese population显示文摘Intraocular pressure(IOP) is a major risk factor for glaucoma. Genetic determinants of intraocular pressure can provide critical insights into the genetic architecture of glaucoma and, as a result, open new avenues for therapeutic intervention. We performed a genome-wide association study and replication analysis of 8,552 Chinese participants. In the genome-wide association study, we identified 51 loci that surpassed the significance of P<9×10^(-7), and we formally replicated these loci. A combined discovery and replication meta-analysis identified 21 genome-wide loci that surpassed the genome-wide significance of P<5×10^(-8), including 4 previously reported loci: rs145063132(7 p21.2, ETV1/DGKB), rs548030386(7 q31.2, ST7 near CAV1/CAV2), rs7047871(9 p24.2, GLIS3), and rs2472494(9 q31.1, ABCA1/SLC44 A1). Of the 17 newly identified loci, five were reported to have ocular related phenotypes: PTCH2(rs7525308 in 1 p34.1), LRIF1/DRAM2(rs1282146 in 1 p13.3), COLEC11(rs201143466 in 2 p25.3),SPTBN1(rs4514918 in 2 p16.2), and CRK(rs11078446 in 17 p13.3). 14The Effect of n-Hexane on the Gonad Toxicity of Female Mice显示文摘Objective To investigate the toxic effects of n-hexane on the Ganod of female mice.Methods n-Hexane was administered to four groups of mice by inhalation at doses of 0,3.0,15.1,and 75.8 mL/m3 respectivelyfor five weeks.Each group consisted of 10 mice,of which half were injected in first with 10 IU of pregnant mare serum gonadotrophin(PMSG) on the 33rd days,and then with 10 IU of human chorionic gonadotrophin(HCG) 48 hrs later.After the treatment,mouse sera were sampled and ovulating hormone(LH),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),estradiol(E2),and progesterone(P4) levels were measured by electrochemiluminescence immunoassays(ECLIA).In each group,the right ovaries of the non-super-ovulated mice were stained with hematoxylin and eosin while ovaries on the left side were prepared with the TUNEL method in order to detect apoptotic cells.Results The duration of the diestrus stage decreased significantly(P<0.05) in the 75.8 mL/m3 group.All super-ovulated mice in each treatment group produced fewer eggs than those in the control group(P<0.05).The number of follicles in ovaries in the 75.8 mL/m3 group was smaller compared with the control group(P<0.05).The serum P4 levels in each treatment group were lower than those in the control group(F=6.196,P<0.01).The cell apoptotic rate in the 75.8 mL/m3 group was higher(P<0.05).Conclusion n-Hexane may have directly mediated via alterations hormone secretion and promoted granulosal cell apoptotic,which may be one of the important mechanisms for n-hexane induced mouse ovary impairment.LIU Jin HUANG Hui Ling PANG Fen ZHANG Wen Chang 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,2:4
15PSC-Net:learning part spatial co-occurrence for occluded pedestrian detection显示文摘Detecting pedestrians,especially under heavy occlusion,is a challenging computer vision problem with numerous real-world applications.This paper introduces a novel approach,termed as PSC-Net,for occluded pedestrian detection.The proposed PSC-Net contains a dedicated module that is designed to explicitly capture both inter and intra-part co-occurrence information of different pedestrian body parts through a graph convolutional network(GCN).Both inter and intra-part co-occurrence information contribute towards improving the feature representation for handling varying level of occlusions,ranging from partial to severe occlusions.Our PSC-Net exploits the topological structure of pedestrian and does not require part-based annotations or additional visible bounding-box(VBB)information to learn part spatial co-occurrence.Comprehensive experiments are performed on three challenging datasets:CityPersons,Caltech,and CrowdHuman datasets.Particularly,in terms of log-average miss rates and with the same backbone and input scale as those of the state-of-the-art MGAN,the proposed PSC-Net achieves absolute gains of 4.0%and 3.4%over MGAN on the heavy occlusion subsets of CityPersons and Caltech test sets,respectively.Jin XIE Yanwei PANG Hisham CHOLAKKAL Rao ANWER Fahad KHAN Ling SHAO 2021Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,2:4

17Preventive and therapeutic effectiveness of Sanfu acupoint herbal patching for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at stable stages:a systematic review and Meta-analysis显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the preventive and therapeutic effects of Sanfu acupoint herbal patching(SAHP)in adjuvant treatment in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:We had searched eight electronic databases and six major trial registries from their inception to July 2017 for randomized controlled trials(RCTs).We utilized RevMan 5.3 to evaluate the methodological quality and to perform data analyses.RESULTS:A total of 28 RCTs involving 1615 records were included in the descriptive analysis,and 25 RCTs were performed for Meta-analysis.Lung function such as forced vital capacity rate of one second FEV1/predicted%,forced vital capacity(FVC)%found no significant difference.The results of Meta-analysis showed that SAHP plus conventional therapy(CT)in the treatment of stable COPD were better than CT,in second sessions'data of FEV1,in third sessions'data of FEV1/FVC,in three sessions'data of SGRQ,in third session's data of Modified Medical Research Council and 6MWT.The symptoms of SAHP's adverse reactions seem to be mild and the incidence of that seems to be low.Descriptive analysis shows that SAHP with CT seems to improve clinical effective rate and had a certain preventive effect on acute exacerbation of COPD,which the curative effect may be better with the increase of treatment course.CONCLUSION:SAHP with CT appears to be more effective than CT or CT plus placebo only on improving the quality of life,but the effect on lung function is not obvious.Improve clinical effective rate and preventive effect is uncertainty.SAHP with CT may be used in any Grade to safely treat patients with stable COPD.The more exactly clinical effect still needs to be proved by more high-quality,large sampling,multilingual RCTs.Pang Lijian Zhang Haoyang Lu Xiaodong Liu Jianping Liu Chuang Lu Ling 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,4:3

19Blast furnace ironmaking process with super high TiO_(2) in the slag:Density and surface tension of the slag显示文摘Aiming at the process of smelting ultra-high(>80%)or even full vanadium titanomagnetite in blast furnace,we are conducting a series of works on physics character of high TiO_(2) bearing blast furnace slag(BFS)for slag optimization.This work discussed the density and surface tension of high TiO_(2) bearing BFS using the Archimedean principle and the maximum bubble pressure method,respectively.The influence of TiO_(2) content and the MgO/CaO mass ratio on the density and surface tension of CaO-SiO_(2)-TiO_(2)-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)slags were investigated Results indicated that the density of slags decreased with the TiO_(2) content increasing from 20wt%to 30wt%,but it increased slightly with the MgO/CaO mass ratio increasing from 0.32 to 0.73.In view of silicate network structure,the density and the degree of polymerization(DOP)of network structure have a consistent trend.The addition of TiO_(2) reduced(Q^(3))^(2)/(Q^(2)) ratio(Q^(2) and Q^(3) represent structural unit with bridge oxygen number of 2 and 3,respectively)and then decreased DOP,which led to the decrease of slag density.The surface tension of CaO-SiO_(2)-TiO_(2)-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3) slags decreased dramatically with the TiO_(2) content increasing from 20wt%to 30wt%.Conversely,it increased with the MgO/CaO mass ratio increasing from 0.32 to 0.73.Furthermore,the iso-surface tension lines were obtained under 1723 K using the Tanaka developed model in view of Butler formula.It may be useful for slag optimization of ultra-high proportion(>80%)or even full vanadium titanomagnetite under BF smelting.Zhengde Pang Yuyang Jiang Jiawei Ling Xuewei Lü Zhiming Yan 2022International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,6:3
20Inhibition of lipogenesis and induction of apoptosis by valproic acid in prostate cancer cells via the C/EBPα/SREBP-1 pathway显示文摘Lipid metabolism reprogramming is now accepted as a new hallmark of cancer.Hence,targeting the lipogenesis pathway may be a potential avenue for cancer treatment.Valproic acid(VPA)emerges as a promising drug for cancer therapy;however,the underlying mechanisms are not yet fully understood.In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects and mechanisms of VPA on cell viability,lipogenesis,and apoptosis in human prostate cancer PC-3 and LNCaP cells.The results showed that VPA significantly reduced lipid accumulation and induced apoptosis of PC-3 and LNCaP cells.Moreover,the expression of CCAAT/enhancer-binding proteinα(C/EBPα),as well as sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1(SREBP-1)and its downstream effectors,including fatty acid synthase(FASN),acetyl CoA carboxylase 1(ACC1),and anti-apoptotic B-cell lymphoma 2(Bcl-2),was markedly decreased in PC-3 and LNCaP cells after VPA administration.Mechanistically,the overexpression of C/EBPαrescued the levels of SREBP-1,FASN,ACC1,and Bcl-2,enhanced lipid accumulation,and attenuated apoptosis of VPA-treated PC-3 cells.Conversely,knockdown of C/EBPαby siRNA further decreased lipid accumulation,enhanced apoptosis,and reduced the levels of SREBP-1,FASN,ACC1,and Bcl-2.In addition,SREBP-1a and 1c enhanced the expressions of FASN and ACC1,but only SREBP-1a had a significant effect on Bcl-2 expression in VPA-treated PC-3 cells.Based on the results,we concluded that VPA significantly inhibits cell viability via decreasing lipogenesis and inducing apoptosis via the C/EBPα/SREBP-1 pathway in prostate cancer cells.Therefore,VPA that targets lipid metabolism and apoptosis is a promising candidate for PCa chemotherapy.Bo Pang Juanjuan Zhang Xi Zhang Jihong Yuan Yanan Shi Ling Qiao 2021Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2021,53,3:2
