| 1 | Influence of serum from liver-damaged rats on differentiation tendency of bone marrow-derived stem cells显示文摘AIM: Recent studies in both rodents and humans indicated that bone marrow (BM)-derived stem cells were able to home to the liver after they were damaged and demonstrated plasticity in becoming hepatocytes. However, the question remains as to how these stem cells are activated and led to the liver and where the signals initiating the mechanisms of activation and differentiation of stem cells originate. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of serumfrom liver-damaged rats on differentiation tendency of bone marrow-derived stem cells.METHODS: Serum samples were collected from rats treated with a 2-acetylaminofluorene (2-AAF)/carbon tetrachloride (CCl4) program for varying time points and then used as stimulators of cultured BM stem cells. Expression of M2- and L-type isozymes of rat pyruvate kinase, albumin as well as integrin-β1 were then examined by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) to estimate the differentiation state of BM stem cells.RESULTS: Expression of M2-type isozyme of pyruvate kinase (M2-PK), a marker of immature hepatocytes, was detected in each group stimulated with experimental serum, but not in controls including mature hepatocytes, BM stem cells without serum stimulation, and BM stem cells stimulated with normal control serum. As a marker expressed in the development of liver, the expression signal of integrin-131 was also detectable in each group stimulated with experimental serum. | 2 | Shear-wave splitting in the crust:Regional compressive stress from polarizations of fast shear-waves显示文摘When propagating through anisotropic rocks in the crust,shear-waves split into faster and slower components with almost orthogonal polarizations.For nearly vertical propagation the polarization of fast shear-wave(PFS)is parallel to both the strike of the cracks and the direction of maximum horizontal stress,therefore it is possible to use PFS to study stress in the crust.This study discusses several examples in which PFS is applied to deduce the compressive stress in North China,Longmenshan fault zone of east edge of Tibetan plateau and Yunnan zone of southeast edge of Tibetan plateau,also discusses temporal variations of PFS orientations of 1999 Xiuyan earthquake sequences of northeastern China.The results are consistent to those of other independent traditional stress measurements.There is a bridge between crustal PFS and the crustal principal compressive stress although there are many unclear disturbance sources.This study suggests the PFS results could be used to deduce regional and in situ principal compressive stress in the crust only if there are enough seismic stations and enough data.At least,PFS is a useful choice in the zone where there are a large number of dense seismic stations. | Yuan Gao Yutao Shi Jing Wu Lingxue Tai | 2012 | Earthquake Science2012,25,1: | 20 |
| 3 | Degradation of pyrene by immobilized microorganisms in saline-alkaline soil显示文摘Biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) is very difficult in saline-alkaline soil due to the inhibition of microbial growth under saline-alkaline stress.The microorganisms that can most effectively degrade PAHs were screened by introducing microorganisms immobilized on farm byproducts and assessing the validity of the immobilizing technique for PAHs degradation in pyrene-contaminated saline-alkaline soil.Among the microorganisms examined,it was found that Mycobacterium sp.B2 is the best,and can degrade 82.2% and 83.2% of pyrene for free and immobilized cells after 30 days of incubation.The immobilization technique could increase the degradation of pyrene significantly,especially for fungi.The degradation of pyrene by the immobilized microorganisms Mucor sp.F2,fungal consortium MF and co-cultures of MB+MF was increased by 161.7%(P < 0.05),60.1%(P < 0.05) and 59.6%(P < 0.05) after 30 days,respectively,when compared with free F2,MF and MB+MF.Scanning electron micrographs of the immobilized microstructure proved the positive effects of the immobilized microbial technique on pyrene remediation in salinealkaline soil,as the interspace of the carrier material structure was relatively large,providing enough space for cell growth.Co-cultures of different bacterial and fungal species showed different abilities to degrade PAHs.The present study suggests that Mycobacterium sp.B2 can be employed for in situ bioremediation of PAHs in saline-alkaline soil,and immobilization of fungi on farm byproducts and nutrients as carriers will enhance fungus PAH-degradation ability in saline-alkaline soil. | Shanxian Wang Xiaojun Li Wan Liu Peijun Li Lingxue Kong Wenjie Ren Haiyan Wu Ying Tu | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9: | 19 |
| 4 | Development and utilization of a new chemically-induced soybean library with a high mutation density显示文摘Mutagenized populations have provided important materials for introducing variation and identifying gene function in plants. In this study, an ethyl methanesulfonate(EMS)-induced soybean(Glycine max) population,consisting of 21,600 independent M_2 lines, was developed.Over 1,000 M_(4(5))families, with diverse abnormal phenotypes for seed composition, seed shape, plant morphology and maturity that are stably expressed across different environments and generations were identified. Phenotypic analysis of the population led to the identification of a yellow pigmentation mutant, gyl, that displayed significantly decreased chlorophyll(Chl) content and abnormal chloroplast development. Sequence analysis showed that gyl is allelic to Minn Gold, where a different single nucleotide polymorphism variation in the Mg-chelatase subunit gene(ChlI1a) results in golden yellow leaves. A cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence marker was developed and may be applied to marker-assisted selection for the golden yellow phenotype in soybean breeding. | 5 | Broadband perovskite quantum dot spectrometer beyond human visual resolution显示文摘The quantum dot spectrometer,fabricated by integrating different quantum dots with an image sensor to reconstruct the target spectrum from spectral-coupled measurements,is an emerging and promising hyperspectrometry technology with high resolution and a compact size.The spectral resolution and spectral range of quantum dot spectrometers have been limited by the spectral variety of the available quantum dots and the robustness of algorithmic reconstruction.Moreover,the spectrometer integration of quantum dots also suffers from inherent photoluminescence emission and poor batch-to-batch repeatability.In this work,we developed nonemissive in situ fabricated MA_(3)Bi_(2)X_(9) and Cs_(2)SnX_(6)(MA=CH_(3)NH_(3);X=Cl,Br,I)perovskite-quantum-dot-embedded films(PQDFs)with precisely tunable transmittance spectra for quantum dot spectrometer applications.The resulting PQDFs contain in situ fabricated perovskite nanocrystals with homogenous dispersion in a polymeric matrix,giving them advantageous features such as high transmittance efficiency and good batch-to-batch repeatability.By integrating a filter array of 361 kinds of PQDFs with a silicon-based photodetector array,we successfully demonstrated the construction of a perovskite quantum dot spectrometer combined with a compressive-sensing-based total-variation optimization algorithm.A spectral resolution of ~1.6 nm was achieved in the broadband of 250-1000 nm.The performance of the perovskite quantum dot spectrometer is well beyond that of human eyes in terms of both the spectral range and spectral resolution.This advancement will not only pave the way for using quantum dot spectrometers for practical applications but also significantly impact the development of artificial intelligence products,clinical treatment equipment,scientific instruments,etc. | Xiaoxiu Zhu Liheng Bian Hao Fu Lingxue Wang Bingsuo Zou Qionghai Dai Jun Zhang Haizheng Zhong | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 5 |
| 6 | Photocatalytic degradation of phenanthrene on soil surfaces in the presence of nanometer anatase TiO_2 under UV-light显示文摘The effect of nanometer anatase TiO2 was investigated on the photocatalytic degradation of phenanthrene on soil surfaces under a variety of conditions.After being spiked with phenanthrene,soil samples loaded with different amounts of TiO2(0wt.%,1wt.%,2wt.%,3wt.%,and 4 wt.%) were exposed to UV-light irradiation for 25 hr.The results indicated that the photocatalytic degradation of phenanthrene followed the pseudo first-order kinetics.TiO2 significantly accelerated the degradation of phenanthrene with the half-life reduced from 45.90 to 31.36hr for TiO2 loading of 0wt.% and 4wt.%,respectively.In addition,the effects of H2O2,light intensity and humic acid on the degradation of phenanthrene were investigated.The degradation of phenanthrene increased with the concentration of H2O2,light intensity and the concentration of humic acids.It has been demonstrated that the photocatalytic method in the presence of nanometer anatase TiO2 was a very promising technology for the treatments of soil polluted with organic substances in the future. | Jiali Gu Dianbo Dong Lingxue Kong Yong Zheng Xiaojun Li | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,12: | 5 |
| 7 | Synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes-FePO_4 composite from phosphate residue and its application as effective Fenton-like catalyst for dye degradation显示文摘Phosphate residue is regarded as a hazardous waste, which could potentially create significant environmental and health problems if it is not properly treated and disposed of. In this study, nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes-FePO_4(NCNTs-FePO_4) composite was successfully synthesized from phosphate residue, and its application as an effective catalyst was explored. Firstly, an effective method was developed to recover FePO_4 from phosphate residue, achieving an impressive FePO_4 mass recovery rate of 98.14%. Then, the NCNTsFePO_4 catalyst was synthesized from the recovered FePO_4 by two main reactions, including surface modification and chemical vapor deposition. Finally, the synthesized NCNTs-FePO_4 was applied to photo-degrade 15 mg/L Rhodamine B(RhB) in a Fenton-like system. The results showed that 98.9% of RhB could be degraded in 60 min, closely following the pseudofirst-order kinetics model. It was found that even after six consecutive cycles, NCNTs-FePO_4 still retained a high catalytic capacity(>50%). Moreover, ·OH radicals participating in the RhB degradation process were evidenced using quenching experiments and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis, and a rational mechanism was proposed. | 8 | A Virulent PEDV Strain FJzz1 with Genomic Mutations and Deletions at the High Passage Level Was Attenuated in Piglets via Serial Passage In Vitro显示文摘Highly virulent porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)strains re-emerged and circulated in China at the end of 2010,causing significant economic losses in the pork industry worldwide.To understand the genetic dynamics of PEDV during its passage in vitro,the PEDV G2 strain FJzzl was serially propagated in Vero cells for up to 200 passages.The susceptibility and adaptability of the FJzzl strain increased gradually as it was serially passaged in vitro.Sequence analysis revealed that amino acid(aa)changes were mainly concentrated in the S glycoprotein,which accounted for 72.22%-85.71%of all aa changes.A continuous aa deletion(^(55)I^(56)G^(57)E→^(55)K^(56)Δ^(57)Δ)occurred in the N-terminal domain of S1(Sl-NTD).To examine how the aa changes affected its virulence,FJzzl-F20 and FJzzl-F200 were selected to simultaneously evaluate their pathogenicity in suckling piglets.All the piglets in the FJzzl-F20-infected group showed typical diarrhea at 24 h postinfection,and the piglets died successively by 48 h postinfection.However,the clinical signs of the piglets in the FJzzl-F200-infected group were significantly weaker,and no deaths occurred.The FJzzl-F200-infected group also showed a lower level of fecal viral shedding and lower viral loads in the intestinal tissues,and no obvious histopathological lesions.TypeⅠandⅢinterferon were induced in the FJzzl-F200 infection group,together with pro-inflammatory cytokines,such as TNF-α,IL-1βand IL-8.These results indicate that the identified genetic changes may contribute to the attenuation of FJzzl strain,and the attenuated FJzzl-F200 may have the potential for developing PEDV live-attenuated vaccines. | Pengfei Chen Xiongwei Zhao Shuting Zhou Tianxing Zhou Xiangmei Tan Xia Wu Wu Tong Fei Gao Lingxue Yu Yifeng Jiang Hai Yu Zhibiao Yang Guangzhi Tong Yanjun Zhou | 2021 | Virologica Sinica2021,36,5: | 4 |
| 9 | Meltblown fabric vs nanofiber membrane, which is better for fabricating personal protective equipments显示文摘The coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has led to a great demand on the personal protection products such as reusable masks.As a key raw material for masks,meltblown fabrics play an important role in rejection of aerosols.However,the electrostatic dominated aerosol rejection mechanism of meltblown fabrics prevents the mask from maintaining the desired protective effect after the static charge degradation.Herein,novel reusable masks with high aerosols rejection efficiency were fabricated by the introduction of spider-web bionic nanofiber membrane(nano cobweb-biomimetic membrane).The reuse stability of meltblown and nanofiber membrane mask was separately evaluated by infiltrating water,75%alcohol solution,and exposing under ultraviolet(UV)light.After the water immersion test,the filtration efficiency of meltblown mask was decreased to about 79%,while the nanofiber membrane was maintained at 99%.The same phenomenon could be observed after the 75%alcohol treatment,a high filtration efficiency of 99%was maintained in nanofiber membrane,but obvious negative effect was observed in meltblown mask,which decreased to about 50%.In addition,after long-term expose under UV light,no filtration efficiency decrease was observed in nanofiber membrane,which provide a suitable way to disinfect the potential carried virus.This work successfully achieved the daily disinfection and reuse of masks,which effectively alleviate the shortage of masks during this special period. | Junwei Wu Hongjia Zhou Jingyi Zhou Xiao Zhu Bowen Zhang Shasha Feng Zhaoxiang Zhong Lingxue Kong Weihong Xing | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,8: | 4 |
| 10 | Spatio-temporal Pattern and Spatial Heterogeneity of Ecotones Based oh Land Use Types of Southeastern Da Hinggan Mountains in China显示文摘Ecotones have received great attention due to its critical function in energy flux, species harbor, global carbon sequestration, and land-atmosphere interaction. This study investigated land use pattern and spatial heterogeneity of the ecotones among agricultural land, forest land, and grassland of the southeastern Da Hinggan Mountains in the northeastern China. The change of these delineated ecotones under different slopes and aridity conditions was analyzed by two landscape indices, edge density(ED) and core area percentage of landscape(CPL), to explore the inter-linkage between spatial structure of ecotones and socioeconomic development and land management. Specifically, the ecotones such as agriculture-forest(AF) ecotone, forest-grassland(FG) ecotone, and agriculture-forestgrassland(AFG) ecotone moved from the arid southeast to the humid northwest. The flat area with small slope is more edge-fragmented than the steep area since the ED decreases as the slope increases. | 11 | Modification of ash flow properties of coal rich in calcium and iron by coal gangue addition显示文摘Flow property of coal ash and slag is an important parameter for slag tapping of entrained flow gasifier.The viscosity of slag with high contents of calcium and iron exhibits the behavior of a crystalline slag,of which viscosity sharply increases when temperature is lowered than temperature of critical viscosity(TCV).The fluctuation in temperature near the TCVcan cause an accumulation of slag inside the gasifier.In order to prevent slag blockage,it is necessary to adjust the ash composition by additive to modify the flow property of coal rich in calcium and iron.Main components of coal gangue are Al_(2)O_(3) and SiO_(2),which is a potential additive to modify the ash flow properties of these coals.In this work,we investigated the ash flow properties of a typical coal rich in calcium and iron by adding coal gangue with different SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio.The results showed that the ash fusion temperatures(AFTs)firstly decreased,and then increased with increasing amount of coal gangue addition.Chemical composition of coal ash rich in calcium and iron moved from gehlenite primary phase to anorthite,quartz and corundum primary phases.The slags with coal gangue addition behaved as a glassy slag,of which the viscosity gradually increased as temperature decreased.Besides,a high SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio of coal gangue was beneficial to modify the slag viscosity behavior.Addition of coal gangue with a high SiO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio impeded formation of crystalline phases during cooling.This work demonstrated that coal gangue addition was an effective way to improve the ash flow properties of the coal rich in calcium and iron for the entrained flow gasifier. | Huaizhu Li Lingxue Kong Jin Bai Zongqing Bai Zhenxing Guo Wen Li | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2021,34,7: | 4 |
| 12 | China's Wetland Databases Based on Remote Sensing Technology显示文摘Wetland databases can provide the basic data that necessary for the protection and management of wetlands. A large number of wetland databases have been established in the world as well as in China. In this paper, we review China's wetland databases based on remote sensing(RS) technology after introducing the background theory to the application of RS technology in wetland surveys. A key conclusion is that China's wetland databases are far from sufficient in fulfilling protection and management needs. Our recommendations focus on the use of the hyper-spectral imagery, microwave data, multi-temporal images, and automatic classifications in order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of wetland inventory. Further, attention should also be paid to detect major biophysical features of wetlands and build wetland databases in years after the 1980 s in China. | 14 | Synthesis of porous iron hydroxy phosphate from phosphate residue and its application as a Fenton-like catalyst for dye degradation显示文摘Phosphate residue is a kind of hazardous solid waste and if not properly disposed of, could cause serious environmental contaminations. The abundant iron salt available in phosphate residue can be used to prepare photo-Fenton catalytic reagent for wastewater treatment. In this study, the phosphate residue was effectively purified by a hydrothermal recrystallization method, reaching an iron phosphate purity of 94.2%. The particles of iron phosphate were further processed with ball milling with their average size reduced from 19.4 to 1.6 μm. By hydrothermal crystallization of iron phosphate and thermal decomposition of oxalate precursor, porous iron hydroxy phosphate was prepared. The modified porous iron hydroxy phosphate(m-PIHP) of higher surface area with iron oxalate on its surface can degrade 98.87% of Rhodamine B in 15 min. Cyclic experiment showed that the catalyst still had a good catalytic activity after six cycles( > 40%). The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the iron oxalate complex on the catalyst surface decomposed to produce ferrous ions and accelerated the rate of · OH production.
