1Incidence and mortality of thyroid cancer in China, 2008-2012显示文摘Objective: To analyze the incidence and mortality rates of thyroid cancer(TC) in China from 2008 to 2012.Methods: Incident and death cases of TC were retrieved from the National Central Cancer Registry(NCCR)database collecting from 135 cancer registries in China during 2008-2012. The crude incidence and mortality rates of TC were calculated by area(urban/rural), region(eastern, middle, western), gender and age group(0, 1-4, 5-9,…, 85+). China census in 2000 and world Segi's population were applied for age-standardized rates. Joinpoint(Version 4.6.0.0) model was used for time-trend analysis.Results: The crude incidence rate of TC was 7.56/100,000 which ranked the seventh in overall cancers. The agestandardized incidence rates by China population(ASIRC) and by World population(ASIRW) were 6.25/100,000 and 5.52/100,000, respectively. The crude mortality of TC in China was 0.52/100,000. The age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were0.34/100,000 and 0.32/100,000, respectively. Incidence and mortality rates of TC were higher in females than in males and higher in urban areas than in rural areas. Eastern areas had the highest incidence followed by middle and western areas. TC incidence increased dramatically after age of 15 years, then peaked at 14.08/100,000 in the group of 50-54 years and finally decreased sharply after 55 years old. TC mortality increased with age in population,reaching the peak of 5.09/100,000 in sub-population aged 85 years or older. TC incidence increased by 4.73 times from 2.40/100,000 in 2003 to 13.75/100,000 in 2012 with an average annual increase of 20%, while TC mortality only increased slightly around 0.32/100,000 from 0.26/100,000 to 0.36/100,000.Conclusions: Appropriate targeted prevention, early detection and treatment programs can be carried out to curb the rapid growth trend of TC and control the disease burden.Lingbin Du Runhua Li Minghua Ge Youqing Wang Huizhang Li Wanqing Chen Jie He 2019Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,1:31
2Incidence and mortality of laryngeal cancer in China, 2011显示文摘Objective: Laryngeal cancer is the common cancer of the upper aerodigestive tract. We aimed to use the national cancer registration data in 2011 to estimate the incidence and mortality of laryngeal cancer within China.Methods: Comparable, high-quality data from 177 population-based cancer registries were qualified for analysis. The pooled data were stratified by area, sex and age group. National new cases and deaths of laryngeal cancer were estimated using age-specific rates and national population in 2010. All incidence and death rates were age-standardized to the 2000 Chinese standard population and Segi's population, which were expressed per 100,000 populations.Results: All 177 cancer registries covered a total of 175,310,169 population(98,341,507 in urban and 76,968,662 in rural areas), accounting for 13.01% of the national population. The data quality indicators of proportion of morphological verification(MV%), percentage of cancer cases identified with death certification only(DCO%) and mortality to incidence ratio(M/I) were 77.98%, 2.62% and 0.55, respectively. Estimated 20,875 new cases of laryngeal cancer were diagnosed and 11,488 deaths from laryngeal cancer occurred in China in 2011. The crude incidence rate of laryngeal cancer was 1.55/100,000(2.69/100,000 in males and 0.35/100,000 in females). Age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 1.13/100,000 and 1.14/100,000, respectively. Laryngeal cancer is much rarer in females than in males. The incidence rate was higher in urban areas than that in rural areas. The crude mortality rate of laryngeal cancer was 0.85/100,000(1.42/100,000 in males and 0.25/100,000 in females). Age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were both 0.61/100,000. The mortality rate in males was much higher than that in females. There was no definite difference in mortality rates of laryngeal cancer between urban and rural areas.Conclusions: Larynx is a specialized area and cancer of larynx significantly affects the quality of life for the patients. 3Spatial Pattern Evolution and Casual Analysis of County Level Economy in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Urban Agglomeration, China显示文摘In order to evaluate whether or not the county units′ economy in the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan(Chang-Zhu-Tan) Urban Agglomeration was growing as expected, this study analyzed the spatial economy pattern at county-level by using the Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis(ESDA) method. In this process, the global Moran′s I and local Getis-Ord G*i indexes were employed to analyze indicators including per capita GDP and three industrials(i.e. primary, secondary and tertiary industry) from 2000 to 2010. The results show that: 1) the county units′ economy in the Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Agglomeration has exhibited a strong spatial autocorrelation and an accelerated integration trend since 2008(Moran′ s I increased from 0.26 to 0.56); 2) there is a significant difference in economy development between the northern and southern county units in the Chang-Zhu-Tan Urban Agglomeration: the hotspot zone with high economic level was formed among the northern county units whereas the coldspot zone with low economic level was located in the southern areas. 4Clinical characteristics and survival of 5283 esophageal cancer patients: A multicenter study from eighteen hospitals across six regions in China显示文摘Objective:This study aimed to investigate the potential determining epidemiological and clinical risk factors affecting the survival of esophageal cancer(EC)patients across multiple hospitals in China.Methods:This was a multicenter study comprising of newly diagnosed EC cases from Beijing,Hebei,Henan,Hubei,Zhejiang,and Guangdong Province of China.Their baseline characteristics and treatment methods data were collected from their medical records.The EpiData software was used for data quality control.The Kaplan-Meier method was used to estimate their overall survival(OS),and the Cox’s proportional hazard regression model was used to estimate hazard ratios(HR)and 95%confidence interval(CI).Results:The 3-and 5-year OS rates of the 5283 investigated EC patients were 49.98%and 39.07%,respectively.Their median survival was 36.00 months.The median survival time of females was longer than that of males(females vs.males:45.00 vs.33.00,P<0.001).The 5-year OS rate of patients who never-smoked was higher than that of smokers(never-smokers vs smokers:40.73%vs.37.84%,P=0.001).There was no significant difference in the 5-year OS rate between drinkers and never-drinkers(drinkers vs never-drinkers:34.22%vs.29.65%,P=0.330).In multivariate analysis,pathological stage(stage II:HR=1.80,95%CI=1.40-2.31;stage III:HR=2.62,95%CI=2.06-3.34;stage IV:HR=3.90,95%CI=2.98-5.09),poor differentiation/undifferentiated(HR=1.34,95%CI=1.11-1.63),not married status(HR=2.45,95%CI=1.49-4.04),production and service personnel(HR=1.36,95%CI=1.01-1.83)and farming/fishing(HR=1.40,95%CI=1.12-1.76)were independent prognostic risk factors for poor EC survival.Tumors in the thoracic or abdominal part of the esophagus,female and family history of any cancer were independent factors predictive of a good EC OS.Conclusion:Gender,marital status,occupation,family history of any cancer,tumor topographical site,differentiation status,and pathological stage were associated with the survival rate of EC.This study reveals important clinical characteristics of esophageal cancer patients in China and provides helpful information for their clinical management and surveillance.Yutong He Di Liang Lingbin Du Tiantian Guo Yanyu Liu Xibin Sun Ning Wang Min Zhang Kuangrong Wei Baoen Shan Wanqing Chen 2020Cancer Communications2020,40,10:8
5Medical expenditures for colorectal cancer diagnosis and treatment: A 10-year high-level-hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey in China, 2002-2011显示文摘Objective: Colorectal cancer(CRC) causes a substantial burden of disease in China and the evidence of economic burden triggered is fundamental for priority setting. The aim of this survey was to quantify medical expenditures and the time trends for CRC diagnosis and treatment in China.Methods: From 2012 to 2014, a hospital-based multicenter retrospective survey was conducted in 13 provinces across China. For each eligible CRC patient diagnosed from 2002 to 2011, clinical information and expenditure data were extracted using a uniform questionnaire. All expenditure data were reported in Chinese Yuan(CNY)using 2011 values.Results: Of the 14,536 CRC patients included, the average age at diagnosis was 58.2 years and 15.8% were stageI cases. The average medical expenditure per patient was estimated at 37,902 CNY [95 % confidence interval(95%CI): 37,282-38,522], and the annual average increase rate was 9.2% from 2002 to 2011(P for trend <0.001), with a cumulative increase of 2.4 times(from 23,275 CNY to 56,010 CNY). The expenditure per patient in stages Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ were 31,698 CNY, 37,067 CNY, 38,918 CNY and 42,614 CNY, respectively(P<0.001). Expenditure significantly differed within various subgroups. Expenses for drugs contributed the largest proportion(52.6%).Conclusions: These conservative estimates illustrated that medical expenditures for CRC diagnosis and treatment in tertiary hospitals in China were substantial and increased rapidly over the 10 years, with drugs continually being the main expense by 2011. Relatively, medical expenditures are lower for CRC in the earlier stages. 6Facile synthesis of high electrical conductive CoP via solid-state synthetic routes for supercapacitors显示文摘Co-P precursor was prepared by a mechanical alloying method and then is controlled to synthesis of Co P phase through an annealing method. The optimal conditions of ball milling and annealing temperature are investigated. The Co P exhibits higher electrical conductivity than graphite and cobalt oxide, showing excellent pseudocapacitive properties due its high electrical conductivity which can result in a fast electron transfer in high rate charge–discharge possess. The as-obtained Co P electrode achieves a high specific capacitance of 447.5 F/g at 1 A/g, and displays an excellent rate capability as well as good cycling stability. Besides, the asymmetric supercapacitor(ASC) based on the Co P as the positive electrode and activated carbon(AC) as the negative electrode was assembled and displayed a high rate capability(60%of the capacitance is retained when the current density increased from 1 A/g to 12 A/g), excellent cycling stability(96.7% of the initial capacitance is retained after 5000 cycles), and a superior specific energy of19 Wh/kg at a power density of 350.8 W/kg. 8Effect of Short-term Forest Bathing in Urban Parks on Perceived Anxiety of Young-adults: A Pilot Study in Guiyang, Southwest China显示文摘Forest can be taken as a natural therapy to alleviate perceived anxiety of visitors. Given the geographical difference between urban and rural forest environments, little is known about the urban forest therapy effect of anxiety alleviation with reference to the rural forest. In this study, forty-three university students(aged from 19 to 23) were recruited as participants to visit the forest parks at urban and rural areas of Guiyang City on 21 and 23 December 2016. The forest experience was separated by four sceneries. Participants were asked to complete questionnaires by self-evaluating specific anxiety change from 12 questions with scores from 1 to 10 at both entrance and exit of the parks. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test and paired t-test were used to compare the change of anti-anxiety scores during forest bathing and between urban and rural forests, respectively. Results revealed that forest bathing in the urban park can alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0028), exam-pass pressure(P = 0.0040) and love-affair relationship(P = 0.0286). Although rural forest bathing can also alleviate the anxiety from financial state(P = 0.0222), meanwhile, it maintained the anxiety about campus life(P < 0.0001). Forest tree richness tended to be higher in the rural forest park than in the urban one, which in contrast decreased the anxiety alleviation from inter-communication in the rural forest park(P = 0.0487). Principle component analysis indicated that participants tended to perceive more decline of anxiety from social contact in the urban forest. In conclusion, university students were recommended to pay a short visit to the urban forest with partners if they felt anxious about personal affairs and felt necessary to talk with others. 9Study on Water Conservation Capacity of Litter from Different Types of Forest in Caohai Basin显示文摘[Objective]The research aimed to understand water conservation capacity of litter from different forest types in Caohai basin. [Method] Current storage amount,water holding capacity and precipitation interception ability of litter from 4 types of forest were investigated and studied. [Result]The order of exist litter amount was grass slope >shrub forest >mixed broad leaf-conifer forest >coniferous forest. The order of natural water holding capacity was mixed broad leafconifer forest > coniferous forest > grass slope > shrub forest. The relevance between water holding capacity of litter and soaking time was in line with this formula: y = kln( x) + b. During 0-120 min of litter soaking,water holding capacity increased rapidly. After 120 min,the increasing trend remained flat until closing to the maximum water holding capacity. The relevance between water absorption rate of litter and soaking time was in line with this formula: y = a + bx-1. In the beginning of soaking,water absorption rates of litter from different woodlands showed great difference. As soaking time went by,water absorption rates of litter from different woodlands all declined sharply. During 0-120 min,declining velocity of water absorption rate was quicker. After 120 min,the declining trend tended to be slow. The maximum water holding capacity of litter presented the order of shrub forest > mixed broad leafconifer forest > grass slope > coniferous forest. The maximum precipitation interception amount of litter presented the order of shrub forest > grass slope > mixed broad leafconifer forest > coniferous forest. Effective impounding capacity of litter presented the order of shrub forest > mixed broad leafconifer forest > grass slope > coniferous forest. 10Comparative yield and efficiency of strategies based on risk assessment and fecal immunochemical test in colorectal cancer screening:A cross-sectional population-based analysis显示文摘Objective:Integration of risk stratification into fecal immunochemical test(FIT)might aid in the suboptimal detection of advanced neoplasms by FIT in colorectal cancer(CRC)screening.A comparative study was conducted to evaluate the participation and diagnostic yield of the parallel combination of questionnaire-based risk assessment(QRA)and FIT,FIT-only and QRA-only strategies in a CRC screening program in China.Methods:The study included 29,626 individuals aged 40-74 years and invited to participate in a CRC screening program in China.Participants were first invited to undertake QRA and one-time FIT(OC-sensor).Participants with positive QRA or FIT were deemed to be high-risk individuals who were recommended for subsequent colonoscopy.Participation,detection rate,and resource demand for colonoscopy were calculated and compared.Results:Of the 29,626 invitees,20,203 completed the parallel combination,8,592 completed the QRA-only,and11 completed the FIT-only strategy.For the parallel combination,FIT-only,and QRA-only strategies,the overall positivity rates were 10.2%(2,928/28,806),5.4%(1,096/20,214),and 6.8%(1,944/28,795),respectively;the yield of advanced neoplasm per 10,000 invitees were 46.9[95%confidence interval(95%CI):39.8-55.4],36.8(95%CI:30.5-44.4),and 12.2(95%CI:8.8-16.8),respectively;the positive predictive values for detecting advanced neoplasms among participants who completed colonoscopy were 4.7%(95%CI:4.0%-5.6%),9.9%(95%CI:8.3%-11.9%),and 1.9%(95%CI:1.3%-2.6%),respectively;the number of colonoscopies required to detect one advanced neoplasm was 11.4(95%CI:9.8-13.4),5.7(95%CI:4.8-6.7),and 28.4(95%CI:20.7-39.2),respectively.Conclusions:The parallel combination of QRA and FIT did not show superior efficacy for detecting advanced neoplasm compared with FIT alone in this CRC screening program.Hongda Chen Le Wang Ming Lu Chen Zhu Yunfeng Zhu Weihua Ma Xinmin Chen Lingbin Du Wanqing Chen 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,4:3

14A New Index Developed for Fast Diagnosis of Meteorological Roles in Ground-Level Ozone Variations显示文摘China experienced worsening ground-level ozone(O_(2)) pollution from 2013 to 2019. In this study, meteorological parameters, including surface temperature(T_(2)), solar radiation(SW), and wind speed(WS), were classified into two aspects,(1) Photochemical Reaction Condition(PRC = T_(2)× SW) and(2) Physical Dispersion Capacity(PDC = WS). In this way, a Meteorology Synthetic Index(MSI = PRC/PDC) was developed for the quantification of meteorology-induced ground-level O_(2)pollution. The positive linear relationship between the 90 th percentile of MDA8(maximum daily 8-h average) O_(2)concentration and MSI determined that the contribution of meteorological changes to ground-level O-3 varied on a latitudinal gradient, decreasing from ~40% in southern China to 10%–20% in northern China. Favorable photochemical reaction conditions were more important for ground-level O_(2)pollution. 15A bird nest-like manganese dioxide and its application as electrode in supercapacitors显示文摘A novel bird nest-like nanostructured MnO2(BNNS-MnO2) was prepared by a facile and cost-effective strategy. Their structures and morphologies were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction. Capacitive behaviors were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge. The obtained nano-MnO2 possesses a well designed loose-assembled hierarchical nanoarchitecture with an appropriate crystallinity which gives rise to excellent performances as an electrode material for supercapacitors. A maximum specific capacitance of 917 F/g has been obtained at a current density of 5 mA/cm2 in 6 mol/L KOH aqueous solution, and a specific capacitance of 210 F/g has been maintained for 500 cycles. 17Facile synthesis of MoS_2/graphite intercalated composite with enhanced electrochemical performance for sodium ion battery显示文摘MoS_2 is a promising anode material for sodium ion batteries owing to its two-dimensional layered structure and high specific capacity. But it still exhibits a poor cycle stability and limited rate capability for Na+storage because of its poor electrical conductivity and structural instability. In this work,MoS_2/graphite composite is fabricated by mechanically delaminated and restacked MoS_2 and graphite to form two-dimensional composite layers. The graphite sheets will improve electrical conductivity and prevent the aggregation as well as structure collapse of the MoS_2 layers during charge–discharge process.The MoS_2/graphite composite exhibits excellent Na+storage properties. It delivers a high discharge specific capacity of 358.2 m Ah/g at a current density of 100 m A/g in the first discharge process and with capacity retention of 68.1% after 800 cycles(retains 244 m Ah/g). The average discharge specific capacities retain 250.9 and 225.4 m Ah/g corresponding to the current densities of 100 and 1000 m A/g, showing excellent rate capability. The improved electrochemical performance is attributed to the improved electrical conductivity and structural stability after composition of graphite sheets. 18Ingeniously designed Ni-Mo-S/ZnIn_(2)S_(4) composite for multi-photocatalytic reaction systems显示文摘Molybdenum disulfide (MoS_(2)) with low cost, high activity and high earth abundance has been found to be a promising catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), but its catalytic activity is considerably limited due to its inert basal planes. Here, through the combination of theory and experiment, we propose that doping Ni in MoS_(2) as catalyst can make it have excellent catalytic activity in different reaction systems. In the EY/TEOA system, the maximum hydrogen production rate of EY/Ni-Mo-S is 2.72 times higher than that of pure EY, which confirms the strong hydrogen evolution activity of Ni-Mo-S nanosheets as catalysts. In the lactic acid and Na_(2)S/Na_(2)SO_(3) systems, when Ni-Mo-S is used as co-catalyst to compound with ZnIn_(2)S_(4) (termed as Ni-Mo-S/ZnIn_(2)S_(4)), the maximum hydrogen evolution rates in the two systems are 5.28 and 2.33 times higher than those of pure ZnIn_(2)S_(4), respectively. The difference in HER enhancement is because different systems lead to different sources of protons, thus affecting hydrogen evolution activity. Theoretically, we further demonstrate that the Ni-Mo-S nanosheets have a narrower band gap than MoS_(2), which is conducive to the rapid transfer of charge carriers and thus result in multi-photocatalytic reaction systems with excellent activity. 19Optical Properties and Source Analysis of Aerosols over a Desert Area in Dunhuang,Northwest China显示文摘Aerosol observational data for 2012 obtained from Dunhuang Station of CARE-China(Campaign on Atmospheric Aerosol Research Network of China) were analyzed to achieve in-depth knowledge of aerosol optical properties over Dunhuang region. The results showed that the annual average aerosol optical depth(AOD) at 500 nm was 0.32 ± 0.06, and the ?ngstr?m exponent(α) was 0.73 ± 0.27. Aerosol optical properties revealed significant seasonal characteristics. Frequent sandstorms in MAM(March–April–May) resulted in the seasonal maximum AOD, 0.41 ± 0.04, and a relatively smaller αvalue, 0.44 ± 0.04. The tourism seasons, JJA(June–July–August) and SON(September–October–November) coincide with serious emissions of small anthropogenic aerosols. While in DJF(December–January–February), the composition of the atmosphere was a mixture of dust particles and polluted aerosols released by domestic heating; the average AOD and αwere 0.29 ± 0.02 and 0.66 ± 0.17, respectively. Different air masses exhibited different degrees of influence on the aerosol concentration over Dunhuang in different seasons. During MAM, ranges of AOD(0.11–1.18) and α(0.06–0.82) were the largest under the dust influence of northwest-short-distance air mass in the four trajectories. Urban aerosols transported by northwest-short-distance air mass accounted for a very large proportion in JJA and the mixed aerosols observed in SON were mainly conveyed by air masses from the west.
