4Progress in densification and toughening of high entropy carbide ceramics显示文摘High entropy carbide ceramics(HECC)are solid solution of inorganic compounds with five or more prin-cipal metal cations.Research interests in HECC are dramatically sparked by the enormous possibilities in composition-microstructure-property tailoring.As widely acknowledged,HECCs enjoy higher hardness and oxidation/corrosion/wear resistance,as well as lower thermal conductivity than conventional engi-neering carbide ceramics,making them the most potential candidates for state-of-the-art structural and functional applications in extreme service conditions.Despite the advantages,however,the poor den-sification coupled with low fracture toughness significantly limited the practical applications of HECC.Adding to the difficulty,the literature available for toughening HECC is woefully limited.In considera-tion of this insufficiency,we apply towards offer a comprehensive,critical review of the mechanical be-havior of HECC,highlighting the densification enhancing strategies(carbon content,sintering techniques,grain size,sintering aids,etc.)as well as toughening methods including particle toughening,whisker/fiber toughening,synergistic toughening,graphene-carbon nanotube toughening,to further the service reliabil-ity of HECC in practical industrial applications.Furthermore,despite some significant successes,important directions for further development of HECC are given as multi-dimensional gradient HECC,additive man-ufacturing of HECC,processing-composition-microstructure-property relationship prediction and genomes of HECC based on machine learning,and high-throughput computing,etc.Zhennan Cao Jialin Sun Lingtao Meng Keguo Zhang Jun Zhao Zhifu Huang Xialun Yun 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,30:0
5Reliability Analysis for Retaining Pile in Foundation Pit Based on Bayesian Principle显示文摘Moso bamboo has the advantages of high short-term strength and reproducibility,appropriating for temporary supporting structure of shallow foundation pit.According to the displacement of the pile top from an indoor model test,the reliability of the supporting effect of the moso bamboo pile was analyzed.First,the calculation formula of reliability index was deduced based on themean-value first-order second-moment(MVFOSM)method and probability theory under ultimate limit state and serviceability limit state.Then,the dimensionless bias factor(the ratio of the measured value to the calculated value)was introduced to normalize the displacement.The mathematical characteristics of the displacement were estimated and optimized based on Bayesian theory.Finally,taking 2.5 as the design reliability index,the effect of safety factor,tolerable limit displacement,and the ratio of the ultimate limit displacement to the tolerable on reliability index was analyzed.The results show that the safety level of the supporting pile can be increased by 1–2 levels when the safety factor increases by 0.5.When the coefficient of variation of tolerable limit displacement is less than 0.3,the safety factor can be 2–2.5.And the ratio of the ultimate limit displacement to the tolerable has a great influence on the reliability index,when the soil conditions is well,the ratio can be 1.2–1.3.Yousheng Deng Chengpu Peng Jialin Su Lingtao Li Liqing Meng Long Li 2022Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2022,,2:0
