1Development of FGF-2-loaded electrospun waterborne polyurethane fibrous membranes for bone regeneration显示文摘Guided bone regeneration(G BR)membrane has been used to improve functional outcomes for periodontal regener ation.However,few studies have focused on the biomimetic membrane mim-icking the vascularization of the periodontal membrane.This study aimed to fabricate waterborne polyurethane(WPU)fibrous membranes loaJed fibroblast growth factor-2(FGF-2)via emulsion electrospinning,which can promote regeneration of periodontal tissue via the vascularization of the biomimetic GBR membrane.A biodegradable WPU was synthesized by using lysine and dime-thylpropionic acid as chain extenders according to the rule of green chemical synthesis technology.The WPU fibers with FGF-2 was fabricated via emulsion electrospinning.The results confirmed that controlled properties of the fibrous membrane had been achieved with controlled degradation,suitable mech anical properties and sustained release of the factor.The immunohistochemical expression of angiogenic-related factors was positive,meaning that FGF-2 loaded in fibers can sig-nificantly promote cell vasculariz ation.The fiber scaffold loaded FGF-2 has the potential to be used as a functional GBR membrane to promote the formation of extraosseous blood vessels during periodontal repairing.Chi Zhang Jianxiong Wang Yujie Xie Li Wang Lishi Yang Jihua Yu Akira Miyamoto Fuhua Sun 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,1:3
2Comparison of nutrition education policies and programs for children in China and other selected developed countries显示文摘A double burden of overweight/obesity and malnutrition during childhood is a major concern in China.Dietary intakes in this critical period affect children’s physical and cognitive development,and also have health consequences in later life.Therefore,establishing healthy eating habits that will endure is crucial for children.Nutrition education is an effective way in improving nutrition knowledge and attitudes,and healthy eating behaviors.Diverse forms of nutrition improvement programs that targeting children,family,teachers,and school settings have been conducted in many developed countries.However,due to the differences of genetic background,household environment as well as dietary patterns between Chinese children and children from other countries,the existing nutrition education programs for children abroad might not be appropriate for children in China.Thus,nutrition education programs that consider Chinese nutrition-related policies and food supply as well as the local educational resources are required for Chinese children.This review summarized nutrition-related policies and legislations in China and developed countries.A series of evidence-based nutrition education programs that combined educational strategies and environmental supports conducted in the Southwest China Childhood Nutrition and Growth Study were presented.These programs can serve as example models for adopting nutrition interventions to improve nutrition and health status of children in different regions of China.Guo Cheng Fan Yang Fei Xiong Li Zhao Lishi Zhang Youfa Wang 2020Global Health Journal2020,4,3:1

4Toughening Effects through Optimizing Cell Structure and Deformation Behaviors of Al–Mg Foams显示文摘As widely used protective materials,the application of Al foams is still limited by their low intrinsic mechanical properties caused by the brittleness of struts.The introduction of Mg is recently demonstrated effective to improve the mechanical performance of Al foams;however,the mechanism of Mg modification is still not clear.In this work,Al-Mg foams are developed through a powder metallurgy process with excellent compression performance and high energy absorption capacity.The effects of Mg modification on the cell structure,toughness,and deformation behavior are investigated systematically.As a result,the small cell size of~1.8 mm and the high sphericity of 0.92 are achieved with 5% of Mg addition,delivering high compression stress of 8.5±0.43 MPa and energy absorption capacity of 6.9±0.36 MJ/m^(3),simultaneously.The synergistic mechanism for the improved mechanical performance is also demonstrated to be the combination of stress transfer and plastic deformation behavior of cells.The results provide a new strategy to develop high-performance foam materials by improving toughness and further promote the practical application.Hao Yu Xudong Yang Weiting Li Xudong Rong Siyuan Guo Lishi Ma Lizhuang Yang Junwei Sha Naiqin Zhao 2022Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,12:1

8Heterogeneity beyond tumor heterogeneity—SULF2 involvement in Wnt/β-catenin signaling activation in a heterogeneous side population of liver cancer cells显示文摘Introduction:Sulfatase 2(SULF2),an endogenous extracellular sulfatase,can remove 6-O-sulfate groups of glucosamine residues from heparan sulfate(HS)chains to modulate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which plays an important role in both liver carcinogenesis and embryogenesis.Side population(SP)cells are widely identified as stem-like cancer cells and are closely related to carcinoma metastasis,recurrence,and poor patient prognosis.However,the roles of SULF2 in SP cells of hepatomas are unclear,and the underlying mechanism is undefined.Objectives:This study aimed to compare the heterogeneity between SP cells and non-side population(NSP)cells derived from three different liver cancer cell lines and to elucidate the involvement of the SULF2-Wnt/β-catenin axis in liver cancer stem cells(CSCs)and its impact on the processes of carcinogenesis and invasiveness.Methods:In this work,three different liver cancer SP cells(HepG2,Huh7,and PRC/PRL/5)were sorted by flow cytometry.We also examined the migration and invasion behaviors of SP and NSP cells.To determine if this high tumorigenic potential of SP cells is correlated to SULF2,qPCR,western blotting,and immunofluorescence analysis were conducted.We also performed nude mouse xenograft experiments for in vivo analysis.Results:The results from the in vitro colony formation assay showed that SP cells exhibited a 2-fold higher colony formation efficiency compared to their NSP counterparts.The SP cells exhibited significantly higher potentials in terms of their migratory capacity and invasive ability compared to NSP cells.We found that higher expression of SULF2 in SP cells was associated with greater capabilities for clonogenicity,migration,and invasion.It was also linked to higher activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway via stimulation of key downstream factors,particularlyβ-catenin,c-Myc,and cyclin D1.Further,a positive correlation between the upregulated SULF2 expression and tumorigenesis in the in vivo nude mouse xenograft models was demonstrated,highlighting that the potential underlying mechanism was Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway activation.Conclusion:Our findings show that variable SULF2 expression was associated with differential activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which could lead to behavioral differences between SP and NSP cells and also among the SP cells of the three liver cancer cell lines assessed.It was reasonably concluded that the SULF2-Wnt/β-catenin axis could play an important role in the tumorigenicity of liver cancer stem cells.DONGYE YANG DONGDONG GUO YUNMEI PENG DONGMENG LIU YANQIU FU FEN SUN LISHI ZHOU JIAQI GUO LAIQING HUANG 2023BIOCELL2023,47,9:0

10Construction of a 980 nm laser-activated Pt(Ⅱ)metallacycle nanosystem for efficient and safe photo-induced bacteria sterilization显示文摘Although metal-based chemical agents have demonstrated promising bacteriostatic effects in phototherapy,their short excitation/emission wavelengths and inadequate phototherapy efficiencies make their application in vivo difficult.We therefore synthesized a novel Pt(Ⅱ)metallacycle(Pt1110)that can be activated with a 980 nm laser for photodiagnosis/treatment in deep tissue.We found that Pt1110 significantly improved photothermal conversion(95%improvement)and ^(1)O_(2) generation(ΦΔ75%increase)compared to the ligand itself 1 and was well capable of light-induced sterilization under safe laser irradiation(0.72 W/cm^(2)).In addition,Pt1110 has little to no toxicity to cells.After incorporated into liposome,Pt1110 NPs was effective in wound healing in infection and keratitis models upon laser irradiation,which was accurately observed by NIR-Ⅱfluorescence imaging.This novel metal-coordinated supramolecular material has a potential to become a universal platform for phototherapy in deep tissue.Yuling Xu Chonglu Li Jusung An Xin Ma Jingfang Yang Lishi Luo Yun Deng Jong Seung Kim Yao Sun 2023Science China Chemistry2023,66,1:0
11Chemokine Ligand 13 Expression is Abundant in the Tumor Microenvironment and Indicates Poor Prognosis of Kidney Clear Cell Carcinoma显示文摘The chemokine ligand 13-chemokine receptor 5(CXCL13-CXCR5)axis has been characterized as a critical tumor-promoting signaling pathway in the tumor microenvironment(TME)in multiple types of solid tumors.In this study,we analyzed the expression profile of CXCL13 in kidney clear cell carcinoma(KIRC)and its correlation with tumor-infiltrating immune cells(TIICs).A monoclonal antibody against CXCL13 with high affinity and purity was generated in our lab for western blot and immunohistochemistry(IHC).Bioinformatic analysis was performed based on bulk-seq data from the Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)-KIRC and single-cell RNA-seq data from scRNASeqDB and PanglaoDB.Results showed that high CXCL13 expression in TME was associated with shorter progression-free survival(PFS),disease-specific survival(DSS),and overall survival(OS).KIRC cell lines,as well as several other cancer cell lines,had negative CXCL13 expression.IHC staining from the Human Protein Atlas(HPA)and our tissue array indicated that CXCL13 might be mainly expressed by TIICs,but not KIRC tumor cells.CXCL13 expression was strongly and positively correlated withγδT cell abundance in TME.Besides,γδT cell infiltration was associated with poor survival of KIRC.Methylation 450k array data showed that CXCL13 promoter hypomethylation was common in TIICs.The methylation level of cg16361705 within the CXCL13 promoter might play an important role in modulating CXCL13 transcription.In conclusion,our study revealed that CXCL13 expression andγδT cell infiltration in TME is associated with unfavorable survival of KIRC.TIICs,most possiblyγδT cells,are the dominant source of CXCL13 in KIRC TME.MENGDAN WU MENGYAO SUN QINHUAI LAI YIN LU YUYIN FU YUJIA PENG WEIRONG LAI LISHI ZENG SHENGYAN ZHAO YUYAN LI ZHIXIONG ZHANG XIAOFENG CHEN FAN QIAO YIWEN ZHANG SHIJIE ZHOU LANTU GOU JINLIANG YANG 2021BIOCELL2021,45,3:0
12Fuzzy Logic-based Management of Hybrid Distribution Transformers Using LoRa Technology显示文摘Hybrid distribution transformers(HDTs)have better performance than traditional distribution transformers in improving power quality through reducing harmonics,unbalance,voltage fluctuations and low power factors in future smart power distribution systems.In order to increase the service life and reliability of hybrid distribution transformers,this paper proposes a remote management system using LoRa technology based on fuzzy logic.HDT based on a fuzzy logic judgment system(FLJS)replaces the Boolean logic with fuzzy logic and several power quality problems including power factors,load-side current harmonics and voltage unbalance are considered,as well as grid-side voltage deviation and unbalance.This management system can dynamically adjust the working states of HDT according to the output results of the FLJS to reduce the use time of power electronic devices.Due to the application of LoRa,this management system can remotely adjust the parameters of the FLJS in real time for different distribution network nodes to avoid frequent switching of HDT working states.In addition,it is able to remotely monitor the real-time working states and fault states of HDT to reduce recovery time and maintenance costs in case of HDT failure.Finally,simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed management system for HDT.Lishi Zhang Deliang Liang Hua Liu Yibin Liu Dawei Li Chuankai Yang 2023CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2023,9,3:0
