The nanostructure of roughly 150 nm in diameter with a spatial resolution of 6 nm is purely constructed by folding DNA. The picture observed by atomic force microscopy (AFM) is almost identical with the de-signed shape. | 2 | Saponins from Panax japonicus attenuate age-related neuroinflammation via regulation of the mitogen-activated protein kinase and nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathways显示文摘Neuroinflammation is recognized as an important pathogenic factor for aging and related cognitive disorders. Mitogen-activated protein kinase and nuclear factor kappa B signaling pathways may mediate neuroinflammation. Saponins from Panax japonicus are the most abundant and bioactive members in rhizomes of Panax japonicus, and show anti-inflammatory activity. However, it is not known whether saponin from Panax japonicus has an anti-inflammatory effect in the aging brain, and likewise its underlying mechanisms. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into control groups(3-, 9-, 15-, and 24-month-old groups) and saponins from Panax japonicus-treated groups. Saponins from Panax japonicus-treated groups were orally administrated saponins from Panax japonicus at three doses of 10, 30, and 60 mg/kg once daily for 6 months until the rats were 24 months old. Immunohistochemical staining and western blot assay results demonstrated that many microglia were activated in 24-month-old rats compared with 3-and 9-month-old rats. Expression of interleukin-1β, tumor necrosis factor-α, cyclooxygenase-2, and inducible nitric oxide synthase increased. Each dose of saponins from Panax japonicus visibly suppressed microglial activation in the aging rat brain, and inhibited expression levels of the above factors. Each dose of saponins from Panax japonicus markedly diminished levels of nuclear factor kappa B, IκBα, extracellular signal-regulated kinase, c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and p38. | 4 | Ratiometric delivery of doxorubicin and berberine by liposome enables superior therapeutic index than Doxil?显示文摘Although the appearance of Doxil alleviated the cardiotoxicity of DOX, the progression-free survival of patients was not prolonged compared with traditional medication regimens, and side effects such as hand-foot syndrome has occurred. In order to solve this dilemma, we have designed a novel co-delivery strategy to construct a co-loaded liposome of berberine(BER) and doxorubicin(DOX), which was called Lipo Be Do. The optimal synergistic ratio of the two drugs was screened by cell cytotoxicity experiments in vitro, and the optimal attenuation ratio was further determined by in vivo cardiac H&E staining pathological sections. The optimal combination treatment caused a robust increase in apoptotic cells of 4T1, as compared to drug alone treatment. The prepared co-loaded liposome, Lipo Be Do, had high encapsulation efficiency and good stability. The nanoliposome carrier controlled the biological fate of the drugs and maintained a pre-defined optimal ratio in vivo. The Lipo Be Do significantly inhibited tumor growth in 4T1 murine mammary carcinoma model compared with Doxil(P < 0.05), and completely overcame the myocardial rupture toxicity caused by Doxil in mice. | 5 | PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS Interact with the ABA Receptors PYL8 and PYL9 to Orchestrate ABA Signaling in Darkness显示文摘PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTORS(PIFs)are a group of basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors that can physically interact with photoreceptors,including phytochromes and cryptochromes.It was previously demonstrated that PIFs accumulated in darkness and repressed seedling photomorphogenesis,and that PIFs linked different photosensory and hormonal pathways to control plant growth and development.In this study,we show that PIFs positively regulate the ABA signaling pathway during the seedling stage specifically in darkness.We found that PIFs positively regulate ABI5 transcript and protein levels in darkness in response to exogenous ABA treatment by binding directly to the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter.Consistently,PIFs and the G-box motifs in the ABI5 promoter determine ABI5 expression in darkness,and overexpression of ABI5 could rescue the ABA-insensitive phenotypes of pifq mutants in the dark.Moreover,we discovered that PIFs can physically interact with the ABA receptors PYL8 and PYL9,and that this interaction is not regulated by ABA.Further analyses showed that PYL8 and PYL9 promote PIF4 protein accumulation in the dark and enhance PIF4 binding to the ABI5 promoter,but negatively regulate PIF4-mediated ABI5 activation.Taken together,our data demonstrate that PIFs interact with ABA receptors to orchestrate ABA signaling in darkness by controlling ABI5 expression,providing new insights into the pivotal roles of PIFs as signal integrators in regulating plant growth and development. | Lijuan Qi Shan Liu Cong Li Jingying Fu Yanjun Jing Jinkui Cheng Hong Li Dun Zhang Xiaoji Wang Xiaojing Dong Run Han Bosheng Li Yu Zhang Zhen Li William Terzaghi Chun-Peng Song Rongcheng Lin Zhizhong Gong Jigang Li | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020，13，3： | 3 |

| 9 | Correction of the temperature effect in calibration of a solar radio telescope显示文摘This work analyzes the annual fluctuation of the observation data of the Mingantu Solar radio Telescope(MST)in S,C and X bands.It is found that the data vary with local air temperature as the logarithmic attenuation of equipment increases with temperature and frequency.A simplified and effective calibration method is proposed,which is used to calibrate the MST data in 2018-2020,while the correction coefficients are calculated from data in 2018-2019.For S,C and X bands,the root mean square errors of one polarization are 2.7,5.7 and 20 sfu,and the relative errors are 4%,6%and 8%respectively.The calibration of MUSER and SBRS spectra is also performed.The relative errors of MUSER at 1700 MHz,SBRS at 2800 MHz,3050 MHz and 3350 MHz are 8%,8%,11%and 10%respectively.We found that several factors may affect the calibration accuracy,especially at X-band.The method is expected to work for other radio telescopes with similar design. | Li-Hong Geng Cheng-Ming Tan Yi-Hua Yan Bao-Lin Tan Dong-Hao Liu Jin-Ping Dun | 2021 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2021，21，6： | 2 |
| 10 | Three Super Active Regions in the Descending Phase of Solar Cycle 23显示文摘We analyze the magnetic configurations of three super active regions,NOAA 10484, 10486 and 10488, observed by the Huairou Multi-Channel Solar Telescope (MCST) from 2003 October 18 to November 4. Many energetic phenomena,such as flares (including a X-28 flare) and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), occurred during this period. We think that strong shear and fast emergence of magnetic flux are the main causes of these events. | 13 | Removal of refractory organics and heavy metals in landfill leachate concentrate by peroxi-coagulation process显示文摘Landfill leachate is a complex effluent and it is difficult to deal with. Electrochemical methods have been considered as a promising alternative technology for treatment of landfill leachate with refractory organic contaminants and heavy metals. Peroxi-coagulation(PC)process with iron anode and modified graphite felt cathode was developed for efficient landfill leachate concentrate treatment. Compared to electro-Fenton(EF) and electrocoagulation(EC) processes, the PC process was more cost-effective due to the combined action of·OH oxidation and iron hydroxides coagulation. A maximal TOC removal of 77.2% ± 1.4% was obtained after 360 min at initial p H = 5.0 and current density of 10 m A/cm^(2). After the PC process, concentrations of all seven heavy metals in the final effluents were below the allowable emission limits given by the present regulatory standards. The method preference for heavy metal removal was PC > EC > EF. Based on the three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy coupled with regional integration analysis during the PC treatment, the florescence peaks of both humic acids and fulvic acids disappeared after treatment for 360min. Decreasing trends were observed in the fluorescent regional standard volumes for aromatic protein Ⅰ(31.4%), aromatic protein Ⅱ(63.7%), fulvic acid-like(69.5%), soluble microbial by-product-like(75%) and humic acid-like regions(76.3%). | 14 | Effect of Plasticizers on Properties of Rice Straw Fiber Film显示文摘In order to improve the properties of rice straw fiber film, one factor contrast test method was employed. Plasticizer type was chosen as input variable, dry tension strength and elongation, wet tension strength and elongation, bursting strength and tearing strength were chosen as indexes. The results showed that there were significant differences among the means of dry tension strength, dry elongation and bursting strength of different plasticizers; there were not significant differences among the means of wet tension strength, wet elongation and tearing strength of different plasticizers; for dry tension strength and elongation, glycerol had a significant difference with sorbitol and PEG, no significant difference was observed between sorbitol and PEG, dry tension strength added glycerol had been reduced 6.8% compared with that added sorbitol, reduced 9.5% compared with that added PEG; elongation had been improved 6.1% and 9.4%, respectively; for bursting strength, sorbitol had a significant difference with glycerol and PEG, no significant difference was observed between glycerol and PEG; bursting strength added glycerol and added PEG had been improved 6.9% and 5.6%, respectively compared with that of the added sorbitol.
