3Characteristics of the lunar samples returned by the Chang'E-5 mission显示文摘Forty-five years after the Apollo and Luna missions returned lunar samples,China's Chang’E-5(CE-5)mission collected new samples from the mid-latitude region in the northeastern Oceanus Procellarum of the Moon.Our study shows that 95%of CE-5 lunar soil sizes are found to be within the range of 1.40-9.35μm,while 95%of the soils by mass are within the size range of 4.84-432.27μm.The bulk density,true density and specific surface area of CE-5 soils are 1.2387 g/cm^(3),3.1952 g/cm^(3) and 0.56 m^(2)/g,respectively.Fragments from the CE-5 regolith are classified into igneous clasts(mostly basalt),agglutinate and glass.A few breccias were also found.The minerals and compositions of CE-5 soils are consistent with mare basalts and can be classified as low-Ti/low-Al/low-K type with lower rare-earth-element contents than materials rich in potassium,rare earth element and phosphorus.CE-5 soils have high FeO and low Mg index,which could represent a new class of basalt.Chunlai Li Hao Hu Meng-Fei Yang Zhao-Yu Pei Qin Zhou Xin Ren Bin Liu Dawei Liu Xingguo Zeng Guangliang Zhang Hongbo Zhang Jianjun Liu Qiong Wang Xiangjin Deng Caijin Xiao Yonggang Yao Dingshuai Xue Wei Zuo Yan Su Weibin Wen Ziyuan Ouyang 2022National Science Review2022,9,2:12

6Thiolated arsenicals in arsenic metabolism: Occurrence,formation, and biological implications显示文摘Arsenic(As) is a notoriously toxic pollutant of health concern worldwide with potential risk of cancer induction, but meanwhile it is used as medicines for the treatment of different conditions including hematological cancers. Arsenic can undergo extensive metabolism in biological systems, and both toxicological and therapeutic effects of arsenic compounds are closely related to their metabolism. Recent studies have identified methylated thioarsenicals as a new class of arsenic metabolites in biological systems after exposure of inorganic and organic arsenicals, including arsenite, dimethylarsinic acid(DMAV), dimethylarsinous glutathione(DMAIIIGS), and arsenosugars. The increasing detection of thiolated arsenicals,including monomethylmonothioarsonic acid(MMMTAV), dimethylmonothioarsinic acid(DMMTAV) and its glutathione conjugate(DMMTAVGS), and dimethyldithioarsinic acid(DMDTAV) suggests that thioarsenicals may be important metabolites and play important roles in arsenic toxicity and therapeutic effects. 8Quality metrics and outcomes among critically ill patients in China:results of the national clinical quality control indicators for critical care medicine survey 2015-2019显示文摘Background:It is crucial to improve the quality of care provided to ICU patient,therefore a national survey of the medical quality of intensive care units(ICUs)was conducted to analyze adherence to quality metrics and outcomes among critically ill patients in China from 2015 to 2019.Methods:This was an ICU-level study based on a 15-indicator online survey conducted in China.Considering that ICU care quality may vary between secondary and tertiary hospitals,direct standardization was adopted to compare the rates of ICU quality indicators among provinces/regions.Multivariate analysis was performed to identify potential factors for in-hospital mortality and factors related to ventilator-associated pneumonia(VAP),catheter-related bloodstream infections(CRBSIs),and catheter-associated urinary tract infections(CAUTIs).Results:From the survey,the proportions of structural indicators were 1.83%for the number of ICU inpatients relative to the total number of inpatients,1.44%for ICU bed occupancy relative to the total inpatient bed occupancy,and 51.08%for inpatients with Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation II scores≥15.The proportions of procedural indicators were 74.37%and 76.60%for 3-hour and 6-hour surviving sepsis campaign bundle compliance,respectively,62.93%for microbiology detection,58.24%for deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis,1.49%for unplanned endotracheal extubations,1.99%for extubated inpatients reintubated within 48 hours,6.38%for unplanned transfer to the ICU,and 1.20%for 48-hour ICU readmission.The proportions of outcome indicators were 1.28‰for VAP,3.06‰for CRBSI,3.65‰for CAUTI,and 10.19%for in-hospital mortality.Although the indicators varied greatly across provinces and regions,the treatment level of ICUs in China has been stable and improved based on various quality control indicators in the past 5 years.The overall mortality rate has dropped from 10.19%to approximately 8%.Conclusions:The quality indicators of medical care in China’s ICUs are heterogeneous,which is reflected in geographic disparities and grades of hospitals.This study is of great significance for improving the homogeneity of ICUs in China.Xi Rui Fen Dong Xudong Ma Longxiang Su Guangliang Shan Yanhong Guo Yun Long Dawei Liu Xiang Zhou 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,9:4

10Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 synergistically determine the rice heading date and yield-related agronomic traits显示文摘Heading date determines the seasonal and regional adaptation of rice(Oryza sativa L.)varieties and is mainly controlled by photoperiod sensitivity(PS).The core heading date genes Hd1,Ghd7,DTH8,and PRR37 act synergistically in regulating the PS.In this study,we systematically analyze the heading date,PS,and agronomic traits of eight homozygous lines with various combinations of Hd1,Ghd7,and DTH8 alleles in the prr37 background under long-day(LD)and short-day(SD)conditions,respectively.We find that Hd1 alone promotes heading,regardless of the day length.However,under LDs,Hd1 suppresses flowering,in coordination with functional Ghd7 or with Ghd7 and DTH8.These loci cooperate to negatively regulate the Ehd1-Hd3 a/RFT1 pathway and delay heading.Under SDs,Hd1 competes with various heading suppressors to promote heading.Therefore,the dual function of Hd1 is vital for PS.The lines carrying Hd1 alone show reduced plant height with fewer primary and secondary branches in panicles.Lines carrying Ghd7 and DTH8(with hd1)show delayed heading and improve agronomic traits.Overall,our results reveal the regulation of rice PS flowering by the core heading date genes and their effects on agronomic traits,providing valuable information for the selection of rice varieties for adaptation to different light and temperature conditions.Kangli Sun Minghui Huang Wubei Zong Dongdong Xiao Chen Lei Yanqiu Luo Yingang Song Shengting Li Yu Hao Wanni Luo Bingqun Xu Xiaotong Guo Guangliang Wei Letian Chen Yao-Guang Liu Jingxin Guo 2022Journal of Genetics and Genomics2022,49,5:4
11Fangjihuangqi Tang improved lower urinary tract dysfunction in benign prostatic hyperplasia rats model显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigated the effect and mechanism of Fangjihuangqi Tang (FHT) on lower urinary tract dysfunction induced by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in rats. METHODS: Male rats were randomly divided into seven groups: normal, model, finasteride (0.5 mg/ kg), terazosin (0.5 mg/kg), and FHT (10, 5, 2.5 g/kg). Rats were administered testosterone (0.5 mg sc) for 6 weeks after orchiectomy, excluding the normal group. All rats were intragastrically administered assigned drugs for 4 weeks from the third week. Urodynamics were assessed in rats under anesthesia. Serum dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP) were measured. The prostate index (PI), bladder index (BI), and pathological detection were evaluated. RESULTS: In the model group, the PI, BI, serum DHT, serum PAP, threshold pressure (TP), micturition pressure (MP), and residual urine volume (RV)were significantly higher. Moreover, inter-micturition duration (IMD) was significantly lower and the prostatic and bladder showed obvious pathological changes. The IMD was significantly higher, while BI, TP, MP, and RV were significantly lower and bladder pathological changes were alleviated in the FHT (10, 5 g/kg), finasteride, and terazosin groups. The PI, DHT, and PAP were significantly lower in the finasteride group, but they did not change significantly in the FHT (10, 5, 2.5 g/kg) and terazosin groups. 12Color image detail enhancement based on quaternion guided filter显示文摘Color image enhancement is an active research field in image processing. Currently, many image enhancement methods are capable of enhancing the details of the color image. However, these methods only process the red, green and blue(RGB) color channels separately, which leads to color distortion easily. In order to overcome this problem, the paper presents an approach to integrate the quaternion theory into the traditional guided filter to obtain a quaternion guided filter(QGF). This method makes full use of the color information of an image to realize the holistic processing of RGB color channels. So as to preserve color information while enhancing details, this paper proposes a color image detail enhancement algorithm based on the QGF. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is effective in the applications of the color image detail enhancement, and enables image's edges to be more prominent and texture clearer while avoiding color distortion. 13Temporal gravity changes before the 2008 Yutian Ms7.3 earthquake显示文摘Based on the data of the repeated gravity observation network in Chinese mainland since 1998,we analyzed the temporal changes of regional gravity field before the 2008 Yutian Ms7.3 earthquake.The result shows some mid-to-long term(two to ten years)changes during the earthquake's preparation.Notable features are a gravity increase lasting several years and a relatively large-scaled gradient zone of gravity change,the former indicating a continuous energy accumulation and the latter a possible location of seismic rupture.These gravity changes showed a trend of increase-accelerated increase-decelerated increase,similar to that of the Tangshan Ms7.8 earthquake in 1976.The maximum accumulated gravity change related to the earthquake reached 200×10-8 ms-2.Shen Chongyang Li Hui Sun Shaoan Yang Guangliang Xuan Songbai Tan Hongbo Liu Shaoming 2012Geodesy and Geodynamics2012,3,1:3
14Simulation of urban expansion based on cellular automata and maximum entropy model显示文摘Urban expansion is a hot topic in land use/land cover change(LUCC)researches.In this paper,maximum entropy model and cellular automata(CA)model are coupled into a new CA model(Maxent-CA)for urban expansion.This model can help to obtain transition rules from single-period dataset.Moreover,it can be constructed and calibrated easily with several steps.Firstly,Maxent-CA model was built by using remote sensing data of China in 2000(basic data)and spatial variables(such as population density and Euclidean distance to cities).Secondly,the proposed model was calibrated by analyzing training samples,neighborhood structure and spatial scale.Finally,this model was verified by comparing logistic regression CA model and their simulation results.Experiments showed that suitable sampling ratio(sampling ratio equals the proportion of urban land in the whole region)and von Neumann neighborhood structure will help to yield better results.Spatial structure of simulation results becomes simple as spatial resolution decreases.Besides,simulation accuracy is significantly affected by spatial resolution.Compared to simulation results of logistic regression CA model,Maxent-CA model can avoid clusters phenomenon and obtain better results matching actual situation.It is found that the proposed model performs well in simulating urban expansion of China.It will be helpful for simulating even larger study area in the background of global environment changes.Yihan ZHANG Xiaoping LIU Guangliang CHEN Guohua HU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,5:3
15Correlation analysis and partial least square modeling to quantify typical minerals with Chang'E-3 visible and near-infrared imaging spectrometer's ground validation data显示文摘In 2013, Chang'E-3 program will develop lunar mineral resources in-situ detection. A Visible and Near-infrared Imaging Spectrometer(VNIS) has been selected as one payload of CE-3 lunar rover to achieve this goal. It is critical and urgent to evaluate VNIS' spectrum data quality and validate quantification methods for mineral composition before its launch. Ground validation experiment of VNIS was carried out to complete the two goals, by simulating CE-3 lunar rover's detection environment on lunar surface in the laboratory. Based on the hyperspectral reflectance data derived, Correlation Analysis and Partial Least Square(CA-PLS) algorithm is applied to predict abundance of four lunar typical minerals(pyroxene, plagioclase, ilmenite and olivine) in their mixture. We firstly selected a set of VNIS' spectral parameters which highly correlated with minerals' abundance by correlation analysis(CA), and then stepwise regression method was used to find out spectral parameters which make the largest contributions to the mineral contents. At last, functions were derived to link minerals' abundance and spectral parameters by partial least square(PLS) algorithm. Not considering the effect of maturity, agglutinate and Fe0, we found that there are wonderful correlations between these four minerals and VNIS' spectral parameters, e.g. the abundance of pyroxene correlates positively with the mixture's absorption depth, the value of absorption depth added as the increasing of pyroxene's abundance. But the abundance of plagioclase correlates negatively with the spectral parameters of band ratio, the value of band ratio would decrease when the abundance of plagioclase increased. Similar to plagioclase, the abundance of ilmenite and olivine has a negative correlation with the mixture's reflectance data, if the abundance of ilmenite or olivine increase, the reflectance values of the mixture will decrease. Through model validation, better estimates of pyroxene, plagioclase and ilmenite's abundances are given. 16Porcine Bocavirus: A 10-Year History since Its Discovery显示文摘Porcine bocavirus(PBoV)is a single-stranded DNA virus,belongs to the genus Bocaparvovirus of family Parvoviridae.It was discovered along with porcine circovirus 2(PCV 2)and torque tenovirus(TTV)in the lymph nodes of pigs suffering from postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome(PMWS)in Sweden in 2009.PBoV has been reported throughout the world,mostly in weaning piglets,and has a broad range of tissue tropism.Since PBoV is prevalent in healthy as well as clinically infected pigs and is mostly associated with coinfection with other viruses,the pathogenic nature of PBoV is still unclear.Currently,there are no cell lines available for the study of PBoV,and animal model experiments have not been described.This review summarizes the current state of knowledge about PBoV,including the epidemiology,evolution analysis,detection methods,pathogenesis and public health concerns.Manita Aryal Guangliang Liu 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,6:3
17Quercetin promotes human epidermal stem cell proliferation through the estrogen receptor/β-catenin/c-Myc/cyclin A2 signaling pathway显示文摘Skin epidermal stem cells(EpSCs)play an important role in wound healing.Quercetin is a phytoestrogen reported to accelerate skin wound healing,but its effect on EpSCs is unknown.In this study,we investigated the effect of quercetin on human EpSC proliferation and explored the underlying mechanisms.We found that quercetin at 0.1~1μM significantly promoted EpSC proliferation and increased the number of cells in S phase.The pro-proliferative effect of quercetin on EpSCs was confirmed in cultured human skin tissue.Mechanistic studies showed that quercetin significantly upregulated the expressions ofβ-catenin,c-Myc,and cyclins A2 and E1.Inhibitor forβ-catenin or c-Myc significantly inhibited quercetin-induced EpSC proliferation.Theβ-catenin inhibitor XAV-939 suppressed quercetin-induced expressions ofβ-catenin,c-Myc,and cyclins A2 and E1.The c-Myc inhibitor 10058-F4 inhibited the upregulation of c-Myc and cyclin A2 by quercetin.Pretreatment of EpSCs with estrogen receptor(ER)antagonist ICI182780,but not the G protein-coupled ER1 antagonist G15,reversed quercetin-induced cell proliferation and upregulation ofβ-catenin,c-Myc,and cyclin A2.Collectively,these results indicate that quercetin promotes EpSC proliferation through ER-mediated activation ofβ-catenin/c-Myc/cyclinA2 signaling pathway and ER-independent upregulation of cyclin E1 and that quercetin may accelerate skin wound healing through promoting EpSC proliferation.As EpSCs are used not only in clinic to treat skin wounds but also as seed cells in skin tissue engineering,quercetin is a useful reagent to expand EpSCs for basic research,skin wound treatment,and skin tissue engineering.Zhaodong Wang Guangliang Zhang Yingying Le Jihui Ju Ping Zhang Dapeng Wan Qiang Zhao Guangzhe Jin Hao Su Jinwei Liu Jiaxuan Feng Yi Fu Ruixing Hou 2020Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2020,52,10:3

19A novel decellularized matrix of Wnt signaling-activated osteocytes accelerates the repair of critical-sized parietal bone defects with osteoclastogenesis, angiogenesis, and neurogenesis显示文摘Cell source is the key to decellularized matrix(DM)strategy.This study compared 3 cell types,osteocytes with/without dominant active Wnt/β-catenin signaling(daCO and WTO)and bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs)for their DMs in bone repair.Decellularization removes all organelles and>95%DNA,and retained>74%collagen and>71%GAG,maintains the integrity of cell basement membrane with dense boundaries showing oval and honeycomb structure in osteocytic DM and smooth but irregular shape in the BMSC-DM.DM produced higher cell survival rate(90%)and higher proliferative activity.In vitro,daCO-DM induces more and longer stress fibers in BMSCs,conducive to cell adhesion,spreading,and osteogenic differentiation.8-wk after implantation of the critical-sized parietal bone defect model,daCO-DM formed tight structures,composed of a large number of densely-arranged type-I collagen under polarized light microscope,which is similar to and integrated with host bone.BV/TV(>54%)was 1.5,2.9,and 3.5 times of WTO-DM,BMSC-DM,and none-DM groups,and N.Ob/T.Ar(3.2×10^(2)/mm^(2))was 1.7,2.9,and 3.3 times.At 4-wk,daCO-DM induced osteoclastogenesis,2.3 times higher than WTO-DM;but BMSC-DM or none-DM didn't.daCO-DM increased the expression of RANKL and MCSF,Vegfa and Angpt1,and Ngf in BMSCs,which contributes to osteoclastogenesis,angiogenesis,and neurogenesis,respectively.daCO-DM promoted H-type vessel formation and nerve markersβ3-tubulin and NeuN expression.Conclusion:daCO-DM produces metabolic and neurovascularized organoid bone to accelerate the repair of bone defects.These features are expected to achieve the effect of autologous bone transplantation,suitable for transformation application.Xiaofang Wang Yufei Ma Jie Chen Yujiao Liu Guangliang Liu Pengtao Wang Bo Wang Makoto M.Taketo Teresita Bellido Xiaolin Tu 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,3:2
