| 1 | ZmCOL3, a CCT gene represses flowering in maize by interfering with the circadian clock and activating expression of ZmCCT显示文摘Flowering time is a trait vital to the adaptation of flowering plants to different environments.Here, we report that CCT domain genes play an important role in flowering in maize(Zea mays L.).Among the 53 CCT family genes we identified in maize, 28 were located in flowering time quantitative trait locus regions and 15 were significantly associated with flowering time, based on candidate-gene association mapping analysis.Furthermore, a CCT gene named ZmCOL3 was shown to be a repressor of flowering.Overexpressing ZmCOL3 delayed flowering time by approximately 4 d, in either long-day or short-day conditions.The absence of one cytosine in the ZmCOL3 3'UTR and the presence of a 551 bp fragment in the promoter region are likely the causal polymorphisms contributing to the maize adaptation from tropical to temperate regions.We propose a modified model of the maize photoperiod pathway, wherein ZmCOL3 acts as an inhibitor of flowering either by transactivating transcription of ZmCCT, one of the key genes regulating maize flowering, or by interfering with the circadian clock. | Minliang Jin Xiangguo Liu Wei Jia Haijun Liu Wenqiang Li Yong Peng Yanfang Du Yuebin Wang Yuejia Yin Xuehai Zhang Qing Liu Min Deng Nan Li Xiyan Cui Dongyun Hao Jianbing Yan | 2018 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2018,60,6: | 14 |

| 4 | Multi-beam and seismic investigations of the active Haima cold seeps,northwestern South China Sea显示文摘To confirm the seabed fluid flow at the Haima cold seeps,an integrated study of multi-beam and seismic data reveals the morphology and fate of four bubble plumes and investigates the detailed subsurface structure of the active seepage area.The shapes of bubble plumes are not constant and influenced by the northeastward bottom currents,but the water depth where these bubble plumes disappear(630–650 m below the sea level)(mbsl)is very close to the upper limit of the gas hydrate stability zone in the water column(620 m below the sea level),as calculated from the CTD data within the study area,supporting the“hydrate skin”hypothesis.Gas chimneys directly below the bottom simulating reflectors,found at most sites,are speculated as essential pathways for both thermogenic gas and biogenic gas migrating from deep formations to the gas hydrate stability zone.The fracture network on the top of the basement uplift may be heavily gas-charged,which accounts for the chimney with several kilometers in diameter(beneath Plumes B and C).The much smaller gas chimney(beneath Plume D)may stem from gas saturated localized strong permeability zone.High-resolution seismic profiles reveal pipe-like structures,characterized by stacked localized amplitude anomalies,just beneath all the plumes,which act as the fluid conduits conveying gas from the gas hydrate-bearing sediments to the seafloor,feeding the gas plumes.The differences between these pipe-like structures indicate the dynamic process of gas seepage,which may be controlled by the build-up and dissipation of pore pressure.The 3D seismic data show high saturated gas hydrates with high RMS amplitude tend to cluster on the periphery of the gas chimney.Understanding the fluid migration and hydrate accumulation pattern of the Haima cold seeps can aid in the further exploration and study on the dynamic gas hydrate system in the South China Sea. | Bin Liu Jiangxin Chen Li Yang Minliang Duan Shengxuan Liu Yongxian Guan Pengcheng Shu | 2021 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2021,40,7: | 3 |

| 9 | Complex genetic architecture underlying the plasticity of maize agronomic traits显示文摘Phenotypic plasticity is the ability of a given genotype to produce multiple phenotypes in response to changing environmental conditions.Understanding the genetic basis of phenotypic plasticity and establishing a predictive model is highly relevant to future agriculture under a changing climate.Here we report findings on the genetic basis of phenotypic plasticity for 23 complex traits using a diverse maize population planted at five sites with distinct environmental conditions.We found that latituderelated environmental factors were the main drivers of across-site variation in flowering time traits but not in plant architecture or yield traits.For the 23 traits,we detected 109 quantitative trait loci(QTLs),29 for mean values,66 for plasticity,and 14 for both parameters,and 80%of the QTLs interacted with latitude.The effects of several QTLs changed in magnitude or sign,driving variation in phenotypic plasticity.We experimentally validated one plastic gene,ZmTPS14.1,whose effect was likely mediated by the compensation effect of ZmSPL6 from a downstream pathway.By integrating genetic diversity,environmental variation,and their interaction into a joint model,we could provide site-specific predictions with increased accuracy by as much as 9.9%,2.2%,and 2.6%for days to tassel,plant height,and ear weight,respectively.This study revealed a complex genetic architecture involving multiple alleles,pleiotropy,and genotype-byenvironment interaction that underlies variation in the mean and plasticity of maize complex traits.It provides novel insights into the dynamic genetic architecture of agronomic traits in response to changing environments,paving a practical way toward precision agriculture. | Minliang Jin Haijun Liu Xiangguo Liu Tingting Guo Jia Guo Yuejia Yin Yan Ji Zhenxian Li Jinhong Zhang Xiaqing Wang Feng Qiao Yingjie Xiao Yanjun Zan Jianbing Yan | 2023 | Plant Communications2023,4,3: | 1 |

| 18 | 2-2 Complete and Incomplete Fusion of 9Be + 169Tm, 187Re at Near-barrier Energies显示文摘Fusion cross sections with weakly bound nuclei have been a subject of great interest in the last few years[1;2]. Inthis field, the basic question is whether complete fusion (CF) is enhanced or suppressed due to diffused density andhigh probability of breakup. The answer to this question depends on the energy regime (above or below Coulombbarrier) and on different target mass regions. Therefore, one important approach to investigate this subject is tostudy the systematic behavior of the CF suppression as a function of the target mass or charge.For fusion induced by 9Be, there are some reported works on the CF on different targets, ranging from 89Y to209Bi[2], but the suppression factor of the CF at near barrier energies does not follow a systematic behavior. Forlighter targets, like 27Al and 64Zn [3;4] and for 238U[5], only total fusion (TF) cross sections were measured.
