2Effects of cultivation of Osr HSA transgenic rice on functional diversity of microbial communities in the soil rhizosphere显示文摘With the widespread cultivation of transgenic crops, there is increasing concern about unintended effects of these crops on soil environmental quality. In this study, we used the Biolog method and ELISA to evaluate the possible effects of Osr HSA transgenic rice on soil microbial utilization of carbon substrates under field conditions. There were no significant differences in average well-color development(AWCD) values, Shannon–Wiener diversity index(H), Simpson dominance indices(D) and Shannon–Wiener evenness indices(E) of microbial communities in rhizosphere soils at eight samplings between Osr HSA transgenic rice and its non-transgenic counterpart. The main carbon sources utilized by soil microbes were carbohydrates, carboxylic acids, amino acids and polymers. The types,capacities and patterns of carbon source utilization by microbial communities in rhizosphere soils were similar throughout the detection period. We detected no Osr HSA protein in the roots of Osr HSA transgenic rice. 3Applying DNA Barcoding to Identify Actinidia in the Northeast of China显示文摘Identification of kiwifruit germplasm materials is the basis of protecting and utilizing these resources. However,identifying Actinidia arguta varieties based on morphology is difficult,especially for non-specialists. In this study,we collected 180 specimens comprising 60 varieties of three species( A. arguta,A. kolomikta,and A. polygama) from the Northeast of China. The emphasis of our study was on the feasibility of identifying A. arguta varieties. Here,we used common analysis methods( genetic distance,phylogenetic analysis and the DNA barcoding gap) and SNPs analysis to evaluate the discriminatory power of different DNA barcoding markers. The results revealed that common methods were insufficient to identify A. arguta varieties but SNPs analysis based on DNA barcoden was the potential method for identifying A. arguta varieties. 4Designing heterostructured FeP–CoP for oxygen evolution reaction:Interface engineering to enhance electrocatalytic performance显示文摘It is significant to develop highly efficient electrocatalysts for energy conversion systems.Interface engineering is one of the most feasible approaches to effectively enhance the electrocatalytic activity.Herein,the density functional theory(DFT)calculations predict that the potential barriers of Fe sites at the interface of FeP–CoP heterostructures are lower than that of Fe sites in FeP nanoparticles(NPs),Co sites in CoP NPs,or Co sites in heterostructures.Motivated by the DFT calculation results,FeP–CoP heterostructures have been designed and synthesized by a metal–organic frameworks(MOFs)confined-phosphorization method.The FeP–CoP exhibits the lowest overpotential of 230 mV at the current density of 10 mA·cm^(−2)for oxygen evolution reaction(OER),compared with FeP(470 mV)and CoP(340 mV),which outperforms most of transition metal-based catalysts.The Tafel analysis of FeP–CoP heterostructures shows an improved reaction kinetic pathway with the smallest slope of 90.3 mV·dec^(−1),as compared to the Tafel slopes of FeP NPs(137 mV·dec^(−1))and CoP NPs(114 mV·dec^(−1)).And the FeP–CoP shows extraordinary long-term stability over 24 h.The excellent activity and long-term stability of FeP–CoP derive from the synergistic effect between FeP and CoP.Shuang Hou Ansai Zhang Qi Zhou Yingjie Wen Sixie Zhang Linfeng Su Xinjie Huang Tian Wang Kun Rui Cheng Wang Huiling Liu Zhiyi Lu Peilei He 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:2
5CmBES1 is a regulator of boundary formation in chrysanthemum ray florets显示文摘Chrysanthemum(Chrysanthemum morifolium)is an ideal model species for studying petal morphogenesis because of the diversity in the flower form across varieties;however,the molecular mechanisms underlying petal development are poorly understood.Here,we show that the brassinosteroid transcription factor BRI1-EMS-SUPPRESSOR 1(CmBES1)in chrysanthemum(C.morifolium cv.Jinba)is important for organ boundary formation because it represses organ boundary identity genes.Chrysanthemum plants overexpressing CmBES1 displayed increased fusion of the outermost ray florets due to the loss of differentiation of the two dorsal petals,which developed simultaneously with the ventral petals.RNA-seq analysis of the overexpression lines revealed potential genes and pathways involved in petal development,such as CUP-SHAPED COTYLEDON(CUC2),CYCLOIDEA 4(CYC4),genes encoding MADS-box transcription factors and homeodomain-leucine zippers(HD-Zips)and auxin pathway-related genes.This study characterizes the role of CmBES1 in ray floret development by its modulation of flower development and boundary identity genes in chrysanthemum.Peilei Cheng Yanan Liu Yiman Yang Hong Chen Hua Cheng Qian Hu Zixin Zhang Jiaojiao Gao Jiaxin Zhang Lian Ding Weimin Fang Sumei Chen Fadi Chen Jiafu Jiang 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:2

12Real-time identification of multiple nanoclusters with a protein nanopore in single-cluster level显示文摘It is important and challenging to analyze nanocluster structure with atomic precision.Herein,α-hemolysin nanopore was used to identify nanoclusters at the single molecule level by providing two-dimensional(2D)dwell time–current blockage spectra and translocation event frequency which sensitively depended on their structures.Nanoclusters such as Anderson,Keggin,Dawson,and a few lacunary Dawson polyoxometalates with very similar structures,even with only a two-atom difference,could be discriminated.This nanopore device could simultaneously measure multiple nanoclusters in a mixture qualitatively and quantitatively.Furthermore,molecular dynamics(MD)simulations provided microscopic understandings of the nanocluster translocation dynamics and yielded 2D dwell time–current blockage spectra in close agreement with experiments.The nanopore platform provides a novel powerful tool for nanocluster characterization.Ling Zhang Peilei He Huang Chen Qingda Liu Libo Li Xun Wang Jinghong Li 2024Nano Research2024,17,1:0
13A Shape-Memory Deployable Subsystem with a Large Folding Ratio in China’s Tianwen-1 Mars Exploration Mission显示文摘Once China’s Tianwen-1 Mars probe arrived in a Mars orbit after a seven-month flight in the deep cold space environment,it would be urgently necessary to monitor its state and the surrounding environment.To address this issue,we developed a flexible deployable subsystem based on shape memory polymer composites(SMPC-FDS)with a large folding ratio,which incorporates a camera and two temperature telemetry points for monitoring the local state of the Mars orbiter and the deep space environment.Here,we report on the development,testing,and successful application of the SMPC-FDS.Before reaching its Mars remote-sensing orbit,the SMPC-FDS is designed to be in a folded state with high stiffness;after reaching orbit,it is in a deployed state with a large envelope.The transition from the folded state to the deployed state is achieved by electrically heating the shape memory polymer composites(SMPCs);during this process,the camera on the SMPC-FDS can capture the local state of the orbiter from multiple angles.Moreover,temperature telemetry points on the SMPC-FDS provide feedback on the environment temperature and the temperature change of the SMPCs during the energization process.By simulating a Mars on-orbit space environment,the engineering reliability of the SMPC-FDS was comprehensively verified in terms of the material properties,structural dynamic performance,and thermal vacuum deployment feasibility.Since the launch of Tianwen-1 on 23 July 2020,scientific data on the temperature environment around Tianwen-1 has been successfully acquired from the telemetry points on the SMPCFDS,and the local state of the orbiter has been photographed in orbit,showing the national flag of China fixed on the orbiter.Chengjun Zeng Liwu Liu Yang Du Miao Yu Xiaozhou Xin Tianzhen Liu Peilei Xu Yu Yan Dou Zhang Wenxu Dai Xin Lan Fenghua Zhang Linlin Wang Xue Wan Wenfeng Bian Yanju Liu Jinsong Leng 2023Engineering2023,,9:0

15Nanocatalytic Medicine of Iron-Based Nanocatalysts显示文摘Iron can be found in all mammalian cells and is of critical significance to diverse cellular activities within human bodies.Widespread applications and the underlying chemical and biological fundamental explorations of iron-based nanomaterials,especially on the biomedical frontiers,have attracted growing interests most recently in the community.In this review,we focus on the catalytic performance of iron-based nanomaterials(termed as nanocatalysts,abbreviated as NCs)and their nanocatalytic biomedical applications in Fenton nanocatalytic therapeutics,nanocatalytic oxygenation-enabled therapeutics,and nanocatalytic peroxidation-enabled biodetections.Fabrication methodologies of the iron-based NCs are also summarized along with their applications.Representative therapeutic performance against malignant tumors,Alzheimer’s disease(and other pathological abnormalities),and nanocatalyticbased biodetection are discussed.Finally,future development prospects of the iron-based NCs are surveyed,aiming to deliver a brighter future for iron-based NCs in nanocatalytic medicine.Peilei Liu Minfeng Huo Jianlin Shi 2021CCS Chemistry2021,3,2:0
