| 1 | Chinese progress in geomorphometry显示文摘Geomorphometry,the science of digital terrain analysis(DTA),is an important focus of research in both geomorphology and geographical information science(GIS).Given that 70% of China is mountainous,geomorphological research is popular among Chinese scholars,and the development of GIS over the last 30 years has led to significant advances in geomorphometric research.In this paper,we review Chinese progress in geomorphometry based on the published literature.There are three major areas of progress:digital terrain modelling methods,DTA methods,and applications of digital terrain models(DTMs).First,traditional vector-and raster-based terrain modelling methods,including the assessment of uncertainty,have received widespread attention.New terrain modelling methods such as unified raster and vector,high-fidelity,and real-time dynamic geographical scene modelling have also attracted research attention and are now a major focus of digital terrain modelling research.Second,in addition to the popular DTA methods based on topographical derivatives,geomorphological features,and hydrological factors extracted from DTMs,DTA methods have been extended to include analyses of the structure of underlying strata,ocean surface features and even socioeconomic spatial structures.Third,DTMs have been applied to fields including global climate change,analysis of various typical regions,lunar surface and other related fields.Clearly,Chinese scholars have made significant progress in geomorphometry.Chinese scholars have had the greatest international impact in areas including high-fidelity digital terrain modelling and DTM-based regional geomorphological analysis,particularly in the Loess Plateau and the Tibetan Plateau regions. | LV Guonian XIONG Liyang CHEN Min TANG Guoan SHENG Yehua LIU Xuejun SONG Zhiyao LU Yuqi YU Zhaoyuan ZHANG Ka WANG Meizhen | 2017 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2017,27,11: | 14 |
| 2 | Energy harvesting textiles for a rainy day:woven piezoelectrics based on melt-spun PVDF microfibres with a conducting core显示文摘Recent advances in ubiquitous low-power electronics call for the development of light-weight and flexible energy sources.The textile format is highly attractive for unobtrusive harvesting of energy from e.g.,biomechanical movements.Here,we report the manufacture and characterisation of fully textile piezoelectric generators that can operate under wet conditions.We use a weaving loom to realise textile bands with yarns of melt-spun piezoelectric microfibres,that consist of a conducting core surrounded byβ-phase poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF),in the warp direction.The core-sheath constitution of the piezoelectric microfibres results in a—for electronic textiles—unique architecture.The inner electrode is fully shielded from the outer electrode(made up of conducting yarns that are integrated in the weft direction)which prevents shorting under wet conditions.As a result,and in contrast to other energy harvesting textiles,we are able to demonstrate piezoelectric fabrics that do not only continue to function when in contact with water,but show enhanced performance.The piezoelectric bands generate an output of several volts at strains below one percent.We show that integration into the shoulder strap of a laptop case permits the continuous generation of four microwatts of power during a brisk walk.This promising performance,combined with the fact that our solution uses scalable materials and well-established industrial manufacturing methods,opens up the possibility to develop wearable electronics that are powered by piezoelectric textiles. | Anja Lund Karin Rundqvist Erik Nilsson Liyang Yu Bengt Hagstrom Christian Muller | 2018 | npj Flexible Electronics2018,2,1: | 10 |
| 3 | Photo-production of dissolved inorganic carbon from dissolved organic matter in contrasting coastal waters in the southwestern Taiwan Strait, China显示文摘Photo-production of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) from chromophoric dissolved organic matter (CDOM) is an important transformation process in marine carbon cycle, but little is known about this process in Chinese coastal systems. This study investigated an estuarine water sample and a coastal seawater sample from the subtropical waters in southeast of China. Water samples were exposed to natural sunlight and the absorption and fluorescence of CDOM as well as the DIC concentration were measured in the summer of 2009. The estuarine water had higher CDOM level, molecular weight and proportion of humic-like fluorescent components than the seawater that exhibited abundant tryptophan-like fluorescent component. After a 3-day irradiation, the CDOM level decreased by 45% in the estuarine water and 20% in the seawater, accompanied with a decrease in the molecular weight and aromaticity of DOM which was inferred from an increase in the absorption spectral slope parameter. The photo-degradation rates of all the five fluorescent components were also notable, in particular two humic-like components (C4 and C5) were removed by 78% and 69% in the estuarine water and by 69% and 56% in the seawater. The estuarine water had a higher photo-production rate of DIC than the seawater (4.4 vs. 2.5 μmol/(L·day)), in part due to its higher CDOM abundance. | 5 | Progress of Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA)显示文摘Jinping Underground laboratory for Nuclear Astrophysics(JUNA) will take the advantage of the ultra-low background of CJPL lab and high current accelerator based on an ECR source and a highly sensitive detector to directly study for the first time a number of crucial reactions occurring at their relevant stellar energies during the evolution of hydrostatic stars. In its first phase, JUNA aims at the direct measurements of^(25)Mg(p,γ)^(26)Al,^(19)F(p,α)^(16)O,^(13)C(α,n)^(16)O and ^(12)C(α,γ)^(16)O reactions. The experimental setup,which includes an accelerator system with high stability and high intensity, a detector system, and a shielding material with low background, will be established during the above research. | 11 | High-fidelity and clean nanotransfer lithography using structure-embedded and electrostatic-adhesive carriers显示文摘Metallic nanostructures are becoming increasingly important for both fundamental research and practical devices.Many emerging applications employing metallic nanostructures often involve unconventional substrates that are flexible or nonplanar,making direct lithographic fabrication very difficult.An alternative approach is to transfer prefabricated structures from a conventional substrate;however,it is still challenging to maintain high fidelity and a high yield in the transfer process.In this paper,we propose a high-fidelity,clean nanotransfer lithography method that addresses the above challenges by employing a polyvinyl acetate(PVA)film as the transferring carrier and promoting electrostatic adhesion through triboelectric charging.The PVA film embeds the transferred metallic nanostructures and maintains their spacing with a remarkably low variation of<1%.When separating the PVA film from the donor substrate,electrostatic charges are generated due to triboelectric charging and facilitate adhesion to the receiver substrate,resulting in a high large-area transfer yield of up to 99.93%.We successfully transferred the metallic structures of a variety of materials(Au,Cu,Pd,etc.)with different geometries with a<50-nm spacing,high aspect ratio(>2),and complex 3D structures.Moreover,the thin and flexible carrier film enables transfer on highly curved surfaces,such as a single-mode optical fiber with a curvature radius of 62.5μm.With this strategy,we demonstrate the transfer of metallic nanostructures for a compact spectrometer with Cu nanogratings transferred on a convex lens and for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)characterization on graphene with reliable responsiveness. | Zhuofei Gan Jingxuan Cai Zhao Sun Liyang Chen Chuying Sun Junyi Yu Zeyu Liang Siyi Min Fei Han Yu Liu Xing Cheng Shuhui Yu Dehu Cui Wen-Di Li | 2023 | Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,1: | 1 |

| 13 | Analysis and comparison of failure causes of minimally invasive surgical closure of ventricular septal defects in children显示文摘Objectives The aims of the present study were to explore the causes of minimally invasive surgical ventricular septal defect(VSD)closure failure under transesophageal echocardiography guidance and thus to improve the success rate of surgical VSD closure.Methods From January 2015 to December 2019,522 children with VSD underwent minimally invasive surgical closure.Nineteen procedures(3.64%)were unsuccessful.The failure causes,VSD locations and surgical incision approaches were retrospectively analyzed.Results Among the 19 patients(3.64%)with unsuccessful outcomes,18 were switched to cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)surgery,and 1 was closed successfully using an occlusion device a year later.The causes of failure included occlusion device shedding or shifting(n=6),failure of the guidewire(or the sheath)to pass through a small defect(n=5),device-related valve regurgitation(n=4),significant residual shunt(n=2),ventricular fibrillation(n=1),and continuous sharp blood pressure decreases(n=1).Patients with high VSD had a slightly higher failure rate than those with perimembranous VSD(p=0.049),and its key reason is the high proportion of occlusion device shedding or shifting(p=0.005).No significant difference in the failure rate was found between patients with different surgical incision approaches.Conclusions Minimally invasive surgery has a high success rate for perimembranous VSDs.Occlusion device shedding or shifting is the most common cause of failure.The shedding or shifting risk of eccentric occlusion devices being used only for high VSDs is much greater than that of concentric occlusion devices being used for perimembranous VSDs,which increases the risk of conversion to CPB surgery for high VSDs. | Jin Yu Zhuo Shi Jingjing Qian Lianglong Ma Baofu Zhang Liyang Ying Qiang Shu | 2023 | World Journal of Pediatric Surgery2023,6,1: | 0 |
| 14 | Study on the Photosynthetic Characteristics of Six Varieties(Strains)in Chinese Chestnut显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the differences of photosynthetic physiological characteristics of different varieties(strains),which will provide a theoretical basis for high photosynthesis efficiency breeding and application in Chinese chestnut.[Methods]Six Chinese chestnut varieties of Castanea mollissima‘Yanbao’,C.mollissima‘Yanqiu’,C.mollissima‘Yanchang’,C.mollissima‘Yanjia’,C.mollissima‘Qianxi 37’,and C.mollissima‘Hybrid 22’were used as the materials.Using the portable photosynthesis system Li-6400,we measured the photosynthetic characteristics and diurnal variation of leaf samples of six different chestnut varieties or strains.We fitted the light response curves and photosynthetic parameters using the leaf floating model.Additionally,we determined the chlorophyll content in the leaves using a UV-visible spectrophotometer.[Results]Among the six chestnut varieties or strains,‘Yanqiu’exhibited a significantly higher photosynthetic light saturation point(P LSP)compared to other five varieties,and‘Hybrid 22’ranked second,indicating that these two varieties had the strongest adaptation to high light intensity.The photosynthetic light compensation point(P LCP)of‘Yanchang’was significantly higher than other five varieties,and'Qianxi 37'ranked second,indicating that these two varieties had the strongest adaptation to low light intensity.Additionally,they exhibited higher chlorophyll content and maintained good photosynthetic characteristics even in shaded environments with weak light stress.Varieties‘Yanbao’and‘Yanjia’showed higher P LSP and lower P LCP,indicating that these two varieties have a wider range of adaptation to light intensity.They were capable of efficiently utilizing light across a broader spectrum of intensities.‘Yanqiu’had the highest maximum net photosynthetic rate(P n,max)and the lowest dark respiration rate(R d),along with the highest chlorophyll content.It indicated that‘Yanqiu’has strong photosynthetic capacity and organic matter accumulation ability.It also had the highest P LSP,enabling it to fully utilize the high light environment of the Yanshan Mountains and possessed high light efficiency characteristics.The P n,max of‘Yanqiu’was significantly higher than other varieties.‘Hybrid 22’and‘Yanbao’also exhibited significantly higher P n,max compared with‘Yanjia’and‘Qianxi 37’.‘Yanchang’had the lowest P n,max.The order of P n,max among the six chestnut varieties or strains was as follows:‘Yanqiu’>‘Hybrid 22’>‘Yanbao’>‘Yanjia’>‘Qianxi 37’>‘Yanchang’.[Conclusions] | Lizhi FU Yong YANG Xiaoxiao KANG Meng WANG Jing LIU Xuan WANG Dongsheng WANG Liyang YU Hai’e ZHANG | 2024 | Agricultural Biotechnology2024,13,1: | 0 |

| 17 | Quantitative Analysis of Kruppel‑Like Factor 5‑Related Messenger RNA Transcripts in Ischemic Myocardium for Discrimination of Death Causes显示文摘Background:Accumulated studies have demonstrated that Kruppel‑like factor 5(KLF5),a transcription factor,plays an important role in regulating cell proliferation and tissue remodeling through the expression of its downstream genes.KLF5‑related factors are expected to be involved in the healing process after myocardial injury or myocardial ischemic changes,especially for the forensic diagnosis of myocardial ischemic physiopathology.Aim and Objectives:This study aimed to explore the discrimination ability and applicability of KLF5-related factors in SCD caused by MI compared with other causes of death to provide further insights into the forensic diagnosis of myocardial ischemic pathology.Materials and Methods:The relative quantification of F‑Box and WD Repeat Domain Containing 7(FBW7),KLF5,factor‑binding protein(FGFBP)1,and FGFBP2 messenger RNAs(mRNAs)in myocardial tissue samples was performed using real‑time fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction.KLF5 and FGFBP1/2 protein levels were examined using immunohistochemistry(IHC).The forensic autopsy cases(27 in total,autopsy within 72 h postmortem)included seven cases of acute myocardial infarction and 10 cases of acute myocardial ischemia.There were 10 cases in the control group,including four cases of traffic injury one case of injury by fall from height,one case of electric death,and four cases of blunt force injury.Results:Characteristic results were found in myocardial samples from three groups of deaths:KLF5 and FGFBP1 mRNA levels were significantly elevated in the infarction and ischemia groups,while FBW7 mRNA levels were significantly decreased.FBW7 is an important ubiquitin ligase that can mediate the degradation of KLF5 protein.In addition,FBW7 and FGFBP2 mRNA levels were decreased in the infarction group compared with the ischemia group.The IHC results were consistent with the observed mRNA expression patterns.Conclusions:Quantitative detection of FBW7,KLF5,FGFBP1,and FGFBP2 mRNA transcripts in myocardial tissues supports the pathophysiological study of myocardial ischemic diseases and provides molecular pathological evidence for forensic discrimination of death causes. | Xingyu Ma Yeming Li Ya Xi Liyang Su Yuxing Tong Chun Wang Tianshui Yu Dong Zhao | 2022 | Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine2022,8,4: | 0 |

| 20 | Spatial-temporal characteristics of epidemic spread in-out flow——Using SARS epidemic in Beijing as a case study显示文摘For better detecting the spatial-temporal change mode of individual susceptible-infected-symptomatic-treated-recovered epidemic progress and the characteristics of information/material flow in the epidemic spread network between regions,the epidemic spread mechanism of virus input and output was explored based on individuals and spatial regions.Three typical spatial information parameters including working unit/address,onset location and reporting unit were selected and SARS epidemic spread in-out flow in Beijing was defined based on the SARS epidemiological investigation data in China from 2002 to 2003 while its epidemiological characteristics were discussed.Furthermore,by the methods of spatial-temporal statistical analysis and network characteristic analysis,spatial-temporal high-risk hotspots and network structure characteristics of Beijing outer in-out flow were explored,and spatial autocorrelation/heterogeneity,spatial-temporal evolutive rules and structure characteristics of the spread network of Beijing inner in-out flow were comprehensively analyzed.The results show that(1)The outer input flow of SARS epidemic in Beijing concentrated on Shanxi and Guangdong provinces,but the outer output flow was disperse and mainly includes several north provinces such as Guangdong and Shandong.And the control measurement should focus on the early and interim progress of SARS breakout.(2)The inner output cases had significant positive autocorrelative characteristics in the whole studied region,and the high-risk population was young and middle-aged people with ages from 20 to 60 and occupations of medicine and civilian labourer.(3)The downtown districts were main high-risk hotspots of SARS epidemic in Beijing,the northwest suburban districts/counties were secondary high-risk hotspots,and northeast suburban areas were relatively safe.(4)The district/county nodes in inner spread network showed small-world characteristics and information/material flow had notable heterogeneity.The suburban Tongzhou and Changping districts were the underlying high-risk regions,and several suburban districts such as Shunyi and Huairou were the relatively low-risk safe regions as they carried out minority information/material flow.The exploration and analysis based on epidemic spread in-out flow help better detect and discover the potential spatial-temporal evolutive rules and characteristics of SARS epidemic,and provide a more effective theoretical basis for emergency/control measurements and decision-making. | HU BiSong GONG JianHua ZHOU JiePing SUN Jun YANG LiYang XIA Yu Abdoul Nasser IBRAHIM | 2013 | Science China Earth Sciences2013,56,8: | 0 |
