| 1 | Phylogenetic relationships of native and introduced Bemisia tabaci (Homoptera:Aleyrodidae) from China and India based on mtCOI DNA sequencing and host plant comparisons显示文摘Phylogenetic relationships for Bemisia tabaci were reconstructed by analysis of a ~780 bp fragment of the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase I (mtCOI) gene with an emphasis on geographic range and distribution among eight eudicot plant families that are common hosts of B. tabaci worldwide to elucidate key phylogeographic linkages between populations extant in China (n=31) and India (n=34). Bootstrap values for the Maximum Parsimony tree were highly robust for all major nodes involving the major Asian clade, subgroups, and sister groups within, at 92%—100%. Between-clade distances for the Southeast Asia and three other major clades, e.g. from sub-Sahara Africa, North Africa-Mediterranean, and the Americas, were approximately >16% divergent. Two major Asian subgroups (I, II) were resolved, which represented populations indigenous to the region, comprising two (I a, I b) and five (II a—e) sister groups, respectively, which diverged by 11%. Two distinct populations from sunflower in Hyderabad grouped separately within the two Asian subgroups. All other populations grouped uniquely within Asian subgroup II or I. The 'B' biotype was identified in 23 collections from China at 97.3%—99.5% nucleotide identity with 'B' biotype reference sequences; it was not identified in collections from India. The majority of haplotypes were associated with 3—4 plant families, with one exception that for sister group IId (sesame, India), it might be monophagous. Thus, B. tabaci from the southeastern and near eastern regions of the Asian continent comprise of a large number of ancestral, richly divergent, mostly polyphagous populations. This region is therefore hypothesized to constitute an important Old World center of diversification for the B. tabaci complex, together with sub-Saharan Africa. | Qiu Baoli Susan A. | 2 | Somatic embryogenesis in wild relatives of cotton (Gossypium Spp.)显示文摘Wild cotton species can contribute a valuable gene pool for agronomically desirable cultivated tetraploid cultivars. In order to exploit diploid cotton a regeneration system is required to achieve transformation based goals. The present studies aimed at optimizing the conditions for regeneration of local varieties as well as wild species of cotton. Different callus induction media were tested with varying concentrations of hormones in which sucrose was used as nutritional source. Different explants (hypo-cotyls, cotyledon, root) were used to check the regeneration of both local cotton plants and wild relatives using T & G medium, BAP medium, CIM medium, EMMS medium, and cell suspension medium. Different stages of embryogenicity such as early torpedo stage, late torpedo stage, heart stage, globular stage and cotyledonary stage were observed in wild relatives of cotton. | 4 | 纳米SiO_2负载Preyssler杂多酸催化剂对水杨酸与苄醇或脂肪醇酯化反应的催化性能(英文)显示文摘An efficient and environmentally benign procedure for the catalytic esterification of salicylic acid with aliphatic alcohols, CnH2n+1OH(n=1-5)and benzylic alcohols,RC6H4CH2OH(R=H,NO2,OCH3,Br,Cl,Me)was developed using nano-SiO2-supported Preyssler heteropolyacid both under thermal conditions and microwave irradiation.Silica nanostructures were obtained through a sol-gel method and were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and powder X-ray diffraction.The effects of various parameters such as solvent type,molar ratio of substrates,Preyssler heteropolyacid loading on silica,catalyst amount,temperature,and reaction time were studied and the optimum conditions were obtained.It has been found that the catalyst with 30 wt%loading is highly active and shows high yields in esterification reactions.The use of nano-SiO2-supported Preyssler heteropolyacid coupled with microwave irradiation allows a solvent-free,rapid(3 min),and high-yielding reaction.This catalyst can be easily recovered and reused for many times without a significant loss in its activity. | Fatemeh F.
