1Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example,negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently,the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses.Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves.We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions.The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface,and the results are consistent with the measured results.We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions,thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves.The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices.Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng 2016Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1:36
2Smart metasurface with self-adaptively reprogrammable functions显示文摘Intelligence at either the material or metamaterial level is a goal that researchers have been pursuing.From passive to active,metasurfaces have been developed to be programmable to dynamically and arbitrarily manipulate electromagnetic(EM)wavefields.However,the programmable metasurfaces require manual control to switch among different functionalities.Here,we put forth a smart metasurface that has self-adaptively reprogrammable functionalities without human participation.The smart metasurface is capable of sensing ambient environments by integrating an additional sensor(s)and can adaptively adjust its EM operational functionality through an unmanned sensing feedback system.As an illustrative example,we experimentally develop a motion-sensitive smart metasurface integrated with a three-axis gyroscope,which can adjust self-adaptively the EM radiation beams via different rotations of the metasurface.We develop an online feedback algorithm as the control software to make the smart metasurface achieve single-beam and multibeam steering and other dynamic reactions adaptively.The proposed metasurface is extendable to other physical sensors to detect the humidity,temperature,illuminating light,and so on.Our strategy will open up a new avenue for future unmanned devices that are consistent with the ambient environment.Qian Ma Guo Dong Bai Hong Bo Jing Cheng Yang Lianlin Li Tie Jun Cui 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:13
3Mechanical Harvesting Effects on Seed Yield Loss,Quality Traits and Profitability of Winter Oilseed Rape (Brassica napus L.)显示文摘China is one of the most important rapeseed producing countries in the world. Effective mechanical harvesting time for decreasing harvesting loss of winter oilseed rape has been becoming a critical factor. An elite cultivar Zhongshuang 11 (Brassica napus L.) was employed in two rounds of field experiments from 2009 to 2011. Seeds were sown with machine, three combine harvesting times namely combine harvesting A, B, and C (CHA, CHB, and CHC) were designed and manual harvesting (MH) as control was performed at maturity. The harvesting treatments were determined according to color of pod and seed in the field. Seed yield loss and quality in different treatments were evaluated. Results showed that both seed yields and harvesting losses in 2009-2010 were higher than that in 2010-2011, whereas seed oil contents in 2010-2011 were higher than that in 2009-2010. The highest yield appeared in CHB, which was significantly higher than that in MH. Furthermore, harvesting loss in CHB were 50% that in MH. Seed oil content and chlorophyll exhibited no obvious difference between CHB and MH. Economic profit analysis demonstrated that mechanical sowing/combine harvesting (MS/CH) showed an input/output ratio of 1:1.6, and it was 1:1.2 in mechanical sowing/manual harvesting (MS/MH). Labor-cost accounted for more than 70% of the total cost in MS/MH, which led to low profitability to a great extent. 4Measurement of residual stress in a multi-layer semiconductor heterostructure by micro-Raman spectroscopy显示文摘Si-based multilayer structures are widely used in current microelectronics. During their preparation, some inhomogeneous residual stress is induced, resulting in competition between interface mismatching and surface energy and even leading to structure failure. This work presents a methodological study on the measurement of residual stress in a multi-layer semiconductor heterostructure. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM), micro-Raman spectroscopy(MRS), and transmission electron microscopy(TEM) were applied to measure the geometric parameters of the multilayer structure. The relationship between the Raman spectrum and the stress/strain on the [100] and [110] crystal orientations was determined to enable surface and crosssection residual stress analyses, respectively. 5Hesperetin derivative-12 (HDND-12) regulates macrophage polarization by modulating JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway显示文摘Macrophages show significant heterogeneity in function and phenotype, which could shift into different populations of cells in response to exposure to various micro-environmental signals. These changes, also termed as macrophage polarization, of which play an important role in the pathogenesis of many diseases. Numerous studies have proved that Hesperidin(HDN), a traditional Chinese medicine, extracted from fruit peels of the genus citrus, play key roles in anti-inflammation, anti-tumor, anti-oxidant and so on. However, the role of HDN in macrophage polarization has never been reported. Additional, because of its poor water solubility and bioavailability. Our laboratory had synthesized many hesperidin derivatives. Among them, hesperidin derivatives-12(HDND-12) has better water solubility and bioavailability. So, we evaluated the role of HDND-12 in macrophage polarization in the present study. The results showed that the expression of Arginase-1(Arg-1), interleukin-10(IL-10), transforming growth factor β(TGF-β) were up-regulated by HDND-12, whereas the expression of inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase(iNOS) was down-regulated in LPS-and IFN-γ-treated(M1) RAW264.7 cells. Moreover, the expression of p-JAK2 and p-STAT3 were significantly decreased after stimulation with HDND-12 in M1-like macrophages. More importantly, when we taken AG490(inhibitor of JAK2/STAT3 signaling), the protein levels of iNOS were significantly reduced in AG490 stimulation group compare with control in LPS, IFN-γ and HDND-12 stimulation cells. 6Efficient revocation in ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption based cryptographic cloud storage显示文摘It is secure for customers to store and share their sensitive data in the cryptographic cloud storage.However,the revocation operation is a sure performance killer in the cryptographic access control system.To optimize the revocation procedure,we present a new efficient revocation scheme which is efficient,secure,and unassisted.In this scheme,the original data are first divided into a number of slices,and then published to the cloud storage.When a revocation occurs,the data owner needs only to retrieve one slice,and re-encrypt and re-publish it.Thus,the revocation process is accelerated by affecting only one slice instead of the whole data.We have applied the efficient revocation scheme to the ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CP-ABE) based cryptographic cloud storage.The security analysis shows that our scheme is computationally secure.The theoretically evaluated and experimentally measured performance results show that the efficient revocation scheme can reduce the data owner's workload if the revocation occurs frequently.Yong CHENG Zhi-ying WANG Jun MA Jiang-jiang WU Song-zhu MEI Jiang-chun REN 2013Journal of Zhejiang University-Science C(Computers and Electronics)2013,14,2:11
7High quality reference genome of drumstick tree(Moringa oleifera Lam.), a potential perennial crop显示文摘The drumstick tree(Moringa oleifera Lam.) is a perennial crop that has gained popularity in certain developing countries for its high-nutrition content and adaptability to arid and semi-arid environments. Here we report a high-quality draft genome sequence of M. oleifera. This assembly represents 91.78% of the estimated genome size and contains 19,465 protein-coding genes. Comparative genomic analysis between M. oleifera and related woody plant genomes helps clarify the general evolution of this species, while the identification of several species-specific gene families and positively selected genes in M. oleifera may help identify genes related to M. oleifera's high protein content, fast-growth, heat and stress tolerance. 10Prognostic values of the integrated model incorporating the volume of metastatic regional cervical lymph node and pretreatment serum Epstein-Barr virus DNA copy number in predicting distant metastasis in patients with N1 nasopharyngeal carcinoma显示文摘Background: According to the 7 th edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) staging system, over50% of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC) have N1 disease at initial diagnosis. However, patients with N1 NPC are relatively under-researched, and the metastasis risk of this group is not well-stratified. This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic values of gross tumor volume of metastatic regional lymph node(GTVnd) and pretreatment serum copy number of Epstein-Barr virus(EBV) DNA in predicting distant metastasis of patients with N1 NPC, and to develop an integrated prognostic model that incorporates GTVnd and EBV DNA copy number for this group of patients.Methods: The medical records of 787 newly diagnosed patients with nonmetastatic, histologically proven N1 NPC who were treated at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center between November 2009 and February 2012 were analyzed. Computed tomography-derived GTVnd was measured using the summation-of-area technique. Blood samples were collected before treatment to quantify plasma EBV DNA. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis was used to evaluate the cut-off point for GTVnd, and the area under the ROC curve was used to assess the predicted validity of GTVnd. The survival rates were assessed by Kaplan-Meier analysis, and the survival curves were compared using a log-rank test. Multivariate analysis was conducted using the Cox proportional hazard regression model.Results: The 5-year distant metastasis-free survival(DMFS) rates for patients with GTVnd > 18.9 vs.≤ 18.9 mL were82.2% vs. 93.2%(P < 0.001), and for patients with EBV DNA copy number > 4000 vs. < 4000 copies/mL were 83.5% vs.93.9%(P < 0.001). After adjusting for GTVnd, EBV DNA copy number, and T category in the Cox regression model, both GTVnd > 18.9 mL and EBV DNA copy number > 4000 copies/mL were significantly associated with poor prognosis(both P < 0.05). According to combination of GTVnd and EBV DNA copy number, all patients were divided into low-,moderate-, and high-risk groups, with the 5-year DMFS rates of 96.1,87.4, and 73.8%, respectively(P < 0.001). Multivariate analysis confirmed the prognostic value of this model for distant metastatic risk stratification(hazard ratio [HR],4.17; 95% confidence interval [CI] 2.34-7.59; P < 0.001).Conclusions: GTVnd and serum EBV DNA copy number are independent prognostic factors for predicting distant metastasis in NPC patients with N1 disease. 12Predictors of adherence to home-based cardiac rehabilitation program among coronary artery disease outpatients in China显示文摘Background Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) has proven beneficial for patients with coronary artery disease. However, adherence to CR programs is the key to the health improvement in those patients. Identifying predictors for adherence, which is very much unknown in China, would be valuable for effective rehabilitation. This study aims to determine the adherence to home-based CR programs in Chinese coronary artery disease patients and determine predictors of adherence. Methods The current study included 1033 outpatients with coronary heart disease in the First Medical Center of Chinese PLA General Hospital in Beijing from July 2015 to June 2017. Participants were given an exercise prescription and took part in home-based exercise training lasting for 3–24 months. A questionnaire was used to evaluate the completion of the CR program, understanding of the program, motivation of the patients, and family/peer support. Results Two thirds of the patients adhered well to the home-based CR program. Elder patients (≥ 65-year-old) adhere to the program better, while men adhered better than women. Patients who used to exercise (B = 6.756, P < 0.001), understood the program (B = 0.078, P = 0.002), with stronger motivation to participate (B = 0.376, P < 0.001), and received better family support (B = 0.487, P < 0.001) also adhere better to the program. Conclusions Understanding the program, self-motivation of patients, and family support help to keep patients engaged in a home-based CR program. 15Research on KOH/La-Ba-Al_2O_3 catalysts for biodiesel production via transesterification from microalgae oil显示文摘Alumina supports modified by lanthanum(La)and barium(Ba)were prepared by peptization.Catalysts with different KOH contents supported on modified alumina were prepared by impregnation method.Various techniques,including N2 adsorption-desorption(Brunauer-Emmet-Teller method,BET),X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy(FT-IR). Catalytic activity for microalgae oil conversion to methyl ester via transesterification was evaluated and analyzed by GC-MS and GC.BET results showed that the support possessed high specific surface area,suitable pore volume and pore size distribution.Activity results indicated that the catalyst with 25 wt%KOH showed the best activity for microalgae oil conversion.XRD and SEM results revealed that Al-O-K compound was the active phase for microalgae oil conversion.The agglomeration and changing of pore structure should be the main reasons for the catalyst deactivation when KOH content was higher than 30 wt%.Xiaoyu Zhang Qing Ma Bibo Cheng Jun Wang Jinshan Li Fude Nie 2012Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2012,21,6:7

17Accumulation of cadmium and copper by female Oxya chinensis (Orthopera: Acridoidea) in soil-plant-insect system显示文摘One purpose of this research is to present accumulation of cadmium(Cd) and copper(Cu) by female Oxya chinensis(Orthopera: Acridoidea) in a simulated s oil-plant-insect ecosystem treated with Cd. Fourth-instar nymphs of O. chinensis had been fed on wheat(Triticum aestivum) seedlings contaminated with Cd and Cu for one month. In the ecosystem, the Cd concentration in wheat seedlings rose gr eatly with the increasing of Cd in the soil, but the Cu concentration in wheat s eedlings was not found elevated. There was a highly significant difference(P<0. 05) in Cd concentrations of wheat seedlings and not any significant difference(P >0.05) in Cu concentrations of wheat seedlings. The Cd and Cu concentration in different body part-head, thorax, abdomen, and hind femur, varied under differen t Cd concentrations in soil. There were significant differences(P<0.05) in the four parts of Cd and Cu accumulations with all treatments. The order of Cd accum ulation was thorax>abdomen>head>hind femur and the Cu was abdomen>thorax>he ad>hind femur. 19Multicenter Clinical Study for Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of Transdermal Fentanyl Matrix Patch in Treatment of Moderate to Severe Cancer Pain in 474 Chinese Cancer Patients显示文摘Objective: Although a new matrix formulation fentanyl has been used throughout the world for cancer pain management, few data about its efficacy and clinical outcomes associated with its use in Chinese patients have been obtained. This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of the new system in Chinese patients with moderate to severe cancer pain. Methods: A total of 474 patients with moderate to severe cancer pain were enrolled in this study and were treated with the new transdermal fentanyl matrix patch (TDF) up to 2 weeks. All the patients were asked to record pain intensity, side effects, quality of life (QOL), adherence and global satisfaction. The initial dose of fentanyl was 25 ?g/h titrated with opioid or according to National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines. Transdermal fentanyl was changed every three days. Results: After 2 weeks. The mean pain intensity of the 459 evaluated patients decreased significantly from 5.63?1.26 to 2.03?1.46 (P<0.0001). The total remission rate was 91.29%, of which moderate remission rate 53.16%, obvious remission rate 25.49% and complete remission rate 12.64%. The rate of adverse events was 33.75%, 18.78% of which were moderate and 3.80% were severe. The most frequent adverse events were constipation and nausea. No fatal events were observed. The quality of life was remarkably improved after the treatment (P<0.0001).
