| 1 | Management of oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer patients:Current controversies and future directions显示文摘Oligometastatic non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)describes an intermediate stage of NSCLC between localized and widely-disseminated disease.This stage of NSCLC is characterized by a limited number of metastases and a more indolent tumor biology.Currently,the management of oligometastatic NSCLC involves radical treatment(radiotherapy or surgery)that targets the metastatic lesions and the primary tumor to achieve disease control.This approach offers the potential to achieve prolonged survival in patients who,in the past,would have only received palliative measures.The optimal therapeutic strategies for the different scenarios of oligometastatic disease(intracranial vs extracranial disease,synchronous vs metachronous)remain undefined.Given the lack of head-to-head studies comparing radiotherapy to surgery in these patients,the decision to apply surgery or radiotherapy(with or without systemic treatment)must be based on prognostic factors that allow us to classify patients.This classification will allow us to select the most appropriate therapeutic strategy on an individualized basis.In the future,the molecular or microRNA profiles will likely improve the treatment selection process.The objective of the present article is to review the most relevant scientific evidence on the management of patients with oligometastatic NSCLC,focusing on the role of radiotherapy and surgery.We also discuss areas of controversy and future directions. | Felipe Counago Javier Luna Luis Leonardo Guerrero Blanca Vaquero María Cecilia Guillén-Sacoto Teresa González-Merino Begona Taboada Verónica Díaz Belén Rubio-Viqueira Ana Aurora Díaz-Gavela Francisco JoséMarcos Elia del Cerro | 2019 | World Journal of Clinical Oncology2019,10,10: | 5 |

| 3 | Betulinic acid hydroxamate prevents colonic inflammation and fibrosis in murine models of inflammatory bowel disease显示文摘Intestinal fibrosis is a common complication of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and is defined as an excessive accumulation of scar tissue in the intestinal wall. Intestinal fibrosis occurs in both forms of IBD: ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. Small-molecule inhibitors targeting hypoxia-inducing factor (HIF) prolyl-hydroxylases are promising for the development of novel antifibrotic therapies in IBD. Herein, we evaluated the therapeutic efficacy of hydroxamate of betulinic acid (BHA), a hypoxia mimetic derivative of betulinic acid, against IBD in vitro and in vivo. We showed that BAH (5–20 μM) dose-dependently enhanced collagen gel contraction and activated the HIF pathway in NIH-3T3 fibroblasts;BAH treatment also prevented the loss of trans-epithelial electrical resistance induced by proinflammatory cytokines in Caco-2 cells. In two different murine models (TNBS- and DSS-induced IBD) that cause colon fibrosis, oral administration of BAH (20, 50 mg/kg·d, for 17 days) prevented colon inflammation and fibrosis, as detected using immunohistochemistry and qPCR assays. BAH-treated animals showed a significant reduction of fibrotic markers (Tnc, Col1a2, Col3a1, Timp-1, α-SMA) and inflammatory markers (F4/80+, CD3+, Il-1β, Ccl3) in colon tissue, as well as an improvement in epithelial barrier integrity and wound healing. BHA displayed promising oral bioavailability, no significant activity against a panel of 68 potential pharmacological targets and was devoid of genotoxicity and cardiotoxicity. | 10 | Photodegradation and Removal of Diclofenac by the Green Alga Nannochloropsis oculata显示文摘The emerging contaminants(ECs)are organic compounds including pharmaceuticals.These products are consumed in large quantities,favoring their continuous entrance to the environment and affecting the health of living beings.Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic properties of prolonged release.It is the commonest postoperative analgesic,and it is highly consumed without prescription.In recent years,the capability of microalgae to remove pharmaceuticals in water has been tested as a promising tool.In this work,the removal efficiency of diclofenac(16µg/mL)by the microalga Nannochloropsis oculata CCAP 186/7 was evaluated.The major nutrient concentrations in Bold’s Basal Medium were modified(nitrogen and carbon:50 and 100%of their original concentration)to know their effect in the removal of diclofenac.Drug degradation by light was also evaluated.The maximum removal capacity of diclofenac in the medium was 68.8%.The percentage of diclofenac adsorbed on the cell wall was between 6 and 12.7%.Around 23.6%of diclofenac was degraded by light after 18 days.N.oculata did not show growth inhibition due to the presence of diclofenac.The results obtained point to the promissory application of N.oculata as a bioremediation system for diclofenac removal. | Danaé Samara Sánchez-Sandoval Omar González-Ortega Mara Fernanda Navarro-Martínez Juan Marcos Castro-Tapia Ramón Fernando García de la Cruz Ruth Elena Soria-Guerra | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,5: | 1 |
