2Design and engineering implementation of non-supplementary fired compressed air energy storage system: TICC-500显示文摘The integration and accommodation of the wind and solar energy pose great challenges on today’s power system operation due to the intermittent nature and volatility of the wind and solar resources.High efficient large-scale electrical energy storage is one of the most effective and economical solutions to those problems.After the comprehensive review of the existing storage technologies,this paper proposes an overall design scheme for the Non-supplementary Fired Compressed Air Energy Storage(NFCAES)system,including system design,modeling and efficiency assessment,as well as protection and control.Especially,the design principles of the multistage regenerative,i.e.heat recovery system which is used to fully recycle and utilize the waste heat from compression are provided,so as the overall system efficiency evaluation method.This paper theoretically ascertains the storage decoupling rules in the potential and internal energy of molecular compressed air and reveals the conversion mechanism of gas,heat,power,electricity and other forms of energy.On this basis,a 500-k W physical simulation system of CAES system(TICC-500,Tsinghua-IPCCAS-CEPRI-CAES)is built,which passed a system-wide 420-k W load power generation test with less pollution and zero carbon emissions.Besides,the multi-form energy conversion of multi-stage regenerative CAES and storage efficiency is verified,especially its incomparable superiority in solving the uncertainty problem in wind and solar power generation.Finally,the propaganda and application scenario of the CAES system in China is introduced.MEI Sheng Wei WANG Jun Jie TIAN Fang CHEN Lai Jun XUE Xiao Dai LU Qiang ZHOU Yuan ZHOU Xiao Xin 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,4:37
3邢台地震区地壳速度结构特征与强震孕育发生的关系显示文摘运用三维有限单元法,探索地壳结构的非均匀性对地壳应力场的影响.假定分层地壳结构中镶嵌高速块体,低速块体,高、低速块体3种情况,分别计算壳内平均应力与水平剪应力的变化图像.结果表明:高速块体单独存在可导致高应力在高速体内的局部集中,并在其边缘和四个角区形成应力的高度集中,有利于强震的孕育和发生;低速体单独存在时,由于低速体本身不能积累应力,而其上部的应力集中程度不大,难以形成强震;高、低速体的同时存在则有利于高应力在高速体内的高度集中和在高速体外的地壳上、下部的相对集中,形成对大地震孕育、发生更加有利的条件.本文结果与邢台地震序列的空间分布图像吻合甚好.YIN JING-YUAN MEI SHI-RONG XUE YAN(Center for Analysis and Prediction, CSB. 5CLINICAL APPLICATION OF BODY DIFFUSION WEIGHTED MR IMAGING IN THE DIAGNOSIS AND PREOPERATIVE N STAGING OF CERVICAL CANCER显示文摘Objective To evaluate the clinical impact of body diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) on the diagnosis and preoperative N staging of cervical cancer. Methods Twenty-four patients (mean age 37.9 years old) with proved cervical cancer by cervical biopsy and 24 female patients with other suspected pelvic abnormalities received preoperative body DWI scan. Results of body DWI were compared with pathological findings. The apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of normal cervix and different pathological types of cervical cancer were compared. ADC value of normal or inflammatory lymph nodes was also compared with that of metastatic ones. Student's t test was used for statistical analysis. Results There were 5 adenocarcinomas and 19 epitheliomas showed with biopsy results, and DWI showed 21 cervical lesions out of them (87.5%). ADC values of the normal cervix (n = 24), epithelioma (n = 19), and adenocar- cinoma (n = 5) were (1.73 ± 0.31) ×10-3, (0.88 ± 0.22) ×10-3, and (1.08 ± 0.12) ×10-3 mm2/s, respectively. Statistical analysis showed significant difference in ADC value between normal cervical tissue and either tumor tissues (both P < 0.01). In patients had lymphadenectomy (n = 24), totally 67 lymph nodes including 16 metastatic lymph nodes were pathologically analyzed, and DWI showed 66 (98.5%) out of them. ADC values of normal/inflammatory and metastatic lymph nodes were (1.07 ± 0.16) ×10-3 and (0.77 ± 0.13) ×10-3 mm2/s (P < 0.01). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of ADC value of metastatic lymph node showed that area under curve was 0.961. Conclusions ADC value in cervical carcinoma is lower than that in normal cervix, and ADC may have predictive value in subtype discrimination. ADC value may improve the preoperative characterization of lymph node metastasis. 7Clinical value of preoperative methylated septin 9 in Chinese colorectal cancer patients显示文摘BACKGROUND The methylated septin 9(mSEPT9) assay was the first blood-based test approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration as a colorectal screening test.However, the diagnostic and prognostic role of preoperative mSEPT9 for colorectal cancer(CRC) in Chinese patients is still unknown.AIM To improve the understanding of diagnostic and prognostic factors, serum m SEPT9 was detected in Chinese CRC patients.METHODS A retrospective analysis of 354 cases, of which 300 had CRC and 54 were normal,was performed in China. Patients' characteristics, treatments, and laboratory data, including age, the date of surgery, Union for International Cancer Control(UICC) stages, distant metastasis(M), and so on, were collected. Methylation levels of SEPT9 were quantified by quantitative, methylation-specific polymerase chain reaction before surgery. In addition, the effects of mSEPT9 on the occurrence and prognosis of 330 CRC cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA) database were evaluated using bioinformatics analyses. Potential prognostic factors for overall survival(OS) and progression-free survival(PFS)were evaluated by Kaplan-Meier univariate analysis.RESULTSIn Chinese CRC patients, positive mSEPT9 was strongly associated with advanced UICC stages, deeper invasion by the primary tumor, and more distant metastasis. Methylation levels of SEPT9 were stage-dependent and showed a stepwise increase in UICC stages(I–IV), primary tumor categories(T1–T4),regional node categories(N0–N2), and distant metastasis categories(M0–M1).The patients with positive mSEPT9 showed a tendency toward lower PFS. After analyzing TCGA clinical data, the high mSEPT9 group was found to be obviously correlated only with more distant metastasis. The patients with high mSEPT9 levels showed a tendency toward lower OS. Besides, nine meaningful mSEPT9 sites were found to provide guidance for the follow-up studies.CONCLUSION MSEPT9 analysis may add valuable information to current tumor staging. 9Danggui Buxue decoction ameliorates lipid metabolic defects involved in the initiation of diabetic atherosclerosis;identification of active compounds显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the constituent compounds of Danggui buxue decoction(DBD) involved and the potential mechanisms mediating its effects, with specific reference to lipids playing a role in the initiation of diabetic atherosclerosis.METHODS: Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was used to identify and quantify the absorbed bioactive compounds(ABCs) present in DBD. Goto-Kakizaki(GK) rats were randomly allocated to a diabetes atherosclerosis(DA) group, a DBD group, and an ABC group(10 per group), which were all high-fat diet-fed. The treated rats were administered DBD(4 g/kg) or ABCs(in amounts equal to those present in DBD) once daily for 28 d, and a control group of Wistar rats were administered vehicle. Body mass gain, fasting blood glucose, and homeostasis assessment of insulin resistance(HOMAIR) were measured. Serum triglyceride(TG), cholesterol(CHOL), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDLC) and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) concentrations were determined. Hematoxylin and eosin staining and microscopy were used to characterize the abdominal aorta and the expression of lipogenic genes was quantified in this vessel.RESULTS: Seven ABCs were identified in rat serum:ferulic acid, formononetin, calycosin, astragaloside,caffeic acid, ligustilide, and butyphthalide. DBD significantly reduced HOMA-IR, the serum concentrations of TG, CHOL, and LDL-C, and the expression of the lipogenic genes monocyte chemotactic protein1, Fas, intercellular adhesion molecule 1, and Cd36 in aorta;and significantly increased the mRNA expression of Scd1 in aorta.CONCLUSION: DBD affects lipid metabolism in the early stage of atherosclerosis in diabetic GK rats,with the mechanism likely involving the regulation of lipid metabolic genes in vessels. 10Passive-source ocean bottom seismograph(OBS) array experiment in South China Sea and data quality analyses显示文摘Long-term passive source ocean bottom seismograph(OBS) observatory is challenging due to various technical difficulties. In order to gain experience in this field, and to reveal the lithospheric structure beneath the extinct ridge in the central South China Sea(SCS), we carried out a passive source OBS array experiment, which includes 18 OBSs, in the deep portion of SCS. Here we present the instrumentation, the OBS deployment and recovery of this experiment, and more importantly, the data quality evaluated by a number of approaches. Through processing and inspecting waveforms from global, regional and local earthquakes, we find that most of recovered OBSs have good data quality with discernible main phases. The ambient noise analyses of OBS recordings show that their noise is higher than the global average, and the horizontal component is noisier than the vertical, indicating current impacts on horizontal components are more severe. In the period range of 5–10 s, there is a noise notch for the SCS OBSs, and noise levels of horizontal components are comparable to the vertical. This feature, which is not seen at OBS stations in open ocean, suggests the distant sources for double frequency microseism in this marginal sea are not significant. In addition, we successfully determined the orientations for 7 OBSs by investigating their Rayleigh wave polarizations; and we demonstrated the dispersion feature of Rayleigh waves through the frequency-time analysis. 11Isolation and Chemotaxonomic Significance of Chemical Constituents from Rubus parvifolius显示文摘Objective To study the chemical constituents from the roots of Rubus parvifolius. Methods The chemical constituents were extracted and purified by silica gel column chromatography. NMR spectra were used for structural identification. Results Phytochemical study on the roots of R. parvifolius led to the isolation of one ceramide(1), two anthraquinones(2 and 3), four triterpenoids(4-7), two flavonoids(8 and 9), one fatty acid ester(10), and two sterols(11 and 12). Conclusion Compound 1 is isolated from the plants of family Rosaceae for the first time, and compounds 2-5 are isolated from genus Rubus for the first time. Though R. parvifolius shares the same major chemical types(triterpenoid, flavonoid, and anthraquinone) with those of R. alceaefolius, a substituent of R. parvifolius, their individual constituents are different. In addition, R. parvifolius contains ceramide(1) with high concentration, while caffeoylquinic acid reported in R. alceaefolius has not been found in R. parvifolius. Firstly,a generalized SOC theory from the viewpoint of cybernetics is introduced. Then the evolution model of power system and its relative mathematical description,which serves as a concrete example of the proposed generalized SOC,are given. Secondly,five blackout models capturing various critical properties of power systems in different time-scales are listed. 16Correlation between platelet gelsolin levels and different types of coronary heart disease显示文摘Gelsolin is an important cytoskeletal protein of platelets and studies have shown a close relationship between gelsolin and cardiovascular disease.However,the role of gelsolin in the development of coronary heart disease(CHD) is unclear.In this study,we record the distribution of gelsolin in human platelets and plasma and its association with different types of CHD.This study included 114 cases,with 33 stable angina pectoris(SAP) cases,81 acute coronary syndrome(ACS) cases—composed of 39 unstable angina pectoris(UAP) and 42 acute myocardial infarction(AMI) cases,and 31 healthy control participants.Gelsolin concentration in platelet rich plasma(PRP) and platelet poor plasma(PPP),actin filament(F-actin) and Gc-globulin of PPP were determined by enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay(ELISA).The fluorescence intensity of CD62p and cytoplasmic calcium([Ca2+] i) in human platelets measured by flow cytometry.We also used turbidimetry to detect the platelet aggregation rate(PAR).We analyzed the correlation between platelet gelsolin concentration and CD62p or plasma F-actin levels among each different patient group.Compared with the control group,the gelsolin level in PRP of UAP and AMI groups increased significantly(P<0.01),while the gelsolin level in PPP of all the three patient groups decreased markedly(P<0.01),and the CD62p,PAR,[Ca2+] i of platelets,F-actin and Gc-globulin of the UAP and AMI groups increased significantly(P<0.01).Compared with the SAP group,the gelsolin level in PRP,the PAR,[Ca2+] i of platelets and CD62p of other two groups increased significantly(P<0.01),F-actin of the AMI group increased markedly(P<0.01).Platelet cytoskeleton protein dynamics vary among the different types of CHD.Platelet gelsolin levels are markedly increased and accompanied by increased platelet activity,F-actin and [Ca2+] i of ACS patients,while gelsolin levels in PPP are markedly lower.Abnormally increased platelet gelsolin levels show high positive correlation with the level of platelet activity.Therefore,platelet gelsolin might be a novel molecular marker and/or a new potential therapeutic target of anti-platelet therapy of ACS.LIU Yue YIN HuiJun JIANG YueRong XUE Mei CHEN KeJi 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,6:8

19Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 20Seed bank and regeneration dynamics of Emmenopterys henryi population on the western side of Wuyi Mountain,South China显示文摘Emmenopterys henryi Oliv.(Rubiaceae) is an endangered tree species that is native to China.The wild populations of E.henryi have declined rapidly because of its poor natural regeneration,but the actual regeneration processes are not yet understood.In field tracking surveys and experiments in the Wuyishan Nature Reserve in Southeast China to determine the most important stage that affects the regeneration process,seed bank characteristics,seed germination,and seedling growth dynamics were studied in the typical habitats of E.henryi,Phyllostachys pubescens and broad-leaved forests.Results showed that in both P.pubescens and broad-leaved forests,more than 70% of the E.henryi seeds were distributed in moss and litter layers,and few were found in the soil beneath them.However,seed germination in the soil layer was significantly higher than in the moss and litter layers.Seed density,overall seed quality,and germination rate in the broad-leaved forest were significantly higher than in P.pubescens forest.Seed germination was highest in the microsites around the edge of the crown projection area of E.henryi mother trees.The order of survival rate of the seedlings on different ground surfaces was soil> moss>litter.In both habitats,the average seed density was 24.9 seeds m^(-2),and the total germination rate was less than 3.5%.However,seedlings developed from only 1% of the germinated seeds,indicating that the seed germination is the most important stage in the natural regeneration of E.henryi.Lianjin Guo Pingping Xue Mei Li Xinghua Shao 2017Journal of Forestry Research2017,28,5:7
