1Establishment of a mouse model of cancer cachexia with spleen deficiency syndrome and the effects of atractylenolide I显示文摘Cancer cachexia is a multifactorial metabolic syndrome that affects~50%–80%of cancer patients,and no effective therapy for cancer cachexia is presently available.In traditional Chinese medicine,a large portion of patients with cancer cachexia was diagnosed as spleen deficiency syndrome and treated with tonifying TCMs that produce clinic benefits.In this study we established a new animal model of spleen deficiency and cancer cachexia in mice and evaluated the therapeutic effects of atractylenolide I,an active component of tonifying TCM BaiZhu,in the mouse model.Cancer cachexia was induced in male BALB/c mice by inoculation of mouse C26 colon adenocarcinoma cells,whereas spleen deficiency syndrome was induced by treating the mice with spleen deficiency-inducing factors,including limited feeding,fatigue,and purging.The mouse model was characterized by both cachexia and spleen deficiency characteristics,including significant body weight loss,cancer growth,muscle atrophy,fat lipolysis,spleen,and thymus atrophy as compared with healthy control mice,cancer cachexia mice,and spleen deficiency mice.Oral administration of atractylenolide I(20 mg·kg?1per day,for 30 days)significantly ameliorated the reduction in body weight and atrophy of muscle,fat,spleen,and thymus in mice with spleen deficiency and cachexia.The established model of spleen deficiency and cancer cachexia might be useful in the future for screening possible anticachexia TCMs and clarifying their mechanisms.Wan-li Zhang Na Li Qiang Shen Men Fan Xiao-dong Guo Xiong-wen Zhang Zhou Zhang Xuan Liu 2020Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,2:6
2Structure-dependent electromagnetic wave absorbing properties of bowl-like and honeycomb TiO_(2)/CNT composites显示文摘Materials that can efficiently absorb electromagnetic waves(EMWs)are required to deal with electromagnetic pollution.Structure design appears to be an efficient way to improve the EMW-absorption performance of such materials,particularly when adjustment of the constitution or mixing ratio is limited.In this study,bowl-like and honeycomb titanium dioxide/carbon nanotube(TiO_(2)/CNT)composites with different CNT contents were fabricated using the methods of hierarchical and mixing vacuum-assisted filtration,respectively.Compared to the honeycomb structure,the bowl-like structure simultaneously facilitated greater interfacial polarization and conduction loss in favor of dielectric polarization,and augmented multiple reflections.The high porosity of the honeycomb structure was conducive to optimizing the impedance matching characteristics.The bowl-like TiO_(2)/CNT composite exhibited a minimum reflection loss(RL_(min))of-38.6 dB(1.5 mm)with a wide effective absorption band(EAB;<-10 dB)of4.2 GHz,while the honeycomb TiO_(2)/CNT composite showed an RLminof-34.8 dB(2.1 mm)with an EAB of 4.3 GHz.The required mixing ratio in the matrix was only 15 wt%,outperforming that of the most closely related composites.Thus,both the bowl-like and honeycomb TiO_(2)/CNT composites are ideal candidates for light-weight and highly efficient EMW-absorbing materials.Hua Jian Qinrui Du Qiaoqiao Men Li Guan Ruosong Li Bingbing Fan Xin Zhang Xiaoqin Guo Biao Zhao Rui Zhang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,14:2
3Effect of acupoint application combined with microwave treatment on the intestine barrier functional disturbance of moderately severe acute pancreatitis显示文摘目的:探讨和分析穴位贴敷联合微波治疗对中度重症急性胰腺炎患者肠屏障功能障碍的改善效果。方法:肝胆胰外科被确诊为中度重症急性胰腺炎且符合纳入标准的患者为研究对象。根据研究对象入院的先后顺序,将其分为A组(穴位贴敷联合微波治疗组)、B组(穴位贴敷组)、C组(常规组),每组患者30例。A组在常规护理基础上穴位贴敷与微波治疗,B组常规护理基础上穴位贴敷,C组为常规组。分别在干预后第3天、第7天、第10天观察患者肠道功能评分、C反应蛋白的变化,干预10天后观察患者总体治疗有效率。结果:干预后三组患者进行比较,患者的肠道功能评分、C反应蛋白的变化,A组患者较B与C两组患者差异明显,具有统计学意义(P<0.05),B与C两组患者比较具有统计学差异(P<0.05);A组与C组患者治疗有效率比较差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),B与C两组患者治疗有效率比较具有统计学差异(P<0.05)量。结论:穴位贴敷联合微波治疗一定程度上可促进患者肠屏障功能障碍的快速恢复,减轻患者痛苦。Miao Zhang Jun-Chen Fan Hui-Min Zhang Qian-Qian Guo Peng-Yang Li Hua-Lin Men Yu-Ling Wang 2019TMR Integrative Nursing2019,3,3:2

6Microstructure and optical properties of Ag_5In_5Te_(47)Sb_( 33) phase change thin films with high reflection in thermal annealing process显示文摘The microstructure and optical properties of Ag-5In-5Te 47Sb 33 phase change films with high reflection in the thermal annealing process were systematically reported. The as_deposited film is amorphous and its crystalline temperature is 160℃. The annealed films are crystalline. The crystalline phases are AgInTe-2, AgSbTe-2 and Sb when annealed at low temperature. When annealed at 220℃, the AgInTe-2 phase disappears and the amount of AgSbTe-2 is the largest. The research of electronic transmission microscopy shows that the morphology of AgSbTe 2 is sphere and that of Sb is bludgeon. 8The SACT Template:A Human Brain Diffusion Tensor Template for School-age Children显示文摘School-age children are in a specific development stage corresponding to juvenility,when the white matter of the brain experiences ongoing maturation.Dffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging(DWI),especially diffusion tensor imaging(DTI),is extensively used to characterize the maturation by assessing white matter properties in vivo.In the analysis of DWI data,spatial normalization is crucial for conducting inter-subject analyses or linking the individual space with the reference space.Using tensor-based registration with an appropriate diffusion tensor template presents high accuracy regarding spatial normalization.However,there is a lack of a standardized diffusion tensor template dedicated to school-age children with ongoing brain development.Here,we established the school-age children diffusion tensor(SACT)template by optimizing tensor reorientation on high-quality DTI data from a large sample of cognitively normal participants aged 6-12 years.With an age-balanced design,the SACT template represented the entire age range well by showing high similarity to the age-specific templates.Compared with the tensor template of adults,the SACT template revealed significantly higher spatial normalization accuracy and inter-subject coherence upon evaluation of subjects in two different datasets of schoolage children.A practical application regarding the age associations with the normalized DTI-derived data was conducted to further compare the SACT template and the adult template.Although similar spatial patterns were found,the SACT template showed significant effects on the distributions of the statistical results,which may be related to the performance of spatial normalization.Looking forward,the SACT template could contribute to future studies of white matter development in both healthy and clinical populations.The SACT template is publicly available now(tp://igshare com/aricles/dataseu'SACT_.template/14071283).Congying Chu Haoran Guan Sangma Xie Yanpei Wang Jie Luo Gai Zhao Zhiying Pan Mingming Hu Weiwei Men Shuping Tan Jia-Hong Gao Shaozheng Qin Yong He Lingzhong Fan Qi Dong Sha Tao 2022Neuroscience Bulletin2022,38,6:1

11The influence of Si substitution on soft magnetic properties and crystallization behavior in Fe_(83)B_(10)C_(6-x)Si_xCu_1 alloy system显示文摘In this study,the soft magnetic properties and crystallization behavior of Fe83B10C6-xSixCu1(x=0-4) nanocrystalline alloys prepared by annealing the melt-spun amorphous ribbons have been investigated.It is found that in the Fe83B10C6-xSixCu1 alloy system,the coercivity(Hc) decreases slightly with increasing Si addition and exhibits a minimum value with composition of x = 2,while the effective permeability(μe) shows an opposite variation trend.The saturation magnetic flux density(Bs) shows a slightly decreasing trend owing to the decreasing volume fraction of nanocrystalline phase.The Fe83B10C4Si2Cu1 nanocrystalline alloy exhibits excellent soft magnetic properties with a high B s of 1.78 T,high e of 13 600 and low Hc of 4A/m.FAN XingDu MEN He MA AiBin SHEN BaoLong 2012Science China(Technological Sciences)2012,55,9:1

13Mannogalactoglucan from mushrooms protects pancreatic islets via restoring UPR and promotes insulin secretion in TIDM mice显示文摘Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) lacks insulin secretion due to autoimmune deficiency of pancreaticβ-cells.Protecting pancreatic islets and enhancing insulin secretion has been therapeutic approaches.Mannogalactoglucan is the main type of polysaccharide from natural mushroom,which has potential medicinal prospects.Nevertheless,the antidiabetic property of mannogalactoglucan in T1DM has not been fully elucidated.In this study,we obtained the neutral fraction of alkali-soluble Armillaria mellea polysaccharide(AAMP-N) with the structure of mannogalactoglucan from the fruiting body of A.mellea and investigated the potential therapeutic value of AAMP-N in T1DM.We demonstrated that AAMP-N lowered blood glucose and improved diabetes symptoms in T1DM mice.AAMP-N activated unfolded protein response(UPR) signaling pathway to maintain ER protein folding homeostasis and promote insulin secretion in vivo.Besides that,AAMP-N promoted insulin synthesis via upregulating the expression of transcription factors,increased Ca^(2+) signals to stimulate intracellular insulin secretory vesicle transport via activating calcium/calmodulin-dependent kinase Ⅱ(CamkⅡ) and cAMP/PKA signals,and enhanced insulin secretory vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane via vesicle-associated membrane protein 2(VAMP2).Collectively,these studies demonstrated that the therapeutic potential of AAMP-N on pancreatic islets function,indicating that mannogalactoglucan could be natural nutraceutical used for the treatment of T1DM.Ting Liu Si Chen Yunhe Qu Lujuan Zheng Xiaoxuan Yang Shuhan Men Yuanning Wang Hanrui Ma Yifa Zhou Yuying Fan 2024Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,3:0
14Pollutant emissions from biomass burning:A review on emission characteristics,environmental impacts,and research perspectives显示文摘Biomass is one most abundant resource on the earth providing important energies in support of so-cioeconomic development in many areas.Burning of biomass fuels comprises to nearly 10%of the total energy from anthropogenic combustion processes:however,as the burning is usually incomplete,this process yields products of incomplete combustion posing consequently significant impacts on air quality,human health,and climate change.Here,we analyzed spatiotemporal characteristics in intentional and unintentional biomass burning from different sectors,discussed impacts of biomass burning emissions on indoor and outdoor air quality,and consequent influences on human health.The global total con-sumption amount of biomass including both natural and anthropogenic sources was approximately 7900 Tg in 2019,with significantly large regional and sectorial discrepancies among regions.Globally,anthropogenic biomass burning amounts increased gradually,but notably in some developing countries like China residential consumption of biomass fuels,as one large sector of biomass use,decreased over time.Uncommercial biomass consumption needs to be accurately quantified.There are relatively rich datasets of pollutant emission factors from biomass burning,including laboratory and field tests,but still large variations exit and contribute substantially to the uncertainty in emission inventory.Global pri-mary PM2.5,black carbon and organic carbon emissions from biomass burning were about 51,4.6,and 29 Tg,respectively,contributing to nearly 70%,55%,and 90%of the total emission from all sources,and emissions from the residential sector and open fires are major sources.Brown carbon emissions from biomass burning attracts growing interests but available studies adopted different methodologies challenging the comparability of those results.Biomass burning emissions polluted not only ambient air but more severely indoor air quality,adversely affecting human health.Future studies that should be emphasized and promoted are suggested.Ke Jiang Ran Xing Zhihan Luo Wenxuan Huang Fan Yi Yatai Men Nan Zhao Zhaofeng Chang jinfeng Zhao Bo Pan Guofeng shen 2024Particuology2024,85,2:0
15Observatory science with eXTP显示文摘In this White Paper we present the potential of the enhanced X-ray Timing and Polarimetry(eXTP) mission for studies related to Observatory Science targets. These include flaring stars, supernova remnants, accreting white dwarfs, low and high mass X-ray binaries, radio quiet and radio loud active galactic nuclei, tidal disruption events, and gamma-ray bursts. eXTP will be excellently suited to study one common aspect of these objects: their often transient nature. 16FePCCu nanocrystalline alloys with excellent soft magnetic properties显示文摘The effect of Cu addition on crystallization behavior and soft magnetic properties of Fe 84xP10C6 Cux (x= 0 1.15) alloys was investigated. Low-cost FePCCu nanocrystalline alloys dispersed with α-Fe phase with an average grain size of 15-35nm were obtained by appropriately annealing the melt-spun ribbons at 683K for 5min. The Fe 83.25P10C6Cu0.75 nanocrystalline alloy exhibits a high B s of 1.65T, low H c of 3.3A/m and high eat 1kHz of21 100, which is superior to the traditional FePC soft magnetic alloys. The core loss is as low as 0.32W/kg at1.0 T and 50Hz, which is 60% that of nonoriented Fe 6.5 mass% Si-steel. 17Effect of Osteocytes Subjected to Fluid Flow on Osteoblasts显示文摘Osteocytes act as mechanosensors in bone, which can send mechanical signals directly to osteoblasts through gap junctions. However, under physiological conditions the number of gap junctions is limited because of the quantity variance of the two kinds of cells. In this study, the possibility of indirect interaction between these two cells was investigated. A new flow champer was designed in which osteocytes and osteoblasts were cocultured in two champers separately. Osteocytes were exposed to fluid flow and then the ALP activity, osteocalcin and osteopotin of osteoblasts were determined.
