Immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a recombinant protein subunit vaccine and an inactivated vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 variants in non-human primates显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants and the gradually decreasing neutralizing antibodies over time post vaccination have led to an increase in incidents of breakthrough infection across the world. To investigate the potential protective effect of the recombinant protein subunit COVID-19 vaccine targeting receptor-binding domain(RBD)(PS-RBD)and whole inactivated virus particle vaccine(IV)against the variant strains,in this study, rhesus macaques were immunized with PS-RBD or IV vaccine, followed by a Beta variant(B.1.351)challenge.Although neutralizing activity against the Beta variant was reduced compared with that against the prototype, the decreased viral load in both upper and lower respiratory tracts, milder pathological changes, and downregulated inflammatory cytokine levels in lung tissues after challenge demonstrated that PS-RBD and IV still provided effective protection against the Beta variant in the macaque model.Furthermore,PS-RBD-induced macaque sera possessed general binding and neutralizing activity to Alpha,Beta,Delta, and Omicron variants in our study, though the neutralizing antibody(NAb)titers declined by varying degrees, demonstrating potential protection of PS-RBD against current circulating variants of concern(VOCs).Interestingly, although the IV vaccine-induced extremely low neutralizing antibody titers against the Beta variant,it still showed reduction for viral load and significantly alleviated pathological change.Other correlates of vaccine-induced protection(CoP)like antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)and immune memory were both confirmed to be existing in IV vaccinated group and possibly be involved in the protective mechanism.Qian He Qunying Mao Xiaozhong Peng Zhanlong He Shuaiyao Lu Jialu Zhang Fan Gao Lianlian Bian Chaoqiang An Wenhai Yu Fengmei Yang Yanan Zhou Yun Yang Yanyan Li Yadi Yuan Xujia Yan Jinghuan Yang Xing Wu Weijin Huang Changgui Li Junzhi Wang Zhenglun Liang Miao Xu 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4:2
A novel isoform of ATOH8 promotes the metastasis of breast cancer by regulating RhoC显示文摘Metastases are the main cause of cancer-related mortality in breast cancer.Although significant progress has been made in the field of tumor metastasis, the exact molecular mechanisms involved in tumor metastasis are still unclear. Here,we report that ATOH8-V1,a novel isoform of ATOH8,is highly expressed in breast cancer and is a negative prognostic indicator of survival for patients.Forced expression of ATOH8-V1 dramatically enhances, while silencing of ATOH8-V1 decreases the metastasis of breast cancer cell lines.Moreover,ATOH8-V1 directly binds to the RhoC promoter and stimulates the expression of RhoC,which in turn enhances the metastasis of breast cancer.Altogether, our data demonstrate that ATOH8-V1 is a novel pro-metastatic factor that enhances cancer metastasis, suggesting that AT0H8-V1 is a potential therapeutic target for treatment of metastatic cancers.Mengyao Xu Shan Huang Xiaoli Dong Yanan Chen Miao Li Wen Shi Guanwen Wang Chongbiao Huang Qiong Wang Yanhua Liu Peiqing Sun Shuang Yang Rong Xiang Antao Chang 2021Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2021,13,1:2
Analysis and Modeling of Wangqing Oil Shale Drying Characteristics in a Novel Fluidized Bed Dryer with Asynchronous Rotating Air Distributor显示文摘In order to replace the conventional distributor, a novel asynchronous rotating air distributor, which can optimize the drying ability of fluidized bed and strengthen the drying performance of oil shale particles, is creatively designed in this study. The rotating speed of the asynchronous rotating air distributor with an embedded center disk and an encircling disk is regulated to achieve the different air supply conditions. The impacts of different drying conditions on the drying characteristic of Wangqing oil shale particles are studied with the help of electronic scales. The dynamics of experimental data is analyzed with 9 common drying models. The results indicate that the particles distribution in fluidized bed can be improved and the drying time can be reduced by decreasing the rotating speed of the embedded center disk and increasing the rotating speed of the encircling disk. The drying process of oil shale particles involves a rising drying rate period, a constant drying rate period and a falling drying rate period. Regulating the air distributor rotating speed reasonably will accelerate the shift of particles from the rising drying rate period to the falling drying rate period directly. The two-term model fits properly the oil shale particles drying simulation among 9 drying models at different air supply conditions. Yet the air absorbed in the particles' pores is diffused along with the moisture evaporation, and a small amount of moisture remains on the wall of fluidized bed in each experiment, thus, the values of drying simulation are less than the experimental values.Yang Ning Zhou Yunlong Miao Yanan 2016China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2016,18,2:1
Recent Advances in Constructing Interfacial Active Catalysts Based on Layered Double Hydroxides and Their Catalytic Mechanisms显示文摘The interaction between the metal and the support of supported metal catalysts, which are widely used in industry, is the primary focus of the study of such catalysts. With the developing understanding of the metal–support interaction, the intrinsic factor that influences the catalytic performance has been determined to be the structure of interfacial sites. Layered double hydroxides(LDHs, a class of two-dimensional layered anion clay) possess several unique characteristics, such as the following:(1) tunable elemental component, homogeneous distribution of metal cations.(2) anchoring eff ect.(3) multiple layered structure for exfoliation or intercalation and special memory eff ect;and(4) internal/external confinement eff ects during topological transformation. Taking LDHs and their derivatives as precursors or supports shows superior advantages in designing interfacial active catalysts with tunable properties. Therefore, this review is mainly focused on constructing interfacial active catalysts by LDHs and revealing the interfacial eff ects(including electronic, geometric, and bifunctional eff ects) on the catalytic performance that will provide new perspectives and approaches for the development of heterogeneous catalysis.Haoxuan Du Jiaxuan Fan Chenglin Miao Mingyu Gao Yanan Liu Dianqing Li Junting Feng 2021Transactions of Tianjin University2021,27,1:1

The levels of microbial diversity in dif ferent water layers of saline Chagan Lake,China显示文摘Saline lakes represent a particularly interesting aquatic environment for harboring high microbial diversity. However, the microbial diversity in different states and locations of saline lake is often overlooked. We studied for the first time the diversity and relative composition of the microbial communities in the Chagan Lake,NE China, and investigated the dif ferences in microbial species and physical and chemical factors in different geographical localities of the lake. After extracting the total DNA of the sample,we tested the library with the established library, sequenced the qualified library with Illumina HiSeq 2500,and studied the bacterial diversity by 16 S rRNA targeted metagenomics analysis. Results reveal that the highest microbial abundance in Chagan Lake at genus level was Proteobacterium followed by Actinomycetes and Bacteroides. In addition,we compared the microbial composition within the lake using alpha-and beta-diversity indices, showing that both diversity and evenness were the highest in the middle of the lake and lowest in the west of lake areas, and in the upper, middle, and lower depth of water columns, the low water column had the highest species number in the whole water environment, but the dif ference was not significant. We believe that physicochemical factors contribute to the formation of microbial community composition and diversity. In aquaculture industry,it is impossible apply horticulture for making full use of the spatial dif ferences in the microbial composition of the water. Therefore, combining cultured aquatic animal with the most suitable microbial species is a good way to boost the breeding ef fect for greater economic value.ZHANG Lei CAI Yanan JIANG Miao DAI Jing GUO Xiyao LI Wei LI Yuehong 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,2:0

Extracellular vesicles derived from human dental mesenchymal stem cells stimulated with low-intensity pulsed ultrasound alleviate inflammation-induced bone loss in a mouse model of periodontitis显示文摘Extracellular vesicles(EVs)derived from mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)have emerged as a new mode of intercellular crosstalk and are responsible for many of the thera-peutic effects of MSCs.To promote the application of MSC-EVs,recent studies have focused on the manipulation of MSCs to improve the production of EVs and EV-mediated activities. The current paper details an optimization method using non-invasive low-intensity pulsed ul-trasound(LIPUS)as the stimulation for improving oral MSC-EV production and effectiveness.Stem cells from apical papilla(SCAP),a type of oral mesenchymal stem cell, displayed inten-sity-dependent pro-osteogenic and anti-inflammatory responses to LIPUS without significant cytotoxicity or apoptosis. The stimuli increased the secretion of EVs by promoting the expres-sion of neutral sphingomyelinases in SCAP.In addition,EVs from LIPUS-induced SCAP exhibited stronger efficacy in promoting the osteogenic differentiation and anti-inflammation of peri-odontal ligament cells in vitro and alleviating oral inflammatory bone loss in vivo.In addition,LIPUS stimulation affected the physical characteristics and miRNA cargo of SCAP-EVs.Further investigations indicated that miR-935 is an important mediator of the pro-osteogenic and anti-inflammatory capabilities of LIPUS-induced SCAP-EVs.Taken together, these findings demonstrate that LIPUS is a simple and effective physical method to optimize SCAP-EV produc-tion and efficacy.Tingwei Zhang Ziqi Chen Mengyuan Zhu Xuan Jing Xiaohui Xu Xulei Yuan Mengjiao Zhou Yanan Zhang Miao Lu Duanjing Chen Shihan Xu Jinlin Song 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,4:0
Systemic antibiotics increase microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss显示文摘Periodontitis is the most widespread oral disease and is closely related to the oral microbiota. The oral microbiota is adversely affected by some pharmacologic treatments.Systemic antibiotics are widely used for infectious diseases but can lead to gut dysbiosis, causing negative effects on the human body.Whether systemic antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis can affect the oral microbiota or even periodontitis has not yet been addressed. In this research, mice were exposed to drinking water containing a cocktail of four antibiotics to explore how systemic antibiotics affect microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss. The results demonstrated, for the first time, that gut dysbiosis caused by long-term use of antibiotics can disturb the oral microbiota and aggravate periodontitis. Moreover, the expression of cytokines related to Th17 was increased while transcription factors and cytokines related to Treg were decreased in the periodontal tissue.Fecal microbiota transplantation with normal mice feces restored the gut microbiota and barrier, decreased the pathogenicity of the oral microbiota, reversed the Th17/Treg imbalance in periodontal tissue, and alleviated alveolar bone loss. This study highlights the potential adverse effects of long-term systemic antibiotics-induced gut dysbiosis on the oral microbiota and periodontitis.A Th17/Treg imbalance might be related to this relationship.Importantly, these results reveal that the periodontal condition of patients should be assessed regularly when using systemic antibiotics in clinical practice.Xulei Yuan Fuyuan Zhou He Wang Xinxin Xu Shihan Xu Chuangwei Zhang Yanan Zhang Miao Lu Yang Zhang Mengjiao Zhou Han Li Ximu Zhang Tingwei Zhang Jinlin Song 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1:0
Moisture Distribution of Heterogeneous Agglomerates in Fluidized Bed显示文摘Agglomerates formed in the fluidized bed were studied in this paper using the TEB atomization nozzle. The multi-sieving method was adopted to distinguish the size of original particles, nucleation agglomerates, coherence agglomerates, and paste agglomerates in order to successfully identify the different growth stages and select the region for coexistence of most stable heterogeneous agglomerates as the research object. A multi-channel conductance electrical circuit experimental device was developed in this study to measure the conductance signal, which was found to have a liner relationship with the moisture content inside the fluidized bed. By adjusting the sieve mesh openings to achieve the layered isolation of heterogeneous agglomerates, the conductance signal recovered slowly as a result of the agglomerates' fracture during the continuous fluidization process, so that particles and agglomerates moisture distribution measurements could be implemented. The device was used to measure the particles and agglomerates moisture distribution state in the heterogeneous coexistence region, when they were injected with liquid mass within the range of w i=2.8 kg to 4.4 kg. The results indicated that with the increase of liquid mass flow, the moisture content of coherence agglomerates also increased, but the moisture content of nucleation agglomerates was decreased, and that of the original particles was maintained at a relatively low level. When the experimental injection amount reached 4.4 kg, the moisture contained in coherence agglomerates could amount to 87.3%, accounting for a big percentage of moisture in the fluidized bed.Zhou Yunlong Yang Ning Miao Yanan 2015China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2015,17,1:0
Exploring Sulfur Chemistry in TMC-1 with NSRT显示文摘There have been several studies on sulfur depletion in dense cores like TMC-1(Taurus Molecular Cloud 1),employing updated reaction networks for sulfur species to explain the missing sulfur in the gas within dense clouds. Most of these studies used a C/O ratio of 0.7 or lower. We present NSRT(NanShan 26m Radio Telescope)observations of TMC-1 alongside results from time-dependent chemical simulations using an updated chemical network. Our findings highlight the impact of the C/O ratio on the gas-phase evolution of C2S and C3S.The simulation results show that the C/O ratio is an important parameter, playing a fundamental role in determining the gas-phase abundances of sulfur species in dense cores.Wasim Iqbal Xiaohu Li Juan Tuo Ryszard Szczerba Yanan Feng Zhenzhen Miao Jiangchao Yang Jixing Ge Gleb Fedoseev Donghui Quan Qiang Chang Chuan-Lu Yang Tao Yang Gao-Lei Hou Yong Zhang Xuan Fang Xia Zhang Fangfang Li Rong Ma Xiaomin Song Zhiping Kou Yuxuan Sun 2024Chinese Physics Letters2024,41,2:0
