| 2 | Joint contractures in severe burn patients with early rehabilitation intervention in one of the largest burn intensive care unit in China:a descriptive analysis显示文摘Background:Joint contracture is the major clinical complication in burn patients,especially,the severe burn patients.This study aimed to investigate the number and severity of joint contractures in patients with burns affecting greater than or equal to 50%of the total body surface area(TBSA)undergoing early rehabilitation in a burn intensive care unit(BICU).Methods:We analyzed burn patients with burns affecting greater than or equal to 50%of the TBSA admitted to a BICU who received early rehabilitation within 7 days post-injury from January 2011 to December 2015.Demographic and medical information was collected.The range of motion(ROM)of different joints was measured 1 month post-admission.Spearman’s correlation coefficient and logistic regression analysis was used to determine predictors of the presence and severity of contractures.Result:The average affected TBSA of the included burn patients was 67.4%,and the average length of stay in the BICU was 46.2±28.8 days.One hundred and one of 108 burn patients(93.5%)developed at least one joint contracture.The ROM in 67.9%of the affected joints was mildly limited.The majority of contractures in severe burn patients were mild(37.7%)or moderate(33.2%).The wrist was the most commonly affected joint(18.2%),followed by the shoulder,ankle,hip,knee,and elbow.A predictor of the presence of contractures was the length of hospital stay(p=0.049).The severe contracture was related to the area of full-thickness burns,the strict bed rest time,and the duration of rehabilitation in BICU.The length of rehabilitation stay(days)in patients with moderate contracture is 54.5%longer than that in severe contracture(p=0.024)Conclusion:During the long stay in BICU,the length of rehabilitation stay in a BICU could decrease the severity of contractures from severe to moderate in the patients with equal to 50%of the TBSA.Hence,this research reveals the important role of early rehabilitation interventions in severe burn patients. | Jianglin Tan Jian Chen Junyi Zhou Huapei Song Huan Deng Ming Ao Gaoxing Luo Jun Wu | 2019 | Burns & Trauma2019,7,1: | 9 |
| 3 | The influence of atmospheric Hg on Hg contaminations in rice and paddy soil in the Xunyang Hg mining district,China显示文摘To date, the Xunyang mercury(Hg) mining district is the only ongoing large-scale Hg mining district in China. To understand the influence of Hg contamination mode from the Hg mining and smelting activities, 27 sampling sites in the Xunyang Hg mining district were chosen in this study. Total gaseous mercury(TGM) in ambient air was measured using a Lumex-RA915 automatic Hg analyzer in2011. Rice samples and soil samples from rhizosphere were collected systematically and simultaneously. Total Hg(THg) and methylmercury(Me Hg) concentrations in rice grain and soil samples and Hg speciation with modified sequential selective extractions were measured. The local environment was seriously polluted with Hg. The TGM(302 ± 376 ng·m-3, ranging from 24 to 2220 ng·m^(-3)) in the local ambient air, THg(28 ± 30 mg·kg^(-1), ranging from 0.31 to 121 mg·kg^(-1)) and Me Hg(2.3 ± 1.9 lg·kg^(-1),ranging from 0.24 to 8.9 lg·kg^(-1)) in soil samples were at the sample level with Hg contaminated area. The THg concentration(26 ± 16 lg·kg^(-1)ranging from 4.5 to 71 lg·kg^(-1)) in most of the rice grain samples clearly exceeds the threshold level(20 lg·kg^(-1)) in the Chinese national guidelines for cereals(NY 861-2004). The inorganic mercury(IHg)(9.1 ± 5.6 lg·kg^(-1), ranging from 1.2 to 24 lg·kg^(-1)) and Me Hg(14 ± 9.8 lg·kg^(-1), ranging from 2.1 to 59 lg·kg^(-1))concentration in rice grain samples were at the same level with Hg contaminated area. The main species of Hg in paddy soils reveal strong complex Hg and residue Hg. | 14 | The 10 Most Influential Heavy Rain Events in China in 2022:Selection and Evaluation显示文摘In 2022,a campaign to select and recognize 10 most influential heavy rain events(HREs)in China was initiated by the Chinese Meteorological Society and Wuhan Heavy Rain Research Institute of the China Meteorological Administration(CMA).A work flow involving both scientists and the general public for selecting major HREs over the Chinese mainland was implemented,and several evaluation indices that can represent HREs as well as associated causality and economic losses were established,based on which the top 10 most influential HREs in 2022 were recognized and announced to the public.The present paper introduces the selection and evaluation process and summarizes the main results.It is found that 38 major HREs occurred in South,North,and Northeast China in 2022,with the Pearl River basin and Songliao basin experiencing severe floods.A number of HREs occurred in Southwest China with high rainfall intensity,but small cumulative amount.Upper-level troughs,low vortices,low-level jets,low-level shear lines,the subtropical high,and typhoons are the main weather systems leading to the top 10 most influential HREs in 2022.Selection and evaluation of HREs form a quantitative record of major HREs,help concentrate limited research efforts on investigating the causes of major HREs,and promote the improvement of HRE forecasting skills. | Ao LI Hao YANG Chunguang CUI Tao PENG Yishan LIAO Ming XU Xiaofang WANG | 2023 | Journal of Meteorological Research2023,37,6: | 0 |

| 18 | A Pathological Study of GIFT Strain of Nile Tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus)Infected by Streptococcus agalactiae显示文摘[Objectives] This study aimed to determine the infection pathway and target organs of Streptococcus agalactiae in GIFT strain of Nile tilapia,thus providing theoretical basis for the breeding of disease-resistant tilapia and development of S. agalactiae vaccines. [Methods]GIFT strain of Nile tilapia was inoculated by S. agalactiae through intraperitoneal injection,oral gavage and in vitro immersion. The gill,spleen,liver and small intestine tissues of infected tilapia were collected for pathomorphological observation. Immunohistochemical localization was conducted using rabbit anti-S. agalactiae serum to identify the distribution pattern of S. agalactiae in various tissues of tilapia and its target organs via different infection pathways. [Results]GIFT strain of Nile tilapia could be infected by S.agalactiae via three artificial inoculation modes. Specifically,pathological changes occurred at 2 h post-inoculation in intraperitoneal injection and oral gavage groups,whereas tilapia in in vitro immersion group showed pathological changes at 5 h post-inoculation,and the lesion intensity in in vitro immersion group was slighter than that in intraperitoneal injection and oral gavage groups. Immunohistochemical localization indicated that the appearance time of positive signals in intraperitoneal injection group demonstrated an order of spleen→liver and gill→small intestine; positive signals in oral gavage group appeared in the order of small intestine→gill and spleen→liver; the appearance time of positive signals in in vitro immersion group showed an order of gill → spleen → liver and small intestine.[Conclusions]GIFT strain of Nile tilapia could be infected by S. agalactiae via intraperitoneal injection,oral gavage and in vitro immersion. The corresponding positive signals for pathogen infection were preferentially present in the spleen,intestine and gill tissues. | 19 | The Correlation between Different Fruiting Branch Diameters of Actinidia chinensis and Fruit Quality Change in Post-ripening Period显示文摘he research aimed to explore the correlation between fruiting branch diameter of A. chinensis and fruit quality change during the post-ripening period and the mechanism,which could provide theoretical basis for making scientific management measures during A. chinensis fruit post-ripening period. In this paper,correlation analysis between fruiting branch diameter of A. chinensis and fruit quality change during post-ripening period during 2013- 2015 was conducted. Results were as below:(i) correlation coefficient analysis showed that fruiting branch diameter was highly positive correlation with number of fruit ventricle,significantly positive correlation with single fruit weight when picking and the indexes after the fruit ripening single(single fruit weight,loss rate of single fruit weight,longitudinal diameter of fruit and width of fruit core),lowly positive correlation with sugar content of fruit juice,and positive correlation with thick transverse diameter of fruit after ripening.(ii) Standard errors of regression analysis between fruiting branch diameter and single fruit weight,longitudinal diameter of fruit,wide transverse diameter of fruit,thick transverse diameter of fruit,fruit core length and sugar content of fruit juice were 12. 4248,4. 2731,2. 6452,2. 0260,0. 1337 and 1. 0035 respectively; significance F values of variance analysis were 0. 0743,0. 0658,0. 1950,0. 5733,0. 2600 and 0. 1517 respectively. It showed that fruiting branch diameter had a significant difference with thick transverse diameter of fruit and insignificant differences with other indicators; quadratic curve regression equation and linear regression equation of residual curve,observed value curve,forecast value curve and normal probability curve of were analyzed,and the results were all in line with the law of quadratic curve.(iii)The larger the fruiting branch diameter,the greater the indexes after post-ripening(single fruit weight,longitudinal diameter of fruit,wide transverse diameter of fruit,thick transverse diameter of fruit and sugar content of fruit juice),the better the fruit quality. It was clear that fruiting branch diameter could be as one of important bases of fruit quality change during post-ripening period. | 20 | Genomic dissection of gastrointestinal and lung neuroendocrine neoplasm显示文摘Objective:Neuroendocrine neoplasms(NENs)are relatively rare and heterogeneous malignancies with two major subtypes:low-grade neuroendocrine tumor(NET)and high-grade neuroendocrine carcinoma(NEC).Comprehensive molecular characterization of NENs is needed to refine our understanding of the biological underpinnings of different NEN subtypes and to predict disease progression more accurately.Methods:We performed whole-exome sequencing(WES)of NEN samples from 49 patients(25 NETs and 24 NECs)arising from the stomach,intestines or lung.Clinicopathologic features were assessed and associated with molecular events.Results:NENs generally harbor a low mutation burden,with TP53 being the top mutated gene found in 31%of patients.Consistent with other studies,p53 signaling pathway dysfunction is significantly enriched in NECs compared to NETs(P<0.01).Other than TP53,tissue type-specific mutation profiles of NENs were observed in our cohort compared to those reported in pancreatic NETs.Importantly,we observed significant genomic instability,with increased copy number alterations observed across the NEN genome,which was more profound in NECs and independently correlated with poor overall survival(OS)(P<0.001).NECs could be further stratified into two molecular subtypes based on OS(P<0.001)and the chromosomal instability score(CIS).Interestingly,we discovered that the gain of whole chromosome 5 occurred at the early stage of NEN development,followed by the loss of 5 q exclusively in NECs(P<0.001).Conclusions:These findings provide novel insights into the molecular characteristics of NENs and highlight the association of genomic stability with clinical outcomes. | Haixing Wang Li Sun Hua Bao Ao Wang Panpan Zhang Xue Wu Xiaoling Tong Xiaonan Wang Jie Luo Lin Shen Yang WShao Ming Lu | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2019,31,6: | 0 |
