1Effects of grain size on phase transition behavior of nanocrystalline shape memory alloys显示文摘We report recent advances in the experimental and theoretical study of grain size(GS)effects on the thermal and mechanical properties of nanostructured NiTi polycrystalline shape memory alloy(SMA).It is shown that when GS<60 nm,the superelastic stress-strain hysteresis loop area(H)of the polycrystal decreases rapidly with GS and tends to vanish as GS approaches 10 nanometers.At the same time,the temperature dependence of the transition stress also decreases with GS and eventually approaches zero,leading to a wide superelastic temperature window and breakdown of the Clausius-Claperyon relationship.Rate dependence of the stress-strain responses is significantly reduced and the cyclic stability of the material is improved by the nanocrystallization.It is proposed that the emergence of such significant changes in the behavior of the material with GS reduction originate from the large increase in the area-to-volume ratios of the nanometer-thick interfaces(grain boundary and Austenite-Martensite(A-M)interface)in the polycrystal.In particular,with GS reduction,interfacial energy terms will gradually become dominant over the bulk energy of the crystallite,eventually bring fundamental changes in the phase transition responses of the material.Modelling strategy leading to the establishment of quantitative relationships among GS,grain boundary,A-M interfaces and the macroscopic responses of the material are outlined.SUN QingPing ASLAN Ahadi LI MingPeng CHEN MingXiang 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,4:9
2Corrosion engineering boosting bulk Fe_(50)Mn_(30)Co_(10)Cr_(10)high-entropy alloy as high-efficient alkaline oxygen evolution reaction electrocatalyst显示文摘Oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is a critical process in electrocatalytic water splitting.However,the development of low-cost,highly efficient OER electrocatalysts by a simple method that can be used for industrial application on a large scale is still a huge challenge.Recently,high entropy alloy(HEA)has acquired extensive attention,which may provide answers to the current dilemma.Here,we report bulk Fe_(50)Mn_(30)Co_(10)Cr_(10),which is prepared by 3D printing on a large scale,as electrocatalyst for OER with high catalytic performance.Especially,an easy approach,corrosion engineering,is adopted for the first time to build an active layer of honeycomb nanostructures on its surface,leading to ultrahigh OER performance with an overpotential of 247 mV to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),a low Tafel slope of 63 mV dec^(-1),and excellent stability up to 60 h at 100 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH.The excellent catalytic activity mainly originates from:(1)the binder-free self-supported honeycomb nanostructures and multi-component hydroxides,which improve intrinsic catalytic activity,provide rich active sites,and reduce interfacial resistance;and(2)the diverse valence states for multiple active sites to enhance the OER kinetics.Our findings show that corrosion engineering is a novel strategy to improve the bulk HEA catalytic performance.We expect that this work would open up a new avenue to fabricate large-scale HEA electrocatalysts by 3D printing and corrosion engineering for industrial applications.Pengfei Zhou Dong Liu Yuyun Chen Mingpeng Chen Yunxiao Liu Shi Chen Chi Tat Kwok Yuxin Tang Shuangpeng Wang Hui Pan 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,14:3

5New phenylpyridone derivatives from the Penicillium sumatrense GZWMJZ-313,a fungal endophyte of Garcinia multiflora显示文摘Citridones E-G (1-3), three new phenylpyridone derivatives together with two known curvularins (4 and 5) were isolated from the solid culture of the endophytic fungus Penicillium sumatrense GZWMJZ-313 in Garcinia multiflora. The structures of new compounds were determined in the light of spectroscopic data,X-ray and ECD calculation. 13A Study on Dual-Load-Zone Model of Overlying Strata andEvolution Law of Mining Stress显示文摘The changeable structure and movement law of overlying strata are the maincontributor to the change of mining stress.Starting from the relevant theory of keystratum and particularly based on the theory of mine ground pressure and strata control,this research proposed a new solution to mining stress problems by establishing adual-load-zone stratum structural model.Elastic foundation beam theory was used tosolve the stress of overlying strata of the dual-load-zones with superposition method,which revised the traditional calculation method of mining stress.The abnormal increaseof lead abutment pressure in the mining area was explained effectively,through which theevolution law of mining stress in the case of hard rock was obtained.The results indicatethat mining stress experiences a drastic change within the range of 50 m ahead of the coalwall due to the collapse of main roof;under the influence of main key stratum andinferior key strata,the influence range of lead abutment pressure is extended up toapproximately 120 m in the working face;this remarkable increase can be attributed tothe excessive length of sagging zone.Results from both the dual-load-zone modelexperiment and field measurement demonstrate high consistency.The model can predictthe influence range of abutment pressure effectively and thus guide the safety productionof mining.Yuejin Zhou Mingpeng Li Xiaoding Xu Meng Li 2019Computers, Materials & Continua2019,,2:1
14Green tea extract as a cryoprotectant additive to preserve the motility and DNA integrity of human spermatozoa显示文摘Cryopreservation impairs sperm quality and functions,including motility and DNA integrity.Antioxidant additives in sperm freezing media have previously brought improvements in postthawed sperm quality.Green tea extract(GTE)is widely considered as an excellent antioxidant,and its beneficial role has been proven in other human cells.This study aims to evaluate the GTE as a potential additive in cryopreservation media of human spermatozoa.In part one,the semen of 20 normozoospermic men was used to optimize the concentration of GTE that maintains sperm motility and DNA integrity against oxidative stress,induced by hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2)).Spermatozoa were treated with GTE at different concentrations before incubation with H_(2)O_(2).In part two,the semen of 45 patients was cryopreserved with or without 1.0 ng ml^(-1)GTE.After 2 weeks,the semen was thawed,and the effect on sperm motility and DNA fragmentation was observed.Our data showed that GTE significantly protected sperm motility and DNA integrity against oxidative stress induced by H_(2)O_(2)when added at a final concentration of 1.0 ng ml^(-1).We found that the addition of 1.0 ng ml^(-1)GTE to cryopreservation media significantly increased sperm motility and DNA integrity(both P<0.05).More interestingly,patients with high sperm DNA damage benefited similarly from the GTE supplementation.However,there was no significant change in the reactive oxygen species(ROS)level.In conclusion,supplementing sperm freezing media with GTE has a significant protective effect on human sperm motility and DNA integrity,which may be of clinical interest.Odai AM Alqawasmeh Mingpeng Zhao Carol PS Chan Maran BW Leung Ki C Chow Nikunj Agarwal Jennifer SM Mak Chi C Wang Chi P Pang Tin C Li Wai K Chu David YL Chan 2021Asian Journal of Andrology2021,23,2:0

17MCU-induced mitochondrial calcium uptake promotes mitochondrial biogenesis and colorectal cancer growth显示文摘Mitochondrial calcium uniporter(MCU)has an important role in regulating mitochondrial calcium(Ca^(2+))homeostasis.Dysregulation of mitochondrial Ca^(2+)homeostasis has been implicated in various cancers.However,it remains unclear whether MCU regulates mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake to promote cell growth in colorectal cancer(CRC).Therefore,in the present study the expression of MCU in CRC tissues and its clinical significance were examined.Following which,the biological function of MCUmediated mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake in CRC cell growth and the underlying mechanisms were systematically evaluated using in in vitro and in vivo assays,which included western blotting,cell viability and apoptosis assays,as well as xenograft nude mice models.Our results demonstrated that MCU was markedly upregulated in CRC tissues at both the mRNA and protein levels.Upregulated MCU was associated with poor prognosis in patients with CRC.Our data reported that upregulation of MCU enhanced the mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake to promote mitochondrial biogenesis,which in turn facilitated CRC cell growth in vitro and in vivo.In terms of the underlying mechanism,it was identified that MCU-mediated mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake inhibited the phosphorylation of transcription factor A,mitochondrial(TFAM),and thus enhanced its stability to promote mitochondrial biogenesis.Furthermore,our data indicated that increased mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake led to increased mitochondrial production of ROS via the upregulation of mitochondrial biogenesis,which subsequently activated NF-κB signaling to accelerate CRC growth.In conclusion,the results indicated that MCU-induced mitochondrial Ca^(2+)uptake promotes mitochondrial biogenesis by suppressing phosphorylation of TFAM,thus contributing to CRC cell growth.Our findings reveal a novel mechanism underlying mitochondrial Ca^(2+)-mediated CRC cell growth and may provide a potential pharmacological target for CRC treatment.Yang Liu Mingpeng Jin Yaya Wang Jianjun Zhu Rui Tan Jing Zhao Xiaoying Ji Chao Jin Yongfeng Jia Tingting Ren Jinliang Xing 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:0
18Remarkable synergistic effect in cobalt-iron nitride/alloy nanosheets for robust electrochemical water splitting显示文摘Design and synthesis of noble-metal-free bifunctional catalysts for efficient and robust electrochemical water splitting are of significant importance in developing clean and renewable energy sources for sustainable energy consumption.Herein,a simple three-step strategy is reported to construct cobalt-iron nitride/alloy nanosheets on nickel foam(CoFe-NA/NF)as a bifunctional catalyst for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The electrocatalyst with optimized composition(CoFe-NA2/NF)can achieve ultralow overpotentials of 73 mV and 250 mV for HER and OER,respectively,at a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2) in 1 M KOH.Notably,the electrolyzer based on this electrocatalyst is able to boost the overall water splitting with a cell voltage of 1.564 V to deliver 10 mA cm^(-2) for at least 50 h without obvious performance decay.Furthermore,our experiment and theoretical calculation demonstrate that the combination of cobalt-iron nitride and alloy can have low hydrogen adsorption energy and facilitate water dissociation during HER.In addition,the surface reconstruction introduces metal oxyhydroxides to optimize the OER process.Our work may pave a new pathway to design bifunctional catalysts for overall water splitting.Mingpeng Chen Di Liu Baoye Zi Yuyun Chen Dong Liu Xinyu Du Feifei Li Pengfei Zhou Ye Ke Jielei Li Kin Ho Lo Chi Tat Kwok Weng Fai Ip Shi Chen Shuangpeng Wang Qingju Liu Hui Pan 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,2:0
19Research on China’s technology lists for addressing climate change显示文摘The compilation of technology lists addressing climate change has a guiding effect on promoting technological research and development,demonstration,and popularization.It is also crucial for China to strengthen ecological civilization construction,achieve the carbon emission peak and carbon neutrality target,and enhance global climate governance capabilities.This study first proposes the existing classification outline of the technology promotion lists,technology demand lists,and future technology lists.Then,different methodologies are integrated on the basis of the existing outline of four technology lists:China’s existing technological promotion list for addressing climate change,China’s demand list for climate change mitigation technology,China’s key technology list for addressing climate change,and China’s future technology list for addressing climate change.What’s more,core technologies are analyzed in the aspects of technology maturity,carbon reduction cost,carbon reduction potential,economic benefits,social influence,uncertainty,etc.The results show that:key industries and sectors in China already have relatively mature mitigation/adaptation technologies to support the achievement of climate change targets.The multi-sectoral system of promoting climate friendly technologies has been established,which has played an active role in tackling climate change.Currently,climate technology needs are concentrated in the traditional technology and equipment upgrading,renewable energy technology,and management decision-making support technology.The key technologies are concentrated in 3 major areas and 12 technological directions that urgently need a breakthrough.For carbon emmission peak and nentrality,carbon depth reduction and zero carbon emissions and geoengineering technology(CDR and SRM)have played an important role in forming the structure of global emissions and achieving carbon neutrality in the future.Thus,the uncertainty assessment for the comprehensive technology cost effectiveness,technology integration direction,technical maturity,ethics and ecological impacts is supportive to the national technology strategy.Finally,the presented study proposes several policy implications for medium-and long-term technology deployment,improving technology conversion rate,promoting the research and development of core technologies,and forming a technology list collaborative update and release mechanism.Can Wang Jianhui Cong Ke Wang Yue Qi Wenjian Cai Yulong Li Sha Fu Wentao Wang Yuanyuan Wei Xinzhu Zheng Jiani Jiang Mingpeng Chen Wenling Liu Yongxiang Zhang Zhibing Tian Ji Chen Rui Li Haiqing Zuo 2021Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2021,19,2:0
20Revisiting the Evolutionary History of Pigs via De Novo Mutation Rate Estimation in A Three-generation Pedigree显示文摘The mutation rate used in the previous analyses of pig evolution and demographics was cursory and hence invited potential bias in inferring evolutionary history.Herein,we estimated the de novo mutation rate of pigs as 3.6×10-9 per base per generation using high-quality whole-genome sequencing data from nine individuals in a three-generation pedigree through stringent filtering and validation.Using this mutation rate,we re-investigated the evolutionary history of pigs.The estimated divergence time of~10 kiloyears ago(KYA)between European wild and domesticated pigs was consistent with the domestication time of European pigs based on archaeological evidence.However,other divergence events inferred here were not as ancient as previously described.Our estimates suggest that Sus speciation occurred~1.36 million years ago(MYA);European wild pigs split from Asian wild pigs only~219 KYA;and south and north Chinese wild pigs split~25 KYA.Meanwhile,our results showed that the most recent divergence event between Chinese wild and domesticated pigs occurred in the Hetao Plain,northern China,approximately 20 KYA,supporting the possibly independent domestication in northern China along the middle Yellow River.We also found that the maximum effective population size of pigs was~6 times larger than estimated before.An archaic migration from other Sus species originating~2 MYA to European pigs was detected during western colonization of pigs,which may affect the accuracy of previous demographic inference.Our de novo mutation rate estimation and its consequences for demographic history inference reasonably provide a new vision regarding the evolutionary history of pigs.Mingpeng Zhang Qiang Yang Huashui Ai Lusheng Huang 2022Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,6:0
