Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution, there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China, raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality. Here, using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution. In particular, large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation, and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter. Our results, afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic, indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants. | Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,2: | 47
A precise tidal prediction mechanism based on the combination of harmonic analysis and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system model显示文摘An efficient and accurate prediction of a precise tidal level in estuaries and coastal areas is indispensable for the management and decision-making of human activity in the field wok of marine engineering. The variation of the tidal level is a time-varying process. The time-varying factors including interference from the external environment that cause the change of tides are fairly complicated. Furthermore, tidal variations are affected not only by periodic movement of celestial bodies but also by time-varying interference from the external environment. Consequently, for the efficient and precise tidal level prediction, a neuro-fuzzy hybrid technology based on the combination of harmonic analysis and adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)model is utilized to construct a precise tidal level prediction system, which takes both advantages of the harmonic analysis method and the ANFIS network. The proposed prediction model is composed of two modules: the astronomical tide module caused by celestial bodies' movement and the non-astronomical tide module caused by various meteorological and other environmental factors. To generate a fuzzy inference system(FIS) structure, three approaches which include grid partition(GP), fuzzy c-means(FCM) and sub-clustering(SC) are used in the ANFIS network constructing process. Furthermore, to obtain the optimal ANFIS based prediction model, large numbers of simulation experiments are implemented for each FIS generating approach. In this tidal prediction study, the optimal ANFIS model is used to predict the non-astronomical tide module, while the conventional harmonic analysis model is used to predict the astronomical tide module. The final prediction result is performed by combining the estimation outputs of the harmonious analysis model and the optimal ANFIS model. To demonstrate the applicability and capability of the proposed novel prediction model, measured tidal level samples of Fort Pulaski tidal station are selected as the testing database. Simulation and experimental results confirm that the proposed prediction approach can achieve precise predictions for the tidal level with high accuracy, satisfactory convergence and stability. | ZHANG Zeguo YIN Jianchuan WANG Nini HU Jiangqiang WANG Ning | 2017 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2017,36,11: | 6
Atrial fibrillatory signal estimation using blind source extraction algorithm based on high-order statistics显示文摘The analysis and the characterization of atrial fibrillation (AF) requires,in a previ-ous key step, the extraction of the atrial activity (AA) free from 12-lead electrocar-diogram (ECG). This contribution proposes a novel non-invasive approach for the AA estimation in AF episodes. The method is based on blind source extraction (BSE) using high order statistics (HOS). The validity and performance of this algo-rithm are confirmed by extensive computer simulations and experiments on real-world data. In contrast to blind source separation (BSS) methods,BSE only extract one desired signal, and it is easy for the machine to judge whether the extracted signal is AA source by calculating its spectrum concentration, while it is hard for the machine using BSS method to judge which one of the separated twelve signals is AA source. Therefore, the proposed method is expected to have great potential in clinical monitoring. | WANG Gang RAO NiNi ZHANG Ying | 2008 | Science in China(Series F)2008,51,10: | 6
Modes of genetic adaptations underlying functional innovations in the rumen显示文摘The rumen is the hallmark organ of ruminants and hosts a diverse ecosystem of microorganisms that facilitates efficient digestion of plant fibers. We analyzed 897 transcriptomes from three Cetartiodactyla lineages:ruminants, camels and cetaceans,as well as data from ruminant comparative genomics and functional assays to explore the genetic basis of rumen functional innovations. We identified genes with relatively high expression in the rumen,of which many appeared to be recruited from other tissues. These genes show functional enrichment in ketone body metabolism, regulation of microbial community, and epithelium absorption, which are the most prominent biological processes involved in rumen innovations.Several modes of genetic change underlying rumen functional innovations were uncovered, including coding mutations, genes newly evolved, and changes of regulatory elements. We validated that the key ketogenesis rate-limiting gene(HMGCS2)with five ruminant-specific mutations was under positive selection and exhibits higher synthesis activity than those of other mammals. Two newly evolved genes(LYZ1 and DEFB1)are resistant to Gram-positive bacteria and thereby may regulate microbial community equilibrium.Furthermore,we confirmed that the changes of regulatory elements accounted for the majority of rumen gene recruitment. These results greatly improve our understanding of rumen evolution and organ evo-devo in general. | Xiangyu Pan Yudong Cai Zongjun Li Xianqing Chen Rasmus Heller Nini Wang Yu Wang Chen Zhao Yong Wang Han Xu Songhai Li Ming Li Cunyuan Li Shengwei Hu Hui Li Kun Wang Lei Chen Bin Wei Zhuqing Zheng Weiwei Fu Yue Yang Tingting Zhang Zhuoting Hou Yueyang Yan Xiaoyang Lv Wei Sun Xinyu Li Shisheng Huang Lixiang Liu Shengyong Mao Wenqing Liu Jinlian Hua Zhipeng Li Guojie Zhang Yulin Chen Xihong Wang Qiang Qiu Brian PDalrymple Wen Wang Yu Jiang | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,1: | 3
Numerical Simulation of Axial Inflow Characteristics and Aerodynamic Noise in a Large-Scale Adjustable-Blade Fan显示文摘Numerical simulation are conducted to explore the characteristics of the axial inflow and related aerodynamic noise for a large-scale adjustable fan with the installation angle changing from−12°to 12°.In such a range the maximum static(gauge)pressure at the inlet changes from−2280 Pa to 382 Pa,and the minimum static pressure decreases from−3389 Pa to−8000 Pa.As for the axial intermediate flow surface, one low pressure zone is located at the junction of the suction surface and the hub, another is located at the suction surface close to the casing position. At the outlet boundary, the low pressure is negative and decreases from−1716 Pa to−4589 Pa.The sound pressure level of the inlet and outlet noise tends to increase monotonously by 11.6 dB and 7.3 dB,respectively. The acoustic energy of discrete noise is always higher than that of broadband noise regardless of whether the inlet or outlet flow surfaces are considered. The acoustic energy ratio of discrete noise at the inlet tends to increase from 0.78 to 0.93,while at the outlet it first decreases from 0.79 to 0.73 and then increases to 0.84. | Lin Wang Chunguo An Nini Wang Yaming Ping Kun Wang Ming Gao Suoying He | 2020 | Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing2020,16,3: | 2
Bibliometrics and visual analysis for clinical research on intervention of traditional Chinese medicine nursing technology on rheumatoid arthritis显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study is to explore the current situation, clinical research hot spots, and trends of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing technology in rheumatoid arthritis(RA),to draw a panorama of clinical research,to provide the basis and clues for subsequent high-level evidence integration and further in-depth research.Materials and Methods:Seven databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Scientific Journal Database(VIP),Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(Sino-Med),PubMed,Embase,and the Cochrane Library were searched. The bibliometric method and visualization software CiteSpace were used to conduct a multi-dimensional analysis of the included literature. Results:A total of 805 pieces of literature were included(of them, one was written in German and four in English),and the number of published literature showed an increasing trend year by year. There were only 30(3.73%)pieces of literature published in nursing journals. The hot spots of the co-occurrence map were concentrated in:(1)the nursing of fumigation in RA;(2)the efficacy evaluation of TCM nursing technology on pain, joint malformation, and joint dysfunction caused by RA.The included literature themes focused on five TCM technologies:fumigation, moxibustion, acupoint patching, acupoint injection, and Chinese herbal soaking. The beginning year and strength in TCM fumigation were 2012 and 5.2,and those in moxibustion were 2011 and 3.38.Conclusion:The related studies are on the rise.It has entered the field of international readers with clear research hot spots. However, there are still shortcomings such as little literature published in Chinese nursing core journals, few non-Chinese-related documents, and a lack of international exchanges and cooperation. The current research hot spots in this field are TCM fumigation, and the cutting-edge trend of future research may be fumigation and moxibustion technology. It is suggested that further research can focus on evidence integration and original research on the self-optimization of these two techniques. | Ling TANG Jianni QU Hong GUO Mei WANG Nini XU Xiaoyan BAI Xueyan FAN Zhixuan XU Yihui TIAN Fen ZHOU | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Nursing2022,4,1: | 2
Effects of social capital, risk perception and awareness on environmental protection behavior显示文摘Introduction:Environmental protection is an essential issue for sustainable development, and its execution power mainly comes from individual environmental protection behavior. This study investigates the resident environmental protection behaviors and influencing factors in the ecologically fragile areas of western China based on a total of 1062 households by adopting the participatory assessment method. Then, this study used the structural equation model to empirically analyze the impact of social capital, environmental risk perception, and environmental awareness on residents’environmental protection behavior.Outcomes:The results showed that environmental awareness is the basis for practicing environmental protection behavior, consistent with the existing research;social capital has a significant impact on residents’environmental protection behavior, with an impact coefficient of 0.347.Hence,environmental risk perception has an indirect influence on environmental protection behavior through environmental awareness.Besides, compared with urban residents, rural residents’environmental awareness and social capital have a stronger role in environmental protection behavior. Conclusions:The study clarified the influence path of residents’environmental protection behavior, thus effectively providing a decision-making basis for the government to guide residents in the environmental governance system. | Fang Su Nini Song Haiyang Shang Jing Wang Bing Xue | 2021 | Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2021,7,1: | 1

NMR-based metabolomics pro!le analysis in understanding metabolic variations of Bra LTP1-overexpressing Brassica napus显示文摘BraLTP1 is an important member of lipid transfer protein family in Brassica napus. The aim of current study was to detect, classify and follow variations in metabolite profiling of B. napus with overexpression of BraLTP1. In this study, metabolic change in leaves of BraLTP1-overexpressing B. napus plants (BraLTP1-22) and negative control (BraLTP1-22N) was investigated using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Statistical strategy of principle component analysis (PCA) was performed to identify related difference metabolites. PCA score plots indicated not only high reproducibility of various treatments, but also significant difference of metabolite levels between different treatments. PCA loading plots indicated main responsible metabolites and a total of 50 metabolites were quantitatively determined. A wide range of metabolites were detected due to BraLTP1 overexpression, including biosynthesis and metabolism of sugars, amino acids, ammoniums compounds and organic acids. Furthermore, concentrations of 17 amino acids were determined for other set of samples by amino acids component analysis assay. The link between metabolite variations and phenotype were also discussed in BraLTP1-overexpressing B. napus. This work will help to gain insight into BraLTP1 function in B. napus in metabolism. | Nini Tian Pandi Wang Xiaojuan Xiong Ping Fu Gang Wu Fang Liu | 2018 | Oil Crop Science2018,3,1: | 0
Novel flavin-containing monooxygenase protein FMO1 interacts with CAT2 to negatively regulate drought tolerance through ROS homeostasis and ABA signaling pathway in tomato显示文摘Drought stress is themajor abiotic factor that can seriously affect plant growth and crop production. The functions of flavin-containing monooxygenases(FMOs)are known in animals. They addmolecular oxygen to lipophilic compounds or produce reactive oxygen species(ROS).However, little information on FMOs in plants is available. Here,we characterized a tomato drought-responsive gene that showed homology to FMO,and it was designated as FMO1.FMO1 was downregulated promptly by drought and ABA treatments.Transgenic functional analysis indicated that RNAi suppression of the expression of FMO1(FMO1-Ri)improved drought tolerance relative to wild-type(WT)plants,whereas overexpression of FMO1(FMO1-OE)reduced drought tolerance. The FMO1-Ri plants exhibited lower ABA accumulation, higher levels of antioxidant enzyme activities, and less ROS generation comparedwith theWTand FMO1-OE plants under drought stress.RNA-seq transcriptional analysis revealed the differential expression levels of many drought-responsive genes thatwere co-expressed with FMO1,including PP2Cs,PYLs,WRKY,and LEA.Using Y2H screening,we found that FMO1 physically interacted with catalase 2(CAT2),which is an antioxidant enzyme and confers drought resistance. Our findings suggest that tomato FMO1 negatively regulates tomato drought tolerance in the ABA-dependent pathway and modulates ROS homeostasis by directly binding to SlCAT2. | Lulu Wang Yinlian Zhou Yin Ding Chunrui Chen Xueting Chen Nini Su Xingguo Zhang Yu Pan Jinhua Li | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,4: | 0
CNEReg Interprets Ruminant-specific Conserved Non-coding Elements by Developmental Gene Regulatory Network显示文摘The genetic information coded in DNA leads to trait innovation via a gene regulatory network(GRN)in development. Here,we developed a conserved non-coding element interpretation method to integrate multi-omics data into gene regulatory network(CNEReg)to investigate the ruminant multi-chambered stomach innovation. We generated paired expression and chromatin accessibility data during rumen and esophagus development in sheep, and revealed 1601 active ruminantspecific conserved non-coding elements(active-RSCNEs).To interpret the function of these activeRSCNEs,we defined toolkit transcription factors(TTFs)and modeled their regulation on rumenspecific genes via batteries of active-RSCNEs during development. Our developmental GRN revealed 18 TTFs and 313 active-RSCNEs regulating 7 rumen functional modules.Notably,6 TTFs(OTX1,SOX21,HOXC8,SOX2,TP63,and PPARG),as well as 16 active-RSCNEs,functionally distinguished the rumen from the esophagus. Our study provides a systematic approach to understanding how gene regulation evolves and shapes complex traits by putting evo-devo concepts into practice with developmental multi-omics data. | Xiangyu Pan Zhaoxia Ma Xinqi Sun Hui Li Tingting Zhang Chen Zhao Nini Wang Rasmus Heller Wing Hung Wong Wen Wang Yu Jiang Yong Wang | 2023 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2023,21,3: | 0
A novel lytic phage potentially effective for phage therapy against Burkholderia pseudomallei in the tropics显示文摘Background:Burkholderia pseudomallei is a tropical pathogen that causes melioidosis. Its intrinsic drug-resistance is a leading cause of treatment failure, and the few available antibiotics require prolonged use to be effective. This study aimed to assess the clinical potential of B.pseudomallei phages isolated from Hainan,China. Methods:Burkholderia pseudomallei strain(HNBPoo1)was used as the isolation host, and phages were recovered from domestic environmental sources, which were submitted to the host range determination, lytic property assays, and stability tests. The best candidate was examined via the transmission electron microscope for classification. With its genome sequenced and analyzed, its protective efficacy against B.pseudomallei infection in A549 cells and Caenorhabditis elegans was evaluated,in which cell viability and survival rates were compared using the one-way ANOVA method and the log-rank test. Results:A phage able to lyse 24/25 clinical isolates was recovered. It was classified in the Podoviridae family and was found to be amenable to propagation.Under the optimal multiplicity of infection(MOl)of o.1,an eclipse period of around 20 min and a high titer(io12 PFU/ml)produced within 1 h were demonstrated. This phage was found stabile at a wide range of temperatures(24,37,40,50,and 60 C)and pH values(3-12).After being designated as vB_BpP_HN01,it was fully sequenced, and the 71,398 bp linear genome, containing 93 open reading frames and a tRNA-Asn,displayed a low sequence similarity with known viruses.Additionally, protective effects of applications of vB_BpP_HNo1(MOl=0.1 and MOl=1)alone or in combination with antibiotics were found to improve viability of infected cells(70.6±6.8%,85.8±5.7%,91.9±1.8%,and 96.8±1.8%,respectively).A significantly reduced mortality(10%)and a decreased pathogen load were demonstrated in infected C.elegans following the addition of this phage. Conclusions:As the frst B.pseudomallei phage was isolated in Hainan,China, phage vB_BpP_HNO1 was characterized by promising lytic property, stability, and effciency of bacterial elimination during the in vitro/vivo experiments. Therefore,we can conclude that it is a potential alternative agent for combating melioidosis. | Yanshuang Wang Xuemiao Li David A.B.Dance Han Xia Chen Chen Nini Luo Anyang Li Yanmei Li Qiao Zhu Qinghui Sun Xingyong Wu Yingfei Zeng Lin Chen Shen Tian Qianfeng Xia | 2022 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2022,11,4: | 0

Transferral of HMs pollution from road-deposited sediments to stormwater runoff during transport processes显示文摘Stormwater runoff derived from the wash-off of road-deposited sediments (RDS), contains elevated heavy metal (HM) concentrations and, thus, imposes an increasing threat to urban aquatic ecosystems. In-depth understanding of the variations of HMs pollution from RDS to stormwater during transport processes facilitates the development of effective RDS and stormwater control strategies. Toward this end, the distribution of HMs (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cr, and Ni) in RDS and stormwater were investigated simultaneously. The results show a preferential accumulation of Pb and Zn in the finer (< 38.5μm) RDS, and Cu, Cr and Ni in the coarser (38.5-150μm) RDS. For stormwater, n.d.~48.6% of HMs fractionated into the dissolved phase, and stormwater particles constitute the primary carriers of HMs. Furthennore, the accumulation of HMs in stormwater particles increased linearly with finer particle size distributions (PSD). Geoaccumulation index (Igeo) highlighted the predominant pollution of both RDS and stormwater particles by Cu, Pb and Zn. Nonetheless, Cu, Pb, and Ni mostly contributed the potential ecological risk of RDS, whereas Cu, Pb, and Zn mainly contributed that of stormwater particles. Moreover, contamination by Cu, Pb and Zn was significantly higher in stormwater particles than that in RDS. These differences are attributable to the solubility and size-dependent accumulation of HMs in RDS, as well as the PSD variations during transport processes. The study outcomes highlight the importance of very fine (nano- and submicron- scale) RDS in stormwater pollution and the necessity of control. | Qian Wang Qionghua Zhang Mawuli Dzakpasu Nini Chang Xiaochang Wang | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,1: | 0
LC-MS based secondary metabolic profile of BraLTP2 overexpressing Brassica napus显示文摘BraLTP2 is an important member of lipid transfer protein family, and its molecular biology function in Brassica napus(B. napus) had been explored by prerious study. However, affection of BraLTP2 on secondary metabolites is still not clear. In this study, we investigated difference of leaf secondary metabolite profiling between BraLTP2 overexpressing B. napus and wild type. Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS) was utilized. Wide range of secondary metabolites was found in BraLTP2 overexpressing plants. A total of 100 secondary metabolites were determined, 42 of which had significant differences, including flavonoids, phenylpropanoids and phenolamides. These results were in accordance with significant increasing trichomes of overexpressing BraLTP2 plants, which might produce and store secondary metabolites. Partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA) was performed to identify difference of secondary metabolites. PLS-DA score plots showed high reproducibility of each treatment. Significant changes were found between transformed and wild type. Permutation test validates the reliability rigorously. Furthermore, overexpressing of BraLTP2 led to seed germination improvement during the first 48 h under oxidation stress. Increased oxidation resistance of transgenic B. napus was in accordance with the significant variations of phenylpropanoids, phenylpropanoids and phenolamides. | Fang Liu Pandi Wang Nini Tian Xiaojuan Xiong Ping Fu Gang Wu | 2018 | Oil Crop Science2018,3,3: | 0
Genotypic Diversity Affects Age Structure of Tiller and Rhizome of Leymus chinensis Population,But Not Age Structure of Bud显示文摘The effect of genotypic diversity on the age structure and bud bank of the Leymus chinensis population has not yet been demonstrated. This experiment was designed to study the age structure of the tiller, rhizome, and bud of L.chinensis at genotypic diversity levels of 1,2,4,8,and 12.A total of 64 communities were established in this experiment, following the principle of randomized block experimental design. The results indicated that genotypic diversity had a significant or obviously significant effect on the cumulative length of rhizomes of 2a and 4a,dry matter accumulation of rhizomes of 1a and 2a,tiller number of 1a,tiller productivity of 3a,but had no significant effect age structure of buds.As the levels of genotypic diversity increased, the proportion of the cumulative length of rhizomes with 4a decreased and then increased, and dry matter accumulation of rhizomes with 1a and 2a gradually increased while the number of tillers with 1a gradually decreased, when the gradient of genotypic diversity increased. At the 1,2,4,8,and 12 genotype diversity levels, the number of tillers, the cumulative length of rhizomes, and dry matter accumulation in rhizomes and buds were all age structures of expanding type. However, tiller productivity was an expanding or stable age structure at levels of 1,2,4,8 genotypic diversity, while it was a declining age structure at the 12 genotype diversity gradient. An appropriate genotypic diversity is conducive to maintaining the growth and stability of the age structure of L.chinensis population, but too high a gradient of genotypic diversity can have a negative impact on the population age structure. This study provided that an appropriate number of genotypic diversity contributes to the stability of the population. | Chan Zhou Nini Xie Wenjun Rong Zhuo Zhang Linyou Lv Zhengwen Wang | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,11: | 0
