| 1 | Evaluation of Medium Components by Plackett-Burman Statistical Design for Lipase Production by Candida rugosa and Kinetic Modeling显示文摘Lipase production by Candida rugosa was carried out in submerged fermentation.Plackett-Burman statisticalexperimental design was applied to evaluate the fermentation medium components.The effect of twelve medium components was studied in sixteen experimental trials.Glucose,olive oil,peptone and FeCl3·6H2O were found to have more significance on lipase production by Candida rugosa.Maximum lipase activity of 3.8 u mL-1 was obtained at 50h of fermentation period.The fermentation was carried out at optimized temperature of 3℃,initial pH of 6.8 and shaking speed of 120 r/min.Unstructured kinetic models were used to simulate the experimental data.Logistic model,Luedeking-Piret model and modified Luedeking-Piret model were found suitable to efficiently predict the cell mass,lipase production and glucose consumption respectively with high determination coefficient(R2).From the estimated values of the Luedeking-Piret kinetic model parameters,α and β,it was found that the lipase production by Candida rugosa is growth associated. | Aravindan Rajendran Anbumathi Palanisamy Viruthagiri Thangavelu | 2008 | 生物工程学报2008,24,3: | 9 |
| 2 | Magnetic Fe_(2)O_(3)/biochar composite prepared in a molten salt medium for antibiotic removal in water显示文摘The large-scale use of antibiotics is causing serious water pollution problems,and it is of great significance to develop new technologies to remove antibiotics from water.As an environmentally friendly and economical adsorption material,carbon derived from biomass is a low-cost and feasible material for removing antibiotics in sewage,but the current removal efficiencies are not high enough for large-scale practical application.In this study,poplar wood chips are used as raw material,and a magnetic biochar is prepared by co-pyrolysis of poplar wood chips and FeCl_(3)/CaCl_(2)mixed molten salt.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),N_(2)-isothermal adsorption and desorption,X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)techniques showed the successful synthesis of Fe_(2)O_(3)/bioC composite.In-situ formed Fe_(2)O_(3)makes the biochar possess the characteristic of superparamagnetic,which is conducive to the recycling of biochar.Due to the etching effect of the molten salts,rough surface was formed on Fe_(2)O_(3)/bioC,result-ing in a maximum norfloxacin(NOR)adsorption ability up to 38.77 mg g^(−1)at pH 6.0.The NOR adsorption behavior on Fe_(2)O_(3)/bioC followed the pseudo second order kinetic model and the equilibrium data was best fitted the Langmuir model.In addition,the adsorption process of NOR on Fe_(2)O_(3)/bioC was thermodynamically spontaneous.The results show that this low-cost and reusable magnetic biochar has the potential for rapid and efficient removal of antibiotic from aqueous solution. | Huagen Liang Chenxi Zhu Shan Ji Palanisamy Kannan Fu Chen | 2022 | Biochar2022,4,1: | 4 |
| 3 | Single vs dual(en bloc) kidney transplants from donors ≤ 5 years of age: A single center experience显示文摘AIM: To compare outcomes between single and dual en bloc(EB) kidney transplants(KT) from small pediatric donors. METHODS: Monocentric nonprospective review of KTs from pediatric donors ≤ 5 years of age. Dual EB KT was defined as keeping both donor kidneys attached tothe inferior vena cava and aorta, which were then used as venous and arterial conduits for the subsequent transplant into a single recipient. Donor age was less useful than either donor weight or kidney size in decision-making for kidney utilization as kidneys from donors < 8 kg or kidneys < 6 cm in length were not transplanted. Post-transplant management strategies were standardized in all patients.RESULTS: From 2002-2015, 59 KTs were performed including 34 dual EB and 25 single KTs. Mean age of donors(17 mo vs 38 mo, P < 0.001), mean weight(11.0 kg vs 17.4 kg, P = 0.046) and male donors(50% vs 84%, P = 0.01) were lower in the dual EB compared to the single KT group, respectively. Mean cold ischemia time(21 h), kidney donor profile index(KDPI; 73% vs 62%) and levels of serum creatinine(SCr, 0.37 mg/d L vs 0.49 mg/d L, all P = NS) were comparable in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively. Actuarial graft and patient survival rates at 5-years follow-up were comparable. There was one case of thrombosis resulting in graft loss in each group. Delayed graft function incidence(12% dual EB vs 20% single KT, P = NS) was slightly lower in dual EB KT recipients. Initial duration of hospital stay(mean 5.4 d vs 5.6 d) and the one-year incidences of acute rejection(6% vs 16%), operative complications(3% vs 4%), and major infection were comparable in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively(all P = NS). Mean 12 mo SCr and abbreviated MDRD levels were 1.17 mg/d L vs 1.35 mg/d L and 72.5 m L/min per 1.73 m^2 vs 60.5 m L/min per 1.73 m^2(both P = NS) in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively. | 4 | Approximate Controllability of Second-Order Neutral Stochastic Differential Equations with Infinite Delay and Poisson Jumps显示文摘The modelling of risky asset by stochastic processes with continuous paths, based on Brownian motions, suffers from several defects. First, the path continuity assumption does not seem reasonable in view of the possibility of sudden price variations(jumps) resulting of market crashes. A solution is to use stochastic processes with jumps, that will account for sudden variations of the asset prices. On the other hand, such jump models are generally based on the Poisson random measure. Many popular economic and financial models described by stochastic differential equations with Poisson jumps. This paper deals with the approximate controllability of a class of second-order neutral stochastic differential equations with infinite delay and Poisson jumps. By using the cosine family of operators, stochastic analysis techniques, a new set of sufficient conditions are derived for the approximate controllability of the above control system.
