| 2 | Microstructure, Mechanical Properties, Corrosion Behavior and Biocompatibility of As-Extruded Biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn Alloy显示文摘The microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of biodegradable Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were investigated by the optical microscopy, X-ray diffractometer and a universal material testing machine.The corrosion and degradation behaviors were studied by potentiodynamic polarization method and immersion test in a simulated body fluid(SBF). It was found that the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy has the fine equiaxed grains which underwent complete dynamic recrystallization during the hot extrusion process, with the second phase particles of Mg_2Sn precipitated on the grain boundaries and inside the grains. The tensile strength and elongation of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloys were 244 ± 3.7 MPa and 19.3% ± 1.7%, respectively. The potentiodynamic polarization curves in SBF solution indicated the better corrosion resistance of the as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy in the SBF solution. Immersion test in the SBF solution for 720 h revealed that the corrosion rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was nearly 4 ± 0.33 mm/year. The hemolysis rate of as-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy was lower than the safe value of 5% according to ISO 10993-4. As-extruded Mg–3Sn–1Zn–0.5Mn alloy showed good biocompatibility after being implanted into the dorsal muscle and the femoral shaft of the rabbit, and no abnormalities were found after short-term implantation. | 4 | In vitro degradation and biocompatibility evaluation of typical biodegradable metals (Mg/Zn/Fe) for the application of tracheobronchial stenosis显示文摘Tracheobronchial obstruction in children due to benign stenosis or tracheobronchomalacia still remains a challenging matter of concern.Currently,there is 10%–20%complication rate in clinical treatment.The nonbiodegradable property of silicone stents and nickel-titanium memory alloy stents take the primary responsibility for drawbacks including stimulating local granulation tissue proliferation,displacement,and stent-related infections.Permanent tracheobronchial stent will be a persistent foreign object for a long time,causing excessive secretion of tracheal mucosa,ulceration and even perforation,which is particularly unsuitable for young children with persistent tracheal growth.In this study,the degradation and biocompatibility performance of three typical biodegradable metals were investigated as potential tracheobronchial stent materials.The results exhibited that these materials showed different degradation behaviors in the simulating respiratory fluid environment compared with SBF.Except for pure iron group,high purity magnesium and zinc showed favorable cell adhesion and proliferation in three culture methodologies(direct culture,indirect culture and extraction culture).The proper corrosion rate and good biocompatibility indicated that high purity magnesium and zinc may be good candidates as tracheobronchial stent materials. | Yangyang Li Jianglong Yan Wenhao Zhou Pan Xiong Pei Wang Wei Yuan Yufeng Zheng Yan Cheng | 2019 | Bioactive Materials2019,4,1: | 8 |

To understand how nervous systems control behavior, neural circuits mediating distinct functions need to be identified and characterized. With superior genetic manipulability, Drosophila is a model organism at the leading edge of neural circuit analysis. We briefly introduce the state-of-the-art genetic tools that permit precise labeling of neurons and their interconnectivity and investigating what is happening in the brain of a behaving animal and manipulating neurons to determine how behaviors are affected. Brain-wide wiring diagrams, created by light and electron microscopy, bring neural circuit analysis to a new level and scale. | 7 | In vitro and in vivo studies on biodegradable magnesium alloy显示文摘The microstructure, mechanical property, electrochemical behavior and biocompatibility of magnesium alloy(Bio De MSM^(TM)) were studied in the present work. The experimental results demonstrated that grain refining induced by extrusion improves the alloy strength significantly from162 MPa for the as-cast alloy to 241 MPa for the as-extruded one. The anticorrosion properties of the as-extruded alloy also increased.Furthermore, the hemolysis ratio was decreased from 4.7% for the as-cast alloy to 2.9% for the as-extruded one, both below 5%. Bio De MSM^(TM)alloy shows good biocompatibility after being implanted into the dorsal muscle and the femoral shaft of the New Zealand rabbit, respectively, and there are no abnormalities after short-term implantation. | 8 | Hierarchical Control of Drosophila Sleep, Courtship, and Feeding Behaviors by Male-Specific P1 Neurons显示文摘Animals choose among sleep, courtship, and feeding behaviors based on the integration of both external sensory cues and internal states; such choices are essential for survival and reproduction. These competing behaviors are closely related and controlled by distinct neural circuits, but whether they are also regulated by shared neural nodes is unclear. Here, we investigated how a set of male-specific P1 neurons controls sleep, courtship, and feeding behaviors in Drosophila males. We found that mild activation of P1 neurons was sufficient to affect sleep, but not courtship or feeding, while stronger activation of P1 neurons labeled by four out of five independent drivers induced courtship, but only the driver that targeted the largest number of P1 neurons affected feeding. | 11 | BDS satellite clock offset prediction based on a semiparametric adjustment model considering model errors显示文摘In view of the influence of model errors in conventional BeiDou prediction models for clock offsets,a semiparametric adjustment model for BeiDou Navigation Satellite System(BDS)clock offset prediction that considers model errors is proposed in this paper.First,the model errors of the conventional BeiDou clock offset prediction model are analyzed.Additionally,the relationship among the polynomial model,polynomial model with additional periodic term correction,and its periodic correction terms is explored in detail.Second,considering the model errors,combined with the physical relationship between phase,frequency,frequency drift,and its period in the clock sequence,the conventional clock offset prediction model is improved.Using kernel estimation and comprehensive least squares,the corresponding parameter solutions of the prediction model and the estimation of its model error are derived,and the dynamic error correction of the clock sequence model is realized.Finally,the BDS satellite precision clock data provided by the IGS Center of Wuhan University with a sampling interval of 5 min are used to compare the proposed prediction method with commonly used methods.Experimental results show that the proposed prediction method can better correct the model errors of BDS satellite clock offsets,and it can effectively overcome the inaccuracies of clock offset correction.The average forecast accuracies of the BeiDou satellites at 6,12,and 24 h are 27.13%,37.71%,and 45.08%higher than those of the conventional BeiDou clock offset forecast models;the average model improvement rates are 16.92%,20.96%,and 28.48%,respectively.In addition,the proposed method enhances the existing BDS satellite prediction method for clock offsets to a certain extent. | Xiong Yan Wentao Li Yufeng Yang Xiong Pan | 2020 | Satellite Navigation2020,1,1: | 2 |
| 12 | Responses of the Sea Surface Temperature and Suspended Matter Concentration to ENSO Events in the Bohai Sea显示文摘The sea surface temperature(SST)and sea surface suspended matter concentration data in the Bohai Sea were collected by multiple NOAA satellites from 1985 to 2018.The background calibration method was used to correct the systematic errors caused by the long-term observations through multiple NOAA satellites in this paper.Then,we studied the long-term variations of the sea surface temperature(SST)and sea surface suspended matter concentration(SSC)and their response to ENSO events in the Bohai Sea.Our results show that the SST and SSC of the Bohai Sea have been increasing since 1985,with an average rate of 0.04℃per year for SST,which is higher than the global average.The average increasing rate of SSC was 0.51 mg L^(-1)yr^(-1),which may be mainly due to the enhancement of winter monsoon in the Bohai.In winter,the SST and SSC of the Bohai Sea were higher in El Niño years than in La Niña years.In El Niño years,the ocean circulations were the main factor affecting the variation in SST.The robust circulation system caused by the strong winter monsoon enhances the water exchange between the cold water of the Bohai Sea and the warm water of the Yellow Sea,resulting in a higher SST in La Niña years.In summer,the SSTs of the Bohai Sea were lower in El Niño years than those in the La Niña years because of the decrease of the SST in the Western Pacific Ocean,the weakening of the subtropical high in the western Pacific,and its eastward shift caused by the El Niño events. | LIU Xue DING Dong LI Guangxue ZHANG Yang LIU Shidong WANG Nan ZHONG Yi YANG Xue PAN Yufeng YU Di ZHANG Lei XUE Wenjing | 2023 | Journal of Ocean University of China2023,22,3: | 1 |
| 13 | Automatic video mosaicking algorithm via dynamic key-frame显示文摘Automatic video mosaicking is a challenging task in computer vision. Current researches consider either panoramic or mapping tasks on short videos. In this paper, an automatic mosaicking algorithm is proposed for both mapping and panoramic tasks based on the adapted key-frame on videos of any length.The speeded up robust features(SURF) and the grid motion statistic(GMS) algorithm are used for feature extraction and matching between consecutive frames, which are used to compute the transformation. In order to reduce the influence of the accumulated error during image stitching, an evaluation metric is put forward for the transformation matrix. Besides, a self-growth method is employed to stitch the global image for long videos. The algorithm is evaluated by using aerial-view and panoramic videos respectively on the graphic processing unit(GPU) device, which can satisfy the real-time requirement. | 14 | Multi-Object Tracking with Micro Aerial Vehicle显示文摘A simple yet efficient tracking framework is proposed for real-time multi-object tracking with micro aerial vehicles(MAVs). It's basic missions for MAVs to detect specific targets and then track them automatically. In our method, candidate regions are generated using the salient detection in each frame and then classified by an eural network. A kernelized correlation filter(KCF) is employed to track each target until it disappears or the peak-sidelobe ratio is lower than a threshold. Besides, we define the birth and death of each tracker for the targets. The tracker is recycled if its target disappears and can be assigned to a new target. The algorithm is evaluated on the PAFISS and UAV123 datasets. | 15 | Experimental Study on Performance of a Closed Wet Cooling Tower for Air Wet-Bulb Temperature near 0°C显示文摘Closed wet cooling towers(CWCTs) are used widely because of their better water quality and smaller water consumption. However, the operating parameters shown in the technical documents are only for rated conditions in summer, not for any other conditions, especially in low air wet-bulb temperature areas such as those near 0℃. In addition, CWCTs often fail to achieve the designed cooling effect at low air wet-bulb temperatures. A experiment set of CWCT was built, and the performance of the CWCT at low air wet-bulb temperature near 0℃ was investigated. The impact of the operating parameters(air flow rate, cooling water flow rate, and spray water flow rate) on the heat and mass transfer performance of the CWCT was measured and analyzed. The results show the cooling performance of the CWCT at an air wet-bulb temperature 0℃, 2℃, and 4℃ is about 47%–63% of the rated operating condition;the optimal operating parameters of these conditions for the CWCT are just the same as those of the rated operating condition in summer. | 19 | Polyetheretherketone with citrate potentiated influx of copper boosts osteogenesis,angiogenesis,and bacteria-triggered antibacterial abilities显示文摘A well designed coating for polyetheretherketone(PEEK)implants can provide enough support to overcome crucial medical challenges,which are insufficient osseointegration and high rate of infection.Herein,we utilize the co-deposition of polydopamine(PDA)and copper-citrate nanoclusters to construct a p H-responsive coating on porous PEEK for synergistic bone regeneration,vascular formation and anti-infection.Specifically,this PDA coating released high dose of copper and citrate at lower p H value,which increased intracellular copper content,boosted production of reactive oxygen species and severe damage of protein,leading to killing of 93%planktonic bacterial and eradication of adherent bacteria.At p H of 7.4,the release of copper and citrate were in a slow and sustained behavior,synergistically enhanced vascular formation potential and osteodiffereration of Ad-MSC in vitro.After implanted in rabbit tibia for 6 and 12 weeks,the micro-CT evaluation and histological analysis consistently highlighted the ability of this PDA coating to increase new bone formation adjacent to coated PEEK implant and enhance bone-implant interfacial integration.These results were proven to be related to the synergistic effect that citrate facilitated a 2-fold influx of copper into cells,which not only enhanced the bacteria-killing ability but also encouraged bone regeneration of implants.This present work provides an effective method to control infections while promoting osseointegration simultaneously,which will show tremendous clinical application and can be a solution to current challenges facing orthopedics. | Jianglong Yan Dandan Xiab Pan Xionga Yangyang Li Wenhao Zhou Qiyao Li Pei Wang Yufeng Zheng Yan Cheng | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,12: | 1 |
