1High-resolution Surface Relative Humidity Computation Using MODIS Image in Peninsular Malaysia显示文摘Forest fire is a serious disaster all over the world. The Fire Weather Index (FWI) System can be used in ap- plied forestry as a tool to investigate and manage all types of fire. Relative humidity (RH) is a very important parameter to calculate FWI. However, RH interpolated from meteorological data may not be able to provide precise and confident values for areas between far separated stations. The principal objective of this study is to provide high-resolution RH for FWI using MODIS data. The precipitable water vapor (PW) can be retrieved from MODIS using split window tech- niques. Four-year-time-series (2000-2003) of 8-day mean PW and specific humidity (Q) of Peninsular Malaysia were analyzed and the statistic expression between PW and Q was developed. The root-mean-square-error (RMSE) of Q es- timated by PW is generally less than 0.0004 and the correlation coefficient is 0.90. Based on the experiential formula between PW and Q, surface RH can be computed with combination of auxiliary data such as DEM and air temperature (Ta). The mean absolute errors of the estimated RH in Peninsular Malaysia are less than 5% compared to the measured RH and the correlation coefficient is 0.8219. 2Remote Sensing Monitoring of Tobacco Field Based on Phenological Characteristics and Time Series Image―A Case Study of Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province, China显示文摘Using three-phase remote sensing images of China-Brazil Earth Resources Satellite 02B (CBERS02B) and Landsat-5 TM, tobacco field was extracted by the analysis of time series image based on the different phenological characteristics between tobacco and other crops. The spectral characteristics of tobacco and corn in luxuriant growth stage are very similar, which makes them difficult to be distinguished using a single-phase remote sensing image. Field film after tobacco seedlings transplanting can be used as significant sign to identify tobacco. Remote sensing interpre- tation map based on the fusion image of TM and CBERS02B's High-Resolution (HR) camera image was used as stan- dard reference material to evaluate the classification accuracy of Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) and Maximum Like- lihood Classifier (MLC) for time series image based on full samples test method. SAM has higher classification accu- racy and stability than MLC in dealing with time series image. 3Properties of color-flavor locked strange quark matter and strange stars in a new quark mass scaling显示文摘Considering the effect of one-gluon-exchange interaction between quarks,the color-flavor locked strange quark matter and strange stars are investigated in a new quark mass density-dependent model.It is found that the color-flavor locked strange quark matter can be more stable if the one-gluon-exchange effect is included.The lower density behavior of the sound velocity in this model is different from the previous results.Moreover,the new equation of state leads to a heavier acceptable maximum mass,supporting the recent observation of a compact star mass as large as about 2 times the solar mass.CHANG Qian CHEN ShiWu PENG GuangXiong XU JianFeng 2013Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2013,56,9:3
4Properties of strangelets in a new quark mass confinement model with one-gluon-exchange interaction显示文摘The properties of strangelets at zero temperature with a new quark model that includes both the confinement and one-gluonexchange interactions is studied in a fully self-consistent method.The charge and parameter dependence of the stability of strangelets are discussed.It is found that the one-gluon-exchange interaction lowers the energy of a strangelet,and consequently allows the strangelet to be absolutely stable.The stable strangelet radius in the present model is smaller in comparison with the absence of one-gluon-exchange interaction,and can thus be much less than that of a normal nucleus with the same baryon number,according to the strength of the confinement and one-gluon-exchange interactions.XIA ChengJun CHEN ShiWu PENG GuangXiong 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,7:2

6Density isomer of nuclear matter in an equivalent mass approach显示文摘The equation of state of symmetric nuclear matter is studied with an equivalent mass model.The equivalent mass of a nucleon has been expanded to order 4 in density.We first determine the first-order expansion coefficient in the quantum hadron dynamics,then calculate the coefficients of the second to fourth order for the given binding energy and incompressibility at the normal nuclear saturation density.It is found that there appears a density isomeric state if the incompressibility is smaller than a critical value.The model dependence of the conclusion has also been checked by varying the first-order coefficient.GAO Li 2LU Zhenyan PENG Guangxiong 2013Nuclear Science and Techniques2013,24,5:0
