1Interpretation of breast cancer screening guideline for Chinese women显示文摘Breast cancer is the most common malignant tumor in Chinese women.Early screening is the best way to improve the rates of early diagnosis and survival of breast cancer patients.The peak onset age for breast cancer in Chinese women is considerably younger than those in European and American women.It is imperative to develop breast cancer screening guideline that is suitable for Chinese women.By summarizing the current evidence on breast cancer screening in Chinese women,and referring to the latest guidelines and consensus on breast cancer screening in Europe,the United States,and East Asia,the China Anti-Cancer Association and National Clinical Research Center for Cancer(Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital)have formulated population-based guideline for breast cancer screening in Chinese women.The guideline provides recommendations on breast cancer screening for Chinese women at average or high risk of breast cancer according to the following three aspects:age of screening,screening methods,and screening interval.This article provides more detailed information to support the recommendations in this guideline and to provide more direction for current breast cancer screening practices in China.Yubei Huang Zhongsheng Tong Kexin Chen Ying Wang Peifang Liu Lin Gu Juntian Liu Jinpu Yu Fengju Song Wenhua Zhao Yehui Shi Hui Li Huaiyuan Xiao Xishan Hao 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,4:10
2Ecological principle meets cancer treatment: treating children with acute myeloid leukemia with low-dose chemotherapy显示文摘Standard chemotherapy regimens for remission induction of pediatric acute myeloid leukemia(AML) are associated with significant morbidity and mortality. We performed a cohort study to determine the impact of reducing the intensity of remission induction chemotherapy on the outcomes of selected children with AML treated with a low-dose induction regimen plus granulocyte colony stimulating factor(G-CSF)(low-dose chemotherapy(LDC)/G-CSF). Complete response(CR) after two induction courses was attained in 87.0%(40/46) of patients receiving LDC/G-CSF. Post-remission therapy was offered to all patients, and included standard consolidation and/or stem cell transplantation. During the study period, an additional 94 consecutive children with AML treated with standard chemotherapy(SDC) for induction(80/94(85.1%) of the patients attained CR after induction Ⅱ, P = 0.953) and post-remission. In this non-randomized study, there were no significant differences in 4-year event-free(67.4 vs. 70.7%;P = 0.99)and overall(70.3 vs. 74.6%, P = 0.69) survival in the LDC/G-CSF and SDC cohorts, respectively. After the first course of induction, recovery of white blood cell(WBC) and platelet counts were significantly faster in patients receiving LDC/G-CSF than in those receiving SDC(11.5 vs. 18.5 d for WBCs(P < 0.001);15.5 vs. 22.0 d for platelets(P < 0.001)). To examine the quality of molecular response, targeted deep sequencing was performed. Of 137 mutations detected at diagnosis in 20 children who attained hematological CR after two courses of LDC/G-CSF(n = 9) or SDC(n = 11), all of the mutations were below the reference value(variant allelic frequency <2.5%) after two courses, irrespective of the treatment group. In conclusion, children with AML receiving LDC/G-CSF appear to have similar outcomes and mutation clearance levels, but significantly lower toxicity than those receiving SDC. 3Facile self-template fabrication of hierarchical nickel-cobalt phosphide hollow nanoflowers with enhanced hydrogen generation performance显示文摘Developing facile methods to construct hierarchical-structured transition metal phosphides is beneficial for achieving high-efficiency hydrogen evolution catalysts.Herein,a self-template strategy of hydrothermal treatment of solid Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres followed by phosphorization is delivered to synthesize hierarchical Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers with ultrathin nanosheet assembly.The microstructure of Ni Co P can be availably tailored by adjusting the hydrothermal treatment temperature through affecting the hydrolysis process of Ni-Co glycerate nanospheres and the occurred Kirkendall effect.Benefitting from the promoted exposure of active sites and affluent mass diffusion routes,the HER performance of the Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers has been obviously enhanced in contrast with the solid Ni Co P nanospheres.The fabricated Ni Co P hollow nanoflowers yield the current density of 10 m A cmà2at small overpotentials of 95 and 127 m V in 0.5 mol Là1H2SO4and 1.0 mol Là1KOH solution,respectively.Moreover,the two-electrode alkaline cell assembled with the Ni Co P and Ir/C catalysts exhibits sustainable stability for overall water splitting.The work provides a simple but efficient method to regulate the microstructure of transition metal phosphides,which is helpful for achieving high-performance hydrogen evolution catalysts based on solid-state metal alkoxides.Xupo Liu Shaofeng Deng Peifang Liu Jianing Liang Mingxing Gong Chenglong Lai Yun Lu Tonghui Zhao Deli Wang 2019Science Bulletin2019,64,22:2
4Injectable melatonin-loaded carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)-based hydrogel accelerates wound healing by reducing inflammation and promoting angiogenesis and collagen deposition显示文摘Carboxymethyl chitosan(CMCS)-based hydrogels have antibacterial activity,and have shown the abilities of preventing wound infection,promoting cell proliferation,accelerating collagen deposition,and stimulating hyaluronic acid formation during wound healing.As a hormone produced by the pineal gland in humans and animals,melatonin promotes skin wound healing by regulating the release of inflammatory mediators and accelerating the proliferation and migration of cells,angiogenesis,and collagen deposition.However,the combined effects of CMCS and melatonin on wound healing remain unclear.Injectable CMCS-based hydrogels containing melatonin were prepared,and their healing effects were evaluated using a full-thickness cutaneous wound model in rats.Compared with the control and the hydrogel with no melatonin groups,the melatonin-loaded hydrogel significantly increased the percentage of wound closure,promoted the proliferation of granulation tissue and re-epithelialization,and accelerated collagen deposition.Additionally,the melatonin-loaded hydrogel promoted angiogenesis and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor protein expression and increased the expression of cyclooxygenase-2 and inducible nitric oxide synthase.The melatonin-loaded hydrogel also markedly increased the expression of collagen III,α-smooth muscle actin,and transforming growth factor-β1 proteins and reduced collagen I expression.These results suggest that the melatonin-loaded hydrogel promoted granulation tissue formation and accelerated wound healing by reducing inflammation and promoting angiogenesis and collagen deposition.Kai Chen Changci Tong Jinge Yang Peifang Cong Ying Liu Xiuyun Shi Xu Liu Jun Zhang Rufei Zou Keshen Xiao Yuyang Ni Lei Xu Mingxiao Hou Hongxu Jin Yunen Liu 2021Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,4:2

9Role of intestinal probiotics in the modulation of lipid metabolism:implications for therapeutic treatments显示文摘Currently, accumulating pieces of evidence indicate that probiotics, living in the gastrointestinal tract, play an important role in regulating host metabolism. As a tool, probiotics have great potential for treating lipid metabolism diseases. However, the relationship between probiotics and abnormal lipid metabolism is still unclear, and the mechanism of action has been become a focus of microbiome research. Therefore, taking intestinal probiotics as the starting point, this article combs the relationship between probiotics and lipid metabolism. Moreover, we discuss the underlying mechanisms of intestinal probiotics regulating lipid metabolism and summarize the therapeutic strategies for abnormal lipids metabolism. This article provides a reference for the further utilization of probiotics in the field of functional foods(food industry). 13Biomimetic inorganic-organic hybrid nanoparticles from magnesium-substituted amorphous calcium phosphate clusters and polyacrylic acid molecules显示文摘Amorphous calcium phosphate(ACP)has been widely found during bone and tooth biomineralization,but the meta-stability and labile nature limit further biomedical applications.The present study found that the chelation of polyacrylic acid(PAA)molecules with Ca^(2+)ions in Mg-ACP clusters(~2.1±0.5 nm)using a biomineralization strategy produced inorganic-organic Mg-ACP/PAA hybrid nanoparticles with better thermal stability.Mg-ACP/PAA hybrid nanoparticles(~24.0±4.8 nm)were pH-responsive and could be efficiently digested under weak acidic conditions(pH 5.0-5.5).The internalization of assembled Mg-ACP/PAA nanoparticles by MC3T3-E1 cells occurred through endocytosis,indicated by laser scanning confocal microscopy and cryo-soft X-ray tomography.Our results showed that cellular lipid membranes remained intact without pore formation after Mg-ACP/PAA particle penetration.The assembled Mg-ACP/PAA particles could be digested in cell lysosomes within 24 h under weak acidic conditions,thereby indicating the potential to efficiently deliver encapsulated functional molecules.Both the in vitro and in vivo results preliminarily demonstrated good biosafety of the inorganic-organic Mg-ACP/PAA hybrid nanoparticles,which may have potential for biomedical applications.Na Li Wei Cui Peifang Cong Jie Tang Yong Guan Caihao Huang Yunen Liu Chengzhong Yu Rui Yang Xing Zhang 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,8:1
14Accurate Assessment and Tracking the Process of Liver-Specific Injury by the Residual Tissue Activity of Carboxylesterase 1 and Dipeptidyl Peptidase 4显示文摘Accurately assessing and tracking the progression of liver-specific injury remains a major challenge in the field of biomarker research.Here,we took a retrospective validation approach built on the mutuality between serum and tissue biomarkers to characterize the liver-specific damage of bile duct cells caused by a-naphthyl isothiocyanate(ANIT).We found that carboxylesterase 1(CES1),as an intrahepatic marker,and dipeptidyl peptidase 4(DPP-IV),as an extrahepatic marker,can reflect the different pathophysiologies of liver injury.Levels of CES1 and DPP-IV can be used to identify liver damage itself and the inflammatory state,respectively.While the levels of the conventional serological biomarkers alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and aspartate aminotransferase(AST)were all concomitantly elevated in serum and tissues after ANIT-induced injury,the levels of bile acids decreased in bile,increased in serum,and ascended in intrahepatic tissue.Although the level of γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GT)changed in an opposite direction,the duration was much shorter than that of CES1 and was quickly restored to normal levels.Therefore,among the abovementioned biomarkers,only CES1 made it possible to specifically determine whether the liver cells were destroyed or damaged without interference from inflammation.CES1 also enabled accurate assessment of the anti-cholestasis effects of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA;single component)and Qing Fei Pai Du Decoction(QFPDD;multicomponent).We found that both QFPDD and UDCA attenuated ANIT-induced liver damage.UDCA was more potent in promoting bile excretion but showed relatively weaker anti-injury and antiinflammatory effects than QFPDD,whereas QFPDD was more effective in blocking liver inflammation and repairing liver damage.Our data highlights the potential of the combined use of CES1(as an intrahepatic marker of liver damage)and DPP-IV(as an extrahepatic marker of inflammation)for the accurate evaluation and tracking of liver-specific injury—an application that allows for the differentiation of liver damage and inflammatory liver injury.Qiusha Pan Peifang Song Zhenhua Ni Xingkai Qian Anqi Wang Liwei Zou Yong Liu Ping Wang Weidong Zhang Hong Ma Ling Yang 2022Engineering2022,,12:0

16Effects of Colchicine on Callus Induction and Differentiation of Erianthus arundinaceus显示文摘Erianthus arundinaceum,a related species of the most important sugar crop Saccharum,and is an essential gene resource for stress and disease resistance in sugarcane breeding. Colchicine is the most common and effective chemical inducer in polyploid breeding at present. To detect the effects of colchicine on callus induction and shoot regeneration,E. arundinaceus‘Yun 83-183',with the chromosome of 2 n = 60,was used as the material for studying the effect of different concentrations of 2,4-D and colchicine,treatment time and culture methods on callus induction and shoot regeneration. The results indicated,when the callus was cultured for 7 d in solid medium with 0. 07% colchicine or 0. 5 d in liquid medium with 0. 05% colchicine,callus had no ability of shoot regeneration,which meant that in liquid culture,colchicine had not only high inhibitory effect on callus,but also lower concentration and shorter treatment time than solid culture;when the concentration of colchicine was 0. 03% and callus was cultured for 7 d in solid medium or 0. 5 d in liquid medium,the resistant callus rate and resistant bud rate were the highest,although the resistant callus rates were all about 88. 00% and had no significant difference between solid culture and liquid culture,the resistance bud rate was only 6. 00% in liquid culture,16. 22% lower than in solid culture,which meant that solid culture was more effective than liquid culture at the same colchicine concentration. For E. arundinaceus ‘Yun 83-183',the best concentration of 2,4-D was 2 mg/L,the best concentration of colchicine was 0. 03%,and the best effect of callus induction and shoot regeneration was achieved within 7 d of solid culture. 17Diagnostic Value of CT Colonography in Colorectal Carcinoma显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the value of CT colonography (CTC) in diagnosis and preoperative staging of colorectal carcinoma. METHODS CTC was performed on 33 patients who were suspected of having colorectal carcinoma. The results of CTC were compared with those of a pathological examination. RESULTS Among the 22 patients who were diagnosed with colorectal carcinoma by CTC, 20 cases were confirmed by pathology. The diagnostic sensitivity and specificity were 100% (20/20) and 84.6% (11/13) respec- tively. The accuracy of showing carcinoma pathologic patterns was 90% (18/20). The sensitivity and specificity were both 100% in the mass type; 77.8% and 100% in the infiltrating type; 100% and 85.7% in the ulcerated type. The accuracy of staging Dukes' carcinoma was 75%. The sensitiv- ity and specificity were 100% and 94.1% for Dukes'A; 80% and 73.3% for Dukes' B; 60% and 100% in Dukes' C; 71.4% and 100% for Dukes' D. 19Certain Early Changes after Gun-shot Wound of a Hind-leg in Pigs显示文摘After gun-shot wound with high velocity steel-ball pellet was inflicted of one hind limb ofthe pigs, the changes of hemodynamics, blood gases, chest x-ray films, serum T3 and T4,fibronectin, protein content of lung lavage, lung weight, etc were observed within the 72-hour-peri-od postinjury or when the animal was killed or died 72 h postinjury. The pathological changes wereexamined as soon as possible with both optic and electron microscope. Changes of the above-men-tioned parameters in different intensity were found especially in those animals which diedspontaneously. 20Development and evaluation of the screening performance of a low-cost high-risk screening strategy for breast cancer显示文摘Objective:To develop and evaluate the screening performance of a low-cost high-risk screening strategy for breast cancer in low resource areas.Methods:Based on the Multi-modality Independent Screening Trial,6 questionnaire-based risk factors of breast cancer(age at menarche,age at menopause,age at first live birth,oral contraceptive,obesity,family history of breast cancer)were used to determine the women with high risk of breast cancer.The screening performance of clinical breast examination(CBE),breast ultrasonography(BUS),and mammography(MAM)were calculated and compared to determine the optimal screening method for these high risk women.Results:A total of 94 breast cancers were detected among 31,720 asymptomatic Chinese women aged 45–65 years.Due to significantly higher detection rates(DRs)and suitable coverage of the population,high risk women were defined as those with any of 6 risk factors.Among high risk women,the DR for BUS[3.09/1,000(33/10,694)]was similar to that for MAM[3.18/1,000(34/10,696)],while it was significantly higher than that for the CBE[1.73/1,000(19/10,959),P=0.002].Compared with MAM,BUS showed significantly higher specificity[98.64%(10,501/10,646)vs.98.06%(10,443/10,650),P=0.001],but no significant differences in sensitivity[68.75%(33/48)vs.73.91%(34/46)],positive prediction values[18.54%(33/178)vs.14.11%(34/241)],and negative prediction values[99.86%(10,501/10,516)vs.99.89%(10,443/10,455)].Further analyses showed no significant difference in the percentages of early stage breast cancer[53.57%(15/28)vs.50.00%(15/30)],lymph node involvement[22.73%(5/22)vs.28.00%(7/25)],and tumor size≥2 cm[37.04%(10/27)vs.29.03%(9/31)]between BUS and MAM.Subgroup analyses stratified by breast densities or age at enrollment showed similar results.Conclusions:The low-cost high-risk screening strategy based on 6 questionnaire-based risk factors was an easy-to-use method to identify women with high risk of breast cancer.Moreover,BUS and MAM had comparable screening performances among high risk women.Yubei Huang Huan Wang Zhangyan Lyu Hongji Dai Peifang Liu Ying Zhu Fengju Song Kexin Chen 2022Cancer Biology & Medicine2022,19,9:0
