| 1 | BMAL1 knockout macaque monkeys display reduced sleep and psychiatric disorders显示文摘Circadian disruption is a risk factor for metabolic, psychiatric and age-related disorders, and non-human primate models could help to develop therapeutic treatments. Here, we report the generation of BMAL1 knockout cynomolgus monkeys for circadian-related disorders by CRISPR/Cas9 editing of monkey embryos. These monkeys showed higher nocturnal locomotion and reduced sleep, which was further exacerbated by a constant light regimen. Physiological circadian disruption was reflected by the markedly dampened and arrhythmic blood hormonal levels. Furthermore, BMAL1-deficient monkeys exhibited anxiety and depression, consistent with their stably elevated blood cortisol, and defective sensory processing in auditory oddball tests found in schizophrenia patients. Ablation of BMAL1 up-regulated transcriptional programs toward inflammatory and stress responses, with transcription networks associated with human sleep deprivation, major depressive disorders, and aging. | 3 | Petrology, geochemistry and geochronology of the Zhongcang ophiolite, northern Tibet: implications for the evolution of the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean显示文摘Ophiolites are widespread along the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone, northern Tibet. However, it is still debated on the formation ages and tectonic evolution process of these ophiolites. The Zhongcang ophiolite is a typical ophiolite in the western part of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone. It is composed of serpentinized peridotite, cumulate and isotropic gabbros, massive and pillow basalts, basaltic volcanic breccia, and minor red chert. Zircon SHRIMP Ue Pb dating for the isotropic gabbro yielded weighted mean age of 163.4 ± 1.8 Ma. Positive zircon ε Hf(t) values(+15.0 to +20.2) and mantle-like σ^(18)O values(5.29 ±0.21)% indicate that the isotropic gabbros were derived from a long-term depleted mantle source. The isotropic gabbros have normal mid-ocean ridge basalt(N-MORB) like immobile element patterns with high Mg O, low TiO_2 and moderate rare earth element(REE) abundances, and negative Nb,Ti, Zr and Hf anomalies. Basalts show typical oceanic island basalt(OIB) geochemical features, and they are similar to those of OIB-type rocks of the Early Cretaceous Zhongcang oceanic plateau within the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean. Together with these data, we suggest that the Zhongcang ophiolite was probably formed by the subduction of the Bangong-Nujiang Ocean during the Middle Jurassic. | 5 | The Beila Ophiolite from the Bangong-Nujiang Suture Zone, Northern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Beila ophiolite is located in the middle part of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone,northern Tibetan plateau.It is a complete ophiolite suite,and plays a key role in understanding the evolution of the Bangong-Nujiang suture zone,as well as the Meso-Tethys Ocean.The Beila ophiolite was composed of peridotite,serpentinite,gabbro,pillow basalt,and minor rodingite.Peridotites comprisemainlymedium–tocoarse–grained serpentinized harzburgites and minor plagioclase-bearing lherzolites and dunites.There are some felsic-ultramafic dykes within the peridotite and they are mainlypegmatoidal pyroxenites,coarse to fine-grained gabbros,and diabases.Gabbros included isotropic and cumulate gabbros,and they commonly contain minor pegmatoidal gabbros veins.Pillow basalts and basaltic andesites overlaid on the margin of the serpentinized peridotites.Rodingite occurs as lenses and/or dykes within the host serpentinized peridotites.Zircon SHRIMP U–Pb dating for two rodingite samples yielded the ages ranging from172 to 164 Ma.Whole-rock geochemical and zircon Hf isotopic data show that the Beila ophiolite shows SSZ-type ophiolite affinity.Finally,we suggest that the Beila ophiolite was generated in an initial subduction process at the middle Jurassic(164–172 Ma). | ZHAI Qingguo TANG Yue HU Peiyuan XIAO Xuchang WANG Haitao | 2017 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2017,91,S1: | 2 |
| 6 | Effects of Angelica sinensis extracts on lipid oxidation in fish feeds and growth performance of juvenile Jian carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian)显示文摘The study was to explore the effect of the extracts of Angelica sinensis(EAs) on lipid oxidation in fish feeds compared with ethoxyquin(EQ) and the effect of dietary EAs on growth performance of carp(Cyprinus carpio var. Jian). Firstly, fish feeds were respectively added with EQ, and ethyl ether extract ethyl acetate extract(EAE), acetone extract, ethanol extract(EE) and aqueous extract(AQE) of Angelica sinensis, except for the control. The results showed that EAs and EQ inhibited lipid oxidation in fish feed(P < 0.05). Of all of the examined EAs, EAE showed the strongest protective effects against lipid oxidation(P < 0.05). Moreover, EAE at high concentrations showed a stronger effect on lipid oxidation compared with EQ(P < 0.05). Then, 7 experimental diets respectively supplemented with 0.0, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 g/kg of EAE were fed to the respective treatment groups for 30 d. Four replicates were performed for each treatment group; 20 carp(mean weight: 12.10 ± 0.13 g) were in each replicate. The result indicated that dietary EAE improved the growth performance in carp(P < 0.05). The appropriate con centration of EAE for carp growth was estimated to be 3.643 g/kg diet. | 8 | Late Cambrian to Early Silurian Granitic Rocks of the Gemuri Area, Central Qiangtang, North Tibet: New Constraints on the Tectonic Evolution of the Northern Margin of Gondwana显示文摘The Paleozoic tectonic framework and paleo–plate configuration of the northern margin of Gondwana remain controversial. The South Qiangtang terrane is located along the northern margin of Gondwana and records key processes in the formation and evolution of this supercontinent. Here, we present new field, petrological, zircon U-Pb geochronological, and Lu-Hf isotopic data for granitic rocks of the Gemuri pluton, all of which provide new insights into the evolution of the northern margin of Gondwana. Zircon U-Pb dating of the Gemuri pluton yielded three concordant ages of 488.5 ± 2.1, 479.9 ± 8.9, and 438.5 ± 3.5 Ma. Combining these ages with the results of previous research indicates that the South Qiangtang terrane records two magmatic episodes at 502–471 and 453–439 Ma. These two episodes are associated with enriched zircon Hf isotopic compositions(εHf(t) =-10.1 to-3.9 and-16.6 to-6.5, respectively), suggesting the granites were formed by the partial melting of Paleoproterozoic–Mesoproterozoic metasedimentary rocks(Two–stage Hf model ages(TCDM) = 2094–1704 and 2466–1827 Ma, respectively). Combining these data with the presence of linearly distributed, contemporaneous Paleozoic igneous rocks along the northern margin of Gondwana, we suggest that all of these rocks were formed in an active continental margin setting. | 10 | Optical Spectra and Gain Properties of Ho^(3+)/Pr^(3+)Co-doped LiYF_4 Crystal显示文摘The LiYF4single crystals singly doped Ho3tand co-doped Ho3t,Pr3tions were grown by a modified Bridgman method.The JuddeOfelt strength parameters(U2,U4,U6)of Ho3twere calculated according to the absorption spectra and the JuddeOfelt theory,by which the radiative transition probabilities(A),fluorescence branching ratios(b)and radiative lifetime(srad)were obtained.The radiative lifetimes of5I6and5I7levels in Ho3t(1 mol%):LiYF4are 10.89 and 20.19 ms,respectively,while 9.77 and 18.50 ms in Ho3t/Pr3tdoped crystals.Hence,the sradof5I7level decreases significantly by introduction of Pr3tinto Ho3t:LiYF4crystal which is beneficial to the emission of 2.9 mm.The maximum emission cross section of Ho3t:LiYF4crystal located at2.05 mm calculated by McCumber theory is 0.51 10 20cm2which is compared with other crystals.The maximum emission cross section at 2948 nm in Ho3t/Pr3tco-doped LiYF4crystal obtained by Fuchtbauere Ladenburg theory is 0.68 10 20cm2,and is larger than the value of 0.53 10 20cm2in Ho3tsingly doped LiYF4crystal.Based on the absorption and emission cross section spectra,the gain cross section spectra were calculated.In the Ho3tions singly doped LiYF4crystal,the gain cross sections for 2.05 mm infrared emission becomes positive once the population inversion level reaches 30%.It means that the pump threshold for obtaining 2.05 mm laser is probably lower which is an advantage for Ho3t-doped LiYF42.05 mm infrared lasers.The calculated gain cross section for 2.9 mm mid-infrared emission does not become positive until the population inversion level reaches 40%in Ho3t/Pr3t:LiYF4crystal,but 50%in Ho3tsingly doped LiYF4crystal,indicating that a low pumping threshold is achieved for the Ho3t:5I6/5I7laser operation with the introduction of Pr3tions.It was also demonstrated that Pr3tion can deplete rapidly the lower laser Ho3t:5I7level and has influence on the Ho3t:5I6level.The Ho3t/Pr3t:LiYF4crystal may be a potential media for 2.9 mm mid-infrared laser. | Jiangtao Peng Haiping Xia Peiyuan Wang Haoyang Hu Lei Tang Yuepin Zhang Haochuan Jiang Baojiu Chen | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,9: | 0 |

| 12 | Pre-Cryogenian integrative stratigraphy,biotas,and paleogeographical evolution of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas显示文摘The composition and geological evolution of pre-Cryogenian material in the Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas have played an important role in studying the formation and evolution of early supercontinents on Earth.This paper systematically summarizes the characteristics of pre-Cryogenian sedimentation,paleontology,magmatism,and metamorphism in the Tibetan Plateau and its surrounding areas.Based on existing data,the records of pre-Cryogenian sedimentation and paleontology are mainly concentrated in the Meso-Neoproterozoic,with relatively few records from the Paleoproterozoic or earlier.The oldest geological record is the Hadean detrital zircons in the metamorphosed sedimentary rocks of the Himalaya and Qamdo areas(ca.4.0 Ga).The Tibetan Plateau and surrounding areas preserve records related to the formation and evolution of the Kenor supercraton,and the Columbia,Rodinia,and Gondwana supercontinents.Pre-Cryogenian basements can be divided into three types:Tarim-,Yangtze-,and Lhasa-type.The Tarim-type basement has a paleogeographic affinity with the northern margins of the Australian and Indian continents and lacks detrital zircon age peaks and magmatic-metamorphic records related to the Rodinia assembly(ca.1.3-0.9 Ga).The Yangtze-type basement records volcanic activity related to global cooling in the latest pre-Cryogenian period and contains Meso-Neoproterozoic stromatolite and micropaleoflora fossils,as well as magmaticmetamorphic records related to Rodinia assembly(ca.1.1-1.0 Ga).The Lhasa-type basement is characterized by Neoproterozoic rift-related sediment records(ca.900 Ma)and high-pressure metamorphic events(ca.650 Ma),with a prominent peak of detrital zircon ages of ca.1.2-1.1 Ga.It is likely to have a paleogeographic affinity with the African continent. | Peiyuan HU Qingguo ZHAI Guochun ZHAO Peter A.CAWOOD Yue TANG Yiming LIU | 2024 | Science China Earth Sciences2024,67,4: | 0 |
| 13 | Machine learning-based prognostic and metastasis models of kidney cancer显示文摘Background:Kidney cancer originates from the urinary tubule epithelial system of the renal parenchyma,accounting for 20% of all urinary system tumors.Approximately 70% of cases are localized at diagnosis,and 30%are metastatic.Most localized kidney cancers can be cured by surgery,but most metastatic patients relapse after surgery and eventually die of kidney cancer.Therefore,accurately predicting patient survival and identifying high-risk metastatic patients will effectively guide interventions and improve prognosis.Methods:This study used the data of 12,394 kidney cancer patients from the surveillance,epidemiology,and end results database to construct a research cohort related to kidney cancer survival and metastasis.Eight machine learning models(including support vector machines,logistic regression,decision tree,random forest,XGBoost,AdaBoost,K-nearest neighbors,and multilayer perceptron)were developed to predict the survival and metastasis of kidney cancer and six evaluation indicators(accuracy,precision,sensitivity,specificity,F1 score,and area under the receiver operating characteristic[AUROC])were used to verify,evaluate,and optimize the models.Results:Among the eight machine learning models,Logistic Regression has the highest AUROC in both prediction scenarios.For 3-year survival prediction,the Logistic Regression model had an accuracy of 0.684,a sensitivity of 0.702,a specificity of 0.670,a precision of 0.686,an F1 score of 0.683,and an AUROC of 0.741.For tumor metastasis prediction,the Logistic Regression model had an accuracy of 0.800,a sensitivity of 0.540,a specificity of 0.830,a precision of 0.769,an F1 score of 0.772,and an AUROC of 0.804.Conclusion:In this study,we selected appropriate variables from both statistical and clinical significance and developed and compared eight machine learning models for predicting 3-year survival and metastasis of kidney cancer.The prediction results and evaluation results demonstrated that our model could provide decision support for early intervention for kidney cancer patients. | Yuxiang Zhang Na Hong Sida Huang Jie Wu Jianwei Gao Zheng Xu Fubo Zhang Shaohui Ma Ye Liu Peiyuan Sun Yanping Tang Chun Liu Jianzhong Shou Meng Chen | 2022 | Cancer Innovation2022,1,2: | 0 |
