1Genetic and biological characteristics of the globally circulating H5N8 avian influenza viruses and the protective efficacy offered by the poultry vaccine currently used in China显示文摘The H5N8 avian influenza viruses have been widely circulating in wild birds and are responsible for the loss of over 33 million domestic poultry in Europe, Russia, Middle East, and Asia since January 2020. To monitor the invasion and spread of the H5N8 virus in China, we performed active surveillance by analyzing 317 wild bird samples and swab samples collected from 41,172 poultry all over the country. We isolated 22 H5N8 viruses from wild birds and 14 H5N8 viruses from waterfowls. Genetic analysis indicated that the 36 viruses formed two different genotypes: one genotype viruses were widely detected from different wild birds and domestic waterfowls;the other genotype was isolated from a whopper swan. We further revealed the origin and spatiotemporal spread of these two distinct H5N8 virus genotypes in 2020 and 2021. Animal studies indicated that the H5N8 isolates are highly pathogenic to chickens, mildly pathogenic in ducks, but have distinct pathotypes in mice. Moreover, we found that vaccinated poultry in China could be completely protected against H5N8 virus challenge. 2Comparative study on skin temperature response to menstruation at acupuncture points in healthy volunteers and primary dysmenorrhea patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To assess skin temperature response to menstruation at acupuncture points in primary dysmenorrhea(PD) patients and healthy volunteers so as to explore acupuncture point specificity in reflecting diseases in the light of skin temperature.METHODS:Fifty-two PD patients and 49 healthy volunteers were recruited.Skin temperature measurements were performed with a skin temperature assessment device at 10 points.Absolute difference between skin temperature of the same point on the left and right side is used as main outcome measure.RESULTS:On the first day of menstruation, when menstrual pain attacking in PD patients, a significant increase in skin temperature difference was detected at Taixi(KI 3) compared with the healthy group(P < 0.01).A significant reduction in skin temperature difference was detected at Taixi(KI 3) in the first day of menstruation compared with those values in the third day after menstruation(P < 0.01)in the healthy group.On the third day after menstruation, a significant reduction in skin temperature difference was found at Zhongdu(LR 6) in PD group compared with the healthy group(P < 0.05).No significant differences of skin temperature were detected at other points(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION:The skin temperature difference at menstruation-relevant points in PD patients did not all change significantly more than those in women without PD.Significant difference was only found in Taixi(KI 3), the Yuan-source point of Kidney meridian.She Yanfen Ma Liangxiao Zhu Jiang Qi Conghui Wang Yanxia Tang Ling Li Chunhua Yuan Hongwen Liu Yuqi Song Jiashan 2017Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2017,37,2:8
3Abnormal meiosis in fertile and sterile triploid cyprinid fish显示文摘Meiosis is the key process for producing mature gametes. A natural fertile triploid Carassius auratus population(3nDTCC) and an artificially derived sterile triploid crucian carp(3nCC) have been previously observed, providing suitable model organisms for investigating meiosis characteristics in triploid fish. In the present study, the microstructures and ultrastructures of spermatogenesis were studied in these fishes. Td T-mediated d UTP nick end labeling detection was performed to investigate the apoptosis of spermatocytes. Fluorescence in situ hybridization was employed to trace chromatin pairing. In addition, the m RNA expressions of cell cycle-related genes(i.e., cell division control 2 and cell cycle protein B) were determined by quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction to illustrate the molecular mechanism of abnormal meiosis in the 3nCC. The results showed that the 3nCC undergoes an irregular prophase I, with the chromosomes distributed in a unipolar radial manner and exhibiting partial pairing, hindered metaphase I, and degenerated cells in the subsequent stages. Meanwhile, the 3nDTCC presented a relatively regular meiotic prophase I with complete conjugate chromosome pairs and chromosomes distributed along the karyotheca,which were presented as a ring structure by slicing. Only the spreads with 130–150 irregular chromosomes can be easily detected in the 3nDTCC, suggesting that it may undergo an abnormal metaphase I. 5Interfacial engineering of perfluoroalkyl functionalized covalent organic framework achieved ultra-long cycled and dendrite-free lithium anodes显示文摘The finite lithium-ion utilization,short cycling life,and lower capacity retention caused by irreversible dendrite growth become the maximum dilemma in lithium metal batteries’(LMBs’)commercialization.Herein,a perfluoroalkyl-functionalized covalent organic framework(COF-F6)equipped with high stability and supernal proton conduction is introduced as an artificial solid electrolyte interface to stable the lithium metal anode.Benefiting from the strong electron-withdrawing effect of perfluoroalkyl,Li^(+)will be freed more by the competition of electronegative fluorine(F)and bis(trifluoromethanesulphonyl)imide anion(TFSI^(-)).The dissociation of LiTFSI and process of Li^(+)desolvation are easier to achieve.In addition,high electronegative fluorine can also regulate local electron-cloud density to induce the fast immigration of Li^(+).All the above roles contribute to improving the Li^(+)transfer number(0.7)and achieving the goal of inhibiting Li dendrite.As a result,the perfluoroalkyl COF-F6 modified LMB presents outstanding cycling stability.The symmetric batteries accomplish an overlong life-span of more than 5000 h with a lower hysteresis voltage(11 mV)at 5 mA·cm^(-2).Also,no dendrites are observed when using an in-situ optical microscope to learn the process of Li deposition.Therefore,this dendrite-free protection tactic holds broad prospects for the practical application of Li metal anodes.Yongxin Yang Conghui Zhang Zhiyuan Mei Yongjiang Sun Qi An Qi Jing Genfu Zhao Hong Guo 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:1
6COF-based single Li^(+)solid electrolyte accelerates the ion diffusionandrestrains dendritegrowthin quasi-solid-state organic batteries显示文摘A solid-state electrolyte(SSE),which is a solid ionic conductor and electroninsulating material,is known to play a crucial role in adapting a lithium metal anode to a high-capacity cathode in a solid-state battery.Among the various SSEs,the single Li-ion conductor has advantages in terms of enhancing the ion conductivity,eliminating interfacial side reactions,and broadening the electrochemical window.Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)are optimal platforms for achieving single Li-ion conduction behavior because of wellordered one-dimensional channels and precise chemical modification features.Herein,we study in depth three types of Li-carboxylate COFs(denoted LiOOC-COFn,n=1,2,and 3)as single Li-ion conducting SSEs.Benefiting from well-ordered directional ion channels,the single Li-ion conductor LiOOC-COF3 shows an exceptional ion conductivity of 1.36×10^(-5) S cm^(-1) at room temperature and a high transference number of 0.91.Moreover,it shows excellent electrochemical performance with long-term cycling,high-capacity output,and no dendrites in the quasi-solid-state organic battery,with the organic small molecule cyclohexanehexone(C_(6)O_(6))as the cathode and the Li metal as the anode,and enables effectively avoiding dissolution of the organic electrode by the liquid electrolyte.Genfu Zhao Zhiyuan Mei Lingyan Duan Qi An Yongxin Yang Conghui Zhang Xiaoping Tan Hong Guo 2023Carbon Energy2023,5,2:1
7Understanding a Single-Li-Ion COF Conductor for Being Dendrite Free in a Li-Organic Battery显示文摘In addition to improving ion conductivity and the transference number,single-Li-ion conductors(SLCs)also enable the elimination of interfacial side reactions and concentration difference polarization.Therefore,the SLCs can achieve high performance in solid-state batteries with Li metal as anode and organic molecule as cathode.Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)are leading candidates for constructing SLCs because of the excellent 1D channels and accurate chemical-modification skeleton.Herein,various contents of lithium-sulfonated covalently anchored COFs(denoted as LiO,S-COF1 and LiO,S-COF2)are controllably synthesized as SLCs.Due to the directional ion channels,high Li contents,and single-ion frameworks,LiO,SCOF2 shows exceptional Li-ion conductivity of 5.47×10^(-5)S.cm^(-1),high transference number of 0.93,and low activation energy of 0.15eV at room temperature.Such preeminent Li-ion-transported properties of LiO_(3)S-F2 permit stable Li+plating/stripping in a symmetric lithium metal battery,effectively impeding the Li dendrite growth in a liquid cell.Moreover,the designed quasi-solid-state cell(organic anthraquinone(AQ)as cathode,Li metal as anode,and LiO_(3)S-COF2 as electrolyte)shows high-capacity retention and rate behavior.Consequently,LiO_(3)S-COF2 implies a potential value restraining the dissolution of small organic molecules and Li dendrite growth.Yongjiang Sun Genfu Zhao Yao Fu Yongxin Yang Conghui Zhang Qi An Hong Guo 2023Research2023,,1:0
8Operando surface science methodology reveals surface effect in charge storage electrodes显示文摘Surface and interface play critical roles in energy storage devices,calling for operando characterization techniques to probe the electrified surfaces/interfaces.In this work,surface science methodology,including electron spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy,has been successfully applied to visualize electrochemical processes at operating electrode surfaces in an Al/graphite model battery.Intercalation of anions together with cations is directly observed in the surface region of a graphite electrode with tens of nanometers thickness,the concentration of which is one order higher than that in bulk.An intercalation pseudocapacitance mechanism and a double specific capacity in the electrode surface region are expected based on the super-dense intercalants and anion/cation co-intercalation,which are in sharp contrast to the battery-like mechanism in the electrode bulk.The distinct electrochemical mechanism at the electrode surface is verified by performance tests of real battery devices,showing that a surface-dominant,nanometer-thick graphite cathode outperforms a bulk-dominant,micrometer-thick graphite cathode.Our findings highlight the important surface effect of working electrodes in charge storage systems.Chao Wang Yanxiao Ning Haibo Huang Shiwen Li Chuanhai Xiao Qi Chen Li Peng Shuainan Guo Yifan Li Conghui Liu Zhong-Shuai Wu Xianfeng Li Liwei Chen Chao Gao Chuan Wu Qiang Fu 2021National Science Review2021,8,3:0
