1Anthropogenic emission inventories in China:a review显示文摘The development of reliable anthropogenic emission inventories is essential for both understanding the sources of air pollution and designing effective air-pollution-control measures in China. However, it is challenging to quantify emissions in China accurately, given the variety of contributing sources, the complexity of the technology mix and the lack of reliable measurements. Over the last two decades,tremendous efforts have been made to improve the accuracy of emission inventories, and significant improvements have been realized. More reliable statistics and survey-based data have been used to reduce the uncertainties in activity rates and technology distributions. Local emission factors and source profiles covering various sources have been measured and reported. Based on these local databases, improved emission inventory models have been developed for power plants, large industrial plants and the residential,transportation and agricultural sectors. In this paper, we review the progress that has been made in developing inventories of anthropogenic emissions in China. We first highlight the major updates that have been made to emission inventory models and the underlying data by source category. We then summarize the sector-based estimates of emissions of different species contained in current inventories. The progress that has been made in the development of model-ready emissions is also presented. 2Satellite remote sensing of changes in NO_x emissions over China during 1996-2010显示文摘Satellite derived NO2 column data have been used to study Chinese national fossil fuel consumption and pollutant emissions.Based on NO 2 retrievals from two satellites (GOME and SCIAMACHY) for 1996-2010,we analyzed the characteristics and evolution of regional pollution related to NO x emissions in China.Satellite observations indicated that the highly polluted regions were expanding.Anthropogenic emission dominated areas have expanded from the east to central and western China,and new highly polluted regions have formed throughout the nation.Bottom-up emission estimates suggested a 133% increase in anthropogenic NOx emissions in East Central China during 1996 to 2010,which was lower than the 184% increase of the NO2 columns measured by the satellites.We found that growth rates of NOx emissions have slowed in Chinese megacities over recent years,in contrast to which,the NOx emissions were soaring in medium-sized cities,indicating that strict controls of NOx emissions from coal-fired facilities are required in China.ZHANG Qiang GENG GuanNan WANG SiWen RICHTER Andreas HE KeBin 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,22:43
3Air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the Yangtze River Delta region during 2014–2016显示文摘With rapid economic growth and urbanization, the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) region in China has experienced serious air pollution challenges. In this study, we analyzed the air pollution characteristics and their relationship with emissions and meteorology in the YRD region during 2014–2016. In recent years, the concentrations of all air pollutants, except O3,decreased. Spatially, the PM2.5, PM10, SO2, and CO concentrations were higher in the northern YRD region, and NO2 and O3 were higher in the central YRD region. Based on the number of non-attainment days(i.e., days with air quality index greater than 100), PM2.5 was the largest contributor to air pollution in the YRD region, followed by O3, PM10, and NO2.However, particulate matter pollution has declined gradually, while O3 pollution worsened.Meteorological conditions mainly influenced day-to-day variations in pollutant concentrations. PM2.5 concentration was inversely related to wind speed, while O3 concentration was positively correlated with temperature and negatively correlated with relative humidity.The air quality improvement in recent years was mainly attributed to emission reductions.During 2014–2016, PM2.5, PM10, SO2, NOx, CO, NH3, and volatile organic compound(VOC)emissions in the YRD region were reduced by 26.3%, 29.2%, 32.4%, 8.1%, 15.9%, 4.5%, and0.3%, respectively. Regional transport also contributed to the air pollution. During regional haze periods, pollutants from North China and East China aggravated the pollution in the YRD region. 4Pathways of China's PM;air quality 2015–2060 in the context of carbon neutrality显示文摘Clean air policies in China have substantially reduced particulate matter(PM;) air pollution in recent years,primarily by curbing end-of-pipe emissions.However,reaching the level of the World Health Organization(WHO) guidelines may instead depend upon the air quality co-benefits of ambitious climate action.Here,we assess pathways of Chinese PM;air quality from 2015 to 2060 under a combination of scenarios that link global and Chinese climate mitigation pathways(i.e.global 2℃-and 1.5℃-pathways,National Determined Contributions(NDC) pledges and carbon neutrality goals) to local clean air policies.We find that China can achieve both its near-term climate goals(peak emissions) and PM;air quality annual standard(35 μg/m;) by 2030 by fulfilling its NDC pledges and continuing air pollution control policies.However,the benefits of end-of-pipe control reductions are mostly exhausted by 2030,and reducing PM;exposure of the majority of the Chinese population to below 10 μg/m;by 2060 will likely require more ambitious climate mitigation efforts such as China’ s carbon neutrality goals and global1.5℃-pathways.Our results thus highlight that China’s carbon neutrality goals will play a critical role in reducing air pollution exposure to the level of the WHO guidelines and protecting public health.Jing Cheng Dan Tong Qiang Zhang Yang Liu Yu Lei Gang Yan Liu Yan Sha Yu Ryna Yiyun Cui Leon Clarke Guannan Geng Bo Zheng Xiaoye Zhang Steven JDavis Kebin He 2021National Science Review2021,8,12:23
5Rapid improvement of PM2.5 pollution and associated health benefits in China during 2013–2017显示文摘Exposure to fine particulate matter(PM2.5)is known to harm public health.In China,after implementation of aggressive emissions control measures under the Action Plan of Air Pollution Prevention and Control(2013-2017),air quality has significantly improved.In this work,we investigated changes in PM2.5 exposure and the associated health impacts in China for the period 2013-2017.We used an optimal estimator of PM2.5 combining in-situ observations,satellite measurements,and simulations from a chemical transport model to derive the spatial and temporal variations in PM2.5 exposure,and then used welldeveloped exposure-response functions to estimate the premature deaths attributable to PM2.5 exposure.We found that national population-weighed annual mean PM2.5 concentrations decreased from 67.4μgm-3 in 2013 to 45.5μgm-3 in 2017(32%reduction).This rapid decrease in PM2.5 pollution led to a 14%reduction in premature deaths due to long-term exposure.We estimated that,during 2013-2017,the premature deaths attributable to long-term PM2.5 exposure decreased from 1.2 million(95%CI:1.0,1.3;fraction of total mortality:13%)in 2013 to 1.0 million(95%CI:0.9,1.2;10%)in 2017.Despite the rapid decrease in annual mean PM2.5 concentrations,health benefits associated with reduced long-term exposure were limited,because for many cities,the PM2.5 levels remain at the portion where the exposure-response function is less steeper than that at the lowconcentration end.We also found that the deaths associated with acute exposure decreased by 61%during 2013-2017 due to rapid reduction in the number of heavily polluted days.Our results confirm that clean air policies in China have mitigated the air pollution crisis;however,continuous emissions reduction efforts are required to protect citizens from air pollution.Tao XUE Jun LIU Qiang ZHANG Guannan GENG Yixuan ZHENG Dan TONG Zhu LIU Dabo GUAN Yu BO Tong ZHU Kebin HE Jiming HAO 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:17
6Impact of China’s Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan on PM2.5 chemical composition over eastern China显示文摘China promulgated the Air Pollution Prevention and Control Action Plan(the Action Plan)in 2013 and developed stringent control measures to mitigate fine particulate matter(PM2.5) pollution.Here,we investigated the PM2.5 chemical composition changes over eastern China associated with the Action Plan during 2013-2017 using satellite-based PM2.5 chemical composition data derived using CMAQ simulations and satellite inputs.The PM2.5 concentrations decreased considerably during this time as a result of the reductions in all chemical species in PM2.5.The population-weighted mean concentrations over eastern China decreased from 11.1 to 6.7μgm-3 for SO42-,13.8-13.1μgm-3 for NO3-,7.4-5.8μgm-3 for NH4+,9.9-8.4μgm-3 for OM,4.6-3.8μg m-3 for BC and 12.9-9.6μg m-3 for other species in PM2.5.SO42-had the largest reduction of 40%,while NO3-had the lowest reduction of 5%,resulting in a greater fraction of NO3-and a smaller fraction of SO42-in PM2.5.Among the three key regions,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei had the largest reduction in PM2.5 and its chemical compositions.The decrease in SO42-concentrations was in line with the reduction of SO2 emissions,and the major driver of the SO2 emission reductions was the industrial sector.The decrease in NO3 concentrations was limited because the decrease in SO2 emissions and the stable NH3 emissions facilitated the formation of NO3-from HNO3,which partially offset the reduction in NOx emissions driven by the power sector.To mitigate PM2.5 pollution more effectively,future efforts are needed to reduce NH3 emissions.Guannan GENG Qingyang XIAO Yixuan ZHENG Dan TONG Yuxuan ZHANG Xiaoye ZHANG Qiang ZHANG Kebin HE Yang LIU 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,12:16
7Soliton bursts and deterministic dissipative Kerr soliton generation in auxiliary-assisted microcavities显示文摘Dissipative Kerr solitons in resonant frequency combs offer a promising route for ultrafast mode-locking,precision spectroscopy and time-frequency standards.The dynamics for the dissipative soliton generation,however,are intrinsically intertwined with thermal nonlinearities,limiting the soliton generation parameter map and statistical success probabilities of the solitary state.Here,via use of an auxiliary laser heating approach to suppress thermal dragging dynamics in dissipative soliton comb formation,we demonstrate stable Kerr soliton singlet formation and soliton bursts.First,we access a new soliton existence range with an inverse-sloped Kerr soliton evolution—diminishing soliton energy with increasing pump detuning.Second,we achieve deterministic transitions from Turinglike comb patterns directly into the dissipative Kerr soliton singlet pulse bypassing the chaotic states.This is achieved by avoiding subcomb overlaps at lower pump power,with near-identical singlet soliton comb generation over twenty instances.Third,with the red-detuned pump entrance route enabled,we uncover unique spontaneous soliton bursts in the direct formation of low-noise optical frequency combs from continuum background noise.The burst dynamics are due to the rapid entry and mutual attraction of the pump laser into the cavity mode,aided by the auxiliary laser and matching well with our numerical simulations.Enabled by the auxiliary-assisted frequency comb dynamics,we demonstrate an application of automatic soliton comb recovery and long-term stabilization against strong external perturbations.Our findings hold potential to expand the parameter space for ultrafast nonlinear dynamics and precision optical frequency comb stabilization.Heng Zhou Yong Geng Wenwen Cui Shu-Wei Huang Qiang Zhou Kun Qiu Chee Wei Wong 2019Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1:16
8Attribution of PM_(2.5) exposure in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to emissions:implication to control strategies显示文摘The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is one of the most heavily polluted regions in China,with both high PM_(2.5) concentrations and a high population density.A quantitative source-receptor relationship can provide valuable insights that can inform effective emission control strategies.Both source apportionment(SA) and source sensitivity(SS) can provide such information from different perspectives.In this study,both methods are applied in northern China to identify the most significant emission categories and source regions for PM_(2.5) exposure in BTH in 2013.Despite their differences,both models show similar distribution patterns for population and simulated PM_(2.5) concentrations,resulting in overall high PM_(2.5) exposure values(approximately 110 μg/m~) and particularly high exposure values during the winter(approximately 200 μ/m~).Both methods show that local emissions play a dominant role(70%),with some contribution from surrounding provinces(e.g.,Shandong) via regional transport.The two methods also agree on the priority of local emission controls:both identify industrial,residential,and agricultural emissions as the top three categories that should be controlled locally.In addition,the effect of controlling agricultural ammonia emissions is approximately doubled when the co-benefits of reducing nitrate are considered.The synthesis of SA and SS for addressing specific categories of emissions provides a quantitative basis for the development of emission control strategies and policies for controlling PM_(2.5)in China.Xin Li Qiang Zhang Yang Zhang Lin Zhang Yuxuan Wang Qianqian Zhang Meng Li Yixuan Zheng Guannan Geng Timothy J.Wallington Weijian Han Wei Shen Kebin He 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,13:15

10Long-term outcomes after hepatectomy of huge hepatocellular carcinoma: A single-center experience in China显示文摘Background: Currently, hepatectomy remains the first-line therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). However, surgery for patients with huge( > 10 cm) HCCs is controversial. This retrospective study aimed to explore long-term survival after hepatectomy for patients with huge HCC. Methods: The records of 188 patients with pathologically confirmed HCC who underwent curative hepatectomy between 2007 and 2017 were reviewed;patients were divided into three groups according to tumor size: huge( > 10 cm;n = 84), large(5–10 cm;n = 51) and small( < 5 cm;n = 53) HCC. Kaplan-Meier analysis was used to assess overall survival(OS) and disease-free survival(DFS), and log-rank analysis was performed for pairwise comparisons among the three groups. Risk factors for survival and recurrence were analyzed using the Cox proportional hazard model. Results: The median follow-up period was 20 months. Although the prognosis of small HCC was better than that of huge and large HCC, OS and DFS were not significantly different between huge and large HCC( P = 0.099 and P = 0.831, respectively). A family history of HCC, poor Child-Pugh class, vascular invasion, diolame, pathologically positive margins, and operative time ≥240 min were identified as independent risk factors for OS and DFS in a multivariate model. Tumor size( > 10 cm) had significant effect on OS, and postoperative antiviral therapy and postoperative complications also had significant effects on DFS. Conclusions: Huge HCC is not a contraindication of hepatectomy. 11Lower Es3 in Zhanhua Sag, Jiyang Depression: a case study for lithofacies classification in lacustrine mud shale显示文摘湖相页岩油气重点关注富含Ⅰ或Ⅱ_1型有机质纹层状灰质岩相,因此,泥页岩岩相划分除了应考虑矿物组分、层理构造之外,还应特别重视有机质类型及丰度的差异。以济阳坳陷沾化凹陷沙三下亚段(Es_3~下)湖相泥页岩为例,综合利用岩心描述、薄片、电镜、核磁及测井等资料进行岩相类型划分、特征分析及识别方法研究。首先,从层理构造、岩性角度区分泥页岩岩相,并考虑将有机质信息融入到岩相分类中,提出了'构造+岩性+有机质'三重信息结合的湖相泥页岩岩相划分方案。然后,针对岩相三重信息分别进行识别研究,利用测井变量最优滤波分析获得的敏感测井数据三维交会可提高岩性识别精度,同时鉴于曲线分形对层理构造有较好的指示,将敏感无铀伽马曲线分形维数作为交会变量,优化了岩相构造识别方法。最后,通过测井反演的有机碳含量(TOC)、热解烃(S_2)地化参数,进一步可得到氢指数(HI),借助氢指数-最大热解峰温度(HI-T_(max))图版能够识别不同岩相中的有机质类型。由此综合建立的湖相泥页岩岩相测井精细分析方法,能够准确地提取泥页岩岩相中构造、岩性、有机质三种信息,为在连续井筒中识别有效页岩储层与寻找油气甜点提供了依据。Yan Jian-Ping He Xu Hu Qin-Hong Liang Qiang Tang Hong-Ming Feng Chun-Zhen Geng Bin 2018Applied Geophysics2018,15,2:10

13Preparation of magnetically separable mesoporous activated carbons from brown coal with Fe3O4显示文摘Magnetically separable mesoporous activated carbon was prepared from brown coal in the presence of Fe3O4 as a bi-functional additive.Magnetic activated carbon(MAC)was characterized by lowtemperature nitrogen adsorption,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)and vibrating sample magnetometry(VSM).The evolution behaviors and transition mechanism of Fe3O4 during the preparation of MAC were investigated.The results show that prepared MAC with 6 wt%Fe3O4 addition having a specific surface area and mesopore ratio of 370 m^2·g^-1 and 55.7%,which meet the requirements of adsorption application and magnetic recovery.Highly dispersed iron-containing aggregates with the size of 0.1 lm in the MAC were observed.During the preparation of MAC,Fe3O4 could enhance the escape of volatiles during the carbonization.Fe3O4 could also accelerate burning off the carbon wall during activation,which leads to enlarging micropore size,then resulting in the generation of mesopore and macropore.As a result,a part of Fe3O4 converted into FeO,FeOOH,a-Fe,c-Fe,Fe2SiO4 and compound of Aluminum-iron-silicon.The prepared activated carbon,which was magnetized by both of residual Fe3O4,reduced a-Fe and c-Fe,can be easily separated from the original solution by external magnetic field.Yong Jiang Qiang Xie Yanhai Zhang Cuiyu Geng Bin Yu Juan Chi 2019International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2019,29,3:8
14Strength criterion of composite solid propellants under dynamic loading显示文摘Based on the dynamic loading(1-100 s^(-1)) experiments under different temperatures(223-298 K) and stress states, uniaxial and biaxial strength criterion of a Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)based composite solid propellant were further investigated. These experiments were conducted through the use of a new uniaxial INSTRON testing machine, different new designed gripping apparatus and samples with different configurations. According to the test results, dynamic uniaxial tensile strength criterion of the propellant was directly constructed with the master curve of the uniaxial maximum tensile stress. Whereas, a new method was proposed to determine the dynamic uniaxial compressive strength of the propellant in this study. Then uniaxial compressive strength criterion of the propellant was constructed based on the related master curve. Moreover, it found that the uniaxial tensilecompressive strength ratio of the propellant is more sensitive to loading temperature under the test conditions. The value of this parameter is about 0.4 at room temperature, and it reduces to 0.2-0.3 at low temperatures. Finally, the theoretical biaxial strength criterion of HTPB propellant under dynamic loading was constructed with the unified strength theory, the uniaxial strength and the typical biaxial tensile strength. 16Effectiveness and Safety Evaluation of Qixiong Zhongzi Decoction (芪芎种子汤) in Idiopathic Asthenozoospermia Treatment:A Randomized Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective:To evaluate the clinical effectiveness and safety of the Chinese medicine(CM)Qixiong Zhongzi Decoction(芪芎种子汤,QZD)in the treatment of patients with idiopathic asthenozoospermia.Methods:A total number of 66 patients with idiopathic asthenozoospermia were included and randomly divided into treatment and control groups by SAS-generated code from January 2015 to August 2016,33 patients in each group.Patients in the treatment group were administered with 150 m L of QZD twice a day,whereas those in the control group were given 1 g of levocarnitine oral liquid twice a day.The two groups received the indicated medication for 12 weeks and were then followed up for 4 weeks.The primary outcome was sperm motility,and the secondary therapeutic indices were sperm volume,density,pregnancy probability,and CM syndrome score.The comparison between groups was carried out at 4,8 and 12 weeks,respectively.The safety was determined before and after treatment.Results:(1)Drop-off:5 cases(7.58%)were lost after treatment(2 from the treatment group and 3 from the control group).(2)Primary outcomes:after 8-and 12-week treatment,the progressive sperms in the two groups were significantly higher than the baseline(all P<0.05);however,the treatment group showed greater improvement compared with the control group at 12-week treatment(22.7%±9.0%vs.14.1%±8.8%,P<0.05).The increasement of non-progressive grade sperms at both groups was observed at 8-and 12-week treatment with statistical difference(all P<0.05),however,the treatment group showed remarkable improvement compared with the control group at 12-week treatment(38.7%±14.1%vs.26.2%±15.4%,P<0.05).(3)Secondary outcomes:no significant statistical differences were found in semen volume and density(4,8,and 12-week treatment)and pregnancy probability of patients’wives(12-week treatment)between two groups(all P>0.05),however,the CM syndrome score of the treatment group significantly declined compared with baseline level at each time points(all P<0.05).(4)Safety:no obvious side reactions were found during the treatment in both groups.Conclusions:QZD could improve the progressive and non-progressive grade sperm in the treatment of idiopathic asthenozoospermia.It is safe with no obvious side effects.WANG Fu GAO Qing-he GENG Qiang HAN Qiang ZHAO Jia-you YU Guo-jin ZHANG Ji-wei YAN Bin GUO Jun SONG Chun-sheng 2020Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2020,26,2:6
17Computed tomography perfusion and computed tomography angiography for prediction of clinical outcomes in ischemic stroke patients after thrombolysis显示文摘Cerebral blood perfusion and cerebrovascular lesions are important factors that can affect the therapeutic efficacy of thrombolysis.At present,the majority of studies focus on assessing the accuracy of lesion location using imaging methods before treatment,with less attention to predictions of outcomes after thrombolysis.Thus,in the present study,we assessed the efficacy of combined computed tomography(CT) perfusion and CT angiography in predicting clinical outcomes after thrombolysis in ischemic stroke patients.The study included 52 patients who received both CT perfusion and CT angiography.Patients were grouped based on the following criteria to compare clinical outcomes:(1) thrombolytic and non-thrombolytic patients,(2) thrombolytic patients with CT angiography showing the presence or absence of a vascular stenosis,(3) thrombolytic patients with CT perfusion showing the presence or absence of hemodynamic mismatch,and(4) different CT angiography and CT perfusion results.Short-term outcome was assessed by the 24-hour National Institution of Health Stroke Scale score change.Long-term outcome was assessed by the 3-month modified Rankin Scale score.Of 52 ischemic stroke patients,29 were treated with thrombolysis and exhibited improved short-term outcomes compared with those without thrombolysis treatment(23 patients).Patients with both vascular stenosis and blood flow mismatch(13 patients) exhibited the best short-term outcome,while there was no correlation of long-term outcome with CT angiography or CT perfusion findings.These data suggest that combined CT perfusion and CT angiography are useful for predicting short-term outcome,but not long-term outcome,after thrombolysis.Jia-wei Pan Xiang-rong Yu Shu-yi Zhou Jian-hong Wang Jun Zhang Dao-ying Geng Tian-yu Zhang Xin Cheng Yi-feng Ling Qiang Dong 2017Neural Regeneration Research2017,12,1:5

19Comparative genomics reveal shared genomic changes in syngnathid fishes and signatures of genetic convergence with placental mammals显示文摘Syngnathids(seahorses,pipefishes and seadragons)exhibit an array of morphological innovations including loss of pelvic fins,a toothless tubular mouth and male pregnancy.They comprise two subfamilies:Syngnathinae and Nerophinae.Genomes of three Syngnathinae members have been analyzed previously.In this study,we have sequenced the genome of a Nerophinae member,the Manado pipefish(Microphis manadensis),which has a semi-enclosed brood pouch.Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the molecular evolutionary rate of the four syngnathids is higher than that of other teleosts.The loss of all but one P/Q-rich SCPP gene in the syngnathids suggests a role for the lost genes in dentin and enameloid formation in teleosts.Genome-wide comparison identified a set of 118 genes with parallel identical amino acid substitutions in syngnathids and placental mammals.Association of some of these genes with placental and embryonic development in mammals suggests a role for them in syngnathid pregnancy.Yan-Hong Zhang Vydianathan Ravi Geng Qin He Dai Hui-Xian Zhang Feng-Ming Han Xin Wang Yu-Hong Liu Jian-Ping Yin Liang-Min Huang Byrappa Venkatesh Qiang Lin 2020National Science Review2020,7,6:5
