| 1 | Granitic magmatism related to early Paleozoic continental collision in North Qinling显示文摘Zircon U-Pb dating of early Paleozoic granitoids in North Qinling yields three age peaks of^500,~452 and^420 Ma.They can be temporally correlated with high-pressure to ultrahigh-pressure metamorphism at ca.500 Ma,retrograde granulite-facies metamorphisms at ca.450 Ma and amphibolite-facies metamorphism at ca.420 Ma,respectively.The first episode of granitic magmatism is considered to have resulted from continental collision,whereas the second and third episodes of magmatism are attributed to crustal uplifting.Combined with the regional geological setting and new results from high-pressure and ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic rocks,the ca.500 Ma magmatism is interpreted as the result of partial melting of sedimentary rocks in accretionary wedge between the south Qinling microcontinent and the north Qinling belt including the southern margin of the North China Craton.The ca.450 Ma intensive magmatism is ascribed to dehydration melting of deeply subducted continental crust at thickened conditions in response to slab breakoff,and the final magmatism in ca.420 Ma is interpreted as the product of partial melting during the tectonic transition from contraction to extension. | ZHANG ChengLi LIU Liang WANG Tao WANG XiaoXia LI Lei GONG QiFu LI XiaoFei | 2013 | Chinese Science Bulletin2013，58，35： | 30 |
| 2 | A shallow aftershock sequence in the north-eastern end of the Wenchuan earthquake aftershock zone显示文摘Previous studies show that mature faults are filled with fault gouge in the shallow part and thus cannot accumulate enough strain energy for earthquakes. Therefore most earthquakes are deeper than 5 km, except those events occurring on new faults or in intact rocks. From field observation, Wenchuan earthquake is found to rupture the free surface about 200 km, but the rupture may extend underground much further from teleseismic body waves inversion and aftershocks distribution. In the northeastern end of the rupture zone, deep rupture may induce stress increase near the free surface, and trigger shallow earthquakes. An Ms 5.7 aftershock occurred at Qingchuan, northeast end of Wenchuan earthquake fault on July 24, 2008, featuring thrust mechanism with a 3 km source centroid depth. The shallow focal depth is confirmed with the sPL phase recorded at station L0205. As Rayleigh wave is well only developed for source depth less than 1/5 of epicentral distance, the observed large amplitude of Rg at a distance of 15 km implied depth of 3 km or less. Dozens of aftershocks' sPL waveforms are also analyzed to confirm the source depths less than 3 km. On the other hand, no surface ruptures are found by geological survey or InSAR studies. | 4 | Site effects on earthquake ground motion based on microtremor measurements for metropolitan Beijing显示文摘A campaign of microtremor measurements was conducted in summer 2007 for assessing local site effects of seismic strong ground motion in metropolitan Beijing. Using the measurements from over 600 sites with approximately 1―2 km spacing covering the entire area inside Beijing’s 5th Beltway, we present the analysis results in the form of contours of the predominant resonant frequency, the thick- ness of the uppermost soft sediments, and the ground motion amplification factor. The microtremor- derived soft sediment thickness is generally in agreement with previous results based on much sparser borehole data, with the revealing of more short-wavelength undulations, which coincide with major geomorphological and neotectonic expressions in metropolitan Beijing. This study provides additional valuable information to the earthquake-resistant design of civil infrastructures and seismic hazard response in metropolitan Beijing. | 5 | Molecular phylogenetic relationships of China Seas groupers based on cytochrome b gene fragment sequences显示文摘The classification and evolutionary relationships are important issues in the study of the groupers. Cytochrome b gene fragment of twenty-eight grouper species within six genera of subfamily Epinephelinae was amplified using PCR techniques and the sequences were analyzed to derive the phylogenetic relationships of the groupers from the China Seas. Genetic information indexes, including Kimura-2 parameter genetic distance and Ts/Tv ratios, were generated by using a variety of biology softwares. With Niphon spinosus, Pagrus major and Pagrus auriga as the designated outgroups, phylogenetic trees, which invoke additional homologous sequences of other Epinephelus fishes from GenBank, were constructed based on the neighbor-joining (NJ), maximum-parsimony (MP), maximum-likelihood (ML) and minimum-evolution (ME) methods. | 6 | Cd uptake in rice cultivars treated with organic acids and EDTA显示文摘A pot experiment was conducted to examine the activity of antioxidant enzymes, the content of malondialdehyde (MDA), proline and protein, and Cd uptake in different rice cultivars exposed to Cd (0, 1 and 5 mg/kg) in the presence of organic acids and ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA). The results showed the increase in activity of dismutase (SOD), contents of proline and protein but a decline in activities of peroxidase (POD) and catalase (CAT), and MDA content for cultivars Xiushui63 and IIyou527. The resistance to Cd was higher in Xiushui63 than that in IIyou527 under the same Cd treatment. Cadmium contents in grain, straw and roots of both cultivars were markedly reduced in the presence of organic acids and EDTA. | 7 | CMHX008,a PPAR γ partial agonist,enhances insulin sensitivity with minor influences on bone loss显示文摘Traditional thiazolidinediones(TZDs),such as rosiglitazone,are peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor g(PPARg)potent agonists that can be used to treat type 2 diabetes but carry unwanted effects,including increased risk for fracture.The present work aimed to compare the insulin-sensitizing efficacies and bone-loss side effects of CMHX008,a novel TZDs-like PPARg partial agonist,with those of rosiglitazone.A TR-FRET PPARg competitive binding assay was used to compare the binding affinity between CMHX008 and rosiglitazone.Mice were administered vehicle,CMHX008 or rosiglitazone for 16 weeks.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)were used to examine differences in differentiation into osteoblasts after compounds treatment.TR-FRET showed lower affinity to PPARg by CMHX008 compared with rosiglitazone.Mice treated with CMHX008 showed insulin sensitization similar to that of mice treated with rosiglitazone,which was related to the significant inhibition of PPARg Ser273 phosphorylation and improved insulin sensitivity by facilitating the phosphorylation of insulin receptor and Akt in adipose tissues.Micro-CT and histomorphometric analyses demonstrated that the degree of trabecular bone loss after treatment with CMHX008 was weaker than that observed with rosiglitazone,as evidenced by consistent changes in BV/TV,Tb.N,Tb.Th,Tb.Sp,and the mineral apposition rate.MSCs treated with CMHX008 showed higher ALP activity and mRNA levels of bone formation markers than did cells treated with rosiglitazone in the osteoblast differentiation test.Thus,CMHX008 showed insulin-sensitizing effects similar to those of rosiglitazone with a lower risk of bone loss,suggesting that PPARg sparing eliminates the skeletal side effects of TZDs while maintaining their insulin-sensitizing properties. | Yi Hou Xuemei Cao Xiangnan Hu Xinyu Li Xiaoqin Shi Hongying Wang Chuan Peng Jiayu Li Jibin Li Qifu Li Chaodong Wu Xiaoqiu Xiao | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018，5，3： | 6 |

| 9 | Hippocampal overexpression of TREM2 ameliorates high fat diet induced cognitive impairment and modulates phenotypic polarization of the microglia显示文摘Type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)and Alzheimer's disease(AD)share several common pathophysiological features.Rare variants of triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2(TREM2)increase the risk of developing AD,suggesting the involvement of TREM2 and innate immunity in AD development.It is still unknown whether TREM2 is related to cognitive impairment in T2DM.Here,we investigated the effects of the hippocampal overexpression of TREM2 on cognitive in long-term high-fat diet(HFD)-fed mice.Male C57BL/6J mice were maintained on HFD for 50 weeks.TREM2 was overexpressed in the hippocampus 36 weeks after HFD feeding using adeno-associated virus vector(AAV)-mediated gene delivery.The results showed that the HFD feeding induced rapid and persistent weight gain,glucose intolerance and significant impairments in learning and memory.Compared with AAV-con,AAV-TREM2 significantly ameliorated cognitive impairment without altering body weight and glucose homeostasis in HFD mice.The overexpression of TREM2 upregulated the synaptic proteins spinophilin,PSD95 and synaptophysin,suggesting the improvement in synaptic transmission.Dendritic complexity and spine density in the CA1 region were rescued after TREM2 overexpression.Furthermore,TREM2 markedly increased the number of iba-1/Arg-1-positive microglia in the hippocampus,suppressed neuroinflammation and microglial activation.In sum,hippocampal TREM2 plays an important role in improving HFD-induced cognitive dysfunction and promoting microglial polarization towards the M2 anti-inflammatory phenotype.Our study also suggests that TREM2 might be a novel target for the intervention of obesity/diabetes-associated cognitive decline. | Min Wu Maolin Liao Rongfeng Huang Chunxiu Chen Tian Tian Hongying Wang Jiayu Li Jibin Li Yuxiang Sun Chaodong Wu Qifu Li Xiaoqiu Xiao | 2022 | Genes & Diseases2022，9，2： | 4 |

| 11 | Rupture of the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake inferred from direct P-wave imaging显示文摘The Sumatra-Andaman earthquake on December 26, 2004 is the first well recorded gigantic earthquake (moment magnitude MW 9.3) by modern broadband seismic and Global Positioning System networks. The rich seismic and geodetic recordings have documented unprecedented details about the earthquake rupture, coseismic and postseismic deformations. This is a report of detailed images of the rupture process using the first-arriving compressional waves recorded by the China National Digital Seismic Network (CNDSN). An improved imaging condition was employed to account for the sparse distribution of the CNDSN stations. The resulting images are consistent with the major rupture features reported by previous seismic and geodetic studies. It is found that the earthquake rupture initiated at offshore of northwestern Sumatra and propagated in the north northwest direction at a speed of 2.7 ± 0.2 km/s. | 13 | Effects of biogenic amines on the testicular development in mud crabs Scylla serrata显示文摘The regulation of three biogenic amines over the reproductive neuroendocrine activity of the male Scylla serrata was investigated by in vivo injection and in vitro incubation. The testicular index, the ratio of the mature sections in testes, and the ratio of Type B cells in androgenic gland were taken as the quantitative indexes. The in vivo injections indicated that: 5-HT can significantly promote the testicular development and the secretion of the androgenic gland in S. serrata; DA can inhibit the testicular development, but no influence on the secretion of the androgenic gland was found; no significant difference was observed between the OA-injected group and the concurrent control group. In vitro incubations showed that: 5-HT can stimulate the secretion of the brain and the thoracic ganglia, thus accelerating that of the androgenic gland; however, neither OA nor DA showed any significant influence on the secretion of the brain and the thoracic ganglionic mass. As to the optic ganglia, the three biogenic amines hardly have any effect on its secretion. It is the first time to report the regulation of biogenic amines over the reproductive neuroendocrine of male crustaceans through vitro experiments. | 15 | Stereotactic surgery for refractory epilepsy complicated by mental disorders A retrospective case analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND: Anti-epilepsy and anti-psychosis drugs have traditionally been used in the clinic to treat epilepsy complicated by mental disorders. However, there is still no effective therapy for refractory epilepsy patients suffering from persistent mental disorders. OBJECTIVE: To explore the therapeutic effects of stereotactic multi-element localization and multi-target radiofrequency ablation on patients with refractory primary epilepsy and mental disorders. DESIGN: A retrospective case analysis. SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery, the 454 Hospital of Chinese PLA. PARTICIPANTS: Between June and November 2004, 13 patients with refractory primary epilepsy compli-cated by persistent mental disorders were admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery, the 454 Hospital of Chinese PLA. The patient group consisted of nine males and four females, with an average age of 25 years (range 18-39 years), and a course of disease ranging 3-11 years. Diagnosis of mental disorders was in ac-cordance with Chinese Classification of Mental Disorders. Written informed consent was obtained from all patients and their families, and the treatment protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Hospital. METHODS: Under venous inhalation anesthesia, the disease targets, including bilateral corpus callosum, bilateral amygdala, and bilateral medial septal area, as well as unilateral Forel-H area, were coagulated by RFG-3CF radiofrequency thermocoagulation at 75-80 ℃ for 60-70 seconds. During thermocoagulation, the targets were identified using deep-brain microelectrodes and localized according to electrophysiology and electric resistance values. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: One year post-surgery, epileptic seizures were assessed on the basis of the Tan classification, and psychogenic (non-epileptic) seizures were evaluated using a 5-grade system. RESULTS: All enrolled 13 epileptic patients were included in the final analysis. The results of follow-up evaluations demonstrated that epilepsy was well-controlled. In total, nine patients did not experience relapse, and the frequency of seizures was reduced by 75% in two patients, and 50%-74% in another two patients. Psychogenic seizures were ameliorated in 11 cases (class 1, recovery) and improved significantly in two cases (class 2, significant improvement).
