1Pan-genome of Raphanus highlights genetic variation and introgression among domesticated,wild,and weedy radishes显示文摘Post-polyploid diploidization associated with descending dysploidy and interspecific introgression drives plant genome evolution by unclear mechanisms.Raphanus is an economically and ecologically important Brassiceae genus and model system for studying post-polyploidization genome evolution and introgres-sion.Here,we report the de novo sequence assemblies for 11 genomes covering most of the typical sub-species and varieties of domesticated,wild and weedy radishes from East Asia,South Asia,Europe,and America.Divergence among the species,sub-species,and South/East Asian types coincided with Quaternary glaciations.A genus-level pan-genome was constructed with family-based,locus-based,and graph-based methods,and whole-genome comparisons revealed genetic variations ranging from single-nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)to inversions and translocations of whole ancestral karyotype(AK)blocks.Extensive gene flow occurred between wild,weedy,and domesticated radishes.High fre-quencies of genome reshuffling,biased retention,and large-fragment translocation have shaped the genomic diversity.Most variety-specific gene-rich blocks showed large structural variations.Extensive translocation and tandem duplication of dispensable genes were revealed in two large rearrangement-rich islands.Disease resistance genes mostly resided on specific and dispensable loci.Variations causing the loss of function of enzymes modulating gibberellin deactivation were identified and could play an important role in phenotype divergence and adaptive evolution.This study provides new insights into the genomic evolution underlying post-polyploid diploidization and lays the foundation for genetic improve-ment of radish crops,biological control of weeds,and protection of wild species'germplasms.Xiaohui Zhang Tongjin Liu Jinglei Wang Peng Wang Yang Qiu Wei Zhao Shuai Pang Xiaoman Li Haiping Wang Jiangping Song Wenlin Zhang Wenlong Yang Yuyan Sun Xixiang Li 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,12:3

8Behavior and respiration responses of the earthworm Eisenia fetida to soil arsenite pollution显示文摘Soil arsenic(As)pollution from mining and industrial sources is a serious issue in China.Earthworms are considered ecosystem engineers and contribute to soil fertility development and maintenance of soil physico-chemical properties.In this study,earthworms were exposed to soils with different sodium arsenite concentrations(0,5,20,and 80 mg As kg^(-1))for 60 d to investigate the changes in soil properties and the responses of the earthworms(e.g.,burrowing activity and respiration).Earthworm burrowing activity decreased with increasing arsenite concentrations,and earthworm respiration was significantly lower in soils with 20 and 80 mg As kg^(-1) compared to 0 mg As kg^(-1).Changes in soil properties were also observed after incubation of As-amended soil with earthworms.Specifically,soil pH decreased,while soil electrical conductivity and contents of soil NH3--N,Olsen-P,and available K increased.Our results suggest that arsenite negatively impacts the metabolic activity of earthworms,leading to reduced burrowing activity,which in turn modifies the effects of earthworms on soil fertility and remediation.Yali WANG Yizhao WU Jo CAVANAGH Xiuhong WANG Jiangping QIU Yinsheng LI 2021Pedosphere2021,31,3:0
9Effect of arsenite on the proteome of earthworms Eisenia fetida显示文摘Arsenic(As)is broadly distributed due to natural and anthropogenic sources,and it is toxic to organisms.This study aimed to investigate the proteomic response in earthworm exposed to As^(3+).Earthworms were exposed to As^(3+)in soil at 5-80 mg kg1,and samples were collected after 60 days exposure.Two-dimensional electrophoresis(2-DE)was used to separate the proteins in earthworm homogenate,then differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)were identified using MALDI-TOF/TOF-MS analysis.After 2-DE,36 DEPs were found and 24 of them were successfully identified.79.2%of DEPs were upregulated compared to the control group.The maximum fold change reached 53.8 in spot 3108 in the 80 mg kg^(-1)As group.Two proteins were not found in the control group but found in the As treated groups.Proteins were grouped into metabolism,signal transduction,stress-related,transport,regulation,and predicted/hypothetical protein categories based on their function.The protein-protein interaction between the DEPs indicated that serum albumin(ALB)is very important,related to 6 other proteins.Proteins were then verified by western blot,the results were in agreement with the proteomic analyses.The identification of induced or repressed proteins because of As^(3+)in earthworms is helpful to explore the underlying mechanisms of soil arsenic ecotoxicity.Yali Wang Yinsheng Li Hongpei Geng Qian Zuo Michelle Thunders Jiangping Qiu 2023Soil Ecology Letters2023,5,1:0
10Investigation and Analysis of Nutrition Components of Wild Chives Collected from Hezhang County of Guizhou Province显示文摘Guizhou Province is an important distribution area of wild onion resources,and a large area of wild( Chinese) chives are distributed in Hezhang County. In order to understand and study the distribution of wild chives,the geographical distribution,habitats and climate of wild chives in Hezhang County were investigated,and the main nutrition components of wild chives were analyzed. The results indicated that there were mainly three kinds of wild chives distributed in Hezhang County, including Allium wallichii Kunth., Allium ovalifolium Hand.-Mazz.( tentatively named),and Allium hookeri Thwaites( tentatively named). Among the 17 kinds of amino acids,except for proline,the content of other amino acids in wild chives was higher than that of the cultivated chives( Allaum tuberosum Rottler ex Spreng.). The sugar content of wild chives was significantly lower than the cultivated chives. Among nine trace elements,the manganese,zinc and iron content of A. ovalifolium Hand.-Mazz. were significantly higher than that of the cultivated chives and other wild chives. Among the four kinds of heavy metals,cadmium content in the three kinds of wild chives exceeded the limitation of the national standard,and cadmium content in A. ovalifolium Hand.-Mazz. was significantly higher than that of the others. Arsenic,mercury and lead content in A. ovalifolium Hand.-Mazz. also exceeded the limitation of the national standard. Vitamin C content in leaves and stalk of A. wallichii Kunth. in the original habits was higher than that of the cultivated chives. The biological characteristics and nutrition components of the wild chives from Hezhang County were significantly different from that of the cultivated chives. 11Quasi‑Solid Electrolyte Interphase Boosting Charge and Mass Transfer for Dendrite‑Free Zinc Battery显示文摘The practical applications of zinc metal batteries are plagued by the dendritic propagation of its metal anodes due to the limited transfer rate of charge and mass at the electrode/electrolyte interphase.To enhance the reversibility of Zn metal,a quasi-solid interphase composed by defective metal-organic framework(MOF)nanoparticles(D-UiO-66)and two kinds of zinc salts electrolytes is fabricated on the Zn surface served as a zinc ions reservoir.Particularly,anions in the aqueous electrolytes could be spontaneously anchored onto the Lewis acidic sites in defective MOF channels.With the synergistic effect between the MOF channels and the anchored anions,Zn^(2+)transport is prompted significantly.Simultaneously,such quasi-solid interphase boost charge and mass transfer of Zn^(2+),leading to a high zinc transference number,good ionic conductivity,and high Zn^(2+)concentration near the anode,which mitigates Zn dendrite growth obviously.Encouragingly,unprecedented average coulombic efficiency of 99.8%is achieved in the Zn||Cu cell with the proposed quasi-solid interphase.The cycling performance of D-UiO-66@Zn||MnO_(2)(~92.9%capacity retention after 2000 cycles)and D-UiO-66@Zn||NH_(4)V_(4)O_(10)(~84.0%capacity retention after 800 cycles)prove the feasibility of the quasi-solid interphase.Xueer Xu Yifei Xu Jingtong Zhang Yu Zhong Zhongxu Li Huayu Qiu Hao Bin Wu Jie Wang Xiuli Wang Changdong Gu Jiangping Tu 2023Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,4:0
