1Herbicide promotes the conjugative transfer of multi-resistance genes by facilitating cellular contact and plasmid transfer显示文摘The global dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes(ARGs),especially via plasmid-mediated horizontal transfer,is becoming a pervasive health threat.While our previous study found that herbicides can accelerate the horizontal gene transfer(HGT)of ARGs in soil bacteria,the underlying mechanisms by which herbicides promote the HGT of ARGs across and within bacterial genera are still unclear.Here,the underlying mechanism associ-ated with herbicide-promoted HGT was analyzed by detecting intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS)production,extracellular polymeric substance composition,cell membrane integrity and proton motive force combined with genome-wide RNA sequencing.Exposure to herbicides induced a series of the above bacterial responses to promote HGT except for the ROS response,including compact cell-to-cell contact by enhancing pilus-encoded gene expression and decreasing cell surface charge,increasing cell membrane permeability,and enhancing the proton motive force,providing additional power for DNA uptake.This study provides a mechanistic understanding of the risk of bacterial resistance spread promoted by herbicides,which elucidates a new perspective on nonantibiotic agrochemical acceleration of the HGT of ARGs.Xi Li Chang Wen Chen Liu Shiyun Lu Zhongbing Xu Qiue Yang Zhi Chen Hanpeng Liao Shungui Zhou 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5:2

6Synergy in magnetic Ni_(x)Co_(1)O_(y) oxides enables base-free selective oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural on loaded Au nanoparticles显示文摘The base-free aerobic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF) to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid(FDCA)in water is recognized as an important and sustainable upgrading process for cellulosic carbohydrates.However,selectivity control still remains a challenge.Here,we disclose that the unique synergy in magnetic Ni_(x)Co_(1)O_(y)(x=1,3 and 5) bimetallic oxides can induce reactive oxygen defects and simultaneously stabilize small-sized metallic Au nanoparticles in the Au/Ni_(x)Co_(1)O_(y)catalysts.Such catalytic features render effective adsorption and activation of O_(2),OH and C=O groups,realizing selective oxidation of HMF to FDCA.On a series of magnetic Au/Ni_(x)Co_(1)O_(y)catalysts with almost identical Au loadings(ca.0.5 wt%) and particle sizes(ca.2.7 nm),the variable Ni/Co molar ratios give rise to the tunable electron density of Au sites and synergistic effect between NiO and CoO_(y).The initial conversion rates of HMF and its derived intermediates(i.e., DFF,HMFCA and FFCA) show a volcano-like dependence on the number of oxygen defects(i.e.,O_(2)^(-)and O^(-)) and electron-rich Au0sites.The optimum Au/Ni3Co1Oycatalyst exhibits a highest productivity of FDCA(12.5 mmol_(FDCA)mol_(Au)^(-1)h^(-1)) among all the Au catalysts in the literature and achieves> 99% yield of FDCA at 120℃ and 10 bar of O_(2).In addition,this catalyst can be easily recovered by a magnet and show superior stability and reusability during six consecutive cycling tests.This work may shed a light on Au catalysis for the base-free oxidation of biomass compounds by smartly using the synergy in bimetallic oxide carriers.Hao Zhang Yinghao Wang Qizhao Zhang Bang Gu Qinghu Tang Qiue Cao Kun Wei Wenhao Fang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,3:0
7Efficient hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol by magnetically recoverable RuCo bimetallic catalyst显示文摘A magnetically recoverable Ru Co bimetallic catalyst was reported for the catalytic hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol under ambient H_(2) pressure.The magnetic catalyst was prepared by H_(2) treatment of the Ru Co composite precursor from a facile one-pot hydrolysis of Co and Ru salts by NaBH_(4) solution.This catalyst can totally convert furfural to 98–100% furfuryl alcohol at 120°C under 1 bar H_(2) in isopropanol or water using only molecular H_(2) as hydrogen source.Moreover,the catalyst showed excellent stability during recycling test and can be easily and completely recovered by magnet from reaction solution.The influence of Ru/Co ratio and H_(2)-treatment temperature was studied,which were shown to be important for the structural evolution and the metal interaction in Ru Co active sites,based on the comprehensive characterizations including XRD,TGA,TEM,XPS,H_(2)-TPR,CO adsorbed DRIFT-IR.It was demonstrated that the cooperative Ru~0–Co~0 bimetallic active sites in strong interaction can significantly promote activity and selectivity of the catalyst due to an enhanced adsorption and activation of furfural and H_(2),and simultaneously created a strong magnetism in the Ru Co catalyst for simple physical separation.Yongxing Wang Tianyu Gao Yaowei Lu Yinghao Wang Qiue Cao Wenhao Fang 2022Green Energy & Environment2022,7,2:0
8Efficacy of aqueous extract of flower of Edgeworthia gardneri(Wall.)Meisn on glucose and lipid metabolism in KK/Upj-Ay/J mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To observe the effects of the flower of Edgeworthia gardneri(Wall.)Meisn(EWM)on glucose and lipid metabolism in KK/upj-Ay/J(KKAy)mice and investigate the possible mechanism of EWM in the liver of KKAy mice by transcriptome analysis.METHODS:Forty KKAy mice were fed a high-sugar and high-fat diet for 3 weeks to establish the animal model of metabolic syndrome.After 5 weeks of continuous administration of EWM,serum high-density lipoprotein(HDL),low-density lipoprotein(LDL),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),and free fatty acids(FFA)were detected by radioimmunoassay.Serum fasting insulin(Fins)and adiponectin levels were measured by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay.Liver tissue fixed with paraformaldehyde was stained with hematoxylineosin and oil red O.Transcriptome analysis was used to evaluate the liver tissue.The expressions of lipoprotein lipase(LPL),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPARγ),adenosine 5‘-monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK),sterol regulatory element binding protein1c(SREBP-1c),and fatty acid synthase(Fas)mRNA and protein in liver tissue were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)and Western blot analysis.RESULTS:EWM slightly reduced FBG and Fins in KKAy mice.Furthermore,EWM was able to downregulate serum LDL,TG,TC,and FFA and upregulate the expression of serum HDL and adiponectin.Transcriptome analysis revealed the following differential pathways:the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)signaling pathway and the AMPK signaling pathway.RT-PCR and western blot analysis detected the associated genes and proteins.In addition,EWM was able to upregulate the expression of AMPK and downregulate the expression of PPARγ,SREBP1c,and Fas mRNA and protein and upregulate the expression of LPL mRNA.CONCLUSIONS:EWM can alleviate lipid metabolism disorders and to some extent improve glucose metabolism disorders in KKAy mice.These effects may be related to regulating PPARγ/LPL and activating the AMPK/SREBP1c/Fas pathway.ZHANG Chengfei QIN Lingling WANG Haiyan SUN Boju ZHAO Dan ZHANG Qiue ZHONG Fengying WU Lili LIU Tonghua 2022Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2022,42,2:0
