| 1 | Melanin nanoparticles alleviate sepsis-induced myocardial injury by suppressing ferroptosis and inflammation显示文摘Myocardial injury as one of the severe complications leads to the increasing morbidity and mortality in patients with sepsis.Recent studies reported that reactive oxygen species(ROS)-mediated ferroptosis plays a critical role in the development of heart diseases.Therefore,we hypothesized that anti-ferroptosis agent might be a novel potential therapeutic strategy for sepsis-induced cardiac injury.Herein,we demonstrated that a small biocompatible and MRI-visible melanin nanoparticles(MMPP)improves myocardial function by inhibiting ROS-related ferroptosis signaling pathway.In LPS-induced murine sepsis model,after a single dose intravenously injection of MMPP treatment,MMPP markedly alleviated the myocardial injury including cardiac function and heart structure disorder through suppressing iron-accumulation induced ferroptosis.In vitro,MMPP inhibited cardiomyocyte death by attenuating oxidative stress,inflammation and maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis.Collectively,our findings demonstrated that MMPP protected heart against sepsis-induced myocardial injury via inhibiting ferroptosis and inflammation,which might be a novel therapeutic approach in future. | Chang Liu Quan Zou Huixin Tang Jia Liu Shiqi Zhang Caihong Fan Junwei Zhang Ruiqing Liu Yashan Liu Ruiyan Liu Yan Zhao Qiang Wu Zhi Qi Yanna Shen | 2023 | Bioactive Materials2023,,6: | 5 |
| 2 | Neuron stem cell NLRP6 sustains hippocampal neurogenesis to resist stress-induced depression显示文摘Neurogenesis decline in hippocampal dentate gyrus(DG)participates in stress-induced depressive-like behaviors,but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood.Here,we observed low-expression of NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6)in hippocampus of stress-stimulated mice,being consistent with high corticosterone level.NLRP6 was found to be abundantly expressed in neural stem cells(NSCs)of DG.Both Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6^(-/-))and NSCconditional Nlrp6 knockout(Nlrp6CKO)mice were susceptible to stress,being more likely to develop depressive-like behaviors.Interestingly,NLRP6 was required for NSC proliferation in sustaining hippocampal neurogenesis and reinforcing stress resilience during growing up.Nlrp6 deficiency promoted esophageal cancer-related gene 4(ECRG4)expression and caused mitochondrial dysfunction.Corticosterone as a stress factor significantly down-regulated NLRP6 expression,damaged mitochondrial function and suppressed cell proliferation in NSCs,which were blocked by Nlrp6 overexpression.ECRG4 knockdown reversed corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial function and cell proliferation disorders.Pioglitazone,a well-known clinical drug,up-regulated NLRP6 expression to inhibit ECRG4 expression in its protection against corticosterone-induced NSC mitochondrial dysfunction and proliferation restriction.In conclusion,this study demonstrates that NLRP6 is essential to maintain mitochondrial homeostasis and proliferation in NSCs,and identifies NLRP6 as a promising therapeutic target for hippocampal neurogenesis decline linked to depression. | Chuanfeng Tang Qiaona Wang Jingyan Shen Congying Wang Hong Ding Shiyu Wen Fan Yang Ruiqing Jiao Xingxin Wu Jianmei Li Lingdong Kong | 2023 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,5: | 3 |
| 3 | Study on Fungi Belonging to Fusarium Link in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region显示文摘[Objective]This paper was to identify fungi belonging to Fusarium Link. [Method] The fungal species, distribution and the diseases caused by Fusarium Link in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region were determined by the methods of field investigation, collection, isolated culture and identification.[Result]Nine species of fungi belonging to Fusarium Link were identified, including F. avenaceum, F. concolor, F. culmorum, F. graminearum, F. moniliforme, F. nivale, F. oxysporum, F. solani, and one unnamed species. | 4 | Field Evaluation of a Duplex RT-RAA Assay for Rapid Detection of SARS-CoV-2--Hebei Province,China,January 2021显示文摘Introduction:Recently,a local cluster epidemic has occurred in Shijiazhuang City,Hebei Province.Failure to promptly identify patients with fever in rural areas was the major reason for this epidemic.Methods:We presented the field evaluation of a new real-time reverse transcription recombinase-aided amplification(RT-RAA)kit incorporating an endogenous internal control in a single-tube format,completed at the Hebei CDC from January 17,2021 to January 27,2021.Results:We evaluated the diagnostic performance of RT-RAA assay using automatic extracted RNA of 808 clinical samples.Compared with reverse transcriptase real-time quantitative PCR(qRT-PCR),RT-RAA kit achieved 92.41%sensitivity,98.78%specificity and a 96.29%coincidence rate,demonstrating an excellent agreement between the RTRAA assay and qRT-PCR assay.Furthermore,58 samples were extracted using a manual extraction method within 5 minutes,but only samples with high nucleic acid concentration(cycle threshold value not higher than 32)could be stably detected.Discussion:The RT-RAA is more suitable to meet the needs of rapid,sensitive,and accurate detection in community-level medical institutions. | Ruiqing Zhang Shunxiang Qi Jiandong Li Shiyou Liu Guangyue Han Xinxin Shen Qi Li Wenbo Xu Xuejun Ma | 2022 | China CDC weekly2022,4,23: | 1 |

| 6 | Synergistic effects of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)with different transition metals on intumescent flame-retarded polypropylene composites:A comparative study显示文摘The use of intumescent flame retardants(IFRs)is considered an environmentally friendly and cost-effective strategy to suppress potential fire hazards from synthetic polymers.However,some conventional IFRs are neither efficient in developing a thermally stable char layer nor reducing the release of toxic byproducts during polymer combustion.In this work,we aim to discuss the effects of zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)on synergistically improving the flame retardancy behaviors in polypropylene(PP)composites,including thermal degradation(evolved gas analysis),free radical reactions in the gaseous phase(in-situ chemiluminescent image analysis),and carbonaceous structure in the condensed phase(micro-morphology and composition analysis).It is found that the transition metals in ZIFs can catalytically accelerate the crosslinking reaction at a lower initial temperature and decrease the amount of hydrocarbon volatiles in the gaseous phase.Once ignited,the embedded ZIFs can firstly bridge adjacent phosphorus chains in the polymer matrix to expand crosslinking degrees and then they are anchored in the developed N-doped phospho-carbonaceous networks after pyrolysis.As a result,more compact char residue structures are observed in the condensed phase for ZIF-reinforced composites.For example,by replacing 2 wt%of IFR with ZIF-67,the peak heat release rate,peak smoke production rate,and peak CO production rate are reduced by 69%,80%,and 72%,respectively,when compared to the conventional composite.These results indicate an excellent solution to resolve inherent fire hazards associated with IFRs in polymers and achieve necessary efficiency for industrial applications.It also provides a new strategy for determining flammability characteristics and combustion mechanisms of polymer composites using in-situ chemiluminescence analysis. | Yufeng Quan Ruiqing Shen Christian Schweizer Pradeep Parajuli Zhuoran Zhang Waruna Kulatilaka Qingsheng Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,24: | 0 |

| 8 | Enhancement of a recombinase-aided amplification assay using betaine and pullulan显示文摘Background:Nucleic acid amplification enhancers suitable for use in a recombinase-aided amplification(RAA)assay were studied for the first time,and amplification of a long-fragment(509 bp)was initially explored.Methods:Using recombinant plasmids and clinical samples,RAA fluorescence and basic methods were used to evaluate the efficacy.The fluorescence method was evaluated by threshold time and fluorescence value,and the basic method was characterized by 2%agarose gel electrophoresis.Results:Taking a previously established RAA assay for HPV18 as an example,we demonstrated that the addition of 0.2 M,0.4 M,and 0.6 M betaine and 10%pullulan could enhance the RAA.The new RAA assays with betaine and pullulan were named B-RAA and P-RAA,respectively.Using the B-RAA and P-RAA fluorescence methods,the threshold time values could be shortened by 1.72-2.32 minutes and 2.60 minutes,respectively,and the fluorescence values could be enhanced by 8847.25-9094.37 mv and 5250 mv,respectively.Using the basic method,the sensitivity could be increased 10-fold.We successfully amplified a long-fragment of 509 bp using a P-RAA assay with a sensitivity of 102 copies/μL(compared with 103 copies/μL in the RAA assay).Conclusions:Thus,we concluded that betaine and pullulan are effective additives to enhance the sensitivity of RAA assays. | Jinrong Wang Guowei Song Yue Ming Jing Pan Ruiqing Zhang Guohao Fan Xinxin Shen Xuejun Ma Lixin Li | 2022 | Infectious Medicine2022,1,2: | 0 |
