| 1 | Effects of retinoic acid on proliferation,phenotype and expression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors in TGF-β1-stimulated rat hepatic stellate cells显示文摘AIM To study the molecular mechanisms ofretinoic acid(RA)on proliferation andexpression of cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitors(CKI),i.e.p16,p21 and p27 in cultured rathepatic stellate cells(HSC)stimulated withtransforming growth factor beta 1(TGF-β1).METHODS HSC were isolated from healthy ratlivers and cultured.After stimulated with1 mg/L TGF-β1,subcultured HSC were treatedwith or without 1 nmol/L RA.MTT assay,immunocytochemistry(ICC)for p16,p21,p27and α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)protein,insitu hybridization(ISH)for retinoic acidreceptor beta 2(RAR-β2)and p16,p21 and p27mRNA and quantitative image analysis(partially)were performed.RESULTS RA inhibited HSC proliferation(41.50%,P<0.05),decreased the protein levelof α-SMA(55.09%,P<0.05),and induced HSCto express RAR-β2 mRNA.In addition,RAincreased the protein level of p16(218.75%,P<0.05)and induced p21 protein expression;meanwhile,p27 was undetectable by ICC in bothcontrol and RA-treated HSC.However,RA hadno influence on the mRNA levels of p16,p21 orp27 as determined by ISH.CONCLISION Up-regulation of p16 and p21 on post-transcriptional level may contribule, in part to RA inhibition of TGF-β1-initiated rat HSC activation in vitro. | Guang Cun Huang Jin Sheng Zhang Yue E Zhang Department of Pathology School of Basic Medical Sciences,Fudan University.Shanghai 200032,China | 2000 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2000,6,6: | 23 |

| 5 | Botulinum toxin injection improved voluntary motor control in selected patients with post-stroke spasticity显示文摘The effect of botulinum toxin type A injection on voluntary grip control was examined in a 53-year-old female, who sustained a hemorrhagic right middle cerebral artery stroke 3 years previously, which resulted in finger flexor spasticity and residual weak finger/wrist extension. The patient received 50 units of botulinum toxin type A injection each to the motor points (2 sites/muscle) of the left flexor digitorum superficialis and flexor digitorum profundus, respectively. Botulinum toxin injection led to weakness and tone reduction in the spastic finger flexors, but improved grip release time in grip initiation/release reaction time tasks. Improved release time was accompanied by shortened extensor electromyography activity, and improved release time likely correlated with blocked co-contraction of finger flexors during voluntary finger extension. | 6 | Pore throat characteristics of tight sandstone of Yanchang Formation in eastern Gansu,Ordos Basin显示文摘An important factor to evaluate reservoir quality is the pore-throat size.However,the strong heterogeneity makes it difficult to characterize the pore-throat distribution in tight reservoirs.The field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM),high pressure mercury injection and rate-controlled mercury injection are used to investigate the pore-throat size distribution in tight sandstone reservoirs of Member 7 of the Yanchang Formation in eastern Gansu,Ordos Basin,and studies of the pore throat size controlling on physical property of the tight sandstone reservoirs are also carried out.The result shows that the pore type is mainly dominated by the residual intergranular pore,dissolution pore,micropore and a few micro-fractures;the high-pressure mercury injection experiment indicates that the pore-throat size ranges from 0.0148 μm to 40mm,the pore throat more than 1 mm is less;the ratecontrolled mercury injection experiment reveals that for samples with different physical properties,the pore radius mainly varies from 80 μm to 350 μm;the throat radius exhibits the strong heterogeneity,and is from 0.12 μm to 30μm;the pore-throat size can be effectively characterized by combination of high-pressure and rate-controlled mercury injections,and it varies from 0.0148 μm to 350 μm.The permeability is mainly controlled by the large pore throat(>R_(50))which accounts for a small proportion;in the tight sandstone with the permeability greater than 0.1 mD,the permeability is mainly controlled by the micropore and mesopore;in the tight sandstone with the permeability smaller than 0.1 mD,the permeability is mainly controlled by the nanopore and micropore;the proportion of small pore throat increases with reduction of permeability,it is important that the small pore throat influences the reservoir storage property though its effect on permeability are small. | Hao Wu Chunlin Zhang Youliang Ji Rui'e Liu Shang Cao Sheng Chen Yunzhao Zhang Ye Wang Wei Du Gang Liu | 2018 | Petroleum Research2018,3,1: | 7 |

| 8 | A multistep attachment process:Transformation of titanate nanotubes into nanoribbons显示文摘The mechanism of the conversion of titanate nanotubes into nanoribbons is of considerable interest.The details of the transformation processes involved when nanoribbons are produced from a P25 TiO 2 powder precursor by alkaline hydrothermal treatment have been investigated systematically by transmission electron microscopy.A multistep attachment model is proposed for the growth at the early stage of coarsening.The treatment duration has a strong effect on the change in product morphology from hollow nanotubes into nanoribbons,since the nanotubes cannot retain their morphology in the strong alkaline solution for extended periods of time.Most of the nanotubes were etched and dissolved,providing the nutrients for subsequent nanoribbon growth.Some stable nanotubes grew spirally internally to form nanowires or became connected together to form rafts which acted as the grains for nanoribbon growth.With increasing hydrothermal time,a large number of nanotubes and other fragments became attached to the grains which began to grow larger and eventually formed the nanoribbons,in a process in which the stepped faces and kinked faces became fused and were eliminated while the flat faces were retained in the nanoribbon morphology. | SHENG Jiang HU LinHua MO Li'E LI WenXin TIAN HuaJun DAI SongYuan | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,3: | 2 |
