2The microbiome in inflammatory bowel diseases:from pathogenesis to therapy显示文摘Inflammatory bowel disease(IBD)has become a global disease with accelerating incidence worldwide in the 21st century while its accurate etiology remains unclear.In the past decade,gut microbiota dysbiosis has consistently been associated with IBD.Although many IBDassociated dysbiosis have not been proven to be a cause or an effect of IBD,it is often hypothesized that at least some of alteration in microbiome is protective or causative.In this article,we selectively reviewed the hypothesis supported by both association studies in human and pathogenesis studies in biological models.Specifically,we reviewed the potential protective bacterial pathways and species against IBD,as well as the potential causative bacterial pathways and species of IBD.We also reviewed the potential roles of some members of mycobiome and virome in IBD.Lastly,we covered the current status of therapeutic approaches targeting microbiome,which is a promising strategy to alleviate and cure this inflammatory disease.Sheng Liu Wenjing Zhao Ping Lan Xiangyu Mou 2021Protein & Cell2021,12,5:15

6Multipartite entanglement concentration for nitrogen-vacancy center and microtoroidal resonator system显示文摘We describe a high efcient entanglement concentration protocol(ECP)for multi-particle less-entangled nitrogen-vacancy(N-V)center and microtoroidal resonator system.In the ECP,we only require one pair of less-entangled state,two auxiliary N-V center in microcavities and some single photons.After the photon passing through the microcavity,by measuring the polarization of the photon,a maximally entangled W state can be obtained with some success probability.This ECP does not need to destroy the solid qubit,which makes it more feasible.Moreover,by resorting to more single photons,it can be repeated to reach a high success probability.These features make this ECP useful in current long-distance quantum communications.SHENG YuBo LIU Jiong ZHAO ShengYang ZHOU Lan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:10
7Drift and deposition of pesticide applied by UAV on pineapple plants under different meteorological conditions显示文摘Spray drift has always been a focus research area in the field of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)application.Under the fixed premises of UAV operating parameters,such as height,speed and spraying liquid,the droplet drift is mainly affected by meteorological conditions.In this research,the spray drift and deposition tests were conducted using a QuanFeng120 UAV in a pineapple field under various different meteorological conditions.The experimental results showed that with the changes of UAV operating height and wind speed,the start position of the in-swath deposition area changed 4 m in the extreme situation.The percentage of the total spray drift was from 15.42%to 55.76%.The position of cumulative spray drift that accounted for 90%of the total spray drift was from 3.70 m to 46.50 m relative to the flight line.According to the downwind spray drift curve,the nonlinear equations of the same type under the four operating conditions of the UAV were fitted.The spray drift and the deposition of UAV application were significantly affected by different meteorological conditions and UAV operating heights.The results could provide a theoretical basis for UAV spraying in pineapple plants and support for spray drift control and prediction.Juan Wang Yubin Lan Huihui Zhang Yali Zhang Sheng Wen Weixiang Yao Jiajian Deng 2018International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2018,11,6:10
8A large carbon pool in lake sediments over the arid/semiarid region, NW China显示文摘Carbon burial in lake sediments is an important component of the global carbon cycle. However, little is known about the magnitude of carbon sequestered in lake sediments over the arid/semiarid region of China(ASAC).In this study, we estimate both organic and inorganic carbon burial since *AD 1800 based on nine lakes in ASAC,and discuss the most plausible factors controlling carbon burial. Our estimates show that the annual organic carbon burial rate(OCBR) ranges from 5.3 to 129.8 g cm-2year-1(weighted mean of 49.9 g cm-2year-1), leading to a standing stock of 1.1–24.0 kg cm-2(weighted mean of 8.6 kg cm-2)and a regional sum of *108 Tg organic carbon sequestered since *AD 1800. The annual inorganic carbon burial rate(ICBR) ranges from 11.4 to 124.0 g cm-2year-1(weighted mean of 48.3 g cm-2year-1), which is slightly lower than OCBR. The inorganic carbon standing stock ranges from2.4 to 26.0 kg cm-2(weighted mean of 8.1 kg cm-2),resulting in a sum of *101 Tg regional inorganic carbon burial since *AD 1800, which is slightly lower than the organic carbon sequestration. OCBR in ASAC shows a continuously increasing trend since *AD 1950, which is possibly due to the high autochthonous and allochthonous primary production and subsequently high sedimentation rate in the lakes. This increasing carbon burial is possibly related to both climatic changes and enhanced anthropogenic activities, such as land use change, deforestation, and eutrophication in the lake. 9Distributed secure quantum machine learning显示文摘Distributed secure quantum machine learning(DSQML) enables a classical client with little quantum technology to delegate a remote quantum machine learning to the quantum server with the privacy data preserved. Moreover, DSQML can be extended to a more general case that the client does not have enough data, and resorts both the remote quantum server and remote databases to perform the secure machine learning. Here we propose a DSQML protocol that the client can classify two-dimensional vectors to different clusters, resorting to a remote small-scale photon quantum computation processor. The protocol is secure without leaking any relevant information to the Eve. Any eavesdropper who attempts to intercept and disturb the learning process can be noticed. 11Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 14Evaluation of droplet deposition and effect of variable-rate application by a manned helicopter with AG-NAV Guía system显示文摘The variable-rate application is an important aspect of precision agriculture.In order to determine the regular patterns of droplet deposition and compare the actual variable-rate spraying effect of the AS350B3e helicopter with the AG-NAV Guía system,spray tests were conducted with different operating parameters and operating methods.In this study,the deposition distribution of droplets in the effective swath area was evaluated for six single-pass applications at four different flight velocities.The effects of adding adjuvant on droplet deposition,drift and droplet size were compared,and the actual variable effect of the forth-back application was verified.The analysis results showed that the position of the effective swath area was affected by natural wind velocity and wind direction,and would shift to the downwind direction area from the helicopter route of a different degree.The effective swath width increased slowly and then decreased sharply with the increase of flight velocity.It was found that flight velocity of 100 km/h was the peak inflection point of effective spray width variation.Moreover,the effect of flight velocity on the distribution uniformity of droplet deposition in the effective swath area was not significant.In the single-pass application of 90 km/h,adding adjuvant could increase droplet size in the effective swath area.The deposition increased by 8.98%,and the total drift decreased by 28.65%,of which the upwind drift decreased by 28.31%and the downwind drift decreased by 29.06%.In the forth-back application of 90 km/h,the error between actual application volume and system setting dose was 12%.The results of this study can provide valuable references for future research and practices on variable-rate aerial applications by manned helicopters.Weixiang Yao Yubin Lan Sheng Wen Huihui Zhang Yali Zhang Juan Wang Chunchun Xie 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,1:6
15Urbanization effect on precipitation over the Pearl River Delta based on CMORPH data显示文摘Based on the satellite data from the Climate Prediction Center morphing(CMORPH) at very high spatial and temporal resolution, the effects of urbanization on precipitation were assessed over the Pearl River Delta(PRD) metropolitan regions of China. CMORPH data well estimates the precipitation features over the PRD. Compared to the surrounding rural areas, the PRD urban areas experience fewer and shorter precipitation events with a lower precipitation frequency(ratio of rainy hours, about 3 days per year less); however, short-duration heavy rain events play a more significant role over the PRD urban areas. 17Ultra-sensitive Nanoprobe Modified with Tumor Cell Membrane for UCL/MRI/PET Multimodality Precise Imaging of Triple-Negative Breast Cancer显示文摘Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is a subtype of breast cancer in which the estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor are not expressed,and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 is not amplified or overexpressed either,which make the clinical diagnosis and treatment very challenging.Molecular imaging can provide an effective way to diagnose TNBC.Upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs),are a promising new generation of molecular imaging probes.However,UCNPs still need to be improved for tumor-targeting ability and biocompatibility.This study describes a novel probe based on cancer cell membrane-coated upconversion nanoparticles(CCm-UCNPs),owing to the low immunogenicity and homologous-targeting ability of cancer cell membranes,and modified multifunctional UCNPs.This probe exhibits excellent performance in breast cancer molecular classification and TNBC diagnosis through UCL/MRI/PET tri-modality imaging in vivo.By using this probe,MDA-MB-231 was successfully differentiated between MCF-7 tumor models in vivo.Based on the tumor imaging and molecular classification results,the probe is also expected to be modified for drug delivery in the future,contributing to the treatment of TNBC.The combination of nanoparticles with biomimetic cell membranes has the potential for multiple clinical applications.Hanyi Fang Mengting Li Qingyao Liu Yongkang Gai Lujie Yuan Sheng Wang Xiao Zhang Min Ye Yongxue Zhang Mingyuan Gao Yi Hou Xiaoli Lan 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,5:5
18Exposure Effects of Terahertz Waves on Primary Neurons and Neuron-like Cells Under Nonthermal Conditions显示文摘Objective This study aimed to explore the potential effects of terahertz(THz) waves on primary cultured neurons from 4 rat brain regions(hippocampus, cerebral cortex, cerebellum, and brainstem)and 3 kinds of neuron-like cells(MN9 D, PC12, and HT22 cells) under nonthermal conditions.Methods THz waves with an output power of 50(0.16 THz) and 10(0.17 THz) m W with exposure times of 6 and 60 min were used in this study. Analysis of temperature change, neurite growth, cell membrane roughness, micromorphology, neurotransmitters and synaptic-related proteins(SYN and PSD95) was used to evaluate the potential effects.Results Temperature increase caused by the THz wave was negligible. THz waves induced significant neurotransmitter changes in primary hippocampal, cerebellar, and brainstem neurons and in MN9 D and PC12 cells. THz wave downregulated SYN expression in primary hippocampal neurons and downregulated PSD95 expression in primary cortical neurons.Conclusion Different types of cells responded differently after THz wave exposure, and primary hippocampal and cortical neurons and MN9 D cells were relatively sensitive to the THz waves.
