| 2 | Anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombogenic effects of atorvastatin in acute ischemic stroke显示文摘Atorvastatin decreases inflammation and thrombogenesis in patients with carotid artery plaque. Atorvastatin is administered to lower lipid levels, but its anti-inflammatory and anti-thrombogenic effects remain unclear. Eighty-nine patients from northeastern China with acute ischemic stroke caused by large-artery atherosclerosis were randomly divided into the study and control groups. All patients received routine treatment, including antiplatelet therapy, circulatory support, and symp-tomatic treatment. The study group (n=43) also received daily atorvastatin 20 mg/d, and the control group (n=46) received daily placebo pills containing glucose. After 4 weeks, the levels of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, and D-dimer were significantly lower in the study group than in the control group. Decreases in the levels of C-reactive protein, fibrinogen, and D-dimer were not associated with de-creases in the levels of triacylglycerol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol. | 3 | Very high baseline HIV viremia impairs efficacy of non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor-based ART:a longterm observation in treatment-naïve patients显示文摘Background:It is not completely clear whether a very high pre-therapy viral load(≥500000 copies/ml)can impair the virological response.The aim of this study was to examine the influence of very high baseline HIV-RNA levels on long-term virological responses under one type of regimen.Methods:A retrospective study was performed based on data from two multicenter cohorts in China from January to November 2009,and from May 2013 to December 2015.Untreated HIV infected adults between 18 and 65 years old were recruited before receiving non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor-based regimen.All patients had baseline HIV-RNA levels over 500 copies/ml,good adherence,and were followed for at least 24 weeks.Virological suppression was defined as the first HIV-RNA<50 copies/ml.Virological failure was defined as any of incomplete viral suppression(HIV-RNA≥200 copies/ml without virological suppression within 24 weeks of treatment)and viral rebound(confirmed HIV-RNA level≥50 copies/ml after virological suppression).Chi-square test,Kaplan–Meier analysis,Cox proportional hazards model and Logistic regression were used to compare virological response between each pretreated viral load stratum.Results:A total of 758 treatment-naïve HIV patients in China were enlisted.Median follow-up time(IQR)was 144(108–276)weeks.By week 48,rates of virological suppression in three groups(<100000,100000–500000 and≥500000 copies/ml)were 94.1,85.0,and 63.8%,respectively(P<0.001).Very high baseline HIV viremia over 500000 copies/ml were found to be associated with delayed virological suppression(≥500000 vs<100000,adjusted relative hazard=0.455,95%CI:0.32–0.65;P<0.001)as well as incomplete viral suppression(≥500000 vs<100000,adjusted odds ratio[aOR]=6.084,95%CI:2.761–13.407;P<0.001)and viral rebound(≥50000 vs<100000,aOR=3.671,95%CI:1.009–13.355,P=0.048).Conclusions:Very high levels of pre-treatment HIV-RNA were related with delayed efficacy of NNRTI-based ART and increased risk of treatment failure.More potent initial regimens should be considered for those with this clinical character. | Shuai Chen Yang Han Xiao-Jing Song Yan-ling Li Ting Zhu Hong-Zhou Lu Xiao-Ping Tang Tong Zhang Min Zhao Yun He Sheng-Hua He Min Wang Yong-Zhen Li Shao-Biao Huang Yong Li Jing Liu Wei Cao Tai-Sheng Li | 2020 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,3: | 10 |
| 4 | Petrogenesis, Tectonic Evolution and Geothermal Implications of Mesozoic Granites in the Huangshadong Geothermal Field, South China显示文摘Mesozoic multi-stage tectono-magmatic events produced widely distributed granitoids in the South China Block. Huangshadong(HSD) is located in south-eastern South China Block, where closely spaced hot springs accompany outcrops of Mesozoic granites. New data on whole-rock geochemistry, zircon U-Pb geochronology, and zircon Lu-Hf isotopes are presented, to study the petrogenesis and tectonic evolution of the granites, and to explore the relationship between granites and geothermal anomalies. Zircon U-Pb isotopes display three periods of granites in the HSD area: Indosinian(ca. 253 Ma, G4) muscovite-bearing monzonitic granite, early Yanshanian(ca. 175–155 Ma, G5 and G3) monzonitic granite and granodiorite, and late Yanshanian(ca. 140 Ma, G1 and G2) biotite monzonitic granite. In petrogenetic type, granites of the three periods are I-type granite. Among them, G1, G2, G3, and G4 are characterized by high fractionation, with high values of SiO2, alkalis, Ga/Al, and Rb/Sr, and depletion in Sr, Ba, Zr, Nb, Ti, REEs, with low(La/Yb)N, Nb/Ta, and Zr/Hf ratios and negative Eu anomalies. In terms of tectonic setting, 253 Ma G4 may be the product of partial melting of the ancient lower crust under post-orogenic extensional tectonics, as the closure of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean resulted in an intracontinental orogeny. At 175 Ma, the subduction of the Pacific Plate became the dominant tectonic system, and low-angle subduction of the Paleo-Pacific Plate facilitated partial melting of the subducted oceanic crust and basement to generate the hornblende-bearing I-type granodiorite. As the dip angle of the subducting plate increased, the continental arc tectonic setting was transformed to back-arc extension, inducing intense partial melting of the lower crust at ca. 158 Ma and resulting in the most frequent granitic magmatic activity in the South China hinterland. When slab foundering occurred at ca. 140 Ma, underplating of mantle-derived magmas caused melting of the continental crust, generating extensive highly fractionated granites in HSD. Combining the granitic evolution of HSD and adjacent areas and radioactive heat production rates, it is suggested that highly fractionated granites are connected to the enrichments in U and Th with magma evolution. The high radioactive heat derived from the Yanshanian granites is an important part of the crustal heat, which contributes significantly to the terrestrial heat flow. Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of stearic imidazoline (IM) were prepared on copper surface. The copper electrode modified by IM was detected by electrochemical impedance spectros- copy (EIS),Tafel polarization curves, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Fourial transform reflection spectroscopy (FTIR). The biggest inhibition efficiency for copper corrosion of IM was 99% in NaCl solution according to EIS results. The XPS results provided evidence that the IM was adsorbed on copper surface. | 6 | Effect of Ce on the cleanliness, microstructure and mechanical properties of high strength low alloy steel Q690E in industrial production process显示文摘In order to improve the strength and toughness of Q690 E steel sheets,the effect of rare earth element Ce on the strength and toughness of Q690 E steel was studied by means of transmission electron microscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and metallographic microscope.The results showed that the addition of Ce in steel limited the combination of S with Mn and Ca,transformed Al2O3 inclusion into spherical CeAlO3 inclusion,and modified the precipitate form of some composite inclusions of TiN and sulfide oxides into TiN precipitation alone.The inclusions were spheroidizing.The size of inclusions was decreased from 3–5μm to 1–2μm,and the distribution was dispersed.Ce played a role in purifying molten steel through desulphurization and deoxidization.Meanwhile,the addition of Ce in steel effectively increased the nucleation particles in the liquid phase,improved the nucleation rate,enlarged the equiaxed grain refinement area,and limited the development of columnar crystals.The average grain size of slab decreased from 45.76 to 35.25μm,and the proportion of large grain size(>50μm)decreased from 40.41%to 23.74%.The macrostructural examination of slab was improved from B0.5 to C2.0,which realized the refinement of the solidified structure and reduced the banded structure of hot rolled plate.In addition,due to the inheritance of refined structure in the upstream,the recrystallization of deformed austenite and the growth of grain after recrystallization were restrained,and a refined tempered sorbite structure was obtained.When rare earth element Ce was added,the width of the martensite lath bundle was narrowed from about 500 nm to about 200 nm,which realized a remarkable grain refinement strengthening and toughening effect.Mechanical properties such as tensile,yield,and low-temperature impact toughness were significantly improved. | Hao Wang Yan-ping Bao Ming Zhao Min Wang Xiao-ming Yuan Shuai Gao | 2019 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2019,26,11: | 7 |

| 9 | Efficacy and safety of combined directly acting antivirals for treatment of Chinese chronic hepatitis C patients in a real-world setting显示文摘AIM To assess the efficacy and safety of combined directly acting antivirals(DAAs) for the treatment of Chinese chronic hepatitis C(CHC) patients in a real-world setting.METHODS Hospitalized CHC patients who were treated with DAAs at Peking University First Hospital between January 2015 and December 2016 were enrolled. Samples and clinical data were collected at 0 wk, 2 wk, 4 wk, 8 wk, 12 wk, or 24 wk during DAAs treatment and at 4 wk, 12 wk, and 24 wk after the end of treatment. RESULTS Fifty-four patients who underwent DAAs treatment were included in our study, of whom 83.3%(45/54) achieved rapid virological response at 2 wk after treatment initiation(RVR 2) and 94.4%(51/54)achieved sustained virological response at 24 wk after the end of treatment(SVR 24). Serum creatinine and uric acid levels at the end of treatment were significantly increased compared with baseline levels(83.6 ± 17.9 vs 88.8 ± 19.4, P 01 < 0.001; 320.8 ± 76.3 vs 354.5 ± 87.6, P 01 < 0.001), and no significant improvements were observed at 24 w after the end of treatment(83.6 ± 17.9 vs 86.8 ± 19.1, P 02 = 0.039; 320.8 ± 76.3 vs 345.9 ± 89.4, P 02 = 0.001). The total frequency of adverse events(AEs) during treatment was 33.3%(18/54), with major AEs being fatigue(16.7%), headache(7.4%), anorexia(7.4%), and insomnia(5.6%). | 13 | Morphology and composition of particles emitted from a port fuel injection gasoline vehicle under real-world driving test cycles显示文摘Traffic vehicles, many of which are powered by port fuel injection(PFI) engines, are major sources of particulate matter in the urban atmosphere. We studied particles from the emission of a commercial PFI-engine vehicle when it was running under the states of cold start, hot start, hot stabilized running, idle and acceleration, using a transmission electron microscope and an energy-dispersive X-ray detector. Results showed that the particles were mainly composed of organic, soot, and Ca-rich particles, with a small amount of S-rich and metal-containing particles, and displayed a unimodal size distribution with the peak at 600 nm. The emissions were highest under the cold start running state, followed by the hot start, hot stabilized, acceleration, and idle running states. Organic particles under the hot start and hot stabilized running states were higher than those of other running states. Soot particles were highest under the cold start running state. Under the idle running state, the relative number fraction of Ca-rich particles was high although their absolute number was low. These results indicate that PFI-engine vehicles emit substantial primary particles,which favor the formation of secondary aerosols via providing reaction sites and reaction catalysts, as well as supplying soot, organic, mineral and metal particles in the size range of the accumulation mode. | 15 | Intrinsic defects in biomass-derived carbons facilitate electroreduction of CO2显示文摘Developing efficient carbon-based metal-free electrocatalysts can bridge the gap between laboratory studies and practical applications of CO2 reduction.However,along with the ambiguous understanding of the active sites in carbon-based electrocatalysts,carbon-based electrocatalysts with high selectivity and satisfactory stability for electroreduction of CO2 remain rare.Here,using the nitrogen rich silk cocoon as a precursor,carbon-based electrocatalysts with intrinsic defects can be prepared for efficient and long-term electroreduction of CO2 by a simple two-step carbonization.The obtained electrocatalyst can catalyze CO2 reduction to CO with a Faradaic efficiency of^89%and maintain good selectivity for about 10 days.Particularly,our experimental studies suggest that in-plane defects are the main active sites on which the rate-determining step for CO2 reduction should be the direct electron transfer to CO2 but not the proton-coupled electron transfer.Further theoretical calculations consistently demonstrate that the intrinsic defects in carbon matrix,particularly the pentagon-containing defects,act as main active sites to accelerate the direct electron transfer for CO2 reduction.In addition,our synthetic approach can convert egg white into efficient catalysts for CO2 electroreduction.These findings,providing new insights into the biomass-derived catalysts,should pave the way for fabricating efficient and stable carbon-based electrocatalysts with catalytically active defects by using naturally abundant precursors. | Mengjie Chen Shuai Wang Haiyan Zhang Ping Zhang Ziqi Tian Min Lu Xiaoji Xie Ling Huang Wei Huang | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,3: | 4 |

| 18 | Campus Vibration in Nanwangshan Campus,China University of Geosciences at Wuhan Monitored by Short-Period Seismometers显示文摘Continuous seismic observations can record seismic waveforms, and ambient noise, for the purposes of earthquake researches and other applications. Here we deploy three digital seismometers(EPS-2) in and around the Nanwangshan Campus of the China University of Geosciences(Wuhan). This network was running from April 9 to May 9 of 2018. During this period, the seismometers recorded the May 4, 2018 M6.9 Hawaii earthquake. From the recorded waveforms, we could observe clearly the P and S arrivals, and the corresponding particle motions. Analysis of continuous observations of ambient noise shows obvious fluctuation of vibration intensity inside of the campus. The campus is quietest from 0 to 5 am. From 5 am on, the vibration intensity increases, and reaches the peak of entire day at 12 am. The amplitude then decreases to a very low level at 19:30 to 20:00 pm, and reaches another strong noisy time at 21:00 to 21:30 pm. After 21:30 pm, the intensity goes down slowly. We also observed seismic signals that were generated by the interaction of speed-control hump cars and ground. By taking the envelope and smooth operations, we observe different characteristics for different car speeds, which suggests that seismic monitoring approaches can be used for speed measurement of cars. This kind of small seismic network running in a real time fashion, would greatly help understanding of the sources of ambient noise at high frequency bands in interested areas. | 19 | Crustal Thermo-Structure and Geothermal Implication of the Huangshadong Geothermal Field in Guangdong Province显示文摘Dense distribution of granites and surrounding hot springs, the high anomalous heating rates of geothermal fluids and the high geothermal gradients in shallow crust in Southeast China are revealed by previous geothermal explorations. However, there have always been debates on the genesis of geothermal anomalies of Southeast China. It is imperative to look into the genesis mechanism of geothermal anomalies through selecting a typical geothermal field, and constructing fine crustal thermostructure. In this study, in-depth excavation is implemented for the previous data of geophysical exploration and deep drilling exploration in the Huangshadong area. We synthetically analyze the results of radioactive heat productions(RHPs), thermophysical properties of rocks and audio-frequency magnetotellurics(AMT) sounding. This study concludes that the coefficient of radioactive heat generation(RHG) of crustal rocks and conduction heat of concealed granites is the main formation mechanism of geothermal anomalies of South China, where occurs a Great Granite Province. There is a regional indicating implication for the genesis of geothermal anomalies, taking the Huangshadong geothermal field as a typical example.
