5Differences in left and right carotid plaque vulnerability in patients with bilateral carotid plaques:a CARE-II study显示文摘Background and purpose Atherosclerosis is a very complex process influenced by various systemic and local factors.Therefore,in patients with bilateral carotid plaques(BCPs),there may be differences in carotid plaque vulnerability between the sides.We aimed to investigate the differences in BCP characteristics in patients with BCPs using magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging(MR-VWI).Methods Participants with BCPs were selected for subanalysis from a multicentre study of Chinese Atherosclerosis Risk Evaluation II.We measured carotid plaque burden,identified each plaque component and measured their volume or area bilaterally on MR-VWI.Paired comparisons of the burden and components of BCPs were performed.Results In all,540 patients with BCPs were eligible for analysis.Compared with the right carotid artery(CA),larger mean lumen area(p<0.001),larger mean wall area(p=0.025),larger mean total vessel area(p<0.001)and smaller normalised wall index(p=0.006)were found in the left CA.Regarding plaque components,only the prevalence of lipid-rich necrotic core(LRNC)in the left CA was higher(p=0.026).For patients with a vulnerable plaque component coexisting on both sides,only the intraplaque haemorrhage(IPH)volume(p=0.011)was significantly greater in the left CA than in the right CA.Conclusions There were asymmetries in plaque growth and evolution between BCPs.The left carotid plaques were more likely to have larger plaque burden,higher prevalence of LRNC and greater IPH volume,which may contribute to the lateralisation of ischaemic stroke in the cerebral hemispheres.Sai Shao Honglu Shi Guangbin Wang Rui Li Qinjian Sun Bin Yao Hiroko Watase Daniel S Hippe Chun Yuan Xihai Zhao 2023Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,4:1
6Development and evaluation of a predictive nomogram for survival in heat stroke patients: a retrospective cohort study显示文摘BACKGROUND:This study aimed to establish an eff ective nomogram to predict the survival of heat stroke(HS)based on risk factors.METHODS:This was a retrospective,observational multicenter cohort study.We analyzed patients diagnosed with HS,who were treated between May 1 and September 30,2018 at 15 tertiary hospitals from 11 cities in Northern China.RESULTS:Among the 175 patients,32 patients(18.29%)died before hospital discharge.After the univariate analysis,mechanical ventilation,initial mean arterial pressure<70 mmHg,maximum heart rate,lab results on day 1(white blood cell count,alanine aminotransferase,creatinine),and Glasgow admission prediction score were included in multivariate analysis.Multivariate Cox regression showed that invasive ventilation,initial mean arterial pressure<70 mmHg(1 mmHg=0.133 kPa),and Glasgow admission prediction score were independent risk factors for HS.The nomogram was established for predicting 7-d and 14-d survival in the training cohort.The nomogram exhibited a concordance index(C-index)of 0.880(95%confidence interval[95%CI]0.831-0.930)by bootstrapping validation(B=1,000).Furthermore,the nomogram performed better when predicting 14-d survival,compared to 7-d survival.The prognostic index cut-off value was set at 2.085,according to the operating characteristic curve for overall survival prediction.The model showed good calibration ability in the internal and external validation datasets.CONCLUSION:A novel nomogram,integrated with prognostic factors,was proposed;it was highly predictive of the survival in HS patients.Fei Shao Xian Shi Shu-hua Huo Qing-yu Liu Ji-xue Shi Jian Kang Ping Gong Sheng-tao Yan Guo-xing Wang Li-jie Qin Fei Wang Ke Feng Feng-ying Chen Yong-jie Yin Tao Ma Yan Li Yang Wu Hao Cui Chang-xiao Yu Song Yang Wei Gan Sai Wang Liu-ye-zi Du Ming-chen Zhao Zi-ren Tang Shen Zhao 2022World Journal of Emergency Medicine2022,13,5:1
7Scanning dual-microcomb spectroscopy显示文摘Dual-comb spectroscopy(DCS) is a powerful tool in molecular spectroscopy benefiting from the advantages of high resolution and short measurement time. The recently developed soliton microcomb(SMC) can potentially transfer the dual-comb method to an on-chip platform. In this paper, we demonstrate DCS using two frequency scanning SMCs, termed scanning dual-microcomb spectroscopy(SDMCS). The two SMCs are generated by an auxiliary-assisted thermal balance scheme, and the pump laser frequency sweeps over one free spectral range of the microresonator(~49 GHz) using a feedback control system. The proposed SDMCS has a spectral resolution of 12.5 MHz, which is determined by the minimum sweeping step of the pump laser. 8Comparison of efficacy of two different silicone hydrogel bandage contact lenses after T-PRK显示文摘AIM:To compare the efficacy between two different silicone hydrogel bandage contact lenses after transepithelial photorefractive keratectomy(T-PRK).METHODS:In this randomized controlled trial,a total of 89 patients(178 eyes) who underwent T-PRK at the Qingdao Eye Hospital from October to December 2019 were selected.One random eye wore a Senofilcon A bandage contact lens after surgery,and the other eye a Balafilcon A bandage contact lens.Pain scores,uncorrected visual acuity(UCVA),spherical equivalent(SE),corneal epithelial healing status,epithelial thickness,bandage lenses deposits,lenses movement,and ocular surface conditions were measured and compared.RESULTS:There were no differences between the two groups in UCVA,SE,corneal epithelial healing status,corneal epithelial thickness,tear river heights and tear film rupture time at each follow-up visit.However,postoperative pain scores in the Senofilcon A group were significantly lower than those of the Balafilcon A group(F_(intergroups)=67.833,P<0.001;F_(time)=383.773,P<0.001;F_(interaction)=57.344,P<0.001).The duration of pain in eyes in the Senofilcon A group was shorter than that of the Balafilcon A group(t=-3.326,P=0.001).The surface deposition scores and movement scores of Senofilcon A bandage lenses on the first and fourth days after surgery were lower than those of Balafilcon A bandage lenses(Z=-5.385,-6.782,P<0.001;Z=-8.336,-8.906,P<0.001).CONCLUSION:Both Senofilcon A and Balafilcon A bandage lenses have good efficacy after T-PRK.Senofilcon A lenses are associated with less pain and more comfort compared to Balafilcon A.Hua Li Ting Shao Jia-Fan Zhang Lin Leng Sai Liu Ke-Li Long 2022International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2022,15,2:0
9Terabit FSO communication based on a soliton microcomb显示文摘Free-space optical(FSO)communication technology is a promising approach to establish a secure wireless link,which has the advantages of excellent directionality,large bandwidth,multiple services,low mass and less power requirements,and easy and fast deployments.Increasing the communication capacity is the perennial goal in both scientific and engineer communities.In this paper,we experimentally demonstrate a Tbit/s parallel FSO communication system using a soliton microcomb as a multiple wavelength laser source.Two communication terminals are installed in two buildings with a straight-line distance of~1 km.102 comb lines are modulated by10 Gbit/s differential phase-shift keying signals and demodulated using a delay-line interferometer.When the transmitted optical power is amplified to 19.8 dBm,42 optical channels have optical signal-to-noise ratios higher than 27 dB and bit error rates less than 1×10^(-9).Our experiment shows the feasibility of a wavelength-division multiplexing FSO communication system which suits the ultra-high-speed wireless transmission application scenarios in future satellite-based communications,disaster recovery,defense,last mile problems in networks and remote sensing,and so on.WEN SHAO YANG WANG SHUAIWEI JIA ZHUANG XIE DUORUI GAO WEI WANG DONGQUAN ZHANG PELXUAN LIAO BRENT ELITTLE SAI TCHU WEI ZHAO WENFU ZHANG WEIQIANG WANG XIAOPING XIE 2022Photonics Research2022,10,12:0
10Impact Force Magnitude and Location Recognition of Composite Materials显示文摘In order to identify the location and magnitude of the impact force accurately,determine the damage range of the structure and accelerate the health monitoring of key components of the composite,this paper studies the location and magnitude of the impact force of composite plates by an inverse method.Firstly,a PZT sensor mounted on the material plate is used to collect the response signal generated by the impact force,which is from several impact locations,and establish transfer functions between the impact location and the PZT sensor.Secondly,this paper applies several forces to any location on the material plate,and collects the corresponding response signals,and reconstructs the impact force of several locations in turn.Finally,according to the reconstruction result of each location,the correct impact location is identified.Then,an improved regularization method is used to optimize the reconstructed impact force and accurate the magnitude of the impact force.The comparison experiments prove that the recognition error of this method is smaller.Yajie Sun Yanqing Yuan Qi Wang Sai Ji Lihua Wang Shao’en Wu 2020Computers, Materials & Continua2020,,9:0

14Current state and predicted technological trends in global railway intelligent digital transformation显示文摘Purpose–In recent years,railway systems worldwide have faced challenges such as the modernization of engineering projects,efficient management of intelligent digital railway equipment,rapid growth in passenger and freight transport demands,customized transport services and ubiquitous transport safety.The transformation toward intelligent digital transformation in railways has emerged as an effective response to the formidable challenges confronting the railway industry,thereby becoming an inevitable global trend in railway development.Design/methodology/approach–This paper,therefore,conducts a comprehensive analysis of the current state of global railway intelligent digital transformation,focusing on the characteristics and applications of intelligent digital transformation technology.It summarizes and analyzes relevant technologies and applicable scenarios in the realm of railway intelligent digital transformation,theoretically elucidating the development process of global railway intelligent digital transformation and,in practice,providing guidance and empirical examples for railway intelligence and digital transformation.Findings–Digital and intelligent technologies follow a wave-like pattern of continuous iterative evolution,progressing from the early stages,to a period of increasing attention and popularity,then to a phase of declining interest,followed by a resurgence and ultimately reaching a mature stage.Originality/value–The results offer reference and guidance to fully leverage the opportunities presented by the latest wave of the digitalization revolution,accelerate the overall upgrade of the railway industry and promote global collaborative development in railway intelligent digital transformation.Ping Li Rui Xue Sai Shao Yuhao Zhu Yi Liu 2023Railway Sciences2023,2,4:0
