| 1 | Small-animal PET demonstrates brain metabolic change after using bevacizumab in a rat model of cerebral ischemic injury显示文摘To evaluate the effect of bevacizumab on cerebral ischemia,we used 2-deoxy-2-^(18)F-fluoro-D-glucose(^(18)F-FDG)small-animal positron emission tomography(PET)in the middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO)rat model.After baseline neurologic function tests and PET studies,MCAO Sprague-Dawley rats received bevacizumab or normal saline(controls).Weekly PET imaging and neurologic function tests showed that the^(18)F-FDG accumulation in the bevacizumab group was similar to that in the controls during the first 2 weeks,but lower than in controls at weeks 3 and 4.However,no difference was found in neurological scores between the groups.The number of von Willebrand factor-positive cells in the bevacizumab group was lower than that in controls.The expression of vascular endothelial growth factor was higher than in controls at week 4.These results suggested that bevacizumab does not influence functional recovery in this model of cerebral ischemia during a 4-week period,but inhibits vascular formation and metabolic recovery,which may be considered in cancer patients with a recent ischemic stroke. | Ying Dong Fahuan Song Jianjuan Ma Xuexin He Said Amer Weizhong Gu Mei Tian | 2014 | Neuroscience Bulletin2014,30,5: | 3 |

| 3 | La^3+ doped LiCo0.25Zn0.25Fe2O4 spinel ferrite nanocrystals:Insights on structural,optical and magnetic properties显示文摘This paper addresses the manipulation of structural,morphology,optical and magnetic properties of LiCo0.25Zn0.25Fe2 O4 ferrite via incorporation of different proportions of La^3+at the expense of iron ions using a sol-gel method.The samples were characterized using the X-ray diffraction technique(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR)spectroscopy,the energy dispersive X-ray spectra(EDX),inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy(ICP-OES),high resolution scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)surface area analysis,ultraviolet-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV-DRS),and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)technique.The Rietveld refinements of the samples indicate that at higher concentrations of La^3+,nanostructures with dual phase,i.e.cubic spinel and orthorhombic LaFeO3 perovskite with space group(Pbnm)appear.Optical studies show that the energy band gap(Eg)of the bare LiCo0.25Zn0.25Fe2 O4 ferrite sample(2.18 eV)reaches up to 2.47 eV at x=0.06 and above this concentration,it drops sharply to 2.00 eV.Although the saturation magnetization and the coercivity of LiCo0.25Zn0.25LaxFe2-xO4 are lower than that of LiCo0.25Zn0.25Fe2 O4 NPs.Overall,the superparamagnetic nature and low values of saturation magnetization and coercivity of LiCo0.25Zn0.25LaxFe2-xO4 NPs are suitable to be applied in transformers core. | M.I.A.Abdel Maksoud Ahmed El-Ghandour A.H.Ashour M.M.Atta Soraya Abdelhaleem Ahmed H.El-Hanbaly Ramy Amer Fahim Said M.Kassem M.S.Shalaby A.S.Awed | 2021 | Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,1: | 2 |

| 10 | An explicit and novel structure,lattice dynamics,and photoemission of La-doped nanocrystalline SrZrO_(3) perovskite显示文摘As no complete and comprehensive studies have been previously reported for La-doped nanocrystalline SrZrO_(3)(SZO),we researched herein a detailed investigation for pure and La-doped samples.A modified solid-state reaction process,including successive cycles of milling and sintering at high temperature,was followed to produce SZO and Sr_(0.9)La_(0.1)ZrO_(3)(SLZO)powdered ingots.Rietveld analysis of X-ray diffractometer data predicts that the two samples exhibit orthorhombic structure with an increase in crystallite size by~25%for doped sample.A great reduction in Raman modes intensity(~60%)and an annihilation of several vibration modes were detected using Raman spectroscopy.The degree of ordering on the B-site was recorded to be higher in La-doped sample.According to ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)absorption,a decrease in the optical gap width(E_(g))from 4.40 eV to 4.21 eV was achieved by La incorporation due to the presence of additional defect states such as oxygen and Sr vacancies at the band edge.The process of electron-hole recombination was studied using photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy.Deconvolution of PL spectra yielded four emission bands:one green band,one blue band,and two violet bands.Highly intense violet emission atλ=393 nm approximately five times greater than that detected for pure SZO is realized as La^(3+)substitutes for Sr^(2+).Such property nominates SLZO for technological applications requiring highly intense violet emission,e.g.,light-emitting diodes. | Kamilia Sedeek Nahed Makram Hanan Hantour Taghreed Zaghloul Amer Shimaa Ali Said | 2021 | Rare Metals2021,40,1: | 0 |
| 11 | Isolation and characterization of a Neisseria sp. from the captive wild goose (Anser anser)显示文摘The present study investigated 15 dead cases of captive wild goslings(Anser anser),which were bred in a small poultry farm in Shandong Province,China.The examined cases presented diverse clinical signs accompanied with neurological manifestations and fatal outcomes.Bacterial culture identified the gram-negative Neisseria sp.from the brain homogenate of most examined cases(10/15,66.7%).The isolated bacteria were identified based on morphologic characteristics,biochemical tests and 16S rDNA typing.Results proved that 1 identical bacterial strain(BNO09-3)was isolated from the positive cases.The phylogeny based on the 16S rDNA gene sequences indicated that this isolate has a close relationship with various strains of genus Neisseria sp.isolated from liver and feces of duck.This is the first report of Neisseria sp.causing fatality in captive wild geese in China. | Chengmin WANG Jing LUO Haijing WANG Said AMER Hua DING Ying DONG Hongxuan HE | 2016 | Integrative Zoology2016,11,2: | 0 |
