2Kilometers Long Graphene-Coated Optical Fibers for Fast Thermal Sensing显示文摘The combination of optical fiber with graphene has greatly expanded the application regimes of fiber optics,from dynamic optical control and ultrafast pulse generation to high precision sensing.However,limited by fabrication,previous graphene-fiber samples are typically limited in the micrometer to centimeter scale,which cannot take the inherent advantage of optical fibers—longdistance optical transmission.Here,we demonstrate kilometers long graphene-coated optical fiber(GCF)based on industrial graphene nanosheets and coating technique.The GCF shows unusually high thermal diffusivity of 24.99 mm^(2) s^(-1) in the axial direction,measured by a thermal imager directly.This enables rapid thermooptical response both in optical fiber Bragg grating sensors at one point(18-fold faster than conventional fiber)and in long-distance distributed fiber sensing systems based on backward Rayleigh scattering in optical fiber(15-fold faster than conventional fiber).This work realizes the industrial-level graphene-fiber production and provides a novel platform for two-dimensional material-based optical fiber sensing applications.Yiyong Guo Bing Han Junting Du Shanshan Cao Hua Gao Ning An Yiwei Li Shujie An Zengling Ran Yue Lin Wencai Ren Yunjiang Rao Baicheng Yao 2021Research2021,,1:2

4Spectrally programmable Raman fiber laser with adaptive wavefront shaping显示文摘Raman fiber lasers(RFLs)have broadband tunability due to cascaded stimulated Raman scattering,providing extensive degrees of freedom for spectral manipulation.However,the spectral diversity of RFLs depends mainly on the wavelength flexibility of the pump,which limits the application of RFLs.Here,a spectrally programmable RFL is developed based on two-dimensional spatial-to-spectral mapping of light in multimode fibers(MMFs).Using an intracavity wavefront shaping method combined with genetic algorithm optimization,we launch light with a selected wavelength(s)at MMF output into the active part of the laser for amplification.In contrast,the light of undesired wavelengths is blocked.We demonstrate spectral shaping of the high-order RFL,including a continuously tunable single wavelength and multiple wavelengths with a designed spectral shape.Due to the simultaneous control of different wavelength regions,each order of Raman Stokes light allows flexible and independent spectral manipulation.Our research exploits light manipulation in a fiber platform with multieigenmodes and nonlinear gain,mapping spatial control to the spectral domain and extending linear light control in MMFs to active light emission,which is of great significance for applications of RFLs in optical imaging,sensing,and spectroscopy.YANLI ZHANG SHANSHAN WANG MINGZHU SHE YUNJIANG RAO WEILI ZHANG 2023Photonics Research2023,11,1:1
5Extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells delay aging through the transfer of PLAU and TIMP1显示文摘Aging increases the risks of various diseases and the vulnerability to death.Cellular senescence is a hallmark of aging that contributes greatly to aging and aging-related diseases.This study demonstrates that extracellular vesicles from human urine-derived stem cells(USC-EVs)efficiently inhibit cellular senescence in vitro and in vivo.The intravenous injection of USC-EVs improves cognitive function,increases physical fitness and bone quality,and alleviates aging-related structural changes in different organs of senescence-accelerated mice and natural aging mice.The anti-aging effects of USC-EVs are not obviously affected by the USC donors’ages,genders,or health status.Proteomic analysis reveals that USC-EVs are enriched with plasminogen activator urokinase(PLAU)and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1(TIMP1).These two proteins contribute importantly to the anti-senescent effects of USC-EVs associated with the inhibition of matrix metalloproteinases,cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 2A(P16INK4a),and cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A(P21cip1).These findings suggest a great potential of autologous USC-EVs as a promising anti-aging agent by transferring PLAU and TIMP1 proteins.Shanshan Rao Zehui He Zun Wang Hao Yin Xiongke Hu Yijuan Tan Tengfei Wan Hao Zhu Yi Luo Xin Wang Hongming Li Zhenxing Wang Xinyue Hu Chungu Hong Yiyi Wang Mingjie Luo Wei Du Yuxuan Qian Siyuan Tang Hui Xie Chunyuan Chen 2024Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2024,14,3:0
6Visually Intracellular Detection of Telomerase Activity Based on DNA Strand Displacement Reaction and Gold Nanoparticle Labeling显示文摘Telomerase,which is regarded as a common biomarker for early cancer diagnostics and a potential target for clinical therapies,has attracted considerable interests concerning its detection and monitoring.Herein,we propose a sensitive method by designing a gold nanoparticle(AuNP)probe for visually intracellular detection of telomerase activity.The AuNPs were functionalized with a telomer-ase substrate primer(SH-prime).A 6-carboxy-fluorescein(FAM)modified strand(FAM-probe)was attached to the surface of AuNP through its complementary stand(SH-attach).In the absence of telomerase,the fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)from FAM to AuNPs results in efficient fluorescence quenching.In the presence of telomerase,SH-primers on AuNPs were extended with the repeat units(TTAGGGG)n.The extension sequence triggered the strand displacement of FAM-probe to restore the fluorescence signals.It is worth mentioning that the proposed strategy does not need to design complex hairpin structure and allows the meas-urement of telomerase in crude cell extracts down to 0.5 HeLa cells/μL in 2 h.In addition,the present sensing platform can be ap-plied to the visually intracellular detection of telomerase activity in living cells.Yajun Zhang Shen Yan Zhaoxin Chen Xin Jiang Shuang Rao Zhuoran Jiang Shanshan Qin Xiang Zhou Yuhao Du 2022Chinese Journal of Chemistry2022,40,6:0
7Modeling drug-induced mitochondrial toxicity with human primary cardiomyocytes显示文摘Mitochondrial toxicity induced by therapeutic drugs is a major contributor for cardiotoxicity,posing a serious threat to pharmaceutical industries and patients’lives.However,mitochondrial toxicity testing is not incorporated into routine cardiac safety screening procedures.To accurately model native human cardiomyocytes,we comprehensively evaluated mitochondrial responses of adult human primary cardiomyocytes(h PCMs)to a nucleoside analog,remdesivir(RDV).Comparison of their response to human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes revealed that the latter utilized a mitophagy-based mitochondrial recovery response that was absent in h PCMs.Accordingly,action potential duration was elongated in h PCMs,reflecting clinical incidences of RDV-induced QT prolongation.In a screen for mitochondrial protectants,we identified mitochondrial ROS as a primary mediator of RDV-induced cardiotoxicity.Our study demonstrates the utility of h PCMs in the detection of clinically relevant cardiac toxicities,and offers a framework for h PCM-based high-throughput screening of cardioprotective agents.Xiaoli Tang Hong Liu Rongjia Rao Yafei Huang Mengqi Dong Miaomiao Xu Shanshan Feng Xun Shi Li Wang Zengwu Wang Bingying Zhou 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,2:0
