1Adsorption of 17β-estradiol from aqueous solution by raw and direct/pre/post-KOH treated lotus seedpod biochar显示文摘Five biochars derived from lotus seedpod(LSP)were applied to examine and compare the adsorption capacity of 17β-estradiol(E2)from aqueous solution.The effect of KOH activation and the order of activation steps on material properties were discussed.The effect of contact time,initial concentration,p H,ionic strength and humic acid on E2 adsorption were investigated in a batch adsorption process.Experimental results demonstrated that the pseudo second-order model fitted the experimental data best and that adsorption equilibrium was reached within 20 hr.The efficiency of E2 removal increased with increasing E2 concentration and decreased with the increase of ionic strength.E2 adsorption on LSP-derived biochar(BCs)was influenced little by humic acid,and slightly affected by the solution p H when its value ranged from 4.0 to 9.0,but considerably affected at p H 10.0.Low environmental temperature is favorable for E2 adsorption.Chemisorption,π–πinteractions,monolayer adsorption and electrostatic interaction are the possible adsorption mechanisms.Comparative studies indicated that KOH activation and the order of activation steps had significant impacts on the material.Post-treated biochar exhibited better adsorption capacity for E2 than direct treated,pretreated,and raw LSP biochar.Pyrolyzed biochar at higher temperature improved E2 removal.The excellent performance of BCs in removing E2 suggested that BCs have potential in E2 treatment and that the biochar directly treated by KOH would be a good choice for the treatment of E2 in aqueous solution,with its advantages of good efficiency and simple technology.Ni Liu Yunguo Liu Guangming Zeng Jilai Gong Xiaofei Tan Jun Wen Shaobo Liu Luhua Jiang Meifang Li Zhihong Yin 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1:4
2GLUT3 induced by AMPK/CREB1 axis is key for withstanding energy stress and augments the efficacy of current colorectal cancer therapies显示文摘Cancer cells are usually characterized by hyperactive glucose metabolism,which can often lead to glucose scarcity;thus,alternative pathways to rewire cancer metabolism are required.Here,we demonstrated that GLUT3 was highly expressed in colorectal cancer(CRC)and negatively linked to CRC patient outcomes,whereas GLUT1 was not associated with CRC prognosis.Under glucoselimiting conditions,GLUT3 expedited CRC cell growth by accelerating glucose input and fuelling nucleotide synthesis.Notably,GLUT3 had a greater impact on cell growth than GLUT1 under glucose-limiting stress.Mechanistically,low-glucose stress dramatically upregulated GLUT3 via the AMPK/CREB1 pathway.Furthermore,high GLUT3 expression remarkably increased the sensitivity of CRC cells to treatment with vitamin C and vitamin C-containing regimens.Together,the results of this study highlight the importance of the AMPK/CREB1/GLUT3 pathway for CRC cells to withstand glucose-limiting stress and underscore the therapeutic potential of vitamin C in CRC with high GLUT3 expression.Weixing Dai Ye Xu Shaobo Mo Qingguo Li Jun Yu Renjie Wang Yanlei Ma Yan Ni Wenqiang Xiang Lingyu Han Long Zhang Sanjun Cai Jun Qin Wen-Lian Chen Wei Jia Guoxiang Cai 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:1
3Smooth second-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode control for reusable launch vehicles显示文摘Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to present a sliding mode attitude controller for reusable launch vehicle(RLV)which is nonlinear,coupling,and includes uncertain parameters and external disturbances.Design/methodology/approach–A smooth second-order nonsingular terminal sliding mode(NTSM)controller is proposed for RLV in reentry phase.First,a NTSM manifold is proposed for finite-time convergence.Then a smooth second sliding mode controller is designed to establish the sliding mode.An observer is utilized to estimate the lumped disturbance and the estimation result is used for feedforward compensation in the controller.Findings–It is mathematically proved that the proposed sliding mode technique makes the attitude tracking errors converge to zero in finite time and the convergence time is estimated.Simulations are made for RLV through the assumption that aerodynamic parameters and atmospheric density are perturbed.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control strategy is effective,leading to promising performance and robustness.Originality/value–By the proposed controller,the second-order sliding mode is established.The attitude tracking error converges to zero in a finite time.Meanwhile,the chattering is alleviated and a smooth control input is obtained.Shaobo Ni Jiayuan Shan 2014International Journal of Intelligent Computing and Cybernetics2014,7,1:1

5Targeting a cryptic allosteric site of SIRT6 with small-molecule inhibitors that inhibit the migration of pancreatic cancer cells显示文摘SIRT6 belongs to the conserved NAD^(+)-dependent deacetylase superfamily and mediates multiple biological and pathological processes.Targeting SIRT6 by allosteric modulators represents a novel direction for therapeutics,which can overcome the selectivity problem caused by the structural similarity of orthosteric sites among deacetylases.Here,developing a reversed allosteric strategy Allo Reverse,we identified a cryptic allosteric site,Pocket Z,which was only induced by the bi-directional allosteric signal triggered upon orthosteric binding of NAD^(+).Based on Pocket Z,we discovered an SIRT6 allosteric inhibitor named JYQ-42.JYQ-42 selectively targets SIRT6 among other histone deacetylases and effectively inhibits SIRT6 deacetylation,with an IC50 of 2.33μmol/L.JYQ-42 significantly suppresses SIRT6-mediated cancer cell migration and pro-inflammatory cytokine production.JYQ-42,to our knowledge,is the most potent and selective allosteric SIRT6 inhibitor.This study provides a novel strategy for allosteric drug design and will help in the challenging development of therapeutic agents that can selectively bind SIRT6.Qiufen Zhang Yingyi Chen Duan Ni Zhimin Huang Jiacheng Wei Li Feng Jun-Cheng Su Yingqing Wei Shaobo Ning Xiuyan Yang Mingzhu Zhao Yuran Qiu Kun Song Zhengtian Yu Jianrong Xu Xinyi Li Houwen Lin Shaoyong Lu Jian Zhang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:0
6Enhanced search sensitivity to the double beta decay of ^(136)Xe to excited states with topological signatures显示文摘The double beta decay of ^(136)Xe to excited states of 136Ba(DBD-ES)has not yet been discovered experimentally.The experimental signature of such decays,one or two gamma rays following the beta signals,can be identified more effectively in a gaseous detector with the help of topological signatures.We have investigated key parameters of particle trajectories of DBD-ES with Monte Carlo simulation data of the proposed PandaX-III detector as an example.The background rates can be reduced by about one order of magnitude while keeping more than half of signals with topological analysis.The estimated half-life sensitivity of DBD-ES can be improved by 1.8 times to 4.1×10^(23) year(90%C.L.).Similarly,the half-life sensitivity of neutrinoless double beta decay of ^(136)Xe to excited states of 136Ba can be improved by a factor of 4.8 with topological signatures.Chen Xie Kaixiang Ni Ke Han Shaobo Wang 2021Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,6:0
