1Driving Forces and Their Effects on Water Conservation Services in Forest Ecosystems in China显示文摘Identifying the driving forces that cause changes in forest ecosystem services related to water conservation is essential for the design of interventions that could enhance positive impacts as well as minimizing negative impacts. In this study, we propose an assessment concept framework model for indirect-direct-ecosystem service(IN-DI-ESS) driving forces within this context and method for index construction that considers the selection of a robust and parsimonious variable set. Factor analysis was integrated into two-stage data envelopment analysis(TS-DEA) to determine the driving forces and their effects on water conservation services in forest ecosystems at the provincial scale in China. The results showed the following. 1) Ten indicators with factor scores more than 0.8 were selected as the minimum data set. Four indicators comprising population density, per capita gross domestic product, irrigation efficiency, and per capita food consumption were the indirect driving factors, and six indicators comprising precipitation, farmland into forestry or pasture, forest cover, habitat area, water footprint, and wood extraction were the direct driving forces. 2) Spearman's rank correlation test was performed to compare the overall effectiveness in two periods: stage 1 and stage 2. The calculated coefficients were 0.245, 0.136, and 0.579, respectively, whereas the tabulated value was 0.562. This indicates that the driving forces obviously differed in terms of their contribution to the overall effectiveness and they caused changes in water conservation services in different stages. In terms of the variations in different driving force effects in the years 2000 and 2010, the overall, stage 1, and stage 2 variances were 0.020, 0.065, and 0.079 in 2000, respectively, and 0.018, 0.063, and 0.071 in 2010. This also indicates that heterogeneous driving force effects were obvious in the process during the same period. Identifying the driving forces that affect service changes and evaluating their efficiency have significant policy implications for the management of forest ecosystem services. Advanced effectiveness measures for weak regions could be improved in an appropriate manner. 3Hierarchical distributed control for decentralized battery energy storage system based on consensus algorithm with pinning node显示文摘A decentralized battery energy storage system(DBESS)is used for stabilizing power fluctuation in DC microgrids.Different state of charge(SoC)among various battery energy storage units(BESU)during operation will reduce batteries’service life.A hierarchical distributed control method is proposed in this paper for SoC balancing and power control according to dispatching center requirement in DBESS.A consensus algorithm with pinning node is employed to allocate power among BESUs in the secondary control whereas in the primary control,the local controller of BESU adjusts output power according to the reference power from secondary control.Part of BESUs are selected to be pinning node for accepting command from dispatching center while other BESUs as following nodes which exchange output power and SoC information with the adjacent nodes through communication network.After calculating reference power of each BESU by adopting consensus algorithm,the power sharing in DBESS is achieved according to their respective SoC of BESUs.Meanwhile,the total output power of DBESS follows the varying requirements of dispatching center.The stability of DBESS is also improved because of having no center controller.The feasibility of the proposed control strategy is validated by simulation results.Hanqing Yang Shihan Li Qi Li Weirong Chen 2018Protection and Control of Modern Power Systems2018,3,1:1
4Developmental validation of the novel six-dye Goldeneye^(TM)DNA ID System 35InDel kit for forensic application显示文摘Insertion/deletion polymorphisms(InDels)have been treated as a prospective and helpful genetic marker in the fields of forensic human identification,anthropology and population genetics for the past few years.In this study,we developed a six-dye multiplex typing system consisting of 34 autosomal InDels and Amelogenin for forensic application.The contained InDels were specifically selected for Chinese population with the MAF≥0.25 in East Asia,which do not overlap with the markers of Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.The typing system was named as GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel Kit,and a series of developmental validation studies including repeatability/reproducibility,concordance,accuracy,sensitivity,stability,species specificity and population genetics were conducted on this kit.We confirmed that the 35InDel kit is precise,sensitive,species specific and robust for forensic practice.Moreover,the 35InDel kit is capable of typing DNA extracted from forensic routine case-type samples as well as degraded samples and mixture samples.All markers are proved to be highly polymorphic with an average observed heterozygosity(He)of 0.4582.The combined power of discrimination(CPD)is 0.999999999999978 and the combined power of exclusion in duos(CPE_(D))and trios(CPE_(T))are 0.978837 and 0.999573,respectively,which are higher than those of the Investigator^(■)DIPplex kit.Thus,the GoldeneyeTM DNA ID System 35InDel kit is suitable for forensic human identification and could serve as a supplementary typing system for paternity testing.Qi Yang Huan Yu Yiling Qu Xiaochun Zhang Ruocheng Xia Ziwei Wang Rui Tan Lei Xiong Shihan Xi Jun Wu Yuzhen Gao Suhua Zhang Chengtao Li 2022Forensic Sciences Research2022,7,4:0
5PRMT1 promotes the proliferation and metastasis of gastric cancer cells by recruiting MLXIP for the transcriptional activation of theβ-catenin pathway显示文摘Protein arginine methyltransferase 1(PRMT1),a type I PRMT,is overexpressed in gastric cancer(GC)cells.To elucidate the function of PRMT1 in GC,PRMT1 expression in HGC-27 and MKN-45 cells was knocked down by short hairpin RNA(shRNA)or inhibited by PRMT1 inhibitors(AMI-1 or DCLX069),which resulted in inhibition of GC cell proliferation,migration,invasion,and tumorigenesis in vitro and in vivo.MLX-interacting protein(MLXIP)and Kinectin 1(KTN1)were identified as PRMT1-binding proteins.PRMT1 recruited MLXIP to the promoter ofβ-catenin,which inducedβ-catenin transcription and activated theβ-catenin signaling pathway,promoting GC cell migration and metastasis.Furthermore,KTN1 inhibited the K48-linked ubiquitination of PRMT1 by decreasing the interaction between TRIM48 and PRMT1.Collectively,our findings reveal a mechanism by which PRMT1 promotes cell proliferation and metastasis mediated by theβ-catenin signaling pathway.Feng Wang Shitong Chen Shihan Peng Xujun Zhou Houyi Tang Hanghua Liang Xi Zhong He Yang Xiaoxue Ke MuHan Lü Hongjuan Cui 2023Genes & Diseases2023,10,6:0
6Single-cell RNA landscape of the special fiber initiation process in Bombax ceiba显示文摘As a new source of natural fibers,the Bombax ceiba tree can provide thin,light,extremely soft and warm fiber material for the textile industry.Natural fibers are an ideal model system for studying cell growth and differentiation,but the molecular mechanisms that regulate fiber initiation are not fully understood.In B.ceiba,we found that fiber cells differentiate from the epidermis of the inner ovary wall.Each initiated cell then divides into a cluster of fiber cells that eventually develop into mature fibers,a process very different from the classical fiber initiation process of cotton.We used high-throughput single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)to examine the special characteristics of fiber initiation in B.ceiba.A total of 15567 high-quality cells were identified from the inner wall of the B.ceiba ovary,and 347 potential marker genes for fiber initiation cell types were identified.Two major cell types,initiated fiber cells and epidermal cells,were identified and verified by RNA in situ hybridization.A developmental trajectory analysis was used to reconstruct the process of fiber cell differentiation in B.ceiba.Comparative analysis of scRNAseq data from B.ceiba and cotton(Gossypium hirsutum)confirmed that the additional cell division process in B.ceiba is a novel species-specific mechanismfor fiber cell development.Candidate genes and key regulators that may contribute to fiber cell differentiation and division in B.ceiba were identified.This work reveals gene expression signatures during B.ceiba fiber initiation at a single-cell resolution,providing a new strategy and viewpoint for investigation of natural fiber cell differentiation and development.Yuanhao Ding Wei Gao Yuan Qin Xinping Li Zhennan Zhang Wenjie Lai Yong Yang Kai Guo Ping Li Shihan Zhou Haiyan Hu 2023Plant Communications2023,4,5:0

8Hepatoblastoma with neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis:Two case reports显示文摘We report two children with hepatoblastoma(HB)with a history of neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC).Case 1 was diagnosed with HB at 5 months of age.Liver enlargement was found during the NEC operation at 3 months of age and then was clinically diagnosed by imaging.After six chemotherapy courses,a partial hepatectomy was performed.Three months after ceasing the chemotherapy,a chest computed tomography scan suggested that distant metastasis of the tumor should be considered,and the lesion was removed.However,9 months after the operation,alpha-fetoprotein concentrations were increased,and abdominal imaging showed a recurrence of the tumor in situ,resulting in a hepatectomy.Case 2 was diagnosed with NEC shortly after birth and underwent an intestinal resection and anastomosis 1 month later.He was diagnosed with HB at 3 years of age.Hepatectomy was performed after five courses of chemotherapy.Chemotherapy was stopped after 10 courses,and alpha-fetoprotein concentrations were normal.At present,both children have survived and are in a healthy condition.Physicians should be aware of the possibility of HB and a history of NEC in children.Premature birth and low birth weight are common factors leading to the pathogenesis of HB and NEC.The association between these two diseases requires further study。Sidou He Xisi Wang Chao Duan Wen Zhao Chiyi Jiang Shihan Zhang Binglin Jian Wei Yang Tong Yu Libing Fu Huanmin Wang Xiaoli Ma 2023Cancer Innovation2023,2,6:0
9Systemic antibiotics increase microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss显示文摘Periodontitis is the most widespread oral disease and is closely related to the oral microbiota.The oral microbiota is adversely affected by some pharmacologic treatments.Systemic antibiotics are widely used for infectious diseases but can lead to gut dysbiosis,causing negative effects on the human body.Whether systemic antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis can affect the oral microbiota or even periodontitis has not yet been addressed.In this research,mice were exposed to drinking water containing a cocktail of four antibiotics to explore how systemic antibiotics affect microbiota pathogenicity and oral bone loss.The results demonstrated,for the first time,that gut dysbiosis caused by long-term use of antibiotics can disturb the oral microbiota and aggravate periodontitis.Moreover,the expression of cytokines related to Th17 was increased while transcription factors and cytokines related to Treg were decreased in the periodontal tissue.Fecal microbiota transplantation with normal mice feces restored the gut microbiota and barrier,decreased the pathogenicity of the oral microbiota,reversed the Th17/Treg imbalance in periodontal tissue,and alleviated alveolar bone loss.This study highlights the potential adverse effects of long-term systemic antibiotics-induced gut dysbiosis on the oral microbiota and periodontitis.A Th17/Treg imbalance might be related to this relationship.Importantly,these results reveal that the periodontal condition of patients should be assessed regularly when using systemic antibiotics in clinical practice.Xulei Yuan Fuyuan Zhou He Wang Xinxin Xu Shihan Xu Chuangwei Zhang Yanan Zhang Miao Lu Yang Zhang Mengjiao Zhou Han Li Ximu Zhang Tingwei Zhang Jinlin Song 2023International Journal of Oral Science2023,15,1:0
10Design and preparation of a crosslinkable,oil-resistant,and bio-based elastomer from fumarate显示文摘Poly(diethyl fumarate-co-methoxyethyl acrylate-co-vinyl chloroacetate)(PDEFMV),a novel bio-based elastomer with a saturated structure,was synthesized via redox emulsion polymerization.The glass-transition temperatures of PDEFMV,adjusted through the variation of the diethyl fumarate-to-methoxyethyl acrylate feeding ratio,ranged from-36.1 to-14.8 ℃.The number-average molecular weights of PDEFMV ranged from 384,000 to 46,000 g/mol.In designing the molecular structure,vinyl chloroacetate was used to provide active sites for subsequent vulcanization and crosslinking.The active chlorine groups within the PDEFMV chain reacted with the crosslinking agent trithiocyanuric acid under high temperature and pressure to form a nonsulfur crosslinked three-dimensional network structure.To achieve the desired properties,carbon black(CB,N330) was incorporated to reinforce PDEFMV,leading to the formation of PDEFMV/CB composites.A comprehensive study was conducted on the high-temperature oil resistance of PDEFMV/CB composites.Following immersion in IRM903 oil at temperatures of 150 and 200 ℃ for 72 h,the mass and volume changes in PDEFMV/CB were lower than those observed in commercially available acrylate rubber(AR)/CB,indicating that PDEFMV exhibited superior oil resistance.Furthermore,the aging characteristics and mechanisms of oil resistance in the PDEFMV/CB and AR/CB composites were investigated at different temperatures(150,200,and 250 ℃).The results provide insights into the operational temperature ranges suitable for PDEFMV/CB and offer valuable guidance for potential industrial applications.Hui Yang Haijun Ji Xinxin Zhou Shihan Yang Liwei Li Chaoying Sun Weiwei Lei Runguo Wang Liqun Zhang 2024Science China Chemistry2024,67,2:0
