1QTL mapping for grain number per spikelet in wheat using a high-density genetic map显示文摘Grain number per spikelet (GNS) is a key determinant of grain yield in wheat.A recombinant inbred line population comprising 300 lines was developed from a cross between a high GNS variety H461 and Chinese Spring from which the reference genome assembly of bread wheat was obtained.Both parents and the recombinant inbred lines were genotyped using the wheat 55K single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) array.A high-density genetic map containing 21,197 SNPs was obtained.These markers covered each of the 21 chromosomes with a total linkage distance of 3792.71 c M.Locations of these markers in this linkage map were highly consistent with their physical locations in the genome assembly of Chinese Spring.The two parents and the whole RIL population were assessed for GNS in two consecutive years at two different locations.Based on multi-environment phenotype data and best liner unbiased prediction values,three quantitative trait loci (QTL) for GNS were identified.One of them located on chromosomes 2B and the other two on 2D.Phenotypic variation explained by these loci varied from 3.07%to26.57%.One of these QTL,QGns.sicau-2D-2,was identified in each of all trials conducted.Based on the best linear unbiased prediction values,this locus explained 19.59%–26.57%of phenotypic variation.A KASP(Kompetitive Allele-Specific PCR) marker closely linked with this locus was generated and used to validate the effects of this locus in three different genetic backgrounds.The identified QTL and the KASP marker developed for it will be highly valuable in fine-mapping the locus and in exploiting it for markerassisted selection in wheat breeding programs.Yu Lin Xiaojun Jiang Haiyan Hu Kunyu Zhou Qing Wang Shifan Yu Xilan Yang Zhiqiang Wang Fangkun Wu Shihang Liu Caixia Li Mei Deng Jian Ma Guangdeng Chen Yuming Wei Youliang Zheng Yaxi Liu 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,5:4

3First-principles study on persistent luminescence mechanism of LiYGeO_(4):Eu^(3+)显示文摘LiYGeO_(4):Eu^(3+)is a red persistent luminescent material with a duration of more than 21 h.Although its persistent luminescence phenomenon has been fully studied,its detailed mechanism is still the subject of debates.Herein,we performed first-principles study on the intrinsic point defects and the charge transfer processes in LiYGeO_(4):Eu^(3+)to reveal the mechanism of persistent luminescence.The results show that,under charge transfer excitation,the electron is promoted from the valence band(oxygen ion ligand)to the central Eu^(3+)ion to form Eu^(2+)ion in LiYGeO_(4):Eu^(3+),leaving a hole behind.The charge transfer excitation can relax quickly to the excited state of the Eu^(3+)ion,which produces the characteristic^(5)D_(0)→^(7)F_(J)(J=0-6)emission.The Li vacancies(V_(Li))and the antisite defects of Li replacing Y site(Li_(Y))and Y replacing Li site(YLi)are main defects,while O vacancies(V_(O))are less important in concentration due to high formation energy.VLi and Liy can serve as hole-type traps,with the trap depths suitable for trapping the holes produced by illumination.The delayed release holes can combine with the Eu^(2+)left behind by the illumination,leading to persistent luminescence.The VLi trap is shallower than Li_(Y),and the latter is responsible for the long duration of persistent luminescence.A schematic based on the calculation results is constructed to illustrate the mechanism of persistent luminescence.Shihang Zhou Bibo Lou Chong-Geng Ma Min Yin 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,10:0
4Spatial variability and driving factors of soil multifunctionality in drylands of China显示文摘Drylands are highly vulnerable to climate change and human activities.The drylands of China account for approximately 10.8%of global drylands,and China is the country most severely affected by aridity in Asia.Therefore,studying the spatial variation characteristics in soil multifunctionality(SMF)and investigating the driving factors are critical for elucidating and managing the functions of dryland ecosystems in China.Based on the environmental factors(mean annual precipitation(MAP),mean annual temperature(MAT),solar radiation(Srad),soil acidity(pH),enhanced vegetation index(EVI),and cation exchange capacity(CEC))and aridity from the“dataset of soil properties for land surface modeling over China”,we used non-linear regression,ordinary least square(OLS)regression,structural equation model(SEM),and other analytical methods to investigate the relationships of SMF with environmental factors across different aridity levels in China.SMF in different dryland regions varied significantly and showed a patchy distribution,with SMF index values ranging from–1.21 to 2.42.Regions with SMF index values from–0.20 to 0.51 accounting for 63.0%of dryland area in China.OLS regression results revealed that environmental factors like MAP,MAT,Srad,pH,EVI,and CEC were significantly related to SMF(P<0.05).MAP and MAT were correlated to SMF at the whole aridity level(P<0.05).SEM results showed that the driving factors of SMF differed depending on the aridity level.Soil pH was the strongest driving factor of SMF when the aridity was less than 0.80(P<0.001).Both soil CEC and EVI had a positive effect on SMF when aridity was greater than 0.80(P<0.01),with soil CEC being the strongest driving factor.The importance ranking revealed that the relative importance contribution of soil pH to SMF was greatest when aridity was less than 0.80(66.9%).When aridity was set to greater than 0.80,the relative importance contributions of CEC and EVI to SMF increased(45.1%and 31.9%,respectively).Our findings indicated that SMF had high spatial heterogeneity in drylands of China.The aridity threshold controlled the impact of environmental factors on SMF.ZHANG Shihang CHEN Yusen LU Yongxing GUO Hao GUO Xing LIU Chaohong ZHOU Xiaobing ZHANG Yuanming 2022Regional Sustainability2022,3,3:0
