1Top-emitting thermally activated delayed fluorescence organic light-emitting devices with weak light-matter coupling显示文摘Resonance interaction between a molecular transition and a confined electromagnetic field can lead to weak or strong light-matter coupling.Considering the substantial exciton–phonon coupling in thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)materials,it is thus interesting to explore whether weak light-matter coupling can be used to redistribute optical density of states and to change the rate of radiative decay.Here,we demonstrate that the emission distribution of TADF emitters can be reshaped and narrowed in a top-emitting organic light-emitting device(OLED)with a weakly coupled microcavity.The Purcell effect of weak microcavity is found to be different for TADF emitters with different molecular orientations.We demonstrate that radiative rates of the TADF emitters with vertical orientation can be substantial increased in weakly coupled organic microcavity.These observations can enhance external quantum efficiencies,reduce efficiency roll-off,and improve color-purities of TADF OLEDs,especially for emitters without highly horizontal orientation.Chunxiu Zang Shihao Liu Mengxin Xu Ruifang Wang Chen Cao Zelin Zhu Jiaming Zhang Hui Wang Letian Zhang Wenfa Xie Chun-Sing Lee 2021Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,7:7
2The Tibetan Plateau Surface–Atmosphere Coupling System and Its Weather and Climate Effects: The Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment显示文摘The Tibetan Plateau(TP) is a key area affecting forecasts of weather and climate in China and occurrences of extreme weather and climate events over the world. The China Meteorological Administration, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly initiated the Third Tibetan Plateau Atmospheric Science Experiment(TIPEX-Ⅲ) in 2013, with an 8–10-yr implementation plan. Since its preliminary field measurements conducted in 2013, routine automatic sounding systems have been deployed at Shiquanhe, Gaize, and Shenzha stations in western TP, where no routine sounding observations were available previously. The observational networks for soil temperature and soil moisture in the central and western TP have also been established. Meanwhile, the plateau-scale and regional-scale boundary layer observations, cloud–precipitation microphysical observations with multiple radars and aircraft campaigns, and tropospheric–stratospheric air composition observations at multiple sites, were performed. The results so far show that the turbulent heat exchange coefficient and sensible heat flux are remarkably lower than the earlier estimations at grassland, meadow, and bare soil surfaces of the central and western TP. Climatologically, cumulus clouds over the main body of the TP might develop locally instead of originating from the cumulus clouds that propagate northward from South Asia. The TIPEX-Ⅲ observations up to now also reveal diurnal variations, macro-and microphysical characteristics, and water-phase transition mechanisms, of cumulus clouds at Naqu station. Moreover, TIPEX-Ⅲ related studies have proposed a maintenance mechanism responsible for the Asian 'atmospheric water tower' and demonstrated the effects of the TP heating anomalies on African, Asian, and North American climates. Additionally, numerical modeling studies show that the Γ distribution of raindrop size is more suitable for depicting the TP raindrop characteristics compared to the M–P distribution, the overestimation of sensible heat flux can be reduced via modifying the heat transfer parameterization over the TP, and considering climatic signals in some key areas of the TP can improve the skill for rainfall forecast in the central and eastern parts of China. 3Rail fatigue crack propagation in high-speed wheel/rail rolling contact显示文摘To study the wheel/rail rolling contact fatigue of high-speed trains, we obtain the distribution of contact forces between wheel and rail by introducing the strain-rate effect.Based on the finite element simulation, a two-dimensional finite element model is established, and the process of a wheel rolling over a crack is analyzed to predict the crack propagation direction. The statistics of possible crack propagation angles are calculated by the maximum circumferential stress criterion. The crack path is then obtained by using the average crack propagation angle as the crack propagation direction according to Weibull distribution.Results show that the rail crack mode of low-speed trains is different from that of high-speed trains. The rail crack propagation experiences a migration from opening mode to sliding mode under the low-speed trains; however, the rail crack mainly propagates in the opening mode under highspeed trains. Furthermore, the crack propagation rate for high-speed trains is faster than that for low-speed trains. 4Tacrolimus reduces scar formation and promotes sciatic nerve regeneration显示文摘A sciatic nerve transection and repair model was established in Sprague-Dawley rats by transecting the tendon of obturator internus muscle in the greater sciatic foramen and suturing with nylon sutures. The models were treated with tacrolimus gavage (4 mg/kg per day) for 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks. Specimens were harvested at 6 weeks of intragastric administration. Masson staining revealed that the collagen fiber content and scar area in the nerve anastomosis of the sciatic nerve injury rats were significantly reduced after tacrolimus administration. Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that tacrolimus significantly increased myelinated nerve fiber density, average axon diameter and myelin sheath thickness. Intragastric administration of tacrolimus also led to a significant increase in the recovery rate of gastrocnemius muscle wet weight and the sciatic functional index after sciatic nerve injury. The above indices were most significantly improved at 6 weeks after of tacrolimus gavage. The myelinated nerve fiber density in the nerve anastomosis and the sciatic nerve functions had a significant negative correlation with the scar area, as detected by Spearman's rank correlation analysis. 5Experimental demonstration of pyramidal neuron-like dynamics dominated by dendritic action potentials based on a VCSEL for all-optical XOR classification task显示文摘We experimentally and numerically demonstrate an approach to optically reproduce a pyramidal neuron-like dynamics dominated by dendritic Ca^(2+) action potentials(dCaAPs)based on a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser(VCSEL)for the first time.The biological pyramidal neural dynamics dominated by dCaAPs indicates that the dendritic electrode evoked somatic spikes with current near threshold but failed to evoke(or evoked less)somatic spikes for higher current intensity.The emulating neuron-like dynamics is performed optically based on the injection locking,spiking dynamics,and damped oscillations in the optically injected VCSEL.In addition,the exclusive OR(XOR)classification task is examined in the VCSEL neuron equipped with the pyramidal neuronlike dynamics dominated by dCaAPs.Furthermore,a single spike or multiple periodic spikes are suggested to express the result of the XOR classification task for enhancing the processing rate or accuracy.The experimental and numerical results show that the XOR classification task is achieved successfully in the VCSEL neuron enabled to mimic the pyramidal neuron-like dynamics dominated by dCaAPs.This work reveals valuable pyramidal neuron-like dynamics in a VCSEL and offers a novel approach to solve XOR classification task with a fast and simple all-optical spiking neural network,and hence shows great potentials for future photonic spiking neural networks and photonic neuromorphic computing.YAHUI ZHANG SHUIYING XIANG XINGYU CAO SHIHAO ZHAO XINGXING GUO AIJUN WEN YUE HAO 2021Photonics Research2021,9,6:2
6Acetylation of ezrin regulates membrane–cytoskeleton interaction underlying CCL18-elicited cell migration显示文摘Ezrin,a membrane–cytoskeleton linker protein,plays an essential role in cell polarity establishment,cell migration,and division.Recent studies show that ezrin phosphorylation regulates breast cancer metastasis by promoting cancer cell survivor and promotes intrahepatic metastasis via cell migration.However,it was less characterized whether there are additional post-translational modifications and/or post-translational crosstalks on ezrin underlying context-dependent breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Here we show that ezrin is acetylated by p300/CBP-associated factor(PCAF)in breast cancer cells in response to CCL18 stimulation.Ezrin physically interacts with PCAF and is a cognate substrate of PCAF.The acetylation site of ezrin was mapped by mass spectrometric analyses,and dynamic acetylation of ezrin is essential for CCL18-induced breast cancer cell migration and invasion.Mechanistically,the acetylation reduced the lipid-binding activity of ezrin to ensure a robust and dynamic cycling between the plasma membrane and cytosol in response to CCL18 stimulation.Biochemical analyses show that ezrin acetylation prevents the phosphorylation of Thr567.Using atomic force microscopic measurements,our study revealed that acetylation of ezrin induced its unfolding into a dominant structure,which prevents ezrin phosphorylation at Thr567.Thus,these results present a previously undefined mechanism by which CCL18-elicited crosstalks between the acetylation and phosphorylation on ezrin control breast cancer cell migration and invasion.This suggests that targeting PCAF signaling could be a potential therapeutic strategy for combating hyperactive ezrin-driven cancer progression.Xiaoyu Song Wanjuan Wang Haowei Wang Xiao Yuan Fengrui Yang Lingli Zhao McKay Mullen Shihao Du Najdat Zohbi Saravanakumar Muthusamy Yalei Cao Jiying Jiang Peng Xia Ping He Mingrui Ding Nerimah Emmett Mingming Ma Quan Wu Hadiyah-Nicole Green Xia Ding Dongmei Wang Fengsong Wang Xing Liu 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,6:1
7Potential risk of mitomycin C at high concentrations on peripheral nerve structure显示文摘Although the local application of mitomycin C may prevent epidural adhesion after laminectomy, mitomycin C can induce neurotoxicity in optic and acoustic nerves at high concentrations. To determine the safe concentration range for mitomycin C, cotton pads soaked with mitomycin C at different concentrations(0.1, 0.3, 0.5, and 0.7 mg/mL) were immediately applied for 5 minutes to the operation area of rats that had undergone laminectomy at L1. Rat sciatic nerves, instead of dorsal nerves, were used in this study. The results showed that mitomycin C at 0.1–0.5 mg/mL did not damage the structure and function of the sciatic nerve, while at 0.7 mg/mL, mitomycin C significantly reduced the thickness of the sciatic nerve myelin sheath compared with lower concentrations, though no functional change was found. 8Graph-Based Dimensionality Reduction for Hyperspectral Imagery: A Review显示文摘Hyperspectral image(HSI)contains a wealth of spectral information,which makes fine classification of ground objects possible.In the meanwhile,overly redundant information in HSI brings many challenges.Specifically,the lack of training samples and the high computational cost are the inevitable obstacles in the design of classifier.In order to solve these problems,dimensionality reduction is usually adopted.Recently,graph-based dimensionality reduction has become a hot topic.In this paper,the graph-based methods for HSI dimensionality reduction are summarized from the following aspects.1)The traditional graph-based methods employ Euclidean distance to explore the local information of samples in spectral feature space.2)The dimensionality-reduction methods based on sparse or collaborative representation regard the sparse or collaborative coefficients as graph weights to effectively reduce reconstruction errors and represent most important information of HSI in the dictionary.3)Improved methods based on sparse or collaborative graph have made great progress by considering global low-rank information,local intra-class information and spatial information.In order to compare typical techniques,three real HSI datasets were used to carry out relevant experiments,and then the experimental results were analysed and discussed.Finally,the future development of this research field is prospected.Zhen Ye Shihao Shi Zhan Cao Lin Bai Cuiling Li Tao Sun Yongqiang Xi 2021Journal of Beijing Institute of Technology2021,30,2:1
9Methylation of PLK1 by SET7/9 ensures accurate kinetochore–microtubule dynamics显示文摘Faithful segregation of mitotic chromosomes requires bi-orientation of sister chromatids, which relies on the sensing of correct attachments between spindle microtubules and kinetochores. Although the mechanisms underlying PLK1 activation have been extensively studied, the regulatory mechanisms that couple PLK1 activity to accurate chromosome segregation are not well understood. In particular, PLK1 is implicated in stabilizing kinetochore–microtubule attachments, but how kinetochore PLK1 activity is regulated to avoid hyperstabilized kinetochore–microtubules in mitosis remains elusive. Here, we show that kinetochore PLK1 kinase activity is modulated by SET7/9 via lysine methylation during early mitosis. The SET7/9-elicited dimethylation occurs at the Lys191 of PLK1, which tunes down its activity by limiting ATP utilization. Overexpression of the non-methylatable PLK1 mutant or chemical inhibition of SET7/9 methyltransferase activity resulted in mitotic arrest due to destabilized kinetochore–microtubule attachments. These data suggest that kinetochore PLK1 is essential for stable kinetochore–microtubule attachments and methylation by SET7/9 promotes dynamic kinetochore–microtubule attachments for accurate error correction. 10AMDnet:An Academic Misconduct Detection Method for Authors’Behaviors显示文摘In recent years,academic misconduct has been frequently exposed by the media,with serious impacts on the academic community.Current research on academic misconduct focuses mainly on detecting plagiarism in article content through the application of character-based and non-text element detection techniques over the entirety of a manuscript.For the most part,these techniques can only detect cases of textual plagiarism,which means that potential culprits can easily avoid discovery through clever editing and alterations of text content.In this paper,we propose an academic misconduct detection method based on scholars’submission behaviors.The model can effectively capture the atypical behavioral approach and operation of the author.As such,it is able to detect various types of misconduct,thereby improving the accuracy of detection when combined with a text content analysis.The model learns by forming a dual network group that processes text features and user behavior features to detect potential academic misconduct.First,the effect of scholars’behavioral features on the model are considered and analyzed.Second,the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique(SMOTE)is applied to address the problem of imbalanced samples of positive and negative classes among contributing scholars.Finally,the text features of the papers are combined with the scholars’behavioral data to improve recognition precision.Experimental results on the imbalanced dataset demonstrate that our model has a highly satisfactory performance in terms of accuracy and recall.Shihao Zhou Ziyuan Xu JinHan Xingming Sun Yi Cao 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,6:0
11Experimental demonstration of photonic spike-timing-dependent plasticity based on a VCSOA显示文摘We experimentally design two photonic spike-timing-dependent plasticity(STDP) schemes based on a single vertical-cavity semiconductor optical amplifier(VCSOA) and demonstrate the photonic implementation of STDP characteristics. In the first scheme, a single-polarized optical pulse train is injected into the VCSOA, in which a pair of optical pulses with a time difference is designed to emulate the pre-synaptic and post-synaptic spikes. In the second scheme, dual-polarized optical pulses emulating the pre-synaptic and post-synaptic spikes are injected into the single VCSOA. Furthermore, the effects of the initial wavelength detuning and the power of the input optical pulse on the STDP curve are analyzed.
